It does defeat the convenience which is why it would have to be a self service setup, possibly inside 24hour drugstores and the like.
I'm aware of all the legal hurdles and deals that would need to be struck with drugstores. Let's imagine for a minute that we had full legalization, and had self service medboxs inside of drugstores available 24 hours, yes it would be huge revenues. So back to my original statement, it was and still is a great idea. Just to soon. The infrastructure wasn't there 2 years ago and it still isn't but there has been tins of progress and now Microsoft is coming in with software from Kind. When America catchs up then medbox machines still have a chance to be successful. Assuming no other company sneaks in before th with their own machine.
Until then use all that open farm land to grow hemp which is exactly what they're doing. 320 acres worth. You wouldn't want to grow marijuana out in a open field anyway, unless you like smoking cabbage.
