Any thoughts on dropping DD Westbrook for D. Inman? Another Bear that I may be valuing too highly. Issue is, it appears Dez is going to be on the likely to play side of a GTD, as he is Questionable but reportedly moving well today at practice. Westbrook as of now is still not activated from PUP, so no guarantee he will be by Sunday. If not by tomorrow, I seriously have a decision to make, as I cannot make moves on Sunday.
That said, I am also wondering about Inman's rest of season potential, which is why I am considering him above the usual low ender options on our WW. Remember, 12 Team League, no Roster Integrity and Extra Flex instead of K in this league, so RB and WR wire is extremely thin. When given a chance last year in SD, he showed the ability to get separation and also flashed good hands, two things that have been missed in Chicago this year, so there is a chance he develops into a WR1 in Chicago. Westbrook also has potential to shine, but appears to have more competition for PT and Targets with Lee and Hurns in front of him. Actually considering making this move regardless of Westbrook's status tomorrow, with the hopes that I can stash him this week, but knowing that if Dez is out, I can plug him in and know he will at least get some targets?
With Zeke gone for six weeks, fingers are crossed that Kittle gets healthy over the next two weeks, as I could end playing Engram and Kittle down the stretch. If my hunch is correct, Kittle is going to be a late season stud with Tony G at the helm. He has spent his time learning in a Pats system where going to the TE is the norm and am sure he will be checking down to his TE with regularity. I know San Fran has said he may not play this year, but that is BS. He will be the starter coming out of next week's bye. Plain and simple, San Fran has to know if they want to and can look at him as the long term solution, or if they have to either go for Cousins, or a QB with their 1st pick next year. If Tony G performs as they hope, they can go with Bethard as the back up and take another 3rd to 5th swing on the 3rd QB. Simply put, it would be one of the worst management decisions of all time not to give him multiple games this year to get an idea.
Then you should be golden!
Engram is on the verge of becoming one of those players that is Flex Worth in many leagues. He has done very well for me this year as my starting TE in my Auction League. After spending all my money on RB's, was looking for cheap fliers at many positions and got him for $1. I the last three weeks, he has pulled in 13-15 points every week.
Like I said, I like BP this week, it is just the long term that is the issue with him. He tends to get those nagging injuries when he gets too many touches. That said, the games where he gets those touches that lead to the nagging injuries are usually big games for him.
Clay is a top half TE, so the team that had him has kept him on their roster.
Exactly, but if you get one that has a special talent, they are as good or better than most WR's and many RB's. Ertz is averaging between 13-14 in our league and Gronk and Kelce around 18. Fact is, outside of the top 10 RB's and WR's, you do not see those kind of averages for position players. Of course, you see much more from good QB's. Shaheen if given the chance, could be right there with those three. Give him 6-10 targets a week and he could be a difference maker down the stretch. Just do not know if the coaching staff is ready to do this.
Bilail could be a very good back, but seems like whenever he gets over 15 touches, he breaks down and is hurt for a couple of weeks. That said, if you only need him for this week, good grab.
D. Walker could be a game time decision, so his backup is not under consideration for me. Auction W-Sat, Midnight each day. No moves allowed on Sunday.
Hopefully the need is only this week and Ertz is fully healthy by next week! That said, if I am right on Shaheen, then I may be looking to play both the rest of the way.
Thought about Celek in San Fran, as he could be decent for one week, but Shaheen has me intrigued. It is already a given that Dion Simms is never going to be an Offensive force. He was signed to be their top blocking TE and has done a great job in that role this year. With Miller down, the pass catching TE role should go to either D> Brown or Shaheen. Brown has proven to be decent in the past, but Shaheen has stud potential. He was their 2nd rounder and learning behind Miller. With Miller down, should be time to let him loose, but until they do, impossible to know for sure it will happen. Thing is, if it does happen, then it is already too late, as someone would surely bid at least $10 if he goes out and has a 6-10 target game.
Jesse is available, but has done nothing since Week 1 and 2 of last three games did not even get a single target.
OK, thinking of going all or nothing at TE in my one league. Need a replacement for Ertz this week and the TE selection is grim. You have the players that had the one decent week like Njogu and Howard and a couple others, but then they get very few targets or if they are getting them, not catching them and all averaging around 3-5/week. So, would have to get lucky to get any real points out of any of them and keep in mind, I won last week with Ertz giving me a goose egg due to Philly resting him the extra week to get the hammy right.
So, being from Chicago and having see the potential of Adam Shaheen in Pre Season, I am considering taking a flier on him. I am more likely to get a goose egg from him than many of the TE's on the wires, but there is also a chance now that Z. Miller is done for the season and the O needing a spark that The Bears get him a huge upswing in PT and targets. Real long shot, but "Baby Gronk" as was his nickname coming into the NFL, if handed Miller's role has the potential to actually become Baby Gronk in the NFL. If he were to do that, he could even turn himself into a possible every week Flex player, as I already have a top 4 TE in Ertz.
I am tied for 1st with 6-3 record, so can afford a loss, but even if I get a goose egg from him, might not be a loss, as I won last week with one from Ertz.
In the two leagues I am holding him in, it is 14-16, so only get him if I make the Fantasy Bowl. That said, can you imagine getting to the FB and then facing the team that picked up Zeke and having him beat you??? No way am I playing with that fire. In addition, in my one league, Week 17 is a $100 Free for all, where the highest point total wins the week. So, that alone is reason enough to hold onto him there.
That is Zeke's entire case! He punishment was more of a personal vendetta against him and Jones than a just punishment. I was really surprised the court did not give him the injunction until the case is settled? What happens now if he actually manages to win his case? Isn't having already served the suspension the definition of irreparable harm???
To make matters worse, Goodell and the NFL should have been pushing for him to play until the court case, as the NFL is losing ratings more and more each week. Now, with one of their Top 5 Stars gone for the next six weeks, it can only get worse.
Ouch! Last week was my tough bye week in most of my leagues. Have a few issues with next week, but not as bad as last week!
I do not know how the owners could even be considering letting this idiot stay on the throne any longer? Goodell is a train wreck with his haphazard player treatment. Zeke gets 6 weeks with two police departments and the NFL Investigator saying there was no evidence he committed the abuse and even saying he may have been victim of shake down, while Jarvis Landry gets off with no games "because" the police did not have evidence to charge him and NFL Investigator said noting there? Mike Evans loses a week for hitting someone from behind that was jawing with his QB last week, yet AJ Green who chokes then violently punched another player multiple times last week gets nothing? Can go on, but you already know most of them.
Is our league weeks 15-17 for the playoffs? Most are 14-16.
You cannot dump him. If you were fighting for a playoff spot and had roster issues where you needed his spot, that is one thing. Being pretty solidly in the playoffs, you need to hold him with the assumption that you will be there when he is back. I am not thinking of dropping him in my two leagues where I have him, although in the one league, that now leaves me with DJ and Zeeke on the bench and no IR spot. Things gonna be tight, but on the other hand, got through last week in that league where Bell and McKinnon had byes, so smooth sailing from here, just lesser talent as Zeke had been a stud!
He is not officially out for the year yet. When I speak playoffs, I am talking about Fantasy. I cannot afford to drop him unless I absolutely have to until/unless his year is officially announced as done.
Have to get a TE to replace Ertz. Do I drop J. Matthews, T. Cohen, or D. Johnson. Really hesitant to drop DJ yet, as I just about have playoffs wrapped up over there, so if he does come back, could be my difference maker. Also, thinking Cohen if the Bears actually worked on some plays for him could become a difference maker again. That said, WR is thin in that league, so dropping J. Matthews could leave me with a hole. Although, unless he has a huge week this week, or Ertz hammy does not get better during the bye, should be able to scoop him back up next week.
Since we have a nightly blind auction the next four nights, I can wait until Friday or Saturday to make up my mind. There are not a lot of great options to replace Ertz this week, so may even grab A. Shaheen with a $0 Bid Saturday as a flier. No clue how he will do going forward, but with Miller out for the season, this could be the week The Bears finally give him a full compliment of snaps and if they do, he could become an instant producer that I would want to keep.
We shall see how he does. Rawls has not done much so far this season, so would not hold my breath on him, but you never know. Gong up against a so so Run D, so he could shine. Still think Prosise is the most talented, so just a matter of proving he is healthy. Could se a 50/50 split between the two within next couple of weeks and if that were to happen, Prosise would probably be a must own in most PPR leagues.
As for our league, was ready to drop CJ, but will give him one more week.
That is my fear. Prosise seems like a brittle player, but maybe he just had bad luck to date? Worth holding onto in the league that I am doing so, as really thin out there. 12 Team League with no Roster Integrity, so RB's and WR's are hard to come by. Furthermore, a no K league, but same amount of starters and same roster size as normal, so those two K spots in most leagues are taken up by RB's and WR's.
Also why I am still holding onto Cohen in that league. Hoping they remembered how to get him the ball over the bye week. Would drop him in our league too, but he is my only Bear!!!
Fingers crossed on Prosise. Have him stashed in my one league. He had those few weeks late last year before getting hurt again where he looked like a real difference maker. No one else has really taken over in Seattle, so he has a chance. If he were to get 50% of the snaps going forward, that could easily make him a RB1.
Watson injury pisses me off in our league, as I was going to try trading either him or Brady this week to upgrade WR or RB. Of course cannot now. That said, overall his injury helps me, since I did not have him in any of my money leagues and his presence on the teams in those leagues gave all three teams which all were in the playoff hunt, a chance to make long playoff runs. Now? Not so much. Especially the team in my one league that had Watson and Fuller. Looks like Fuller is going back to Earth quickly with Savage at QB.
Yep, Goodell needs to go like yesterday! He acts out on vendettas against certain players and it is getting old! How AJ Green is not out for at least 2-3 weeks after that outburst is mind boggling. If he is not out at least one week, no player in any altercation should be out, but Evans gets the boot?
Just like going after Zeke, but letting Landry off the hook for basically the same charge, with for all intents and purposes the same "Evidence", or better stated "Non-Evidence" against both.
Somehow pulled of that win!
Also would like to see Drake play well. May need him in my one league if Zeke loses appeal.
Fingers crossed that he does little tonight! Also facing him in our league, which is looking bleak for me.
Need 12 points from Parker to take the yearly weekly high point total, 11 to tie. Sitting at 135 going into tonight. Having Hyde out that last half of 4th probably cost me at least 2-3 if not more, as he was doing well catching the ball. That said, Jay just needs to hit Parker for one pass tonight! 41 Yard TD would be 4+6+3 for 13 and give me the lead. Last year 177 won it and year before 165 and my first year 162, so doubt it will hold up anyway for the rest of year. ON the other hand, all three years had the high score done in the first 9 weeks, so maybe lower overall this year?
Saw that. Hope that does not get him into a funk after the bye!
I am hoping for Seattle game to be over! DO not want OT. Despite not getting Goof for 4th Q, low usage out of Darwa late in game due to blowout, Martin disappearance of why, I am not yet sure, Ertz late scratch, Hyde getting booted for last half of 4th Q for big melee in that game after Bethard hit late and Bryant rolling ankle late in game, I am 15 points up and facing Crabtree tonight. Need Miami D to be tough against him!
Really pissy right now! Martin I believe was benched in the 2nd half, so very few points there. Goff out the 4th Q and the NYG got so far behind, they stopped handing it off to Darkwa. Now, in the 3rd league that I should have won, I need big days by Hyde and Bryant to pull it off. If I would have played Mixon for Martin, I would still be favored. Even more so, that is the league that I did not have an Ertz replacement for today, as I did not think I needed one! ARGH! Other two are already cinched.
Yes, but needed more from them. Wanted the Season High Weekly Score for $100! I guess I still have a shot at it. Current high is 146. I am sitting at 108 and have Elliot, Hyde and Parker going still this week.
Darn it! Looks like Gurley and Goff going to be done for the day!!!!
In the league where I have both Gurley and Goff, 73 points between the two of them! That alone could win some weeks.
J. Goff! A STAR IS BORN!!!!!!
ARGH, another TB turnover. I am hoping they do not pull Martin for Sims being down this much!
Just saw Winston going down. Is that the same shoulder?
Ramsey pushed Green down after a play, then Green popped up and went crazy on him. They both threw punches, but Green is going to face the most trouble. Should be on NFL.Com soon.
Actually in the league that I am playing him in, it would be next to impossible for me to lose the lead. Goff alone with 2 TD's in excess of 40 Yds and 3 TD's total is already at 9 bonus points above and beyond regular scoring. 35 Pts and only at half time. Still have Elliot and Hyde to go later and Gurley going to get more work in 2nd half. Should be cake walk there.
On the other hand, was so happy they did not over turn the TD! Was worried it would end up at 1/2 Yd Line and then Wentz would get the TD, which would have really hurt me.
