Thanks for your response. I was referring more to the tone with regard to MC than anything.
Any reasonable concerns should be posted and discussed, and I appreciate your dd and insights on omniquant and other recent events.
have a good night.
Gbathat
Martingale,
I recall from the past that you used to have long conversations with the company by phone. I would recommend doing so again rather than posting negativity on the board. We are all anxious to know the story.
I appreciate all the dd you've done and shared. I hope this stock makes you some more money in the future.
Have a good night.
Gbathat
If you really like your job, it's not work. I may even work more if I make that much money, because I'll have more freedom to do the work I feel most compelled to do.
a long would realize we're probably not going to go to a dollar today.
But by the end of next year, perhaps.
By the end of 2009, hopefully.
By the end of 2010, heck yeah!
We don't know exactly what will happen, but based on the info available to us, many are in for the journey.
Make your own decisions. This is not investment advice.
not me. in for the long haul.
wuddup Bird- thanks for the post
i'm kind of glad to hear that based on previous posts about their poorly maintained website (omniquant's)
thanks for those links no shorts... pretty sure the $3mil from Kauderer has been discussed previously if you search through posts from the past month
10-4 MC, thanks for your insights
I was also wondering if they might taylor different systems to different markets... kind of playing on the idea that if stocks are getting hammered, other commodities might be doing well, etc.
As with many of our questions, we'll just have to be patient. I am really looking forward to learning more about 141.
"By using multiple trading systems trading performance is not dependent on any specific market direction, but rather on the precise micro-second calculations of the automated systems to identify opportunities as they arise in all market conditions."
Any thoughts on this slightly modified statement on the website. It used to say SWARM alone could do this... or at least that was my impression. Now it's "multiple trading systems"... are they talking about fractalz3 or variations of SWARM that are optimized for other markets or something else?
thanks
gbathat

perhaps shares in short supply
after .006, next ask is .015
a few of us have been speculating that mm's have been sending signals that they need shares
all wild speculation on my part, apart from the curious L2 structure right now
perhaps some are privy of things to come, who knows
nothing more than what's on the website, which has been updated a bit recently
http://www.141capital.com
i thought that was quite interesting too...
141 site getting updated
http://www.141capital.com/
sorry no performance record yet:D
But things are moving
MC, sorry no pm, some questions for Paul
-------------
1. Can we expect a Q3 report in the near future? (please disregard if Q3 report already out at time of email)
2. There has been some discussion on the board about competing software lately. Do you think STv2 has maintained its edge over the competition throughout the course of this year?
3. You have mentioned the idea of maximizing market share quickly and how this is crucial to the success of Spooz. What is the marketshare target? i.e. I think some old projections were based on 1% marketshare
4. How does the Spooz Autospreader differ from that currently promoted on the TT website?
Thanks for your communication.
Gbathat
operating expenses in Q1 will likely be higher than those in Q4, jmo. advertising, customer support, etc
that doesn't mean we won't be profitable in Q1 too, just that there will be more expenses to consider
gbathat
i noticed that too
that's the biggest number i've seen on that site for spzi
i don't think anyone unloading would be that foolish to sell all at once
when i saw it, i thought... 100100 total at .006 or is someone trying to say 100 100 in a clever way
reminded me of our close yesterday
anyhow, i found it curious
agreed, but it will be hard for the company to communicate clearly that before, we were doing X and Y and thus not expecting to need any more money... but now we've stepped it up to X, Y, and Z, so we need more money. This is especially true since those no dilution quotes came at a time when we were all talking about 450 mil in 3 yrs.
in general, i just don't see why the company would dilute anymore unless the share price goes up a ton before then. at the current pps, diluting doesn't provide much capital while angering shareholders... not a good cycle to enter.
I hope they find other ways to get the money needed. Either way, I'm holding my shares tight and will try to maintain my current percentage of ownership if they do dilute at any point.
great post Soup- very interesting
no complaining! :D
just cuz we knew all these details a while back, doesn't mean they don't have to PR it first... face it, we spoiled the surprise by digging up that quoter article a while back
i hope errol wasn't pissed at us... :D
or if you want to keep your options open in the future
i.e. for uplisting to exchanges where you need a $5 pps, etc
woohooo!! looking good imo!
Thanks to Allie and Paul for this fantastic resource. It will make sleeping tonight both easier (more confidence) and harder (more excited!):D
Looking forward to another good week as a Spooz shareholder.
Peace,
Gbathat
another repost for STv2 skeptics...
What Traders Are Saying About SpoozToolz... more
9. “The system is so large, or maybe I should say complete, that skimming through it non stop took over an hour. W0W! I can see why a brokerage house would want the availability of it to offer clients. The system is so complete it's mind boggling ... so complete that regardless of a trader/investor's taste the screens can be set up to accommodate ANYONE.”
10. “I was overwhelmed with the completeness of the system. It's the trader/investor's complete candy store of display screens.”
11. “One thing that struck me was that you have the ability to create "synthetic" trading products - e.g. create your own ETF-like products.”
12.“The ability to "create" products was one of the most fascinating things I saw during my demo. By creating a "product" with a bid/ask spread was amazing and something I have never seen or had heard anyone talk about before. Input it all and viola, bid/ask spread of a newly created product. Simply amazing.”
13. “The demo was really that good ... and all that was available from Excel. Paul even traded a few options during the demo ... seamless, simple and instantaneous. But either way, we'll have to see where this all leads us ... The demo only showcased some of what SpoozToolz could do (like 10%)... there was just too much that wasn't shown. Throw Fractalz and Swarm into the mix, and you'll honestly see how big this company could be.”
14. “I just spent another amazing demo session at Spooz with some doubtful friends who have been trading professionally for twenty years. Within 15 minutes of the demo the jaw dropping began. A little further into the demo one friend asked the "how do you do this" question and Jaime launched into a pretty good explanation of Spooz for Dummies explanation of how. I have to admit that after about the 8th time hearing (the demo), it is beginning to sink in as to how Spooz works.
16. “As I read through the posts here, many said that Spooz advantage is its speed, that is a part of it. The real guts of (SpoozToolz) is a paradigm shift in the nature of trading. For professional traders it takes about 15 minutes to "get it" so I am not posting that here. Let’s just say everyone I have brought to see (SpoozToolz) thinks it’s a life changing product.”
17. “One friend said he was considering stopping trading till Spooz is released.”

What Traders Are Saying About SpoozToolz
1 “I haven't seen anything else like it. The completeness of the library is astonishing to say the least.”
2 “Quite a show, huh? And the best part is we only saw a very small portion of what this platform can do. In my presentation we did not even see the basic platform but concentrated more on Black and Gray box trading strategies. Not only do the templates let you get off the ground running but because (of) Excel, the ability to manipulate data is limitless. The visual presentation of data allowed you to see market opportunities that are otherwise hidden from view. I could go on and on and my presentation was only 2 hours. That’s why I bought stock and asked my firm to support this platform so I could use it.”
3. “My first thought – WOW! Very in-depth. I can't describe how incredible it was to see so many different (features) available.”
4. You can make it look as simple or as complicated as you want - all it takes is basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (fonts/color, etc). Joe Trader shouldn't be spooked by some fancy looking interface that they have no idea how to operate. Like I said, basic Microsoft application knowledge is all you need.”
5. “There is absolutely nothing that can compete with the speed and functionality that Paul has built in to SpoozToolz. I can see why they are not worried about revenues!!”
6. “Hedge gurus that know Excel will have a field day customizing exactly what they want to see and how they want to see it.”
7. “This means we floor traders can get the edge back!”
Thanks, I missed that. However, it appears different than managing everything in Excel, imo.
I don't see anything about excel in the link you provided.
My guess is that if there is any compatibility, it would be very slow execution.
(edited) I generally disagree with this post.
You make a lot of generalizations that are not well founded and lacking in detail.
For instance, you fail to mention that STv2 is excel based and 4X's faster than Xtrader.
The three competing softwares linked (not the TT demo, but the others) are absolutely nothing special and boast little functionality compared to STv2. So go ahead and post your countless others...
I'm pretty sure if Paul was going around at conferences boasting about a revolutionary technology that was not truly revolutionary, he would have gotten shot down in an instant in the Q&A session... didn't see any challenges in NYC.
I'm checking out the TT demos and will comment when I get through them. If you have time, please post links showing that the autospreader is currently available. I will look for this info.
I hope others on this board will provide more insights.
Peace,
Gbathat
that scam email was specifically targeted at current investors, from what I hear... trying to encourage selling
so posting an email to the leading investor relations resource for spzi, this ihub board, put the issue to rest
actually, they did put it to rest when responsible shareholders called the company and then posted that info for us.
the story is not logical
nobody with a brain and connections to the company would suggest that He and Groves stole the code.
End of story.
"the problem I had with that was that it was cryptic and really left no other interpretation than the one I gave."
Cryptic, meaning hidden? How does that leave us with one interpretation? I would think that leaves us with many unknowns.
partners that are already in place.
what kind of vague response was that? give me a break.
I am not continuing this discussion as you clearly have not done much dd on the company.

yes, twice, but it did not give me the impression that spooz was not going to launch without major help that is not already in place
i recall hearing that they will look for financing after they launch
but help with the launch??? nope don't recall that. i'll give it another listen this weekend, and will let you know if my opinion changes.
quotes please, i'm not the one bringing dd to the table... you were, and I'm asking you validate it please. thanks.
Allie, if not too late, please add the following to the list of Q's for Paul...
Who will be taking over Errol's duties at spooz? Are they looking to hire someone else?
I think this PR is a good one... things are definitely moving.
thanks,
gbathat
i disagree. please provide paul's quotes on this. yes, paul is building a strong base for launch, but spooz will be opening and controlling the offices in NYC and London and working with a slough of brokers to get the product out there. please consult the list of partnered brokers already on board to work with spooz, info that has been available since early spring. don't forget that spooz has been granted access to the TT gateway.
I agree there is work to be done to maximize market share, but I strongly disagree with the tone and general assertions in your post.

1:00 PM
CONCURRENT SESSION @ 1:00 PM
Technology of Algorithmic Trading
This session will bring together a variety of software vendors in the algorithmic space which provide both "off the shelf" and bespoke solutions for clients ranging from individual traders to large investment firms. The session will examine their strategies for success in this marketplace, given that many of the algorithmic trading tools we see in the derivatives markets have been written "in house". We will examine the unique selling points of each of the vendors, their target clients, their strategies toward co-location, and their opinions of the requirements from the major exchanges and brokerage firms for continuous upgrades - many of which are now driven by the demands of algorithmic/program trading. We will also discuss what sort of effort is required to get started in algorithmic trading.
Chair:
Tayloe Draughon, Vice President, e-Trading IT Strategy, Calyon Financial
Speakers:
Jesper Alfredsson, Head of Algorithmic Trading Solutions, Orc Software
Stéphane Leroy, Head of Global Sales and Marketing, Quanthouse
Paul Strickland, Chief Executive Officer, Spooz
Allen Zaydlin, Chief Executive Officer, InfoReach
thanks boca for replying to this person's post which is based on no facts and casts an unjustified negative portrayal of the company's leader and puts forth an incorrect assertion about the product development
I will refer that poster to previous posts from today for the answers... doubt they'll bother to read it though.
wow, wild wild day today... i see gmenfan is keeping wing company;) kudos to allie and the crew for hangin tough
i hope this sham is not putting too much stress on the company, and if so, that whomever is responsible is held fully accountable
What irks me is this- how did the phantom emailer know about these two spzi employees getting the boot before any of us? Must have been someone with inside info... very curious.
Well, time will tell. Just another chapter in this story stock.
Get your cheapies while you can;)
Wasn't even tempted to sell today. This baby's got potential folks!
just my opinion
peace unto y'all
Gbathat
reuters report updated on oct 29th, but no o/s provided as far as i could tell
they had the pps @1.75, but put 0 for market cap, probably cuz they couldn't find the info either
Why I'm invested in spzi
1. Good management that communicates with shareholders
2. Good potential for high revenues and high profit margins
3. Good stake in a potentially explosive company (141/XXIS)
4. Good community of shareholders that shares dd
5. The company will soon be entering profitability and its major growth stages... good time to invest
These are some of my reasons. Please make your own decisions.
worth a repost... noticed the link to this PR missing in ibox above
Spooz Completes SWARM Beta Testing and Reports Results
- 7/19/2007
Chicago, IL – July 19, 2007 -- Spooz, Inc. (OTC: SPZI) is excited to announce the end of successful beta testing for SWARM and announce live trading results from Spooz Trading Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Spooz, Inc.
Under development since January 2007, SWARM is a high-frequency, light-touch trading model developed by Spooz employees, Jame’ Groves, Erik Long and Dr. Peng He. Executed on Spooz’s signature SpoozToolz™ software, SWARM is a combination of proprietary arbitrage models that exploit local and spatial price discovery. Its unique weighted components allow for “dynamic” co-integration balancing between multiple correlated markets. Because its success is based on the automation of quantitative strategies, SWARM’s trading performance is not dependent on any specific market direction, but rather on precise micro-second calculations to identify opportunities as they arise.
“The live trading test resulted in surprisingly good numbers. Although it represented a small number of actual trades, when considered together with simulated trades conducted in June, we believe the results to be statistically significant enough to enter into the production phase,” stated Jame’ Groves, Director of Financial Engineering for Spooz. “It’s time to build a proprietary trading division capable of becoming an important profit center for the company.”
All trading occurred in a third party account. The beta test period began July 2, 2007 and continued through July 18, 2007. For the beta period, only two spreads in the energy complex were traded. The following unaudited results were generated from account statements:
Trading Days: 12
Number of Trades: 244
Average Trades per Day: 20.3
Number of Winners: 234
Number of Losers: 5
Number of Scratches*: 5
Winning Percentage: 95.9 %
Losing Percentage: 2.05 %
Scratch Percentage: 2.05%
Average Winning Trade: ** $30
Average Losing Trade: ** $16
* A scratch is a trade initiated and offset at the same price. Transaction fee apply.
** Based upon one contract; excluding commissions and fees
“While Spooz does not offer direct public participation in proprietary SWARM trading, it is our goal to teach traders how to utilize SpoozToolz to create sophisticated models based upon modern trading methodologies,” said Paul Strickland, the Spooz CEO. “We believe that SpoozToolz will change the way smaller traders approach the market as they become armed with technology unavailable to them from any other source.”
ABOUT SPOOZ
Spooz, Inc., a publicly traded company based in Chicago, provides a suite of solutions designed to simplify financial trading for traders and hedgers alike. Its flagship product, SpoozToolz™ and its modules, add built-in trading capabilities to the popular Microsoft® Excel software application, combining a customizable interface, streaming quotes, charts, technical analysis, a comprehensive historical database, and electronic trade execution into a simple add-in that becomes part of the Excel tool bar. SWARM is an example of trading systems that can be created with SpoozToolz.
