This is huge news out today for long term shareholders looking back and taking into account all the things that are possible with the farming operation being Rancho Arenoso received a preliminary audit score of 98% for the PrimusGFS certification for Food Safety Management System and Good Agricultural Practices requirements means major farming contracts to come!!

Contel has now established a channel to the US market that allows them to grow fresh produce directly for US importers. Leasing land for agricultural use can be very lucrative, but growing produce on the land offers significantly higher returns. We did not expect Contel to gain access to this point of operations so soon; however, this opportunity has been presented by 2 buyers with immediate demand.
As a producer, Contel will be able to grow more than one cycle per year, depending on produce.
Example: Onions in Baja average 20-25 tons per acre with a 3-4 months cycle and $150-$200 per ton, or $3,000-$5,000 per acre/cycle. Garlic, in contrast, is a lighter type of produce containing less water with a longer growing cycle of about 6 months, fetching a much higher price per ton; a typical yield of 8 tons per acre gives a value of $500-$1,000 per ton, or $4,000-$8,000 per acre/cycle.
The example above should be compared to previous leasing estimates of $800-$1,200 per acre for a whole year.
Contel is preparing operations for January seeding on the farmable 150-acre portion of the first tract of land, and the first harvest is expected for May/June 2017. Initially, a generator will provide the power needed for direct irrigation. Solar power will later replace the generator, and drip irrigation will be connected to a gravity reservoir, making the farm totally “green.” This first tract of land will serve as a showcase property.
ProGreen will provide the financing as stated in our JV agreement with Contel from February 16, 2016, stating that profits will be shared equally between the parties after ProGreen first recovering its investment.
Contel controls an abundance of land with the options to increase the growing operation, leasing land, partnering with other growers, etc.
This development is a great step forward, creating new and varied opportunities to accelerate growth.
Statistics from the U.S. Department of Agriculture show that Mexico by far is the most important supplier of fresh produce, accounting for 69% of U.S. fresh vegetable imports. U.S. imports of Mexican fresh vegetables amounted to $4.05 billion in 2012, as compared to 4.8 billion in 2015, an increase of approximately 6% per year.
This blog update now reminds me of why this new land within walking distance of the Arenoso farm is such a huge opportunity for us!! Rancho Arenoso received a preliminary audit score of 98% for the PrimusGFS certification for Food Safety Management System and Good Agricultural Practices requirements of our produce we will grow much more than just peppers for Huy Fong!!
ProGreen Subsidiary Closes on the New 2,500-Acre Land Purchase
“This purchase, as with our purchase of the Cielo Mar land, was made possible through our strategic relationship with the land owners, whose interest in the land is maintained through Contel’s minority stake in Procon,” explained Jan Telander, CEO of ProGreen.
“The purchase would simply not have been possible otherwise. This is very much a win-win situation.
Just a short walk from the existing Arenoso farm, this land provides an incredible opportunity to expand for large-scale production, with over 1,000 acres expected to be farmable. But we also see this land supporting sustainable living within Cielo Mar and the local region, through farm and ranch operations for cattle, dairy, poultry, pork, and a variety of fresh produce for local consumption.”
“There is more here,” Jan added. “Land that is not farmed will be perfect in this location, with such a beautiful landscape, to support eco-friendly tourism, country living and outdoor activities with cabins, ranches, a rental/tour/travel office… ranch retreat… equestrian and hiking/biking trails… off-road adventure touring – what many people around the world think of, when they think of Baja California!”
I’ll continue to load and hold as these discount prices the top is soon to blow off this as Jan continues to grow the company and add to shareholders value!!
200K in revenue from the crops last year compared to 50k a week this year for over 1 Million in revenue for them.. Looks like Jan has turned a 500% increase in farm revenues not bad for just starting..

PGUS ProGreen Farms™ in Baja California Now Shipping Fresh Produce to U.S. Market
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ProGreen US, Inc. (ProGreen) (OTCQB:PGUS), is pleased to announce that red chili peppers from the ProGreen Farms™ operation in Baja California are now being delivered to Huy Fong Foods, Inc., maker of the original Sriracha chili sauce, in Irwindale, California.
"The first truckload of just over 20 tons was delivered on August 9," said Jan Telander, Chairman and CEO of ProGreen, "and we're on pace for five truckloads or more, valued at roughly $10,000 (USD) per truck, to be delivered weekly and continuing through the fall."
The Company's U.S. distribution subsidiary, ProGreen Farms US, LLC, imports produce from the Rancho Arenoso farm, located near El Rosario, Baja California, Mexico. ProGreen Farms™ Rancho Arenoso is growing chili peppers on the approximate 100 acres currently being farmed, and has plans for diversifying the operation with other types of produce for U.S. buyers as it expands onto the nearby 2,500 acres that ProGreen's Mexican subsidiary, Procon Baja JV, just acquired in June.

Separately, WQS Group (World Quality Service, or WQS, LLC) representatives visited the farm on August 1 & 2 to perform an independent third party audit to certify the operation, and Rancho Arenoso received a preliminary audit score of 98% for the PrimusGFS certification for Food Safety Management System and Good Agricultural Practices requirements. It's great to see the deeper interest in understanding ProGreen. It tells me that, no matter whether the interest is for long-term investing, flipping around a core position, or simply a short-term swing trade, ProGreen is beginning to draw a crowd that is thinking about more than just a one-off momo trade.
The long and short of what follows: It's pretty clear that produce harvested THIS YEAR will show on our books. Last year's harvest did not get billed through any U.S. entity, it was done from the farm in Baja. So it would not show on PGUS books as revenue. Instead, we did not "see" the $200K at all last year. What we "saw" on our books was a partial repayment of $50K for funds "loaned" to Contel for starting up the farming operation. The remaining $150K of the $200K in revenue generated from the farm went to operating expenses for the farm.
As described and shown in various docs on the company website as well as blog updates, etc., last year was a "development" year. The farm operation was essentially a "prototype" or "pilot operation" as I think it was stated. Like any business development activity, initial costs are MUCH higher than long-term, ongoing costs, because it's a "development effort." Once proven and successful, it can be replicated and then multiplied to produce lucrative returns for stakeholders (that includes US: shareholders). Last year was VERY successful, in multiple ways. Maybe not what near-sighted momo penny stock players are looking for in a shoot-the-moon get-rich-overnight scenario, but it's the next best thing, IMO, and without the considerable risk of those crappy-ass BS momo PnD stock plays.
So NOW we are generating revenue at a rate of what, 5 truckloads at 20 tons each, every week, for 100 tons per week and $50K per week, versus what? $200K for all of last season (which was our 'pilot' operation?)? This is pretty F'n phenomenal in my book! To see Jan pull this off - a successful 2018 harvest of $1.2M after just starting this farming operation last year... NOT like any other real estate penny stock I've seen!!

You can see from these slides that (FarmsUS) was set up to "handle sales/distribution of Contel's produce" (translated, I think this means that it was set up to "handle the money in the U.S." so that the revenue goes on our books).
