“ Over the last few weeks, the Company has received inquiries asking about Brilacidin’s potential to treat the Coronavirus given the urgent worldwide need to find effective treatments for this deadly epidemic.” From the PR
It’s not about the size of the market it’s about the reimbursement and the competition for generics.
“ The race is on for vaccine...but IMHO...more importantly "effective" lifesaving "treatment" and IPIX's B has two runners with numbers in the race. They just need to get over the finish line, not first” I agree because even with a vaccine many people will get sick and of course these viruses will mutate.
Developing drugs is a process. Step by step and Leo will tell us at each step...so if that is to much for you then just sell and move on!
I’ve got a great idea for some of their billions though... buy ipix!
Doesn’t guarantee success does it?!

Now I understand your problem...you can’t count! How does a company go from phase 1 to phase 3 without doing a phase 2?
Are all trials successful? Will their trial be successful?
B is not a vaccine.
I think you are probably right if you are suggesting that B will kill cv19 or be some type of vaccine. The real problem with cv19 is that the sick patients get really sick and they probably would benefit from a drug like B.
Awesome post! Please sticky
The real problem with Cv19 is that some of the people get very sick with pneumonia(infections and inflammation) so if B can help in a meaningful way with this patient population it would be considered a huge success.
What I would be curious to know is if it proves out to be effective could we get approval without going through a formal phase 3 trial. That could save us about $50+m.
The most urgent and important issue is to help the very sick patients who have a host of infection and inflammation issues. B just might be the ticket.
B most likely to used to treat most severe cases. This is the most important and urgent need.
Agree completely! (Some times I just can’t help myself)
Because B works like our own immune defense system it may not wipe out the good bugs like traditional antibiotics. Just a thought.
They signed two mta’s. I believe that they should pr that information. I am not sure how an mta can be construed as an exaggeration. You either have signed one or not and in this case the company signed two! If the company doesn’t sign the mta how can the drug be tested? If it’s not tested how can a licensing agreement be signed? Without the licensing agreement how can fda trials begin.... it’s a process..it’s got to start somewhere.
I get it...the company shouldn’t pr mta’s ...yeah they seems smart.
I am not sure what the 2014 example has to do with the mta’s today or what the purpose of comparing them is. Is the company suppose to ignore the opportunity? What’s the point to bashing Leo for responding to the requests? Never mind I know the answer
And your point is what? They shouldn’t sign mta’s, they shouldn’t pr mta’s?
Looping is a full time job for him!
“It would be nice to have an MTA that actually led somewhere. “ Wow! That’s deep!
Lol! A person reads all the company filings and still wants the help of an anonymous message board!
“ Company has received inquiries asking about Brilacidin’s potential to treat the Coronavirus given the urgent worldwide need to find effective treatments for this deadly epidemic.” The operative word here is “received” The company was responding to inquiries. I am not sure what is so difficult about understanding this part of the pr. Hound I wasn’t responding to you.
So it sure seems the Chinese are more worried about the potential of Wuhan virus otherwise why would they quarantine 10s of millions and please don’t quote the Chinese state stats as real numbers. It’s pretty obvious by their actions this is a huge problem.
Complete bs!
“ Does B have any faint chance of anti viral activity? Who knows? But if B is so promising why not test it a dozen years ago already??” Have you read about the Wuhan virus? Seriously, aren’t you supposed to be a doctor? 10’s of millions of people are quarantined in China and around the world and people are looking for solutions.
Nice call Dud!
Anyone who brags on an anonymous message board about buying at the low and selling at the high is a liar! Lol!
To bad that kind of analysis is a daily occurrence
Phase 2 will determine if the drug is effective and I think we will definitely get a partner for phase 2.
No that’s not the key. The key is can they find a partner for the indication. No way does ipix take the B-uc to phase 3 by themselves.
“ . Along with assessing the safety, toleration, and pharmacokinetics of oral Brilacidin, the study will evaluate the delivery of oral Brilacidin directly to the colon by utilizing advanced delayed-release drug delivery technology developed by the Company’s formulation partner.” Looks like safety and effective delivery of drug.
Has that been determined?
The technology releases the drug. The question then becomes how much are you releasing over a given time.
If he complied he wouldn’t post! Lol
It’s my understanding that the trial is testing the pill formulation and it’s ability to distribute B in the colon per the plan.
