Well, we are back in the 80's, but I faired much better in the cold weather in NY, than I have here in FL. I know 'northerners' don't understand that unless they have lived here for a while.
People are starting to die around me from the flu. Much worse in the south than the north, though they say it can make its way north soon.
Stay cool/warm. I never take the heat for granted anymore.
Apparently, and sadly, so.
Frozen Fred...
Yeah, I know, but relatively speaking, we have a shocking swing here. Going from 80 degrees this afternoon, to 28 degrees tonight, with a wind chill making it feel like 16. The three-edged sword (yes, I said three): Low temp., Low humidity, and High winds.
Widespread damage expected to crops, plants, pipes, et. al.
It will only last about 48 hours, but by the time we get back to normal (70's) on Wednesday, everyone should be quite sick as the flu is also becoming epidemic & deadly. Jeepers. (What a difference a day makes.)
Will the Packers play?
Oh, sorry. I am Fred.
OK Mike, you should not have the words "Short shorts" and "Baby" in the same sentence when speaking to mnfats...especially with an exclamation point! LOL
People, kids go outside? Those poor kids. A strong wind will freeze them in place.
Hot air rises, but apparently you are too far above the ozone.
Those temperatures do not compute with me anymore. If you can get your sled running, plenty of room down here. Between your low of -13, and our high today of 85, we almost have a 100 degree swing.
What country are you in again?
Hope you're fairing well. Hang in there. You are looking at a balmy 40 degrees by Sunday.
I've been speaking to other NY'ers, and I hope you're stocked up and ready to hibernate like a bear.
(I won't tell you that we are looking at 80 degrees tomorrow, because I don't want you to feel bad.)
oops
Funny I should find that out now. I was a "founder" of the CNBC boards. When they closed, I was referred to RB, and worked with a friend of Matt (Art2Gecko). He brought me over to Ihub, and gave me my choice of a home board (of course, the long-time AMTD board).
Ah, the good old days...
~!Happy New Year!~
Thank you Mr. Bubbles...I think, lol.
Wow, had to strain my brain on that one, though I now recall an old Odd Couple episode that referenced that in the early 70's. I was thinking more on the reference from a more recent Seinfeld. (Although Michael Jackson & John Travolta come to mind, as well.) ;}
Now, I'm glad I'm here.
It is what summer weather used to be here now. About 80 during the day, and 70 at night. No sign of that 'word', or the other extreme (fire). :)
What say?
Wow, a bubble boy.
Indeed.
Word. ;)
That's even a perfect reply to the message I just posted. If I see one more weather report calling for a cold front that drops the temperature to 80, I'm never looking at a weather report again down here. :-p
We can surely do without the constant 90-degree days. Almost November, and we are still looking at some days over 90. Makes me want to see snow...almost. :)
Eight years? lol
Yes, you are correct. Nine years in West Palm Beach, and I only recall one day over 90. Seven years here, and the last two have seen a steady diet of 90. Last winter was the coldest winter I've experienced in FL, and this past summer was the hottest. The climate change is very apparent here over the last few years.
Either that, or outlaw some of the "drivers".
They put in a roundabout on a new road here about 8 years ago. As soon as cars enter it, the people forget everything they know about driving.
We finally got below 90 degrees. :)
