How about something like...
"We are hopeful that no wildlife will be harmed as drilling by Addax, Sinopec and their partner ERHC Energy takes place in the JDZ."
Just kidding.
FN, were you able to pull this because...
you are a WSJ subsciber? Does WSJ allow comments on articles like many online publications? If so, perhaps you could post a comment that somehow references the ERHC relationship to Sinopec/Addax.
Just a thought.
180M barrels is about two days worth...
of world consumption, right? Don't see how that's going to crush anything.
Believe he means the JDZ board...
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=5564
That "Domino Effect" comment has merit...
Or, in this case, it may be better known as "keeping up with the Joneses". If one community gets something new and better (e.g. Interaction) then soon every community will want it.
In my area, the different neighborhoods had these ugly cement "fences" on their outer perimeters along the main streets. Then, one of the communities knocked their's down and put up a nice brick wall. Now, there are just a few neighborhoods that do not have brick walls...yet.
IMO, that's money well spent...!
"On June 11, 2009, F3 Technologies paid an extra $50.00 to expedite the order..."
"DP...next operation unknown at this time..."
Hopefully we know!
Thanks, jcanada.

Just received this message from Graig Kelly at Addax
We have released the Aban Abraham drillship from its contract with us.
Kind regards,
Craig
Craig E. Kelly, C.A.
Addax Petroleum Corporation
wk: +41 22 702 9568
m: +41 79 654 4512
It only appears to blame ERHC for...
letting the world know that the contract had been cancelled. Otherwise, it clearly states that the contract was with Addax. Also, the article didn't have to include the part about the ERHC percentages, but it did, so that could actually be considered a positive, because it might generate some interest.
This part is curious though...
"The company has still not received any communication regarding the same and has so far not informed the local exchanges of the cancellation."
And it was said by David Bovell...
if I remember correctly.
Nice area...
spent some time there as a kid. We used to camp at the Corps of Engineers campground on Cranfield Road.
Maybe they are reading our board...
the article from the link now reads...
ERHC Energy said the order for Aban Abraham stands cancelled after enduring repeated delays on the ship. Consequently, Aban Offshore's stock could see some kind of negative reactions in today’s trade.

Some Hygeia Group recruiting efforts…

Happy Birthday, TS!! Guess you got...
all the candles out in one breath!
Good find, Krom. Now we know...
what was likely said in that April 29 Platts article.
Thanks, Mark. Speaking of Platts...
Any chance you could ask your source for a copy of this article that they ran on April 29? I'm still curios what was said.

By all means. And something else...
On my walk this morning, I recalled a story told at a dinner party by one of the early employees of NASA back in the '60s...
Why did the center of NASA'a manned space exploration activities end up south of Houston at what is now the Johnson Space Center? Because the Vice President at the time, Lyndon Johnson, was from Texas? Maybe part of the reason. But he said that the main reason was that Exxon (Humble Oil Company back then), owned the land where the Johnson Space Center would be built and they gave that land to the government at no cost. Very generous of them, eh? Well, yes and no. Because not only did they own the land where the space center was built, they also owned all of the land around it as well (anyone ever hear of the Friendswood Development Company?). And all of the contractors who would be supporting the center and all of the people who wanted to live and work near the center had to buy the land they would need.
My point, if Interaction is so compelling a tool that the federal government could become enamored with it, then perhaps a great many of the companies that deal with the federal government on a daily basis would be forced to adopt it as well. And what better way to get the federal government to use it, than by giving it to them. But everyone else has to buy it!
Just a thought.
Government contracts look like a good possibility...
Just some dot-connecting on a Saturday morning, but it appears that a plan to land some contracts with the federal government could be at the forefront of our new Agent's plans to achieve their revenue goal. They are a Texas company, but they obviously wanted to lock up DC and the surrounding states. Why...?
Check out this article from nextgov.com...
“As social media becomes a hit with agencies, GSA plans more offerings”
http://www.nextgov.com/nextgov/ng_20090522_7519.php
Now, how about this comment related to that article, posted at Government Executive.com
“Why reinvent the wheel, the ultimate INTERACTION social media network product alredy exists and can be used by the government for a fraction of the cost of any custom developed product. Contact me for details and trial access.”
Thom Bouis Posted May 24, 2009 9:50 PM
http://www.govexec.com/dailyfed/0509/052209n1.htm
Maybe it's just a coincidence, but the name of the person that posted that comment is the same as that of the CEO of Hygeia Group, LLC (a diversified services and marketing company in Rockwall, TX). As an aside...according to the information in the link below (scroll down to Hygeia Group), Hygeia has “five operating divisions - a global network of collaborating professionals.” That “global network”, kind of fits with this bit from the PR...”This marketing model is anticipated to be rapidly reapplied across most English speaking countries over the next 18 months producing a global network of authorized sales agents.”
http://www.powersourcing.com/Europe/osha-electrical-training.htm
Additionally, Thom Bouis of Rockwall, Texas happens to be a former government executive who more than likely knows something about the ins and outs of the federal procurement system. He also just ran for county judge. When my neighbor ran for county judge he spent the whole year on the campaign hob-knobing with our state senators and representatives, so it's likely that Mr. Bouis made some similar connections.
“Two of the Democrats are a father and son — Thom Bouis, 58, who’s running for county judge, and Scott Bouis, 22, for treasurer.
The elder Mr. Bouis, a retired federal executive...”
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/politics/local/stories/102206dnmetracestowatch.5f675988.html
So, it all paints a pretty interesting picture, and I, for one, would like to wish Mr. Bouis all the luck in the world.
Ok, so I guess it's a...
worst case/best case kinda thing. Worst case, $500,000 by 2011 or get someone else. Best case, at least $1,000,000 by 2010.
Thanks and good luck to you, too.
Maybe I'm not reading it right...
but these two statments from the PR appear somewhat conflicting...
"...however, in 2010 revenue projections are anticipated to increase 10x to $1 million."
and
"This Agent has put in self-imposed sales objectives to reach $500,000 in the calendar year 2011..."
Also, as posted earlier, this might be the Agent...

Homeport, I'm not a Platts subscriber...
so was hoping someone else might have previously posted the whole thing. Wonder if Mark could get a copy from his Platts source?
Who would want to do business with...
Machiavelli, LLC?
Machiavellianism
1. the principles of government set forth in The Prince by Machiavelli, in which political expediency is exalted above morality and the use of er aft and deceit to maintain authority or to effectuate policy is recommended. Also Machiavellism.
2. activity characterized by subtle cunning, duplicity, or bad faith. — Machiavellian, n., adj.
Old Platts article…
I was just searching around on the Platts website and saw this article blurb and was wondering if anyone might have posted the full text? I was out-of-pocket April 29 – May 2 and missed those day’s postings. Just thought I would ask before I spent time looking back.
Thanks.

Unfortunately...
No mention of July drilling, that I can see.
Charts just posted on Addax website...

While they are unlikely to mention ERHC...
hopefully they will confirm July drilling.
Here's a link where you can see...
that the story is there, "Gulf of Guinea bid to begin", but you've got to subscribe (get a free trial, at least) to get any further.

Gremlin, since you seem to have an in...
with Craig Kelly, could you contact him to see if Addax cares to confirm or deny the Lusa story that says they will be drilling in July?
TIA.
So they consider this...
Jorge Santos, the head of the bilateral authority overseeing the Joint Development Zone (JDZ) told Lusa Wednesday, that Chinese operator Sinopec would begin exploration in Block 2 in June and that Block 4 Swiss-Canadian operator Addax would begin drilling in July.
to be "rumor or speculation"? Bummer.
No need...
the link was to the article that you just posted. I had posted it in reply to your earlier request in post 162597. See post 162653, if you're still interested.
Homeport, I guess I got to the article I posted...
through the back door by doing some Google searching. I did go to the Lusa site first, but was unable to locate either article, probably because I am a non-subcriber, as you correctly guessed.
Cyberpost...Here is a Google translated version...
of a different Lusa article (different version of same article?) that also mentions the June/July drilling.
