Is it Monday yet? Asking for a friend.
MDT bought the shares. No doubt about it. Why would Medtronic give Titan money and then allow ANY company to swoop in and buy roughly 25 percent of the company. Makes zero sense. Does not matter who is announced who purchased the shares. It was Medtronic. Period.
No. Should be single incision possibly through umbilicus. Again, ou cvan always make another incision and insert a trocar for a second person at the OR table to asssist if the surgeon needs help accessing a difficult rea. The smaller platform is what is key.
Good job. Spread the fear.
Looks like a great stock to get into and hold for a while.
Great idea!!!
Well he can spend some more time censoring now that I am aware.
Decided to pop on over to PKTX and ask Sport's thoughts on that stock. Also informed the investors over there to look at TMDI. Just trying to spread the word!!!!!
Is this a good time to jump into this stock
Sport19?
Thought this was the day we blew the lid off of this stock. Nothing surprises me anymore. Unbelievable. Why hide the news of the suitor anymore? Unbelievable the secrecy now.
Thanks for the response Rollgard1.
STUPID QUESTION
Let's say Medtronic owns the 18 million shares. Then Titan decides to dilute as the pps should soar to fund the rest of the timeline to get the robot to market. Why would Medtronic allow that to happen? In essence, Titan would devalue Medtronic's shares. Or would they care? Or would Medtronic help fund the robot the rest of the way?
Thoughts?
I wish you good fortunes!
You got into ISRG at $11.65? I am basically speechless. Jesus!
First image I saw that hit home Jabberwocky was that monstrosity at the top of the page. I think I made a comment a year or so ago. The DaVinci is like having an elephant in your OR room.
We had an operating room at the hospital I was working at that was for vascular surgery. One of the biggest rooms in our 20 room surgical area. It was room 16. Once robotic surgery hit and the hospital knew it could make a ton of money from robotic surgery, The DaVinci got planted in this room. Needless to say, the vascular surgeons were not happy campers. The surgeons felt room 16 was their shrine and nothing else could go in the room. The clinical lead for vascular surgery kept hounding the OR managers to move the DaVinci out of the room. Constant. A lot of heated conversations. Eventually the video console was moved out but the surgeon station and that monstrosity remained in the room.
Can you imagine doing a bifem pipop or an abdominal aortic aneurysm repair in a room with these massive pieces sitting in the room? The other thing that was comical was when there was a MRSA(contact isolation) patient having vascular surgery, the recommendation was to put clean sheets over the DaVinci to reduce the chances of getting MRSA on the robot. Sheets!!!!! After a MRSA case was done, EVERYTHING was wiped down, except the DaVinci robot because I guess MRSA never gets on the DaVinci because of the magical sheets covering them. You can't make it up!
Can you imagine someone trying to gently steer and move this monstrosity out of an operating room and trying to store it safely somewhere?(that does not exist in present day operating room areas). Oops! Sorry boss. I hit one of the robotic arms on the door while trying to move it. It's okay, it will only cost $75,000 to fix it. And,oh, by the way, you are fired.
Sorry for the long commentary but when I see the smaller footprint of the Titan, it just gives me a rosy feeling inside. Smaller footprint, easier to maneuver and a lower cost.
Wow. Just realized I have been in this stock for 10 years. I must either be really stupid or really smart. I thought DaVinci was a joke and a scam when it first came in the hospital. ISRG is $575 per share this morning. Guess it wasn't a joke. And TMDI is $1.18. Interesting.
Hardy har har.
Thank you Rollgard1. Been seeing the same behavior for years. You make a great post then others spin it and nitpick it to death to introduce the fear in you. Reverse split, pps is going to crash, CEO is an idiot, etc. But for some reason, the same characters are here everyday to create the fear. Give me a break. Why would Medtronic agree with the promotion of McNally to CEO if he was an idiot? Reverse split? Come on!
Just sell your shares and move on then.
So dumb it down for me. Why would Titan hide who purchased the $18 million in shares? Whoever bought them, why wouldn't they publish this news to get the pps above $1 for sure and avoid the NASDAQ delisting? Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your background. Appreciate the knowledge you bring to the table. I have owned this stock for I am guessing 7 plus years and have been battling ever since to improve my pps. Never sold my shares and have accumulated more. In for the long haul. Sounds strange but know in my heart it is coming to market and the suffering will end. Good luck everyone! Hold on tight!!! I bought a Nissan Titan to improve my luck. Have since sold it to move to Mexico as it was too large down here. I dream of placing a plaque that reads "THANKS TITAN" on the front of my new hacienda. We will see.
I think the news of Berkshire Hathaway would be better than Medtronic actually.
Curious Rollgard1. Looks like you just joined this group in June. Why the recent addition to the group and where have you been in the last few years? Seems like you are knowledgeable re: Titan. Why the sudden need to join and why sit on the sidelines not contributing these many years?
I call bulls#$^! There is a plan in place. The partnership has already been determined. The buyout has probably already been laid out.
Warrants?
Never filed a QEF. I am both an American and I believe I still retain my Canadian citizenship. Perhaps I am exempt. Guess if I make $5 million on the stock, I am not going to be that upset giving Uncle Sam a few million.
Interesting. The acquisition sale price for Digital was never disclosed.
Funny guy!
Every surgery is different. Some are strictly robotic. Others are hand assisted robotic cases. Some use the robot for a majority of the case and then make a final incision to remove a tumor or part of a bowel. Depends on the situation.
They used to have a morcellator device to remove a large uterus that I believe was taken off the market. Surgeons did not realize in essence creating fajitas out of a uterus, they were increasing the risk of spreading uterine cancer into the abdomen. Robotic surgery again allows you to be minimally invasive. Creating another small incision in order to place a bag and encapsulate the uterus before morcellating the organ is still far better than doing an open abdominal hysterectomy with regards to post operative pain management and recovery time.
I don't think Titan has the ability to do a robotic bowel resection at this point. The goal of any robotic colon surgery is to minimize incision size, reduce bowel manipulation and as a result minimize post operative discomfort and improve discharge times. I have seen the DaVinci in use as a circulator. Often, there is an assistant at the field assisting the surgeon. The assistant can remove one of the instruments from one of the ports or trocars and manually inserted a grasper to assist the surgeon. I guess there could be the potential to use Titan's single port and then create a second incision site for an assistant to help with the case manually. So, in essence, there would be a total of two incision sites. I guess it is better than four. With the Da Vinci, the assistant is also surrounded by an array of robotic arms and has to manuever around them. A smaller footprint will certainly help with the assistant's positioning. It also takes 30 minutes to properly position the DaVinci over the patient, move the cables that attach the surgeon station and monitor tower to the robot. At the end of the procedure, it takes additional time to back the robot, monitor station and cables away from the patient. Once you see a DaVinci surgery taking place in our current operating rooms you will shake your head. It is like moving an elephant around a confined space.
I think the exciting aspect of Titan is the patents. The technology could greatly improve ISRG's DaVinci. It will also help Medtronic's multi port robot. Similar to going from watching movies via Beta as opposed to CDs. The value is in the improved technology. Just my opinion.
Obviously, if MDT or ISRG bought the shares, I would be ecstatic! I guess I would wonder why we would partner with ISRG. I may be wrong but wasn't the point to build a competitor to ISRG? I feel MDT would love to get in the game and compete with this monopoly, especially after realizing Mazor was a great acquisition for them. I guess to me it really doesn't matter. Seems too convenient it took less than 48 hours to get the deal done. Somebody was in the works already. The fact that the shares sold quickly is the more important thing to focus on. Doesn't matter. The fact that TMDI didn't just come out and announce it seems peculiar. Just building interest I guess.
This post made my weekend.
Actually looking forward to seeing your math. You seem to do your research so we have something to analyze.
U smartest.
Everyone is in a unique situation. If your average pps is $8, you are not a happy camper. Some investors are in the green and are feeling pretty good right now.
My apologies. We have been battling this stock at least seven years. The mental anguish has been extremely difficult. In my heart, I knew it would succeed. To see my pps dwindle and my losses mount, got really down. I just knew there was a lot they were not telling us and a lot was happening behind the scenes. We are still down but have been able to add more to get our current pps average down quite a bit. Wish you and everyone luck. It will be a long year but I am confident it will pay off for us.
SPORT?
AND NOT A CREATURE WAS STIRRING, NOT EVEN A MOUSE
So how does tomorrow play out?
Well they sure know how to spark interest. Announce closing of shares but they do not announce who the buyer was. Unbelievable. They will probably announce pre market tomorrow. Cannot make it up!!!
