Violent sport tops on Yahoo
BYLINE: By JESSE NOYES
BODY:
The Internet is giving one violent new sport a fighting chance.
Yesterday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship - a sport that blends martial arts with the theatrical flair of professional wrestling - topped the buzz metric on the Yahoo! search engine as the most searched term of the day.
Ultimate Fighting Championship, a frequent fixture on the Yahoo list, beat out other popular terms, including ``X-Men,'' ``Jessica Alba'' and ``World Cup 2006.''
Far from surprised, Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White said the Web has catapulted the sport into the mainstream.
``This thing survived through the Internet through the years when it couldn't get distribution'' on television, White said.
Ultimate Fighting Championship matches are typically shown on pay-per-view or Spike TV, a cable channel targeting male viewers.
White said much of the sports buzz comes from online, where the typically young, male fans spend a lot of time.``These 18- to 34-year-olds are all online, man,'' he added.
Ultimate Fighting Championship also took a lead on Yahoo's sports index, beating out the terms ``NBA'' and ``MLB.'' While White isn't claiming to be more popular than baseball, he does think it's a testament to the sport's burgeoning popularity.
``What is happening in this country right now is there's a lot of young sports coming up,'' he said.

Assembly Vote - A Critical Step Toward Choice for California Cable TV Subscribers
Full Assembly Overwhelmingly Approves Bill to Open Local Cable TV Markets to Competition, Lower Prices for Consumers
June 1, 2006
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The California Assembly late Wednesday overwhelmingly approved Bill 2987, which would overhaul the state's outdated cable franchising process and pave the way for new competitors such as Verizon to offer consumers a choice in video programming, better technology and lower prices. The bill, authored by Speaker Fabian Núñez and Assemblymember Lloyd Levine, had earlier been passed by the Assembly's Utilities and Commerce Committee and Appropriations Committee. The following statement can be attributed to Verizon West Region President Tim McCallion:
"The California Assembly has taken a major step toward true competition for cable TV services in our state. In cities where Verizon has been permitted to compete for subscription TV service, cable companies have slashed rates. Not only that, but customers are getting better rates and the superior technology only offered by Verizon's FiOS TV.
"Verizon has stepped up to the plate in California, spending hundreds of millions of dollars to deploy a unique fiber-optic technology that gives consumers the most advanced technology available all the way to their homes. More than 1,000 new employees are working today to build this new system, so not only are we creating exciting new options for consumers, but also important new jobs.
"The California Assembly recognizes that the old-fashioned cable-TV franchise system, designed for the days of a monopoly cable-TV provider, has outlived its value and today serves only to protect the incumbent from competition. The Assembly has recognized that the current franchising system is broken and that AB2987 is the solution.
"Speaker Núñez and Assemblyman Levine, together with coauthors Assemblymen Kevin McCarthy and George Plescia, have demonstrated their leadership by working with all interested parties to create a bill that fosters video competition while protecting the interests of consumers and communities."

Mike do you think that BKMP is a stock to hold long-term since things are only starting to heat up? Sounds like this stock will climb pretty high, IMO, in the next 18 months or more. I'm looking to hold long-term.
TIA for you advice!

It's sounds like you have a full plate there. Don't sweat it though. At least you stand up for your beliefs and stick to them.
When I get stressed out, I just get a Starbucks and get wired, lol!
By the way, I'm going there right now and to also do a little shopping. Want me to pick you up a double shot of espresso, with steamed milk and two dollops of whipped cream? My treat
Mr. Peeps
Hi Tina,
I've been busy lately...I try to drop by when I can. How are you?
Mr. Peeps
Hola Tina!
Como estas? Estas estudiando hoy?
Recuerdos,
Sr. Peeps
Good Morning Everyone!
It’s has been an interesting week since the web cast. I have read many views on what people thought about the web cast. It’s been a mixed bag of positives and negatives.
Personally, my take is that we all have to remember that we are dealing with a stock on the OTC. When you are placing a bet on the OTC you are putting your money much more at risk than on the big boards. That of course is a given. So you better have the mind-set that you may lose money and be prepared to deal with it. If you can’t than you should stick to the big boards or safer investments—plain and simple.
In addition, we as investors sometimes want to know as much as the people running a company because we want to be assured that we are making a good investment. Of course we want a return on our investment.
The reality is that a company cannot give away all of its plans to please the investors.
That’s like giving all of your plans away to your competitors. HELLO! Not a very smart move.
It would be in the best interest to let the company do what it has to do to reach its objectives. IMO, the company is a long-term play not a short one. If investors constantly gripe and complain about every little decision the company makes, I’m sorry but you should cut your loss and move on if you can’t handle it in the OTC kitchen.
Mr. Peeps
OT: Gracias Tina...igualmente...¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

OT: Don't worry...Sometimes you have to take a calculated risk...so, if you don't play, ya can't get paid...LOL! All of us are in so I wouldn't sweat it. You have our support!
Mr. Peeps
OT: Crossing my fingers for you and all of us!
Mr. Peeps
OT: Nice Yolo! You're in the money!
Mr. Peeps
Hey Yolo, you are totally right. Things are going to be bright for this stock. Patience is the key. And like you said, this is not a get rich overnight stock like some people might expect. But it will be impressive, IMO, over the long-term. Did you say you put in a 10 mill buy...Damn...good going!
Mr. Peeps
OT: Good luck on your order Tina! Hope you got it!
Mr. Peeps
OT: What's up Yolo! Great news about the buy back.
Mr. Peeps
OT: Tina, it's great to see that you are here too Nice low buys you made. That was a steal! This stock should be interesting in the coming months and beyond. Yolo posts here too. I'm not sure if you remember yolo. He's pretty cool.
I got tired of a few bashers that are allowed to come back all the time at GZFX and they never get booted. In my opinion, they are poison for the board, especially one person in particular and I won't mention his name. Not that you can get rid of them (or it)...so its better to get some fresh air and go to another board for a while.
Mr. Peeps
OT: Hola Tina! I see you changed your name. I'll miss truthfully though.
I won't be posting much on GZFX now. I'll be watching it though. Looks like exciting stuff is coming our way for BKMP.
Mr. Peeps
OT: Good Morning Tina!
Mr. Peeps
LOL...naw, they are good reads Agent. Thanks for the posts.
I'm heading out so have a great night!
Mr. Peeps
OT: Damn you are on a role tonight! Keep up the great posts Agent!
Mr. Peeps
OT: Don't worry Tina,
You can still enjoy a few slices before your Bday.
Don't sweat the calories, you can always start your New Year's resolution later. Happy pre-Bday!
Mr. Peeps
Just read one of your posts Tina about you having a birthday today. Well, I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday! Enjoy your day and eat lot's of yummy cake!
