Hi Steve...
"I did, I did!" said the wascally wabbit.
Seriously...VLAP has been stuck on 45 for eight weeks and each Monday I've been curious which way it will go..maybe VL needs to hit F9!
Take care...

Hi Tom..
As I remember it..I had Vista and downloaded 7 directly to my laptop. If you have XP it's a little more complicated. I think I saved the application to a usb and then just moved it to 7 which is a 32 bit. I don't recall any problems. But then I don't recall a lot of things!
Take care.

Hi Ken..
Good question. I use the 26 week average for the oscillator since that matches what Tom has used. I started tracking on 7/13/07. Since that time this oscillator has hit a low of -22.66 on 12/5/08 and a high of 12.27 on 5/15/09. Hope that helps.
Take care.

Thanks, Steve. The fact that approximately two thirds of the portfolio is still in precious metals has helped. Plus I've had to pull a number of 'Vealies' since the beginning of September.
I'm thinking December is looking good (seasonally and politically if they extend the Bush tax cuts). Certainly would be a nice finish to the year!
Take care.

Hi TF..
I think Tom has indicated before that the VWave possibly lags up to two weeks. That would seem to make sense with the current numbers.
Take care.

Hi Tom..
Yes, I would agree that it's not your 'normal' allocation!! But something you emphasized at the 2000 get together really stuck with me and that was to annually check the 'macro' picture. In 2003, I noticed that real interest rates were in the negative for the first time since 1980. Metals often do well in that type of environment, thus a gradual change in asset allocation over a two year period until 2005.
Have a great Labor Day weekend.
Take care.
