Sorry, I didn't mean that KBLB wouldn't care, but rather the buyers. Certainly it's in KBLBs best interest to lower environmental impact, but only so far as it doesn't affect their bottom line TOO much.
What I was talking about were the purchasers of the product. Consumers, be them countries or private citizens, have been categorically shown to not care about environmental contamination when it comes to what they buy. Look at Apple, the bastion of hip tech. Because they produce in China (as we very well may in VN), the American consumer is completely fine with the toxins that are emitted from the factories.
Perhaps the 'Made in USA' branch of KBLB will tout environmental responsibility, but if someone else made a better fiber and twice as much contaminants, buyers will always find a way to justify the purchase.
EDIT: On this board I feel that it's prudent to add (though I shouldn't have to) that I personally would want lower emissions. As a biologist that works with endangered aquatic species, I know what these contaminants can do. However, nobody gets on the US Agriculture industry for their run-off in any significant way, so I don't think that the by-products of silk fermentation will be at the top of anyone's To-Do list.
Production costs are one thing, but don't be so naive as to think that anyone that wants these fibers cares at all about the pollution aspect. That's just the world we live in, and that's why the environment is in the crapper.
That NextLevel report reeks of slimy promotion, I tend to agree with mojo on this one. We paid for that? The numbers given for Spiber, Bolt, etc. are clearly misleading with respect to what the final numbers will be. It's not worth arguing about it, but compare this 'coverage' to the real press that Spiber gets from their relationship with North Face, tentative as it may be.
Next Level <<< Popular Science in Every. Single. Way.
I'm not even disputing that the numbers aren't accurate NOW, but they certainly wont' be accurate when everyone comes to market, so it seems petulant to release them in this way. Personal opinion, but this is the low road.
I feel like we're in the Joe Noel days...not a fun feeling.
Right on. Fraser is our only asset, and he's just doing what he's supposed to do, KBLB or not.
Glad we have a 999 lawyer to do our paperwork.
I think it's pretty clear that banana was suggesting (and mojo was correctly refuting) significant production. Micro-batches to make a glove are nothing worth noting.
KBLB is not producing commercially available amounts of silk at the present time. That's a simple fact.
From amendment in iBox:
Recent Events
Over the first quarter of 2016, the Company has developed new knit materials in conjunction with collaboration partners, completed a proposed program review with a US government agency, completed a project risk assessment for its potential Vietnam operations, and identified several possible ancillary production locations, including two domestic options.
Over the second and third quarters of 2016, the Company expects to select and begin implementation of ancillary production locations, report the details of its collaborative efforts, and begin work on its first US government funded program.
That's very clearly a form letter where you type <Stock Symbol> and <Business Type> and it fills in the blanks. You can tell mostly from the capital letters.
Readers,
I’ve gotten ahold of some research that is going to blow your minds, you won’t believe when you read it, and it should send **<Stock Symbol>*** into a new range once we publish it.
I look to have it ready for everyone this Tuesday or Weds at the latest.
I hope everyone enjoys some pre summer fun this weekend, because I promise this information is going to send herds of people into frenzy.
<Stock Symbol> is bar none the best <Business Type> on the planet, and it deserves your undivided attention.
Ill remind you again on Monday night and send you the report with a link on it soon after to read.
It’s time to dump your losers and prepare to take advantage of a real under the radar situation, which is positioned to earn you an easy double or more from where its currently sitting.
More news, always means more exposure, more interest and then market appreciation.
Have a great holiday weekend.

Hachi machi...*pulls nervously on collar*
Ha, well if it was a soft leak of information a day early (I bet it's an official PR after trading today, or at 6:05am tomorrow) they know what response it will get.
Yuck yuck yuck. Focus on what you have and can't make yet before you tout other platforms that aren't perfected.
Ugh. I'm feeling like we're a far way off from anything that will move this share price if this is what they're releasing as news.
EDIT: Even if this isn't an official PR, it doesn't mean anything from a scientific perspective. As a scientist, this is like releasing your publication after you've set up your experiment, but before you measure results. You don't do that.
I heard directly from Jon via e-mail twice that the goal was to release the SS before April's end. While he covered his back end using the word 'goal', it's another missed projection from something that is completely within KBLB's control.
For me, I'd rather they release a bum SS and follow it up with news when you get it. Nobody cares about the SS from a PPS standpoint anyway, so be timely with it, even if it's scant. My opinion, but I think it would be a more professional trajectory.
Hopefully tomorrow breaks the silence. I have silence in my inbox as well for over a week, which had not been the case the last few times I messaged the company.
I sent an e-mail today expressing my top concerns. I'd prefer to wait on the phone call until there's something I feel like they can answer to directly. It doesn't do any good to ask questions that they clearly can't address, so I need more info on my end before the phone call would be worthwhile.
I hope we hear something in a few hours. Friday marks the last trading day in April, and I was told we would get a Spider Sense by the end of the month.
Now, what I really want in a juicy PR to go along with it...whaddya say Kim and Jon? Will April showers bring May flowers?
I've got a sinking feeling that there's something very rotten in the state of Kraig. These delays in communication reek of something more serious. What the hell are they doing in Michigan right now? I'm going to get Jon on the phone soon if I can, because I have a pretty good human lie detector. Ben can't say anything of value, so I need to finally reach out and hear it from the horse's mouth. I can get him easily enough over e-mail, but you can't hear lies that way. I feel like I'm being lied to. It's intuition, no proof, but I'm a very intuitive person.
We're all getting jerked around, but to what extent I can't know.
That would be a nice wedding present for me :) Tying the knot on the 16th!
A combination from what I was told (SS will be released in April) and the post today relaying from Ben that it was already written could really portend a PR prior to SS release. Not a prediction or a guarantee, but if SS is written and would technically would be 'due' April 1st, why not just release it when it was finished unless you were waiting for something?
The grain of salt: KBLB are horrible communicators with no sense of timing, so they may just be farting around as well.
That was pretty funny. Complete lack of knowledge about how stock ownership is reported. Dummies.
I think the picture it paints of Kim is accurate, more or less. An Overpromiser that is not worried about paying himself off of our backs with nothing of substance delivered for YEARS. Keep in mind, the scientific breakthroughs are Fraser's contribution, Kim can't claim those outside of a fraction of the funding. Even there, Kim's funding is funneled towards commercialization efforts, which to date are floundering relative to their early projections. The basic science funding was procured through Fraser's grant writing.
KBLB exists because Kim created it, but since that point it PERSISTS in spite of his activities. We hear rumblings now, but you have to contrast that to what was said from 2012 to now. They're plodding through the business side of this, but those salaries listed sure look nice for ol' Kim. JMO, but Shark Tank would have been a better idea at this point than whatever Kim is doing (based on what we can know through official communications)
I was told by the company via email that the goal was to release the next SS before May.
God, does spider silk extraction not look completely barbaric? I mean, I know it's just a spider, but that looks like torture equipment.
Invest in KBLB, Save Our Spiders!
I have to agree as well. There's too many connections to be happenstance...
I also think we could hear about this sooner than some people think, depending on the terms. I don't make timeline estimates as a rule.
I now wish I still lived in Boston so I could just go down there and bug people for info. Nobody does anything good in Iowa...
Certainly reminds us that in 2015, they predicted that they thought (incorrectly) that they would have been able to announce two signed contracts by the end of Q4 2015. Well, it's 3 months later and we've yet to hear anything about them.
Glass Half Full: We're that much closer today than when the statement was made.
Glass Half Empty: We were never that close to begin with.
2016 is off to a poor start with respect to shareholder communication, and that leans me much closer to half-empty at this point, just based on the information we have received through the single PR and the 10-k. I believe at this point, the start of Q2 2016, that it's fair to say that the Q4 2015 prediction was incredibly naive at best. But we know nothing more now than we did then, so we languish.
"As of December 31, 2015, the subsidiary was not yet established and no work has been performed in Vietnam for the year ended December 31, 2015."
As there have been no updates in 2016, all we have is the agreement to form a subsidiary, that as of the PR date was still awaiting all the checks that I noted in my original post. This is NOT complete yet.
In my opinion, I feel that you're mistaken about what the PR says.
I'm reading the words as written, and there are chasms the size of the Grand Canyon between what is written and what gets regurgitated on this board.
It's my opinion, but the PPS backs me up, not you. I trust everyone else in the market over one person's poor reading comprehension.
Hey, I want good things too :) I just want to feel like I'm being dealt with using straight-talk. That's a long-gone hope with the management acting as they have for the past few years.
GLTA
I hope Q2 2016 brings more than Q1 (or Q4 2015). This has been a very disappointing year WITH RESPECT to where KBLB said they would be in late 2015.
With all that effort typing, the PPS fully supports my opinion so, agree to disagree. Hope we hear real news soon.
Here is the whole PR. Red is useless filler, blue is 'news', green is 'doubling'-type of talk. This is not a blockbuster PR, and the PPS should have told you that. It's not share counts keeping us under $0.03, it's incomplete news like this that doesn't actually say ANYTHING.
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 29, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB:KBLB) (“Company”), the leading developer of spider silk based fibers, today announced the signing of a cooperative agreement with a governmental entity in Vietnam to develop and produce the Company’s advanced silk technologies. Under the terms of the agreement Kraig Labs has agreed to form a subsidiary company in Vietnam and to open an advanced hybrid silk research and pilot production operation.
Kraig Labs has created an efficient method of producing high strength silks using its innovative genetic engineering technologies. Demonstrating superior strength and elasticity, in some cases higher strength and elasticity than native spider silks, Kraig Labs’ Dragon SilkTM has the potential to reshape the textile industry. The research and production agreement announced today lays the groundwork for the production and further development of these advanced hybrid textiles.
“This agreement represents a major advancement for Kraig Labs and is the successful culmination of two years of negotiations and many more years of scientific research and development,” said CEO and Founder Kim Thompson. “It is a key milestone in the advancement of our longstanding business plan to bring these advanced materials to the multi-billion dollar marketplace for advanced technical textiles. It brings us a huge step closer to meeting the demand for our spider silk technologies. This agreement is important because of the tremendous existing silk and textile production infrastructure. At the same time bringing a new technology and capability to Vietnam. This agreement was the result of considerable effort by all parties involved and we are pleased to announce today the success of those efforts. I would like to personally thank our negotiation partners for their dedication in completing this first of its kind international agreement.”
The Company is currently in the process of obtaining the necessary approvals for the subsidiary and its operational plan. Over the next several months the Company plans to finalize the formation of the subsidiary, lease a research and production facility in Vietnam, hire and train local staff, obtain permits, and begin cross breeding its silkworms with local commercial silkworm lines.
Simply put, there were way too many people that have bought low and are happy to sell 0.027+.
All those shares need to be gobbled up before you see PPS movement. This is the price we pay for the months of silence, but hopefully with more news we can sustain an upwards rise. Re-read the PR...not THAT much was really said with respect to what is happening in the here and now.
It's a good day on the board, but let's not put the cart before the horse.
There's obviously good things about what was PR'd but if you dissect the language, there's still a lot of wiggle room. We need to bulk this up with more substantial news in order to maintain anything notable.
Hopefully, Kim's thinking the same way. For now, let's enjoy some green-ness.
Just saw this myself (no e-mail yet).
Well, it's something that's for sure. It's nice to see official confirmation that we will be doing business in VN. Hopefully this is the start of more news to come, as obviously the details are a little light.
Regardless, nice to see something. Leap day miracle.
Edit: The question now becomes, do we have to wait 'several months' before we hear about any of those agreements?
He told me, in no uncertain terms, that the 'administrative delay being on KBLB's end' was a possibility that he could imagine for not hearing anything, but was quite clear that it was his conjecture.
I'd like to think that I'm a very intuitive person, and I'm able to glean things as you often claim is necessary with Ben. It was my opinion, based off my conversation, that Ben was completely in the dark as to where we were in the process. Now was he being forthright? I have my doubts. But suffice it to say, he wouldn't confirm (even tangentially) that he knew where the ball was.
He said he was in nearly daily contact with Jon and Kim, but never implicitly or explicitly indicated that those conversations netted him any new information, and trust me, I was listening for the subtlety.
