Echoing the thoughts regarding Robin Williams.. truly a unique individual who will be sorely missed. To hear he suffered so badly from depression that suicide became the only answer was heartbreaking. A reminder to us all, even though some are smiling on the outside many are hiding pain. Be kind to one another. GLTA
The website is irrelevant IMO, do you think a company that is planning a billion dollar solar farm cares about the look of QMC's website? Its the product that matters, 95% quantum yield plus proven mass production capabilities... astounding news !! Nanoco and QDV must be in full panic mode...
Instead of being happy that we are up 500% I'm gonna cry like a baby and attack the CEO
But but... crunch I have $500 in this stock and I want to retire today..
False. Current reactor can produce 250KG per year. At $500-$1000 a gram do the math. QMC is more than currently capable of supply a sizeable contract.
We can already produce 250KG with the current reactor. Second unit delivery within the next few months. A second larger unit wouldn't be necessary unless there was a contract imminent.
I like the progression. Key board members who have expertise in specific areas. IMO anyone playing the dips are going to get caught with their pants down when contracts are announced. We could easily have a PR with revenues anytime now, producing reactor in place with larger unit scheduled early 2015.
Aren't you still looking for that $.01 buy in? Lol
What are you basing your assumption on?
Folks.. been saying this for a long time now ..QMC has been undervalued for so long we should have been at $1 SP a year ago. People are finally waking up to the potential here. The only other publicly traded company out there NANOCO is trading at plus $1.50 how are we not at that level? Reactor in house with 250KG per year capabilities. ..superior tetra pods... don't get me wrong a revenue generating PR would be more than welcome but I don't see the SP climb slowing even at this stage...
Lol..thanks for that..another great day with many more ahead..
3D Tetrapod Quantum Dots Outperform
TQD can create uncrackable anti-counterfeiting for chips

(Nice pic of Steve and David in the shop)
PORTLAND, Ore. — Quantum dots are already being used to improve the color accuracy in high-end televisions like Sony's Bravia, and are being experimented with for boosting the output of solar cells. Quantum Materials Corp. in San Marcos, Texas, wants to get into that action -- and more -- with its tetrapod-shaped quantum dots licensed from Rice University.
TQDs give even more accurate control over the color and intensity of the light they emit, in the case of organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays, and absorb -- in the case of solar cells. However, Quantum Materials has found that by adjusting the dimensions of the core and the four arms of the tetrapod, TQDs they can emit a unique signature of light frequencies, making them an uncrackable source of anti-counterfeiting materials for everything from currency to microchips to 3D-printed objects.
"The Tetrapod Quantum Dot offers many advantages for display and solar-cell manufactures, which is why we originally licensed their design from Rice University," David Doderer, vice president of research and development at Quantum Materials, told EE Times.

Doderer continued:
But for our 3-D anti-counterfeiting applications we licensed the additive manufacturing quantum dot detection technology developed at the Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science and the Design, Research, and Education for Additive Manufacturing Systems... a laboratory at Virginia Tech. That will allow us to embed quantum dots within objects being 3-D printed to produce a unique, physically uncloneable signatures known only to the object's manufacturer.
Quantum dots for displays work by absorbing light in a relatively broad band, then emitting light in another narrower band depending to create colors when embedded in OLEDs that cannot be produced by LEDs themselves. TQDs offer many more dimensions of frequency shifting depending on the length, width, overall size, and other dimensions of both their core and their four arms, enabling custom designs for each application.
Since TQD light emission occurs over a range of frequencies and amplitudes, they are able to return a unique signature when pinged. The signature could be completely unique and known only to the manufacturer, used for adding secure serial numbers to manufactured goods, for example.
Quantum Materials licensed a method of embedding the tetrapod quantum dots inside 3D-printed items, but close enough to the surface that they can be pinged and have their signature read-out to identify genuine model numbers or genuine serial numbers. Quantum Materials also envisions novel uses of TQDs for encryption, secure key exchange, and tampering detection.
Quantum Materials, citing Allied Market Research, claims that the market for anti-counterfeit packaging alone is already over $57 billion and will grow at nearly a 14% annual compound rate to $143 billion by 2020. According to Global Industry Analysts, the food and pharmaceutical industries are already on-board to the tune of $82 billion by 2015.

dp, I am very confident that Steve is working with display companies. Remember we don't necessarily need to produce the screens, supplying the qdots at a high quality and low price point will guarantee us contracts. I pulled this stat off a site "We are on track for 1.81 billion mobile phone sales for all of 2013, the analysts predict." This does not account for computer screens, tablets or home theater...

Researchers Demonstrate the Scalability of Quantum Dot Architectures
New research from the RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science reveals how arrays of electrons trapped in nanoscale circuitry could form the basis for future scalable quantum computers.
A single electron trapped in a semiconductor nanostructure can form the most basic of building blocks for a quantum computer. Before practical quantum computers can be realized, however, scientists need to develop a scalable architecture that allows full control over individual electrons in computational arrays.
Matthieu Delbecq and colleagues from the RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science, in collaboration with researchers from Purdue University in the United States, have now demonstrated the scalability of quantum dot architectures by trapping and controlling four electrons in a single device1.
Electrons have a property known as spin that can be either ‘up’ or ‘down’. This is the same binary coding as used in conventional computing, but electrons can also be linked at the quantum level to form quantum bits, or ‘qubits’, that can have many more usable states, providing dramatic improvements in computational performance.
Circuits of quantum dots are one of the most promising practical routes to harnessing this potential. A quantum dot creates an electric field ‘well’ that is too deep for the electron to escape, allowing individual electrons to be confined to a space just a few nanometers across. Scientists have fabricated two- and three-dot devices in the past, but a real processor would need many more. Delbecq and his colleagues have now used a similar approach to create a four-quantum-dot structure, proving the scalability of this architecture.
“The number of manipulated electrons is increased only by one with respect to previous structures,” explains Delbecq, “but even a small increase in the number of electrons significantly increases the complexity of device manipulation.”
Each of the dots in the device created by Delbecq’s team was formed by three nanoscale metallic electrodes on a semiconductor substrate (Fig. 1). The capacitance between each dot couples the electron in one dot to that in the next, and the researchers could tune the strength of this coupling by adjusting the voltages applied to the electrodes. All this was achieved at extremely low temperatures, just a fraction above absolute zero.
The researchers demonstrated a scheme for both controlling the electrons in the four quantum dots and measuring or ‘reading out’ the spin state of the electrons. “The next step is to form four spin qubits with this architecture and use them to actually perform computations,” says Delbecq. The results demonstrate that quantum dot architecture has the potential to be scaled up to the number of qubits needed to realize a fully functional quantum computer.

Sheesh .. trying to give a guy a heart attack. .lol
You would need +%50 of the vote to attempt control takeover ..don't think they are remotely close
Based on what...don't start fear mongering
All I can say is YEAH BABY! Still have a long long ways to go!
From the company website..SOLAR ENERGY- no carbon emissions, unlimited supply and available to all. This renewable source is one of the answers to energy independence, but has been previously expensive to implement. Now, with advanced automated tetrapod quantum dot manufacturing, both cost and efficiency concerns are addressed. Although smaller than living cells, quantum.dots can absorb all wavelengths of visible sunlight plus the UV and Infrared. Using proprietary technologies, Solterra will manufacture very low cost solar cells utilizing Quantum Dot Technology for less than the cost of conventional solar cells. By combining Quantum Materials disruptive technologies of novel synthesis, thick shell coating and automated production, quantum dot supply problems are solved. Solterra will also use R2R production methods invented by QMC Chief Science Officer, Dr. Ghassan Jabbour, that can be scaled by increasing R2R speeds.
Our third generation quantum dot solar cells do not require custom made, expensive ,nor complex, processing equipment, and we do not use costly silicon or rare earth elements such as indium. Solterra instead will rely on low-cost screen printing and/or inkjet techniques applied to inexpensive substrates. Quantum Dot Solar Cells have extremely high potential efficiency, having demonstrated the production of multiple excitons from a single electron.
Quantum Materials patented quantum dot synthesis, developed by Dr. Michael Wong of Rice University has been acquired by Quantum Materials for Solterra Renewable Technologies, Inc. By combining this proprietary, low cost QD manufacture process with automation QD manufacture, the quantities of tetrapod quantum dots needed to supply the daily use requirements of a solar cell plant production can be scaled into the Gigawatts/year range reducing the cost of solar generated electricity to little more than grid price at today's electricity prices. With grid prices expected to continue to increase, renewable solar energy using QMC Quantum Dot Technology will not only cost less but can also be good for the environment!
Quantum Materials' Solar cells will come to market competitively priced with the opportunity to reduce prices even further as economies of scale come into effect. Additionally we believe our quantum dot manufacturing capability and print based cell manufacturing process will enable the rapid deployment of additional manufacturing sites across the globe.
Form 8-K
In addition to filing annual reports on Form 10-K and quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, public companies must report certain material corporate events on a more current basis. Form 8-K is the “current report” companies must file with the SEC to announce major events that shareholders should know about.
We have built a nice base here at $.27. Little patience while we wait for contract news and then another leg up. I certainly wouldn't be waiting on the sidelines, any news and we will have another nice run.
Ah Ex.. always the voice of reason hehe..Thanks buddy..no complaints here BUT..I do have my eye on that Italia 458 Speciale
I supposed some of us can see further than others and I will leave it at that. Good luck to you.
Please don't start the sheriff routine again.. explain this one for me...
On March 25, 2014, Facebook announced that it had agreed to buy Oculus VR for $400 million in cash, $1.6 billion in Facebook stock, and an additional $300 million subject to Oculus VR's meeting certain financial targets in a transaction expected to close in the second quarter of 2014
Yes they have a product.. (hasn't shipped yet) no revenues either...I've said it before there are so many avenues for QMC in massive revenue generating sectors.. ..Energy, lighting, biomedical..the list goes on and on and on...A high SP in the $100 plus range IS entirely within reason.. I get the cart before the horse reminder but man...live a little..
The following statement gets my attention
"According to an industry report by Allied Market Research, the "Global anti-counterfeit packaging market accounted for $57.4 billion in 2013, which is forecast to generate revenue of $142.7 billion by 2020 at 13.9% CAGR from 2013-2020." Other new research from Global Industry Analysts says that the food and pharmaceutical industries are currently the most vulnerable to the actions of counterfeiters and the global market for anti-counterfeiting technologies could reach $82.2B by 2015."
Thanks for reconsidering... These IPs will result in huge revenues for QMC. Steve is a visionary as 3D printing will be the future of manufacturing can you imagine the possibility of qdots being added to all printing composites.. ensuring products are made to specific standards which would protect consumers and manufacturers from inferior counterfeit product...IMO this is amazing news..
Taken far too soon.. so sad to hear of Lynn's passing. Rest in peace...
Nice post Crunch. I'm curious as to what became of Sony and QDVisions working arrangement? Price point and quantity were the sticking points is my guess. Looking forward to our first contract.
Would love to see some promotion and analyst coverage on QMC. Steve has always shied away from pumping the company so as not to be perceived as a pump and dump stock rather letting the company grow on its own merits but IMO we need more exposure as this SP does not reflect our true value.
Let's face it some people here have already made substantial gains.. I don't get it either, this is just the beginning of a long ride... I could see us gapping up suddenly here..
LOL!!!!
Don't see this happening, investors realize the potential of quantum dots in so many industries. Displays will only be a fraction of the revenues. Steve and the board hold the winning hard... then again $50 a share buyout you would have to think about it..lol..
Still pinching myself.. been waiting 4 years for this day.. thanks Steve for running a tight ship during the voyage.
Major milestone for QMC achieved today. Proof of concept is a huge step forward. Companies have been testing our beaker line samples for months now IMO the reactor coming online and delivering as designed will now signal that multiple revenue generating contracts will soon follow. This train is leaving the station ..doubters better run to catch the ride of a lifetime...
Danny you beat me to it that's my dream car 458 Italia speciale!! I'll throw a SP guess at $.42 On a more serious note, Lynn we are all thinking about you and hope you recover quickly.. Appreciate all you have contributed to the board and hope to meet you and all the long time posters one day. GLTA
This news was posted earlier this week but this repost by a differant site includes a great little video for new comers explaining QDEF technology
http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-lg-quantum-dot-displays-391966/
Lol I'm in as long as we enforce a island wide "whiskey free zone"
Thanks BigE ..taxes rates are high enough on company profits... we don't need taxation on company expenses $16 is a good start... even crazier thought is Steve has always targeted 100KG per day production. He envisioned a future need for that amount of qdot material, solar being one of the largest consumers... anyone care to calculate those sales numbers? Gigawatt solar fields can run into the billions of dollars to build.. forget a buyout I'm looking forward to the day we supply solar cells to solar farms that are built by the square kilometer ..solar cells as far as the eye can see.. The revenue streams here are insane.
Danny, the quantum dot market will be so massive in the next few years ... we are talking into the billions..it would be foolish to think we will be the only suppliers but even a fraction of the business for QMC will make us all very wealthy. . No worries from my standpoint.
