Hi jeff
..the term "stopped out," I think of a stop loss that's been hit..
That IS the only way I use a stop. I do not make targets. I often (not always) install a trailing stop to prevent an unexpected reversal from taking away gains.
Basically, I look to close a position (say a Put) by looking for indicators to say "buy calls". When that notion is deemed good, away from the puts position I go. I let the indicators define, not me making a target some distance (unknown) in the future.

smartone, BABA puts looking good.
Kiss, Take a look at FB.
Marz recenbtly bought 124 puts at .38. Here is a place to see maybe why he did and later we might see success or not.
The stock is high, near the HOH. Maybe too overbought. Look at the volume QUE on that strike.
LOD the 124 puts was .28 and last trade was .32
The stock has added another small white candle.
Hi Kiss,
My approach on entering options scalp attempt is based to a large extent on the group of indicators on a 5-minute chart of the underlying, with occasional peek at the 15 minute and daily.
What I did not mention is that I also watch the bid/ask volume and prices of the particular strike I'm expecting to buy for a while before the stock indicators have matured toward a likely buy decision. What I'm looking for there is what the actual buyers and sellers of the option are doing. Hard to follow, but useful when one gets accustomed to the "games" some of the traders are playing, fakes, etc. It exposes why the options trades often do not immediately follow the path of the underlying.
Finally to your question regarding the exit. Basically I'm looking for a calls indication when I am looking to exit puts and the reverse on calls of course. The idea here is that if the underlying indicators are favorable for calls, perhaps it is no longer time to hold puts. My whole thing, buying and selling options is looking for reversals. That's what the family of indicators in my set are selected to do. People ask me what my targets are. I do not know. The indicators often do not shed much light on that. Matters such as "seriously overbought" may suggerst a reversal of considerable extent. But be careful, maybe not.
Take a look at these charts

RSI diving through 50
WSm%R diving to 50
Two consecutive red volume candles
MACD histogram topped and lower
Sto's 5,5 and 14,3 diving from peaks over 80
Accum/Dist, Chiken Osc, and OnBalVol down from early session.
Nice set of indicators, but no guarantee of extent of the expected decline.
Edit: Indicators are well into oversold. I am watching for bottoms/upward reversals to signal exit.
Last trade this strike was 1.20 from .71 entry, equals plus 69% gain so far.

Hi Kiss, I know the name Aroon Oscillator. I have not studied the underlying algorithm, and so cannot comment.
The chart example you showed is dreadfully lacking in detail and other indicators. Not of use to me. We have to have a good bit of carefully chosen information on charts, information selected after acutely examined experiments. There is no easy way, to hear Roy tell it. On the order of 90% of all wannabe stock and options traders fail completely. It is work.
Success can be extremely large. Can be. It is rarely achieved.
Ask Beerworld. He does not reveal details, but a careful observer over time can deduce the magnitude of his success. I have followed him for several years. He does not do technical analysis in precisely the same way as I do, but it not difficult to observe his results with a "Now I see what he did".
The single greatest fact he publicly revealed was that a certain recent good trade was enough to fund a trip for him and family to Denmark for a couple of weeks. I'm not brilliant, but my 3rd grade math broke that one down.
Besides that capability, he is a sure enough good man to be around.
