Thanks Matrixx...at least it feels positive and a little hope sure can't hurt.
Qbid rules..... weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Clarkston; I find your condescending attitude towards anyone who disagrees with you as indeed a "lack of intelligence" on your part. Your mastery of the english language is admirable but no more makes you a political genius than anyone else on this board. You are welcome to your opinions but please refrain from making overt judgement on someones mentality because you not only lack good judgement but compassion as well. I will not post again today, so refute away.
Political observations on Americans from a foreigner...perhaps Dems & Reps find it too hard to be objective. Food for thot
*** "They are jealous!"
"I couldn't believe it. But I keep hearing it. Americans
think that the rest of the world is jealous of them. They
tell each other what a great country they have...they fly
the flag all over the place...and they think that when
another country causes problems or doesn't agree with them,
it is because they are jealous."
The person speaking was a young Belgian woman who lives in
Baltimore. We had gotten together a small group of French
speakers to celebrate Bastille Day. Not that we have any
sentimental attachment to the French Revolution. We do not
approve of revolution - even the American one. But we never
forgo an opportunity to drink too much.
"Even after September 11, I heard on the news," she
continued, "that the reason bin Laden had attacked the U.S.
was because he was jealous. They seem to think that the
reason people in other countries are the way they are is
because they have failed in their efforts to be like
Americans."
It is a fatal conceit. It leads Americans to believe the
most absurd things - that if they offer American-style
institutions to foreigners, even at the point of a gun,
they will take them up readily and then say 'thank you.'
And that they will live indefinitely on foreigners'
savings; the Huns and Frogs and Japs are so eager to put
their money into the world's most dynamic country, they'll
never ask questions.
But the conversation veered from money to war...and back
again.
"Belgium is a strange, unnatural country. It is meant to be
a buffer state between France and Germany. We are always
getting invaded. Half the country - well, really, a third -
feels they are French. Another third feels it is German. So
that when the Germans invaded in WWII, the people in the
East of the country welcomed them, and collaborated. The
French speakers resisted. At least, that's what the
Walloons (the French speakers) like to believe. My
grandfather got sent to a slave labor camp during the war.
My grandmother lived in a cave for two years. It was
horrible.
"And even now, two or three generations later, and I was
talking to a woman from Holland. She asked me what I
thought of the Germans. I said, frankly, I didn't trust
them. Of course, I don't know them at all. It's just a
reflex.
"The Germans are not likely to go to war anymore. They've
had enough of it...but here in the U.S.A., I'm a little
shocked by how eager Americans are to go to war..."
*** From Alexis de Tocqueville's 'Democracy in America':
"The Americans have no neighbors and consequently they have
no great wars, or financial crises, or inroads, or
conquests to dread; they require neither great taxes, nor
large armies, nor great generals; and they have nothing to
fear from a scourge which is more formidable to republics
than all these evils combined: namely, military glory. It
is impossible to deny the inconceivable influence that
military glory exercises upon the spirit of a nation.
"General Jackson, whom the Americans have twice elected to
be the head of their government, is a man of violent temper
and very moderate talents; nothing in his whole career ever
proved him qualified to govern a free people; and, indeed,
the majority of the enlightened classes of the Union has
always opposed him. But he was raised to the Presidency,
and has been maintained there, solely by the recollection
of a victory which he gained, twenty years ago, under the
walls of New Orleans; a victory which was, however, a very
ordinary achievement and which could only be remembered in
a country where battles are rare. Now the people who are
thus carried away by the illusions of glory are
unquestionably the most cold and calculating, the most
unmilitary, if I may so speak, and the most prosaic of all
the nations of the earth..."
For most of their history, Americans were mostly inept at
war. They were no good at it because they had better things
to think about and better things to do. And, except for
Lincoln's intramural war against the southern states, there
was no need. While France faced danger from either side -
Britain and Germany...and Germany faced danger from France
and Russia...America stood only against Canada and Mexico,
neither of which could inflict any real harm.
This is not to say that the average grunt lacked courage or
discipline; on the contrary, he almost had too much. Farm
boys went to war thinking they were the greatest soldiers
on earth. The illusion of invincibility went to their
heads; they forgot to duck.
We say that after reading more of Thomas Fleming's history
of Woodrow Wilson and WWI. The poor doughboys got killed in
appalling numbers. It was as if their officers had learned
nothing from the slaughter of the French and British over
the preceding two years. They sent their men across open
ground to attack machine guns. At the end of the battle,
American bodies were spread out like a carpet. The German
machine guns were still in place.
"Private First Class James Rose of the First Division later
told of advancing across an open field to within fifty
yards of the German Line," writes Fleming. "Suddenly, the
air around the men 'became a solid sheet of machine-gun and
artillery fire. No words could possibly describe the horror
of it. Body stacked upon body in waves and piles...our boys
never faltered, they came, wave upon wave, climbing over
the bodies of their fallen comrades with one obsession in
mind, to reach and destroy every machine gun that was
mowing down our advance.' These brave men were obeying the
orders of the division commander, Major General Charles
Summerall, who summed up his tactical thinking on how to
deal with machine guns in two brutal words: 'Charge 'em!'"
'Charge 'em' brings to mind an entirely different kind of
recklessness today: the credit bubble has reached
practically
Island boy...if you havent found it yet, click on home...it will take you to the message...I was looking for it under programs as well.
CT he said "we are still here" ....not next year..also said Stephen will have programming update on website tomorrow.
Would Sky Digital be a good thing? Any thots?
Then if you click on the Q Sky Digital in blue, it takes you to the position I think..... could it be? And if you look on past articles... SpyDigital did an article on upcoming Q... or am I grasping at straws here?
Thanks Ron.... I'm glad to see someone has got the chutzpah to confront this guy, especially if he just "assumed" since he has heard nothing to say otherwise... so much for factual journalism.
Sorry...Reed Elsevier not Reese...owns Broadcasting and Cable
and another thing...when everyone was raving about the docutmentary that was shown at the National Cable convention, they were calling it an Oscar contender... if Steve Gruenberg (sp) is as well knowned as everyone says he is...and this is such a second rate company... why has he aligned himself with them? IF he is indeed part of the production area...would it not stand to reason that there must be a certain amount of quality in the programming? I really have to question the motives of this news article......
Broadcasting & Cable...that last post pertained too.
The internet is given a preview of upcoming printed material...
Broadcasting & Cable points fingers? ITs owned by Reese Elsevier; they have been involved in several lawsuits. One in taking Florida Driver License information, names addresses whatever and the other was a lawsuit that their behavior was "inequitable". That one pertained to trying to prohibit another company from publishing something.... check it out.
Hey doc...just read the "side of the road thing", just curious; is it ALWAYS the left hand? Does it matter whether if that person is right or left handed? And what hand do they salute with? Maybe I should market Charmin to the iraqi masses..... hee hee. Good luck to you, your son and the rest of your family. AND looking forward to next week..... b.
In Japan people urinate on the side of the road/street openly. IT is an accepted practice and no big deal. GM to all, and I am glad Q is on the rise. GLTA and have a nice day.
Everyone have a wonderful day, Im out of here. I don't look for a PR til at least next week. So I do not want to watch.
DK.... agreed. So that may be our saving grace. If Frank can move it before the election, that would be great. I also wondered if politics may be keeping things from happening. Not just in the event of the election, but in the business arena. Viacom is no small potatoes and I am sure they carry a great deal of clout in the network world. Lets hope they arent worried about Frank.
Zandant...I agree. I wish that the definition of a hard launch had been emphasized. I also think that is where the PR company should have come in. But on the hotline when they indicated that advertising was going to be targeted in certain areas, depending on the publication, they also said they were waiting to be able to divulge which carriers could be indicated in those ads. So it seems that EVERYTHING was put on hold until they could divulge the carriers. Clarification would have certainly put a different spin on things.
DK...you may be right. But I haven't lost anything. Im riding on free shares and am willing to chance that its going to come out okay in the end. And if you look at most of all the pennies, they are all substantialy down. Not just qbid. I stand a better chance of this one going up than some of the others. I just wish it would happen soon. GL to you.
With that said, GLTA and have a wonderful day.
Matrixx...thanks for that post. I didn't realize that "bashing"was such a big business. I have held firm simply because I believed in this stock (right or wrong) but have been tempted on numerous occasions to part company just by getting too involved in reading the chat boards. They are right; knowledge IS power!
Thanks... I needed that.
I thot this was a good post from Mach.... something to keep in mind anyway. Good morning to all and have a good day.

OVERALL Markets: Everyong we are in the summer slow down period. I know many are very concerend or even worried about their accounts! Many here own CMKX, SSWH, QBID, and many many more! Hundreds of stocks are down!
It is easy for us to say... what is going on with my stock, I buy and it goes down, etc. Well most are down in one form or another and most even more than we thought would go down. Bashers will come in and call all of them a scam, they will say we are bagholders, most pumped and ran off leaving you holding the bag, the company is Bankrupt, on and on and on!
Well everyone just spend some time and look at hundreds of stocks that are down. The buying opportunity is becoming great for the fall and most of these will bounce and bounce big in the next 3 months. All we can do is ride our stocks out and average down if we have cash available!
It was posted today the analyst's are calling for a banner year and believe it or not our economy is the best in years! Housing is up and yes rates went up a quarter percent but this is good news not what we are led to believe! Look back in time and see when rates start rising if we the market doesn't start moving up.
The market will move up! good luck to all! I am very comfortable with my stocks and yes down like most, but they will rise back with a vengeance!
I hope this may help and if you believe in your stocks, don't get scared out at the wrong time.
Good luck all.
Has anyone seen this? It talks like its already available...

GM to all....your NTCA post... I know we have seen it before but the "service began" date of Sept 04; seems that bit of info is the biggest indicator of all. I would trust them to post info that was accurate, perhaps more than anyone in regards to qbid.
Chartuna.... thats funny. Im registered as a democrat, but I was thinking the same thing about McCain. I didnt attach a running mate, but I really liked his thinking especially when it came to campaign funding. Good day to all and may we see a positive rise in Qbid next week. Happy fourth.
A blue screwdriver? Perhaps I was thinking about one of those funny alcoholic drinks..... whats so abnormal about that?
AHA! So there are more of us out there..... I like that. But how about calling them demrubs? Or demicans..... yeah I think I like demicans best. :)
....and what if you go with an open mind?....
yes... I remember.... which I would take to mean that the advertising campaign commences with the announcement of carriers.... If they have not announced who they are, they cannot start advertising.
Matrixx...is this the one you are referring too?

Our Executives are out of town on business,

CYTL news
Let me know your thots,as I have to run again.
Or am I being naive?
Hi everyone.... thot you would like to see the response I received to an email sent to Rep Ric Keller of Florida in regards to the naked shorting of stocks. Just a formal reply but I did not expect anything different. Perhaps if everyone contacts their senators and reps they will begin to feel some pressure?
Subj: Thank you for writing

Thank you for contacting my office to share your thoughts on the different
issues that will come before me in the House of Representatives this year.
As we continue the 108th Congress, we anticipate an exceptionally productive
year. Issues such as education reform, saving social security, and permanent tax
relief for all working families are at the top of the congressional agenda.
However, there are many other items, including short selling of stocks, which will
receive plenty of attention.
Additionally, I am certain that there will be debates on homeland security and
continued economic growth. In the end, the focus will be to achieve meaningful
solutions to important issues of today and the future. Your letter is helpful in
letting me know which issues are of priority for you.
Again, thank you for contacting my office. I look forward to hearing from you
on future matters of interest or concern.
Sincerely,
Ric Keller
Member of Congress
