Your not kidding, in January, I flew into Ft. Lauderdale for a long weekend to do some fishing with some friends in the Keys.
I was amazed as I drove south on I-95, Miami area thru Homestead area, the amount of homes that still had the blue tarps on the roofs.
Kels
Yes they did.....but the EL Nino unexpected strengthening during the summer last year (hurricane season) causing a stronger westerly wind sheer....Now the opposite is starting to occur....a weakening El Nino (weaker westerly winds)....if this pattern continues and ties into the upcoming hurricane season it becomes more conducive for hurricane development.
Go to www.noaa.com to get a better understanding of the effects of the El Nino > impact on pacific ocean temps > impact on westerly wind flow > impact of the Atlantic hurricane season and development.
Kels
Yup...typical fashion...a new guy hits the board....admits that he is novice..but still tries to fire out remarks as a "learning process"......instead of just reading...hanging out...and then throwing out some neutral replies and see what the feedback is.......
Better yet.... if you're out what's the point of throwing out this type info or opinion.... do you want pat on the back....an atta boy????.....
Ahhhhh or is it an attempt to shake things up to get back in at a better price because now you understand the message of the board and you want back in.
Baptism by fire!!!!
Kels
And let me add the going forward predicted weather pattern to this:
Weather pattern is showing signs of switching from the current El Nino pattern to a La Nina pattern....
In lame terms that means cooling of the Pacific waters ocean temps...
Causing a decrease in westerly wind flows just above the equator region...
Causing less wind sheer impact for potential development of hurricanes during the Atlantic hurricane season.
Look at 2004 & 2005 hurricane season weak El Nino, above average hurricane activity....
2006 strong El Nino, stronger westerly winds in the jet stream more sheering below average hurricane activity...
NOAA predicting a potential above average 2007 hurricane season and one of the factors is a weakening El Nino
Kels
In my book that's good for silver....put in the request
Todays price with a hat order is good for a bronze.
Kels
Give it time... IMO today's action was healthy...
Re-visit the HMGP chart back in late Nov-early Dec.
If the goods are there......... it will happen
Kels
cool... you should try for the plate HEMIGI-1 and then we can follow suit 2...3....4....5.....etc.
**Need to substitute I for UY... most states, license plate only allowed 7 characters
Kels
Lowman I'm good for 6, one for each member of my offshore team.
Hell I might even consider re-naming my vessel if Hemi hits my target!!!
Kels
Or how about a special edition Hemi cap;
"Members only in < .05 Club"
Gold platted letters
Kels
Amen!!!
Kels
Lowman..sooner or later it will back fire if they play that game with NVMG.....kinda of like a Robo back in the Hemi days of .20..... ahhhh...... remember him well.
This type of trading technique requires the right stock and (for lack of a better work) skill. NVMG has to much explosive potential to try this type of trading technique....
A wise person would just open a position...set a target for getting back your seed money and ride the free shares. The reason I say set a target for your seed money depends on what % of free shares you want to keep from your opening position.
Oh...... but I guess I'm wasting my breath...once a flipper always a flipper!
Hey speaking of flipper...check out some of the water shows while your down there, Sea World is a great place.
Kels
You spoke to soon....slipped in and closed @.63...Slipping???
This is called the Hemi-churn...you guys are getting either to nervous or to anxious....it just keeps getting better...give it time
Kels
Yup....but this time there is a difference. That last test of .025 was a Friday...today is a Wednesday.
Kels
LMAO...Must be that FLA environment that you are in.....pool side view perhaps!!!
Kels
Yup...some are moving over to other potential emerging O&G's...but my approach is a hybrid one...
Keep the Hemi and start planting some seed money into some other small domestic O&G that have similar fundamentals, potential and business models... AND get in early...it has worked with Hemi and with the right find and homework will work with others.
I call it a "compounding strategy" that helps diversify one's holdings in this upcoming and exciting emerging O&G industry.....
There are so many ways to play this field and so many players to pick from. Just make sure that your DD is complete, back it up with a good game plan and stick to your strategy.
Kels
DF, many of the points that you bring up are the reasons that I opened a position in ALRY in addition to the fact that last week while in Texas (for work) Allenergy was one of a handful of the small emerging O&G that was known by name. In my line of work name recognition is good enough for me.
Thanks for the feedback
GL
Kels
Now you just need to recruit Lowman over hear...I have been dropping the ALRY name hear and there on the HMGP board and to show my conviction I doubled up my (what was) small beginning position in ALRY today with again some HMGP seed money and yes "Gumsomegravy" some of that RGNO profit.
To see a stock respond today as ALRY did in light of the DOW is impressive in fact all the good O&G are currently pretty impressive right now
Rocket I am right there with you...those are 3 of 4 O&G that I hold....Actually DSD got me into looking at ALRY in exchange for a HMGP recommendation to little over a week ago....glad I did,.... some good DD and potential.....reminds me of HMGP when I looked into it back in Nov/Dec, thanks to a guy named Lowman.
Lowman when you have a moment would be interested to hear your thoughts, PM if possible since that this is not a direct HMGP topic and................................in return I'll recommend a Cuban establishment that you must go to for dinner in the Tampa area....the food and entertainment is outstanding and the cigars are A++ (cuban)
Kels
Lowman...make sure you bring the sunscreen to the pool..
In fact after the recent activity with Hemi from Friday - today....maybe some of that sunscreen can be applied here too.
Do want to get to burned!!!
Kels
Agree.
Kels
PF..Don't waste your time with Big what ever.....you won't hear back from him.....
It will take him to long to figure out what you mean when say seed money.......I can see him now....he's out in the yard looking around!!!! And it's still winter........ LMAO
Kels
IMO take out Fridays up wick to .90 and today's down wick to .45 and you have a Hemi chart that continues to maintain its friendly trend appearance.
Notice yesterday Hemi was above the upper band..... same breach of the upper band occurred at the prior .445 high and .36 high earlier this month.............
Each peak was followed by a pull back under the upper band and a churning that allowed the 5MA and PPS to basically meet, or as a chartist would say let the 5MA catch up to the PPS....This is extremely healthy....also it allows the RSI not over heat>90 and to back off to the ~70 level...again note the chart
IMO looking at this chart tells me that .60 is a good meeting place with a going forward 2-4 day churn.
Then what???IMO the next step up... from my perspective until the chart indicates differently.......
THE TREND IS YOUR FRIEND
Kels
Boy you have that right......So far I think mine grew some more today!!!! Of course.....I mean my overall Hemi position...LOL
Actually today's action from a technical point of view may be very healthy....As many of you knew the RSI was approach 90...now it is backing off to the 80 area.....some additional churning would be just what the Dr (Feelgood you around??) would order....let the RSI simmer back to the low 70's area and presto....look at the past Hemi chart behavior since Dec. and what do you come up with???
Also keep DD info posts close at hand or if you are a newbie go back a read DD prior posts
Kels
ok.... we have hammered this topic to death...you make your points...I made mine.....I guess we'll say we agree to disagree!!!!
Lets move on to more productive HMGP board talk because the good Hemi novel continues to unfold.
Kels
I agree, but as an emerging stock a good management team will demonstrate or communicate its intent, which in itself offers that stability...that is the point I am making regarding "fluctuations" and how Hemi has responded and IMO should continue to respond.
Kels
Yup...it is a way to develop volatility which is an ingredient needed for the MM's to play.
But this is a Hemi and time and time has proven its ability during this up trending since Dec.
Again IMO fundamentals will be the deciding factor and to date we have seen the strength of these fundamentals in HMGP.
Kels
Rocket that just it...there are "normal fluctuations" and then there are cases of Friday and today. Hemi needs a strong base of holders other wise if these type of fluctuations become "normal" then even the long and strong start to consider the "flip"
Even though this is not your typical penny stock....these type of fluctuations are traits that you do not want to be part of if a stock is trying to break from the penny/pinky label.
In the past Hemi has responded properly regarding these issues, just look at Al Kansas post from Friday, and in this respect, a good business move is one the keeps moving with a steady keel.
Kels
Yup..it gets the adrenaline going first thing in the AM!!!!
But yes look where we are now to where we were 1 hr ago and the case of the fundamentals behind HMGP speak for themselves.
Kels
Understand that..... but still you have to consider the motives behind an MM if they are caught in a stock position such as HMGP....some call it the "conspiracy theory"......well whatever the action or reason was.....it creating a great buying opportunity.
My more important question is will Hemi management respond...it is clear they do not want the reputation of a volatile penny stock
Kels
Yea, but look at level 2 at the open and NITE was clearly on the ride of this dip.
Makes you wonder.
Kels
You got that right, today and Friday, at this point the candles are a symmetrically inverted.
Kels
What a round!!!, but we are still afloat and for me 12k shares more to the main fleet.
Now can we fire back??
Kels
Remember the game Battleship....well opening shot..............B - 0.66.......missed
Kels
Here we go....... .06 spread...MM's are coming out of the gate....with more attempts to shake the tree.
Kels
Yup...... in this case long and strong just tightens that noose bit by bit around the MM's neck.
Kels
A quick recap of the highlights of the recent excitement for all the new board members showing up, the plan newbies and just us old seasoned Hemi holders......
Updates provided by Hemi regarding the recent geologists report on just the KS leases;
The drilling program to be implemented and will get some high profile exposure (this in itself is huge IMO);
The other leases that go with the current Hemi business model;
And if you have been here since Dec then you know the list goes on and on......
Keep your eye on the ball, be focused stick to your plan and don't let the emotions get you to hit the trigger finger to soon....
Just remember, or go back and review, what the basic business concepts are that got Hemi to where it is today and where it goes tomorrow...Sound management backed up by good communication, strong business model and experienced O&G personnel both directly and indirectly involved with HMGP.
Still upcoming will be updated production data and IMO the most exciting news will be the Hemi official read on the recent geologists report and the other leases....then the real fireworks begin.
Kels
Day to day watching with out a strategy will eat you up. Keep it simple, that's what I do. Otherwise the boards will get your goat, you will start second guessing your decisions and before you know it you wind up on the wrong side of the fence...Believe me I have done this many times in the past.
HMGP recent performance stands by itself when comparing it to other pinkies....will there be others....probably....... but if you ever played craps then the trick is to get thru the 7's......
My point is play with a strategy, invest with a strategy....For me its do the DD, start a position, pick your first trigger point (up or down)....make your first decision.
If it is up, take the seed money off the table and ride with the remainder to your next trigger. If it is down, don't go beyond your point of tolerance.
Kels
exactly
Yup....I hear ya....but as long as the house controls the $, I think I'll be ok....I'll try and get him to pay in Hemi shares for any capital gains if I can get him to hold for a year I'll offer him fair a conversion rate on profit .85 if he becomes a flipper that rate conversion becomes .5 straight.
By the way I said friend not family!!!!LOL
Kels
Partenkirchen...don't be surprised if Lowman shows up....rumor has it that he may be sniffing around these ALRY grounds.
Kels
