HET: Harrah's
FYI looks like buyout offer at $90 if this hasn't been posted.
Lead Producers...
Anyone have any lead producers close/at/near production? Lead seems to be just as interesting as zinc here and flying under the radar of a lot of people. Just can't find any real good lead plays..
BOB re: TRGD...
Very interested in this, just noticed they acquired some property in New Mexico (lead/zinc/silver). What's the story on them, fully diluted shares, prospects, etc..?
Bob RE: ROCA
Yep, I have been in communication with Doug over the past few weeks and it looks like they are still on schedule. He says there's a possibility of production in 2007 being at 3.5 million pounds, but that they want to keep some surprises on the table.
Also, mentioned a guy back east has a position of over 500,000 shares of this, biggest position he has ever owned...and an article from Money Sense from another top-4 smallcap investor in Canada who thinks Roca is extremely undervalued.
I'm still looking for $2-3 out of this one in early 2007, maybe $4-5 by the end of next year.
BWLRF - Most Compelling Zinc Play?
How do you all feel about Breakwater? Is this the most compelling zinc value play right now? I also own Hudbay Minerals, just checking..have never owned this.
Bobwins: Metals Speculation
Bob,
What's your feeling on the state of metals prices lately? I took a pretty big hit today, but remain focused on the big picture. This whole event seems a bit different than the May 11-12 post metals crash.
I am not liking oil in the short-term, but I can't see why nickel/zinc/copper would be adversely affected until a big buildup in supplies..

Still my largest holding, take a look at this link:

Housing / S&P Correlation
A week ago I posted this article:
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Global_Economy/HH24Dj01.html
Does anyone know if we can get the data from the 80s on the housing / S&P correlation?
Lentinman:
Yes, it struck me as very shocking when I saw it too. It would certainly support loading up on those market puts over the next year. I remember you mentioning that you are already short the market, yes?

Bob, RE: DYN.v
I've been researching this a little more today, do you find this investment more compelling than say LBE, ROK? I like their prospects but don't see as much upside potential..
S&P / Housing Correlation
This is a good article posted today by one of the guys in my trading group, worth a look.
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Global_Economy/HH24Dj01.html
Luckily, I added to my ROK.v position yesterday and made it my 2nd largest...behind ML.to Sold some of my HBM
re: EZM,
One of the guys in my stock group said they already had enough support to get the deal done, I'll ask him when he gets online.
Bobwins, favorite nickel play.
Bob, what's your favorite nickel play? I own RNO and LBE.v right now (more LBE than RNO).
With nickel up another 6% today, seems like this is going to be the place to be for the short and possibly long-term, depending on how much of a shortage problem there is.
cl, RE: EZM
I think this deal is pretty much set in stone, they already have majority of shareholder approval.
ROK.v strong today...

IMOS .35 vs. .25 expected?
Am I reading this right, beat by 30% and raising guidance?
IMOS - holders of stock?
I know someone here has talked about IMOS before, was it Mike? I'm curious how many of you see this as a value/growth play and why it has been held down for so long now.
Wade - VPHM
I am baffled by the action on this stock. I am long stock and options and will wait this one out. Am still hopeful for $10+, but this is very strange indeed. There was a post on yahoo today about worst case scenario. Factoring in Vancocin's worth, case on hand and drugs in the pipeline, worst case scenario seems to come out at $7. I can't imagine it going any lower than that, but markets are irrational.
RE: ERS (MM)
I'm with you on the ERS short and I hope many see what a great opportunity this is. I'm lucky I couldn't get any short shares in the high 30s, because I was trying like crazy. So far have around 500 shares with a cost basis of $45. I hope it goes over $50 because I'll add more as they are available.
I don't see how this stock can hold up after earnings, unless they can show tremendous growth. Even then, their margins are declining and I can't for the life of me see how this price is sustainable..
Bobwins RE: Hudbay
Bob, I like your Hudbay pick. Have you done any research on their warrants? I'm going through Sedar and getting info on it. Just wondering, dilution-wise.
Tks,

SVI - Bought out Jamba Juice
Hey everyone, not sure if you guys have followed this story..but for anyone familiar with Jamba Juice, SVI has bought them out for $2xx million and Jamba Juice has $345 a year in revenus across 582 stores. Growth story here, not sure what we're looking here..but the past couple days has basically been an 'IPO' for the stock (in a sense). Just thought I'd pass the word along..
PMHX to trade on AMEX!
Company is also profitable..should give increased exposure to what has been a 'fly under the radar' type stock.
CULVER CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 2005--Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. ("Prospect Medical"), a managed care management company serving 10 affiliated Independent Physician Associations ("IPAs") in Southern California, today announced that its common stock is expected to commence trading on the American Stock Exchange ("AMEX") on May 11, 2005 under the symbol PZZ. The stock had traded on the Pink Sheets under the symbol PMHX.
This approval is contingent upon the Company being in compliance with all applicable listing standards on the date it begins trading on the AMEX, and may be rescinded if the Company is not in compliance with such standards.
Dr. Jack Terner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Prospect Medical, commented, "We are very pleased to announce this significant corporate milestone. We believe that this listing will elevate Prospect Medical's profile in the investor community, provide enhanced liquidity for investors and strengthen our competitive position. We continue to execute on our disciplined and deliberate acquisition strategy, and believe that the IPA market in southern California is ripe for further consolidation."
Well, give me a list of stocks waiting for AMEX/NASDAQ with as good a valuation as PMHX and I would happily invest in them :)
PMHX may be light volume now, but once the story is out on it, it will trade much much higher..
PMHX
For those of you interested, I did a dydd writeup on this stock a month or two ago. Their quarterly results should be out soon and should follow with an AMEX announcement. This company is a similar play to MDF, here are some highlights:
FY 2004 Highlights Versus FY 2003:
* Revenue increased 95% to $129.5 million from $66.5 million
* Operating income improved to $8.7 million from $1.8 million
* Net income rose to $5.1 million, or $0.68 per diluted share, from $955,000, or $0.22 per diluted share.
This stock has flown under the radar of many, and I think once it has the added exposure of AMEX, $7 will be a thing of the past.
BOBWINS RE: EGY
Bob,
Any chance EGY is going to update their proved reserves numbers? I was reading over Pan Ocean's site and see that their reserves have just about doubled. They also maintain that they can produce 30-40,000 bpd on average for the next five years. Any thoughts?
SMTX - Bob?
Call me crazy but I see value in this stock at these levels. There is a question of debt, but they are continuing to focus on restructuring and appear to be on track to meet their goals for '05. You done any DD on this one?
