I just want to know why the ACLU is so loud against special rights for Christians and so quiet for Muslims. Special rights in this post = special concessions resulting in either tax payer money's or discrimination in both public and private locations.

Thanks for the heads up. I would apologize but the onus is on Rufus to learn how to write in third person. LOL!
He better be careful or he could find himself to be the victim of circumstance due to his illiteracy. How funny would that be? LOL!
Feds, please be advised that Rufus is posting as "Boss" and wishing harm on a Federal Judge (not sure if wishing harm on someone is a crime though):

I wish that they would finally shoot that SOB, so we will not have to grant discovery, because those 132 subpoena's are going to be some scary chit, I also hope that my brokerage firm has their records in order, if this dam breaks
We have been investigating alternative forms of energy in the private sector for decades. Since this has come into the spotlight, haven't you noticed the pelethora of new vehicles that jumped on the scene?
The Tesla wasn't built or engineered starting 2 years ago.
If you like the Tesla, check this one out: http://www.lightningcarcompany.co.uk/
The big manufacturers didn't just invent and manufacture the hybrids 2 years ago.
GM had an electric vehicle about 20 years ago.
It's all about supply/demand with a mixture of conspiracy that I won't speak to. LOL!
I don't subscribe to the belief that any leaders of any country should be held responsible for what consumers want to use for energy, myself. The free market will sort it out in the end with a little regulation here and there.
Do these fund stocks like the Q's and DIA really consolidate or are you referring to what their holdings are doing? These stocks move based on what their holdings do. I'm not clear on how they are valued though. Obviously, MM's make their markets. But, have these type stocks ever run oposite to what their holdings do because people either start buying "cheapies" or "selling" whatever the case may be?
I was at my son's football practice last night. One of the dads was wearing a T-shirt with a picture of Obama and MLK. It stated the slogan "I have a dream." Then it said, "Change we can believe in." Something like that.
My question is, why is he being thrown in with MLK? MLK was about civil rights for blacks. I thought Obama was running for President. I know Obama is half black but what's the correlation to MLK? LOL!
I don't remember blacks rallying around Alan Keyes: http://www.alankeyes.com/ If folks really want change, they'd abandon the two parties that have been in power all these years.
Hey, my wife told me that she read an article about an elderly couple that went to Mexico and bought some medication from a vet they use to put down animals. They did so because the man has terminal cancer and wanted to decide when to die. Well, the story got out and their house was raided by police to confiscate the drugs! LOL! The man was quoted as saying, "how stupid do they think I am?" I can't find the story though. They bought enough of the youthanasia drug for both of them for when the wife becomes ill. They have older kids that support their decision. Interesting.
And yeah, I'm still a bit partisian and right-leaning. I enjoy reading and studying the other view points though.
One of Mike's best points in that film was that doctors in Great Brittan get bonuses for giving PREVENTATIVE care.
You have to get paid for a service or providing a solution such as medicine though. And for profit. For example, how many break throughs come from Great Brittan in comparison to that which comes from the U.S.?
Lastly, IMO, when arguing who pays for medical or how, I believe you should use your home as a comparison. For example, when my roof get's old and needs replacing, does my homeowners insurance pay for it or do I? Of course it's my responsibility. So if we are paying for "maintenance" on our homes and vehicles, then why shouldn't "maintenance" for your own health be part of that? And to YOUR point assuming you are a legal citizen in the U.S., why should the uninsured be responsible for paying for health care here when illegal folks aren't? You figure out that answer and then we can talk socializing medicine here.
When the argument gets into medical proceedures over 10k like cancer, transplants, etc. maybe we could socialize that aspect while keeping the "maintenance" proceedures pay as you go.
My dad died of cancer in 95'. Man, it killed him within months of finding it. In the end, insurance dropped him and left my mom with around 20k in bills. But the doctor wrote that completely off the books! Maybe the socialized solution could be significant increases in the value of tax deductions for medical doctors?
Get the discussion out there. BUT we HAVE to solve the problems of illegal aliens abusing the system first the way Canada and Europe have.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that in some areas of Iraq, living conditions are worse depending on your heritage. And in other areas, living conditions are better depending on your heritage.
Hell, Soul Washer thinks that whitey in the U.S. is racist? He should investigate what happens abroad. Especially in Africa. LOL! And a lot of that racism/bigotry isn't even based on skin color.
I admit it. I was one that was against Clinton's actions in Bosnia because I didn't like him. LOL!
It seems that isolationism is the way to go. I hear about the crap that goes on in Kenya almost every day. Much less, other more violent nations in Africa. I'm tired of hearing about it. They need to pick up guns and handle business or die. We shouldn't be sending another U.S. dollar to any more 3rd world countries. No more aid. Keep it here. In fact, if we can agree to tighten borders, stop the international charities, and tell the UN to go f themselves when they ask for it, I'd support redirecting that money to social programs in the U.S. LOL!
Did you see Mike Moore's documentary called "Sicko"? Man, that was a good vid. BUT, Mike proved MY points on social medicine. One example - At the end, there is this American girl suffering from cancer. She can't afford the drugs. So she went to Canada to buy them cheaper. She tried but she had to get out quick because the police came. See? Canada does PAY for illegals coming over to use their system like the U.S. In the end, that same girl did FOLLOW CANADA'S RULES and shaked up with a "friend" which made her eligible to get the medication she was after.
This stood out so I stopped reading:
Waleed: During the Iraq –Iran war we didn’t feel a direct effect from America. Maybe they were selling weapons to both sides. As an Iraqi person I didn’t blame the United States when they attacked Iraq in 1991 because Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait and he gave them a reason to attack Iraq. But when the immoral economic sanctions were imposed we hated America so much because usually in economic sanctions it is only poor people who will be effect, while the rich people can arrange there lives.
JM: You have written that many people in Iraq do not believe that there are peaceful people in the United States because they have observed the United States invade other countries. And now the US has invaded Iraq. Tell me more about this.
Waleed: When we were young we read about the history of United States and how they invaded Vietnam, Cuba and Nicaragua. How they killed the American Indian, dropped an atomic bomb on Japan, and gave support to Israel to kick out the Palestinian people. Many Palestinian people came to Iraq as refugees at that time. And recently the US has invaded Somalia, Afghanistan, etc… So, we have been saturated by this image. Added to that is that there are no direct relationships between US and Iraqi individuals and very few Iraqi people can believe that there are good people in America.
So the Iraqi providing the interview earlier recognized that sanctions agasint Iraq (Saddam, really) came from the U.S. and UN. But in the first italics, he blames the U.S. for the sanctions and not the MAJORITY UN COUNTRIES.
Invading Cuba example leaves out the Soviet Union threat at that time.
The bombing Japan example leaves out the fact that Japan was slaughtering the Chinese (which we didn't really care at that time) and that Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
The Palestinian example leaves out the fact that their leaders supported terrorism against the Jews/Israel and that the Palestinians were kicked out of neighboring Saudi Arabia for one.
The Afganistan example is simply ridiculous. No mention of the 9/11 connection what so ever.
Frankly, if Waleed is studying to be a journalist and that's all the facts he's willing to state regarding U.S. actions, he'll fit in perfectly working for CBS or MSNBC. And his lack of willing to understand the "why's" makes even more sense.
Before 9/11, especially when Clinton bombed Somalia and Bosnia, Republicans were isolationists. Keep the U.S. out. Why are we there? Etc. Now with our attack on Iraq, those same Republicans (which I was one) supported nationalism and liberation. It depended on the president at the time. Though I still agree with Bush's decision on Iraq, my hindsight brings me back to the isolationists point of view though.
The only point I see from this interview, and Americans in general, is that the U.S. is still number 1. Why? Because regardless of what the UN does decision wise, the U.S. takes the blunt of the critisizm. Regardless of what goes wrong in the world whether the U.S. is involved or not, the U.S. President takes the blunt of the critisizm (See Clinton and GW for recent examples). Regardless of what f'ed up policies a 3rd world nation lives by while the UN supports it (see Africa), the U.S. takes the blunt of the financial responsibiltiy.
Maybe we should go back to being isolationists. Stop the charity work immediately. Strengthen our own dollar. And start playing the arm chair tough guys critisizing Russia, France, and China whenever (if ever) they decide to help liberate or finance a screwed up country.

I have a relative (by marriage) that works with the electric company in California. He works in a niche that promotes solar and green houses working closely with builders. This niche also includes electric car solutions/stations. He advised that one of their visions is allowing technology in electric vehicles that would send electricity back to the grid from these cars after they are fully charged. Pretty cool stuff but I couldn't tell you how far this vision has gone at this point.
I conceed that I don't know enough to debate the efficiencies between coal and natural gas. I'm guessing natural gas is cleaner though.
Regarding automobiles, I think electric is the way to go. I heard Mr. Pickens talking about using natural gas as an alternative. And Pickens is tied to big oil anyway. Go with electric, IMO.
LOL! Is McCain really telling people NOT to inflate their tires and get tune ups for their vehicles? I've read plenty of articles that suggest the same to increase gas mileage. If McCain isn't supporting that, well that's just diabolical.
I was thinking the same thing earlier today. Definitely something to take notice. But I believe that the high prices of gas are locked into higher prices which will hurt the economy for months to come. Of course, I read this opinion a few weeks ago but I agree with it. LOL!
I doubt God has based someone's place of eternity off of their individual belief or faith system.
I doubt God would knowingly give us the power of thought and at the same time place a bet with a mistake, some refer to as Satan, knowing the outcome already resulting in human suffering and damnation.
If you believe God would do that, you would also have to believe that the odds are pretty good that he'll do it again betting with another fallen angel later on.
You see, the Biblical God has a gambling problem with his property. He doesn't mind losing a bet to the Devil resulting in a couple billion people spending an eternity in Hell. It wasn't just Adam and Eve though (thus the rest of us, LOL!).
Remember Job? Well, the Devil came to God and said that Job would rebuke him. God said I'll betcha he won't. The Devil said he'd take the bet. God set the rules though as a God would. God told the Devil that he could destroy Job's life by taking his family, money, cattle, and slaves. Job really lost the bet but since he didn't rebuke God, God was so happy that he blessed Job x's 7. Yes! hallelujah and Praise God!
Jesus was much kinder to people though. Jesus was far different than God who is vain, vengful, unwilling, selfish, a murderer, supporter of slavery, shovinist, flexible when convenient (See King David), and had a mad gambling problem (No wonder Satan started questioning God and got kicked out of the club).
Jesus represents what I believe God is for the most part. However, Jesus still never spoke against slavery and even provided guidance on how to treat slaves. But what Jesus did in the stories is not unique. Prophesies came true for other gods as well. For example, the prophesies describing Jesus's death and resurection could have fit Dionysus and Osiris whom were written about before Jesus.
That being said, I'm a Deist. But I respect other peoples' beliefs as well. However, I can be a bit blasphemous and irreverant at times.
Why do people come from different cultures to the U.S. and then complain about not getting special concessions? I hear Canada is very tolerant. LOL! My apologies, Canadians.
I don't think Jesus was made up any more than Buddists think Buddha was made up. Or various Egyption Pharoh's for that matter.
We don't have enough proof to determin what happens after death.
Portland! You make fix your Muslim problems by letting the tax payers there pay for a Jewish Rabbi to make your public pools kosher. LOL! Then you won't have the Muslim women asking for special concessions that discriminate against male life guards.
This is awesome. Finally someone stepping up and giving a thumbs down to special rights for Muslims:
http://wweek.com/editorial/3438/11308/
A group of Somali women have asked Portland Parks and Recreation to accommodate their Muslim faith by allowing an after-hours, women-only swim time at a city pool to be staffed only by female lifeguards.
The city’s response?
No way. Anti-discrimination employment law won’t allow it, Deputy City Attorney Lory Kraut wrote in an 11-page memo to the parks bureau June 23.
But that’s not the end of it—at least, not yet. The Somali women are pressing the city for another solution.
They’re not alone nationwide. Other public and private institutions are wrestling with how to rework rules that don’t take into account some Muslim women’s values concerning modesty.
The larger question is, how far can and should Portland go to adapt its policies to immigrants’ religious and cultural practices?
Kayse Jama, executive director of the local Center for Intercultural Organizing, says Portland should be flexible when it comes to following rules that have the unintended consequence of excluding new communities from public spaces.
And that’s exactly what’s happening at Portland’s 13 public pools, according to the group of Somali women led by Lul Abdulle.
Somali women don’t tend to use the city’s public pools because doing so would require wearing bathing suits in front of men who aren’t members of those women’s immediate families—a practice that goes against some Muslims’ religious customs.
In response, Abdulle and others from the Somali Women’s Association earlier this summer proposed renting a public pool—after normal business hours. They wanted to arrange to have a female lifeguard on duty and to shield the women and girls from public view by hanging curtains or other shades around the pool.
“This is a no-brainer,” Jama says. “When cultural or religious issues arise, it’s important that we accommodate them. It sends a message to these communities that they’re welcome here.”
Of course, the rest of the story goes in support of bending the rules to endorse Islamic law. I wonder what's next? What about the anti-discrimination laws protecting gender while these women want to prevent male life gaurds from working?
Where is the ACLU who fights any type of tax payer funded Christian activities/monuments, etc.? I'd like a front row seat to that grudge match! LOL! Sadly, it won't happen.
Without an attorney, IMO, whatever shows up ends up in the garbage. How funny would it be if it ticked off the judge just a little so as to recommend a harsher punishment? LOL!

OIL DROP BRINGS NO RELIEF TO THE PUMP

Motorists who have watched the price of crude oil drop 15 percent in the past three weeks while the average price at the pump has come down just 3 percent are getting drilled, two leading energy analysts claim.
The two claim that owners of the US's 160,000 gas stations are not dropping retail gas prices in line with the drop in oil because they want to fatten their anemic margins.
"Of course, motorists are getting hosed," says Weeden & Co.'s Charles Maxwell, who's known as the "dean" of energy analysts.
"The dealers at the pump will often wait several days before passing along the drop in crude prices - and I don't blame them," Maxwell said. "If their competitors aren't going to drop the price, the dealer isn't."
Jeff Lenard, a spokesman for the National Association of Convenience Stores, whose members own 2,200 gas stations, admitted that some of his members are slow to drop pump prices as oil prices fall.
"They need to make money, otherwise they won't be in business," said Lenard.
"We wouldn't look kindly on gas stations not passing along a drop in the price of oil," says AAA's Robert Sinclair.
"The chart and data we gathered absolutely proves that as oil goes up gas rises at a faster rate, and as oil goes down gas falls at a slower rate," says Gerry Mastrianni, managing director of the Florida-based trading firm. "The reason is price gouging at the pump."
The price of oil rose to $125.10 a barrel on Friday, falling from its July 11 high of $147.27. The average price of a gallon of unleaded gas dropped to $3.96, according to the US Dept. of Energy. It hit a high of $4.34 on July 7.

That's just it. I don't believe a just God would reveal himself to authors of a supposed "holy book" to create a system of religion leaving out cultures from most of the earth's continents. If you study other cultures, you find that many of them have a story of a deluge and their own heros that saved man through it. Interesting. What kills me is that the Bible so closely plagerizes many pagan religions that predate it. Such as Osiris and Dionysus. The picture is not of Jesus but of Dionysus.
The myths that predate the Bible are what finally did it for me. No system what so ever. It's a personal relationship that should not be put into a finite system. Religious systems can't be done without hypocrisy.

Anyone really surprised? LOL! That's right up there with Obama taking the black votes.
He tried. Does ANWR ring a bell? But the anti-drilling crowd didn't think Elks were capable enough of migrating 10 miles north, south, east or west and were in danger. LOL!
We'd be generating oil from that area by now if not for the radical left.
No verses scared me away from God. I simply grew up reading the Bible and believing in Heaven and Hell. Neither made sense as a "just" reward for believing in God correctly or not. It took a while into my teenage years to abandon those beliefs. From there after reading further on other religions, I came across Deism. I found that Deism fit my belief in God. That being, God does not reveal himself through men such as the Bible. To believe that, you must have almost the same amount of faith in the authors as you do God. I don't believe God would chose to reveal himself in a finite system through men. I believe God would only reveal himself to the individual through reason and thought. And, I don't believe in any Devil or Satan. Logically, if God is perfect and all knowing, you can't believe in an angelic mistake. I believe the Devil was made up by man to be used as an excuse for acting human. The Devil is the only way that most extreme religionists (whatever sect) can rationalize why someone would act outside of said religionists' rules. Lastly, what better way for a King who wants to control his peoples' beliefs/culture than to threaten an afterlife of torture if the subjects don't comply? In the name of the King. In the name of God.
I don't know if anyone's read "Memnoch the Devil" by Anne Rice. If you really want to know my thoughts on God and the Devil based on the Bible, read that book. Anne Rice wrote almost exactly how the Bible defines God, his creation and the Devil.
Not at all. I believe we answer to someone; mainly ourselves. Because, I believe in God. I believe s/he's a just God. And I believe that we have reason and thought to use as circumstances dictate. We know that Jesus didn't teleport himself to North America, Asia, or Europe for that matter. Belief in God is one's personal relationship not to be forced on anyone else. What one culture deams acceptable may not to another and is not a reason for cruel punishment.
I believe religious texts in general are written by men for convenience's sake. Nothing more. Some passages may be inspired by the author's personal relationship with God, sure. But it has no business in acting as though God created all men to be and think the same. God did not make a mistake in creating us different. And there's no man-made text that's going to fix a percieved error.

It's not a question of whether or not I like what the books says. I'd love to see the movie, really.
The question from the beginning of these threads is why religion loves war. We find out why in the Bible. God promotes both war and death.
BTW, If God would burn to death soldiers of an opposing tribe/army because of their paganism or culture, whereas I wouldn't, does that prove that my love for man kind surpasses God's?
If God would create an eternal torture chamber (Hell) for non-believers, whereas I wouldn't even consider that, does that prove that my love for man kind surpasses God's?
Think about that for a microsecond. To read the Bible without the organized influence of the church, you get the impression that Satan is on our side. LOL!
Does God answer prayers? Oh yes he does!

God Answers Prayers Of Paralyzed Little Boy
'No,' Says God
God Vs. Devil Kill ratio:
God - killed enough people to cover the earth with corpses.
Devil - Zero
“And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried, they shall be dung upon the ground” (Jeremiah 25:33).
Who's evil? What's that definition again? LOL!
God loves to kill (He condems interratial marriage as well see #3):
1. How many men did God kill because someone decided to peek into the ark of the Lord?
(50,070) “And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter” (1 Samuel 6:19).
2. How many men did Moses kill in one day because they failed to say they supported God?
(3,000) “Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. And he said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor. And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men” (Exodus 32:26-28).
3. How many people did God kill in a plague before someone pleased God by ending a mixed marriage with the murder of the couple?
(24,000) “And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand; And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel. And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand” (Numbers 25:6-9).
4. How many animals did Solomon kill in a sacrifice to please the Lord?
(120,000 sheep and 22,000 oxen) “And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offering, which he offered unto the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord” (1 Kings 8:63).
5. How many Israelites did God deliver to the people of Judah to slaughter?
(Half a million) “Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand. And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men. Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers” (2 Chronicles 13:15-18).
6. Notwithstanding the above, how many people of Judah were once killed or enslaved because they didn’t give God his due?
(120,000 valiant men were killed and 200,000 women and children were taken as slaves (not to mention the theft of property.)) “For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah an hundred and twenty thousand in one day, which were all valiant men; because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers. . . . And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them” (2 Chronicles 28:6-8).
7. How many Ethiopians did God kill for His chosen people?
(One million) “And Asa had an army of men . . . And there came out against them Zera the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand . . . Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power, help us, O Lord our God . . . So the Lord smote the Ethiopians” (2 Chronicles 14:8-12).
8. Speaking of God’s chosen people, how many kings were maimed in God’s name?
(70 had their thumbs and big toes cut off.) “And they found Abonibezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and Perizzites. But Abonibezek fled; and they pursued after him and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes. And Abonibezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me” (Judges 1:5-7).
9. How many soldiers did God burn to death with fire from Heaven because they confronted Elijah?
(150 (three sets of 50)) “And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. Again also he sent unto him another captain . . . And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty . . . And he sent again a captain of the third fifty . . . Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties” (2 Chronicles 1:10-14).
10. By the time God gets through with his killing spree, how many dead will there be?
(Enough to cover the entire surface of the Earth.) “And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried, they shall be dung upon the ground” (Jeremiah 25:33).
LOL! Dude, I grew up in a Baptist household. Let me share some scary verses with you. Check the chapters around these verses (for context purposes) and tell me the Bible doesn't call God a liar, murderer, shovenist and his prophets high on acid:
Numbers 21:6 - And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. (Wrath of God)
Isaiah 34:7 - And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. (Isaiah prophecy)
Psalms 137:9 - Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones. (regarding killing Babylonian children)
Malachi 2:3 - Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it. (God tells Priests what will happen to them if they do not hear God)
1 Timothy 2:12 - But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (God's idea for women)
2 Chronicals 18:18 - 21 - Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left. 19 And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner. 20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? 21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so. (Story of God sending a spirit to lie to a king)
Oh yeah, God loves slavery as well. Jesus did to!
“Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward" (1 Peter 2:18). "Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ" (Ephesians 6:5).
“And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money” (Exodus 21:20-21).
“And when the Lord thy God hath delivered [a city] into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword: But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the Lord thy God hath given thee” (Deuteronomy 20:13-14).
God loves to Kill! How?
1. Which of the following are among God’s methods of punishing those who break His commandments?
“But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments…I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes…I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle” (Leviticus 26:14-22). “If thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments…The Lord will smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish…The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed. The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart” (Deuteronomy 28:15-28).
2. How does God handle people who make Him jealous by having a religion different than ours?
(“They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up...And he said...They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger...For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust. The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs” (Deuteronomy 32:17-25). “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel” (Psalms 2:8).
3. How does God kill whiners?
“And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp” (Numbers 11:1).
4. How does God prefer to torture those who somehow become enemies of His chosen people?
“God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations of his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows” (Numbers 24:8). “Moreover the Lord thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed. Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the Lord thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible” (Deuteronomy 7:20-21). “And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood” (Isaiah 49:26).
5. How does God kill those who vacation in Egypt?
“And now therefore hear the word of the Lord, ye remnant of Judah; Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; If you wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there; Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which ye feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof ye were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die. So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them” (Jeremiah 42:15-17).
6. How did God express his hatred toward people living in metropolitan Babylon?
“How is Babylon become a desolation among the nations. A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: and sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed” (Jeremiah 50:23, 37)
7. When a community’s sins really make God mad, how does God find comfort?
“Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord God; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity. A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted” (Ezekiel 5:11-13).
8. Whom does God slaughter when He gets jealous because a community is worshiping someone else?
“Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up” (Hosea 13:16).
9. How does God punish promiscuous folks, like men who have sex with both their wives and mothers-in-law and daughters of priests who sleep around?
“And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you” (Leviticus 20:14). “And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire” (Leviticus 21:9).
10. In Jesus’ time, how did the Trinity deal with nonbelievers?
“And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost” (Acts 12:23). “But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand” (Acts 13:8-11).
Old news. I posted regarding this a long time ago! LOL! Southern Democrats voting for a proclaimed black man with an Islamic name? LOL! Tell me again what votes Obama is actually going to take away from the Republican side?
LOL! Friends? Yeah, friendships about as deep as each subsequent post. As soon as the opinion differ's from the said "friend", see ya in court per Rufus! LOL! You're banned!
The faithful, which I believe would have included yourself, turn on each other faster than... fill in the blank.
LOL! Israel is expanding? Did you know that the Saudi's don't like Palestinians? Any expansion Israel is doing is recovering land from a group that was exhiled by neighboring Islamic states.
I guess forever we'll disagree but I wonder how much free or discounted oil the U.S. got from Iraq since the war? Seems we were better off trading oil for food. LOL! I've yet to see anyone expand on the whole "Iraq war was for oil" idea. Some kind of convenient mantra that sounds good but no examples can be provided to back it up.
My point, and I find it incredibly difficult to believe you don't get this, is that Al Qaeda in Iraq is not Al Qaeda. There is no actual "Al Qaeda" in Iraq.
Hilarious. However you wanna spin it. I won't change your mind.
I think it interesting that many of these "religions" have a Devil. The opposer, or whatever you'd call it. But, not one war was waged in the name of Satan. LOL! Who's evil? In fact, if you believe the Bible, God killed millions of people. Even gave Joshua the free card to slaughter the citizens of Jericho for no reason other than that they were in the promised land.
The Devil never killed anyone.
LOL! Acutally I did answer. It's wrapped up in one word to define what cultures socialism will work: "Homogenous"
You still haven't answered my question. It's like blaming the janitor for the downfall of Enron or the Unions for the stupidity at GM.
Not sure how you equated what I posted to the Enron comparison. But, you can in fact blame Unions for lost jobs and outsourcing to other countries due to artificially raising rates. I can't believe you even posted that. LOL! Didn't you know that GM was moving some production to Mexico? I know because I have a cousin that works for them and will be affected.
Our outsourcing problem isn't due to Capitalism vs. Socialism though. It has EVERYTHING to do with NAFTA. To fix that, IMO, we should impose a tarrif on all outsourced labor to the tune of 95% (combined real pay and the tax to make up the difference) so to even out the playing field and make it a little less attractive to outsource. Also, at that rate, businesses could NEVER pass that cost to the consumers.
I know a guy who owns sewing plants in Guatemala and built a new one in El Salvador about 6 years ago. Guatemala raised their minimum wage so guess what? He is moving all the work done in Guatemala to El Salvador to save about 20% per garment. He can do that because the sites are reasonably close, workers are the same, and there's not a single penalty for doing so.

Actually, Christmas is a Pagan holiday adopted by a ceaser (forgot who) that wanted to entice pagans into Christianity by borrowing their holiday based off the Winter Solstice. Luckily for those pagans (wiccans?), those early Christians chose a more peaceful way to convert rather than war. Same is true of Easter, named after the pagan goddess "Oester" and celebrated during the Spring Solstice. This was celebrated by early pagans for "new life" which meant both animals (hence the eggs) and crops.

This is why the Jehova's Witnesses and some other one-off Christian sects will not celebrate these holidays.
