Err um, thanks Neal - I think. By the by, does it specify which finger the King gets to use???
Neal - you don't want to know. It's nasty, smelly, and not even a little bit nice. I stay in my own little world. At least I know everybody there.
Lobo - I was not targeting you. Just pointing out that people started off without even knowing the whys or wherefores. For all I know they may be entirely justified but personally I'll wait to hear a bit more before deciding.
Hmmm? I seem to detect some hostility here.
Lets see, assuming that the meeting was indeed cancled, no one save possibly Lobo and his "source" seem to know the how's or why. Additionally, yesterday I believe I read several posts that suggested that even if the meeting took place, it was unlikely that anything of substance would be discovered.
Ach so! Mit der news dat der meeting vas kaput, somevun pours das blood in piranah tank. Ja dere is definitely der latent hositility!! LOL
Looking at T&S it would appear that the MM's are doing "wash" trading since about 11:41. Alternating buys and sells for the same number of shares.
Nevermind - I see my streamer jammed around then without me noticing. Sorry.
This is a first as near as I can see. Over 700 million traded but no trades after 2:18:26 according to my streamer. Does that mean people have run out of shares to sell or is someone waiting for something or ...?
Do you suppose he might be referring to what shows on PlanetOut???
You'd certainly think so wouldn't you Zandant. Surprisingly they are more gung ho than I am for the long term potential. Hey, who am I to tell my wife my in-laws that they're wrong. LOL
Over the last few weeks, I and my wife have picked up about 6 million @ 0.0002 as well as another 4 million that her parents picked up at the same price. All three of us have Scottrade accounts. On the other hand, it would seem that there are a lot of folks who have had orders in for some time and can't get filled.
Moral: If that's the price you want to pick up some more at, place the order and see. Can't hoight - LOL
Our philosophy is that if there is some kind of R/S or spinoff, the more shares the better off we might be. If neither of these occurs, well then we will have a lot of shares that hopefully will be worth something someday.
GLTA
Then why bother going?
Rickhan,
Most of the volume WAS selling. It was the MM's buying not individuals. Yep, there have been some folks able to buy at 0.0002 over the last few weeks, myself included but those are small fry buys compared to most of what we saw today. Further, I have no explanation as to why it was even possible.
Unfortunately, IMO we saw the MM's increase their inventory by about a billion shares give or take. That's a billion or so that will now have to be sold before they have any pressure to raise the pps for the rest of us.
As to the price not moving because of the A/S and/or O/S, well unfortunately IMO that argument does have merit.
We shall see what tomorrow shall bring.
What I find curious is that whoever is dumping such massive amounts apparently has no fear of the bid dropping. That is, I would have thought anyone would have dribbled them onto the market, a few hundred million at a time.
I would suppose that they buyers are the MM's. They will add to their inventory. As the inventory grows they would be under less pressure to raise the price to encourage selling because in the supply/demand equation they would have a huge supply. IMO
If this is all true, we will be down here for quite a while.
Skunks, unfortunately it could be folks selling that were given shares in lieu of payment for 0.0001 or less as an exchange rate. If so, they are exchanging them for cash.
Potty break???
Lobo, Junk, Jet:
Thank you all for your replies, they are appreciated. Lobo, I didn't mean to imply that I would not post at all but I feel that my original thread has used up enough time.
I realize this is a difficult time for all of us. I hope for all of our sakes that it will resolve in our favor. Frankly at these low levels I've stopped really worrying about it.
Like Janis Joplin said "Freedom's just another word for nuthin left to lose"
Junk - I know I'm beating a dead horse here.
That there are two or more opinions is great IMO. All I ever hoped for was to remind people to be tolerant of those in the opposite camps. That goes for both sides. When I see a poster referring to another as stupid, or idiot or even worse jackXXX, that poster's credibility in my eyes goes down.
I am used to working with professionals. Even in the most extreme disagreements, we all remain civil. I'm sorry if that is too much to ask here.
Just for the record, I am one of the hopefuls. Perhaps not soon, but eventually I hope this will rise. I started buying in 2004 but figured it would take 3 - 5 years to payoff. I'm willing to wait.
OK - someone is swiping my soapbox. I shall return to silence.
Lobo - I will admit to being somewhat wrong. Particularly in regards to yourself. For that you are due an apology and I offer you one. Nevertheless, my points remain: People are being subject to sarcasm, insult, and derision for having an opinion contrary to the doom and gloom crowd. What is equally irksome is that no one seems willing to call them on it. There are still others that, at least appear, to take glee in the declining pps. Perhaps for the reasons I gave or perhaps others.
I don't wish to drag this out - the original post(s) that grated my nerves are now past. I would have to be some sort of Don Quixote to think I would have any chance of suddenly turning this board courteous. Since I am not, I shall retire to the sidelines for a while.
My best wishes to all, may we succeed despite ourselves.
What you, and others "love" is to deride anyone who has a viewpoint different from your own. And yes, to the outsider looking in, it does appear that a group gloats over the pps decline. For them, it has become a prophecy, a means to vindicate to themselves that perhaps they were smarter than anyone else to have either sold or not bought in in the first place.
Well, enough. I repeat I am really glad that NO ONE here has any influence on the outcome.
If "credibility" is a criteria - then I find very few people's posts here qualify. If and/or when the pps drops to 0.0001 I fully expect to see equal amounts of gloating and crying along with the same school yard finger pointing.
Enjoy yourselves, but I thank all the little odd gods of the universe that none of you have any influence on the pps.
Raggs,
I look on the charts as an indication not so much of the company per se but how the public percieves the company. Even then, given the performance of Q over the last several months, I'm not even certain they apply at all at the moment. In addition to the RSI, it would appear that there has been a great deal of accumulation which doesn't jibe in my mind with the price.
I mainly look at the days of massive selling with the bid/ask remaining unchanged. Several of those days we might have closed down but the mm's would put through a token buy just at closing to leave it unchanged for the day.
In short, I think that if we were going to go down to 0.0001, we would have done it by now. Either for some reason the mm's are keeping it supported at these levels or there is some other mechanism at work. I honestly don't know.
As I said in my prior post, somewhat tongue in cheek, these predictions of 0.0001 have been around for quite a while. The reasons for the predictions ranged from just gloom and doom, to thought out opinions such as yours. IMO they should have come true, but haven't. Go figure.
Personally, I see this apparent support as a mildly encouraging sign.
Have a Happy New Year,
Cabo Sailor
Raggs, isn't that what "people" have been saying now for several weeks?? 0.0001 by end of day, 0.0001 by end of week, 0.0001 by end of next week. Can we pin it down a bit better?? LOL
Somebody let me know when recess is over and the adults start talking about QBID - LOL
I'm afraid at my age I have a low tolerance for kids and their playground games.
Cardioverter, I believe you might have misread. They state that RCN has 400,000 viewers but they don't state how many subscribers of Q. If memory serves, in that time frame, the number 22,000 was bantied about. If so, that would give monthly gross revenue of $71,500.
Congrats Froy, your incessant whining just won an ignore.
If, and I just say if, the shares were being used for the purpose of a new hire, then the only one in his right mind that would take it would be someone who was shown something that we obviously have not seen. Something very good to where the person had a better than average hope to come out way ahead. Otherwise, as you say it wouldn't fly IMO.
Yes, sorry for the mispelling. His victories were so costly in terms of men lost that after one battle he reportedly stated something to the effect "another victory like this and we will lose the war". I'd have to go back to look up the actual quote.
Thanks for the correction.
I most certainly will not send the e-mail. While you might believe there is no hope, that is not a unanimous opinion. Unless you are willing to jeopardize everyone else's investment because you are depressed, I would urge that you not send it either. As others have stated, there will be plenty of time for that sort of action in the future, if necessary. To proceed now, IMO would at best produce a pyrhhic victory.
Hey! I remember that. People used to keep a box of kitchen matches in the bathroom. When they were finished, they would light one to kill the odor. Wowser, memories. LOL
Being curious - you state {i] finding it now worth 90% less and illiquid. - What was the stated value of the stocks at the time of the transaction? I don't recall seeing that. I am also curious as to why they are considered "illiquid" considering the recent volume or are you referring to illiquid in the sense of being restricted?
If they had a face value of 0.0001 then even at today's prices they would have made 100% profit and perhaps they were one of the entities "dumping" during recent weeks.
Gads - I swear some of you must be married to each other! The same squabbles over and over and day after day. LOL
NSS_Boss, that's not always right but for sure most of the time. If he had done it before raising the A/S, well he wouldn't have needed to raise the A/S.
Sput,
If they do an R/S it does not neccesarily change the A/S. So lets say he does an R/S to reduce the O/S to 10 billion. Without changing the A/S there is nothing to stop him from reissuing the remaining 90 billion (100 - 10). Some companies just keep on doing this in a cycle. Meanwhile, in a situation like this the pps will continue to decline until another R/S and the cycle starts over again. Not sure if I'm making myself clear but I hope so.
An R/S will not help if the A/S is not also reduced. Since he just increased the A/S I can't see him doing an R/S at this time AND reducing the A/S. If this train of thought is correct, any mention of an R/S by Frank would be a very bad sign IMO.
Obviously you have me confused with someone who might care. Whether anyone wishes to believe it or not is totally irrelevant to me.
Once again you are living up to your reputation.
My wife, with her own money, her parents, and a colleague at work have all bought Q. They all remain confident in the long term but are dissapointed in the recent pps. All of us have been adding at these prices. Assuming our long term confidence is warranted, adding more at these prices can only benefit us.
As to the long term confidence, well, only time will tell. Its a gamble and was never represented to any of the above except as an extremely high risk venture with the potential for an equally high return.
Perhaps, or else his attorney's would petition the court to combine the cases. IMO he'd probably be granted that due to the similarity of all the cases. Additionally, it would probably cost the individuals more for their own attorny fees than the amount that they lost!!
Actually, yes. I am amazed at the gloom. IMO if someone truly thinks this game is over, with no hope of recovery, I cannot understand why they don't bail. If they are correct, the money is lost and waiting will not make it come back. On the other hand, if they think there is still a chance to recover some of their funds, then they can't be completely without hope.
As to 'feigning disbelief', not so. I never said that I didn't believe anyone, simply amazed in the same sense as you. I believe that these folks are sincere and a have a perfect right to their depression. What I find dismaying is the animosity towards anyone who isn't agreeable pessimistic.
I too am a long, I first bought in Feb. 04 and have been holding ever since. In fact, as the price has decreased I have been adding as have members of my family and business associates. It may take another year or two, but I remain confident in the long term outlook.
Perhaps I expressed it poorly in the prior post but it was the intolerance that I was addressing rather than the negative posts per se.
I wish everyone here the best of fortune.
Please remember that some are equally amazed at the pessimism and gloom of others. I had thought that the purpose of these boards was to promote discussion between disparate opinions. If everyone had the same mind set, there would be nothing to discuss.
As to "scary" - I don't understand. Frightened of what, that others disagree with you??
