>>>Kanya - do you have any visibility re Siemens ? Is it a live project for Sigma ? <<<
Yes it is, just see the attached presentation sh 22:
https://seekingalpha.com/article/4269070-sigma-labs-sglb-presents-ld-micro-invitational-confeence-slideshow
BTW: the GE Fuel Nozzle story is used many times in that presentation...
may be GE Additive was using 4.0 and now testing 5.0.
Remember: GE Additive is acting with absolute secrecy, first they take over Morris and after 5 years CL and Arcam, is Sigma Labs next?
Will Siemens and Materialise be happy with such a scenario?
Who will be the winner of that a take over battle >>> Sigma Labs!!!
also part of that presentation:
...the industry must have the means to assure high quality, part by the part.
The industry will be forced to adopt In-Process-Quality-Assurance!
Sigma Inside
blinko777 >>>anybody know pricing per seat for PrintRight 3D product? <<<
around 100k$ per system (hardware and software)
>>>Yep, The fact that they haven’t been able to do it. <<<
The Holy Grail is not reached yet and on the other hand we see no real competitors for that final market dominating target!
>>>I think they brought this guy in to help handle the sale of the company. <<<
I agree and may be also for some other strategic financial issues...
BTW: good luck with your second wife!
>>>kanya, SIGMA engineers have no clue how to perfect the software. It will take someone from outside. JMHO<<<
...any prove on your ridiculous statement?
https://www.premium-aerotec.com/en/media/press-releases/premium-aerotec-and-lockheed-martin-collaborating-on-additive-manufacturing/
Premium AEROTEC and Lockheed Martin signed an agreement today during the Paris Air Show to explore opportunities to implement Premium AEROTEC’s additive manufacturing processes into the F-35 Lighting II Program.
...we will continue to integrate additional automation and additive manufacturing techniques that will ensure we’re always delivering on our cost, quality and efficiency goals.
>>>Hi Kanya
please elaborate.
Would be good for all to know so that it can be cleared up <<<
...I have eight years production and engineering experience on various management levels for Tantalum and Tungsten metal powder plants in Germany, Thailand, China and Vietnam...
...to feed, screen, recycle, dedust, ensure QA, safety, inertisation with Argon or other gases etc for metal powders is not a new technology and can be easily fully automated...
>>>Closed loop is no holy grail worth paying for until you no longer need a person to tend to the printer in the am printing process. Years away yet. <<<
> Closed Loop is the Holy Grail!
> Fully automatic operation is just around the corner...
> German Connection EOS Daimler Premium Aerotec

>>> AM printing still requires personnel onsite to load the powered metal and other operational work that no printer and no software is capable of doing at this time. <<<
Who told you this story? Any experience with metal powders? I do have...
wickw50, nice approach...
>>>kanya, I’m still hoping that a partnership produces the successful version. Maybe Materialize will.<<<
I believe your wording is misleading, correct would be:
A partnership will use the successful version and may be Materialise can implement the software in there hardware.

I will simplify it more. You are still a research company until you make a sale. SGLB is the only company to have a great result with DARPA and not have an immediate sale or sales. Why? ???
> seven clients evaluating PrintRide3D 4.0 for production lines.
from last presentation of JR:
Aerojet Rocketdyne
Pratt & Whitney
Woodward
Siemens
Solar Turbines
GE Baker Hughes
Honeywell
?????do you think those companies are stupid?????
>>>Sounds like fun. Just trying to make sure there is still any water in the glass at all.:) <<<
Ok I also try to simplify things, structures, systems etc as much as possible.
The reality is sometimes much more complicated regarding to interfaces, competition, interests (similar to competition or keep the value in house) etc etc.
Sigma Labs situation is actually as easy and or complicated as described above:
> dominating software on the market for IPQA IP protected
> machine OEM's try to sell in house developed IPQA to keep value$
> Materialise had agreement with SGLB 5 years ago but decided also to develop in house Inspector software, after 5 years Materialise starts a new approach to implement Sigma Labs dominating software.
> seven clients evaluating PrintRide3D 4.0 for production lines.
anyhow next steps and or contracts will be fun!!!

...the new CFO of Sigma Labs anyhow will be very busy next weeks and months...
>>>blinko777, I would not be worried about whether the glass is half full or half empty, but rather about the glass breaking. jmho <<<
...wickw50 I wonder why we have now a new story that the glass will break, my understanding is that the used glass is unbreakable and the Sky is Blue for Sigma Labs!!!

Nannette Toups
from Sigma Labs website:
Nannette Toups
Chief Financial Officer
Since December 2013, Ms. Toups has served as a contract CFO and provided accounting services to a variety of clients in different industries ranging from geoscience services to medical device development. From May 2008 to October 2013, Ms. Toups served in various financial positions at Qforma, Inc., a privately-held custom software development company, most recently as Senior Vice-President of Finance and Administration.
Prior to joining Qforma, she served as an independent consultant from October 2005 to May 2008, providing a variety of financial, accounting and management services to individuals, entrepreneurs and a non-profit organization. From May 2004 to September 2005, Ms. Toups served as the Controller of KSL Joint Venture, where she was responsible for all accounting and financial reporting activities for the Site Support Services Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory. From January 2002 to April 2003, she served as the Controller and Treasurer of BiosGroup, Inc., a closely-held complexity science consulting company. Prior thereto, Ms. Toups served in various positions at Louisiana Intrastate Gas Company, LLC, including Controller and Transition Projects Manager.
Ms. Toups received her CPA certification in 1984 and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Louisiana State University, and a master’s of liberal arts degree from St. John’s College.
...Sigma Labs is in the process of changing from a R&D to a real company with significant increasing international contracts and relationships.
I remember Nannette was hired by MC to oversee the accounting department at that time and after she was nominated to CFO.
Now the fact is that a much more professional and experienced CFO is needed and the replacement of Nannette is just a very important and logical step to ensure a professional upgrade of the Leadership Team!!!
...and BTW: the Sky is Blue for Sigma Labs!!!
...and congratulations to JR to that wise and timely decision!!!
And strait up we go again, as market fully realizes the recent PRs are confirming the potential of Sigma Labs development...further contracts are imminent...yes Longs will be rewarded nicely...

Agreed sir!
>>>Now, with Materialise, integrating a software solution directly into the controller hardware of a printer, allows for an instantaneous solution for real time inspection for AM.

This is what we've been waiting for.
Everything is lined up perfectly.

DARPA Study Validates PrintRite3D® Quality Control Process for Certification of Metal Parts
https://sigmalabsinc.com/case-study-darpa-laser-powder-bed-fusion-quality-control/
> Sigma Labs’ PrintRite3D® TED® (thermal emission density) quality metric has been independently confirmed as an important, valuable and high confidence way to ensure compliance and certification of 3D manufactured parts.
> Sigma Labs and Materialise are partnering to integrate this inspection tool with the Materialise Control Platform (MCP). The MCP is an embedded hardware solution that answers the growing need for broader and more straightforward control over the AM process by giving full control to the end user. The companies have identified the potential to integrate the MCP with Sigma Labs’s PrintRite3D® real-time meltpool analytics anticipating that the result will be a unique integrated product solution for volume manufacturing.
>>> so just to identify the potential behind that two very significant developments for Sigma Labs and for the AM market:
Post Process NDE will be obsolete in the near future even with a real time 3rd party meltpool analytics from SGLB integrated in the Materialise MCP!
>>>> now the question is how to price the value of the SGLB software:
Just imagine: 2000 sold machines per year with a software price of just 20 k$ would be a revenue of 40 Mio$ per year and this is pretty conventional!
Conclusion: only fools or irritated investors will sell any share at the moment, buy the rear shares now or never!!!
And the other message after recent very significant positive developments is: Sigma Labs will have a very bright future!
No fear here and stay tuned!!!

Digital Manufacturing & Design | Additive Manufacturing
2d
Design for additive manufacturing is more than reinventing a CAD model. It extends further to the design of an additive manufacturing recipe - a recipe of facility, machine, material, printing, and post processes - that is catered to the intended application.
In a study below, we printed an identical blade with 3 recipes that were varied only "slightly" on process parameters. The causal impact on quality was too significant to be overlooked. This is why we are building a digital environment behind AM to capture and control the "relevant data" of a recipe and to ensure predictable quality of additive applications. Stay tuned.
