i have to say, even though this week was VERY painful to watch, for me, i was kinda thinking the same thing. it doesn't make any sense to dump a billion shares into the float right now. something else has to be going on. as far as .02-.05 goes, i'll believe it when i see it. but with all the news and events that we knew were coming the price really should have, at the very least, remained stable, not go down. thank you Dev.
so, can you give us the details now?..thanks
all he's suggesting is there's a need to broaden the business plan here. i agree that there's big potential here. but it involves more than just editing videos of established celebrities. with 1000s of amateur bands participating, this could have millions of members and a thriving social network
i agree with you wholeheardedly on this idea.
it would be very interesting if we could see who bought and how many shares. i'm not happy with this at the moment, but suddenly i'm thinking something very good could come of all of this. stay tuned.
thanks Dev, i hope we all do.
"pps...in time...maybe...we'll see..." so is that the best you can say? i've been really hoping this thing was getting ready to turn around. uplisting, the mobile phone app, improvements to social networking...i hope this thing is going to start climbing back.
i think iphone app, improvements to profile page and statement by Tony that all of this will make sense in the next few weeks are the keys. i believe something big is coming very soon that will kickstart the pps.
yeah, but they sure have a nice website.
also, the element of social networking and actually having members of MMX vote on winners could be key to future success.
i think its success is all a matter of proper promotion. ENTI does seem to be getting better promotion now with Britto.
my feeling is that this might be the next major direction for this site and this company. that's why we're not hearing about it...YET. i've been in this thing since april of last year and i've heard all the lines too. this is the first time i've felt like this thing might really start to take off.
i can think of a couple dozen bands here in sacramento that would be all over something like this. every band in america wants to promote their act. it's not like they don't have digital cameras and the ability to provide their own footage for amateur video editing contests. and, if they just had members of MMX voting on the videos it would give a couple of million people a very good reason to join. as i said to Tony, every non-paying member of today is a potential paying member next month.
i already have. if you go back and look at my posts. all i'm saying is, this most recent podcast pretty much addressed every concern and idea i emailed to Tony after the last podcast. i told him the "social networking" aspect of the site made no sense. for instance(which it doesn't in its current form). someone else on this board had the idea a couple of days ago about weekly amateur contests. maybe with local bands from around the country. who knows maybe around the world, for that matter. i've shared the idea on this board of having an amateur class of competition for these video editing contests. i just think more people would sign up if they knew they were competing against someone with non-professional skills in editing. anyway, if you go back and listen to the podcast Tony states "he can't comment" on these ideas that investors have been sending him. why can't he even comment. i think the reason they're upgrading the member profile pages is because they're planning to implement some of these very ideas. i realize it's just speculation, but it makes a helluva lot more sense to me than just waiting on the next contest in May/June. Tony has said all of this will make sense in the next few weeks. i know we've heard this for a year now. i've been around a long time too, but this was the first time i got the idea maybe there is some big new stuff coming. anyway, i was down on this investment and wanting out at .002, but now i'm thinking this could get to .02 - .05 by the time of uplisting.
maybe it's more than a maybe.
maybe there's going to be a reason in the near future. maybe something is planned that will bring lots of new people to the site.
i don't want to start more rumors, but Tony discussed some of the ideas investors were emailing him. i, and i think others have emailed him about, for instance, the idea someone else put forth on this board regarding amateur video editing contests. i think this is a tremendous idea and just what the site needs to kick start it. where he said, he can't discuss these ideas, i think it's reasonable to assume this IS something that's coming too, as evidenced by the improvements in the profile page. people, i'm feeling more comfortable about this investment right now than i've felt in a long time. MMX just might turn out to be the internet phenomenon that we've all been hoping it would be.
how do you actually view it? what program do you use?
Tony did say seo/sem and other announcements in "the next few weeks". let's hope there's a catalyst or two in there.
a backstreet boy is the beginning. and it's a solid beginning. everyone is right about the numbers of fans and eyes coming to MMX. i believe this signifies we're moving in the right direction. i also believe there's more good news to come in the near future.
i've always believed that as they began signing for mainstream and pop artists the promotion would follow at a greater extent. my feeling was that they decided to launch the site with the contests and artists they had signed, but didn't want MMX to become known as the "gangster rap" video editing site. we'll have to wait and see, but i'm guessing this is the first in a line of announcements and hopefully we'll begin to see the pps react. i think you are right, though, about extending the current contests. i don't know if it looks good.
i think this thing has been so beaten down, it will take some time before this news does anything for the pps.
yes, and i believe the news that's coming is going to cause a short squeeze.
this is true. locally a tv news guy went to the AI auditions in San Francisco, did a few interviews and was then escorted off the premises by security. this was all part of his style so he made humor of it, but suffice to say, AI doesn't like competition on their turf without some $$$ upfront.
more than half of the shares sold on friday were sold short. MMs are doing everything they can to keep this price down. i wonder why?
i think they're hiding some big name celebrities in the pop genre for the next several contests. possibly a SP too.
i remember reading that through my own tears and thinking, that about sums it up. don't kick yourself, those were some dark days.
yes but, unless something else happens in the mean time to justify that price, it will just plummet at the get go. can you imagine how many people would be selling at .02 if it opened that high? there wouldn't be any buyers to support that price. my theory is that there is some big news coming. that the next set of performers to work with MMX are going to be more mainstream and that's the reason Britto didn't want to start major promotions until then. i'm not knocking gangster rap, but MMX doesn't want to be known as the "gangsta rap" video editing site. they want to be known as the "music video" editing site. i believe that .02 valuation is based on knowledge of what's coming. at least that's what i'm hoping.
Yes, thank you for posting that!!!
it all depends on what the big news is from Tony. the right news could send this way up and never looking back.
one theory is, wexford made the bridge loan so that if and when this financing went through and there weren't enough subscribers, and neph went bankrupt, that would leave wexford in a position to take sole ownership of the company. then they sell the technology and patents, and pay off the remaining shareholders or something like that. neph is worth more than it's presently trading for. something is going on here. if you don't participate in this offering you're double screwed. the interesting thing here is, any good news right now could drive this back up to .25 or .30 very easily.
thank you. others thought the idea of having more than 1 category was a good idea too. i think it could bring an exponential increase in paid members. i know i wouldn't enter the competition given my skills with video editing. but if i had a chance to compete with peers i might.
i still say my idea about having several categories in which you can enter the contest, one for hotshot pros, one for amateur/fans and one for under 18 would increase the membership exponentially. especially down the line as they get more A list performers. they would all have to pay to enter the contest. i was also thinking having the members vote on the lower categories, so that maybe the top 20 get judged by the panel of judges, would give many more people a reason to join MMX.
Rat2k, i was wondering, did you ever discuss my idea about having several categories or tier for contest entry? i was just wondering, because i think this could really help in making this thing go viral.
that's why i think my idea about having several tiers or classes of competition is the right thing to do. if everyone knows some hotshot video editor is going to win, they're not even going to try to compete. if there's a separate class for amateurs and fans, and maybe one for kids under 16, then more people will be willing to give it a try. also, i was thinking, what with the much larger numbers of video entries from these other classes, what if the members of Musicmatrix.com were the ones that vote on their videos. one of the things i've felt all along is they need to give people more of a reason to join, even at the free level. the free member of today is a paying member next month if they find their membership is fun or interesting. this is the kind of thing that could help us to go viral. it could bring many times as many members.
thank you. i sent it to them, but i'll post it again when there isn't as much going on. i think one of the main people here might be able to get the idea through to Tony.
I had an idea!!! instead of just offering one 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize for video editing, what if, they offered 2 or 3 different classes or tiers of the contest in which you can enter for prizes. in other words, say your a hot shot video editor that's done some professional work and just want to add to your credentials, of course, you're going to want to enter the pro classification or tier of the contest. but if you're just a fan that wants to be involved because you love the artist, you might be inclined not to enter, just because you know you don't have a chance against the pros. then, also, there's the possibility of a 3rd class or tier for young people, say 16 and under. i think more prizes would mean more chances or winning and bring more people into the contests. while the prizes aren't cheap, in the larger scheme of things the cost isn't big to add a few more. has anyone suggested this? if not, it would be good if one of the people here on this discussion forum with some clout suggest it to Tony.
i wonder if vipre is still of the same mind after the ceo interview? frankly, i think he made a lot of sense. this IS going to take time.
even so, i think tony made some good points. investor's need to keep a lid on it for now. if you're in this you're in this. it sounds to me like he has a plan and if we allow him to develop it, this should do well. i've always thought this site had a good business plan, it was just a matter of developing it. right now, we're at the mercy of the MMs. if things go as tony has suggested, this pps could be nothing but a bad distant memory in a month or two. we all need to hang in there.
everything is riding on how this is promoted. if they bring in a lot of new subscribers and some buzz gets going, yes, the pps will climb. it would be nice if tony did one of his recorded infomercials for the investors right about now. leaving us in the dark after the launch is frustrating.
