SCORES Atlantic City!
10/08/2013
0 Comments
Scores Atlantic City recently opened up their new staggering $25 million gentlemen's club at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Hotel. To give the news media the video they needed for all the stories they wanted to do would of been a daunting scheduling project considering the construction of the club was already behind schedule by a couple months (Mr. Gans is perfectionist... who's gonna argue with that kind of success?!?!?). So they asked us to come in and shoot the 35,000 sq. ft. club in less than a day (around dozens of construction workers and their machinery) that would work for a downloadable HD B-roll package and a future promo video. Here is the B-roll package that was given to news stations around the world.

Hmmm...OnlyNineFollowers...0ldmanbadman rdncoic
So we only have Nine followers here on the board and with all the other stock trading message boards added to that number, surely not more than 20 inestors.
While some here would say that is not good, I like it. We are the first movers in an unappreciated stock. We have bought at Price per Share Levels which when the stock Spikes, we will have lots and lots of paper Profit. (I still have Share Lots that I bought that have 1700% gain).
Then we Need to look at Paper Profit and how Greed, Fear, and Risk, influence our stock investing decisions.
Even though we have lots of Shares of cheap stock, Greed will Keep us from selling when the Share Price (SP) rises because Greed will make us think that if we sell too soon, we will miss the high Point of the spike. And Greed will make you buy more at the inflated Price of the spike. You want more and more and more...Greed. And then that paper Profit starts to disapear like rainwater after a storm in the desert.
And then Fear will make you sell your Shares on the market for less and less and less until not only is the paper Profit gone, you now have a loss instead of a really nice gain in cash. And the Greed made your Price per share really go up......Because you bought on the way up expecting to make even more Money.
And lastly, Risk jumps in and you see a possible loss of everything you had planned for. Everything seems out of your control. Your paper profits caused you to make decisions based on Fear, Greed, and Risk. And now every decision you make is the wrong one. And now you start praying to the L..D to save your greedy rearend. :( :( :(
But wait a Minute. You have your free investing friend oldmanbadman rdncoic here on this lonely stock investing board. Can he Help? Of course he can help. You have already bought SCRH at the bottom of the market. All you have to do is sell at a Profit.
I wrote once about Level 1/2/3/4/5/ trading. When you have Level trading Information, you can see who (only the stock Company, not the individual) is buying, who is selling, at what SP and how many. I don't have it myself, but as I said once before, I have a Broker friend that informs me by telephone on a regular Basis about the Level Trading Orders in Buy and Sell.
Not looking at the lower buy and sell orders, but the big ones. Right now as I write this Little note, there are orders out there to buy and sell SCRH at .15 Cents, .17 Cents and all the way up to .75 Cents US. Over 3 Million Shares would Change Hands with These orders when the SP Spikes on good News or profits or whatever. (Who are These People and how do they know the SP is going to spike? Three words, Friends And Family)
I have about 10 orders to Sell at between .17 Cents and .75 Cents US and if the SP hits my sell order, the Broker already has my order and is required to sell based on the date of the order.
So what does that mean? It means I already bought a lot of cheap Shares and I am willing to sell at the low end and the high end. I have about a Million Shares on orders to sell out there from .17 Cents to .75 Cents. I did that on the first spike also. Of course I sold Shares at the low and at the high. So what! I made Money. And I have no more Greed, Fear, And Risk! After I sell the Million Shares, I got lots more to hold if necessary. Besides, I just want a designer pool to go with my other toys I have..........................Still waiting for the pool while I improve the Acre Yard I have. Over 70 trees planted and still growing. :) :) :)
Now back to the 20 Investors following SCRH. None of them are Friends and Family. They get their Insider Information from other sources and think we are stupid. Perhaps, but if we can make Money without Insider info, maybe we are not so stupid.
Remember this, It Is Your Money! Do your DUE DILIGENCE and do not blindly follow anyone posting stock info. Not me or anyone else. :) :) :) :) oldmanbadman rdncoic
READY TO RUMBLE! BUT STILL HUMBLE!
DISCLAIMER! I pump SCRH and I own SCRH and I will dump SCRH. GOT SCRH? I GOT SCRH!

So, watching and using past experience as a guide, the insiders are already informed of good news from EVI. Same old story, small shareholders are waiting for good news, and the insiders are already collecting shares before the spike. So what is the good news? Could be buyout as in taking the company private, more sales and profits, announcement of another dividend, or more than that combined.
Good luck investors of EVI...Remember it is your money, invest wisely and do due diligence at every level. oldmanbadman rdncoic

One last interesting post from Australia.
Moko.Mobi is our second small stock. It is hoping to harvest cash from the vast US college and college sporting system through the wonders of the now ubiquitous smartphone.
The idea is to combine some of the social aspects of Facebook with the practical aspects of college life, ranging from timetables to sporting and cultural events.
From the college point of view, having an individually tailored application that can reach its entire student population instantly is a dream come true.
It means they can change venues at a moment's notice, communicate with students in real time and ensure that only appropriate messages are communicated.
The plus for Moko is that it owns the platform and can profit by placing appropriate advertising on the mobile pages. So a pizza shop that wants to offer a two-for-one deal on a slow night could advertise the deal specifically for the local college population.
Moko chief executive Ian Rodwell said a three-year deal with ACIS (American Collegiate Intramural Sports) in March was a real breakthrough, giving the company sporting service access to more than 200 colleges.
College sports are huge in the US and already have an established advertising relationship with major companies which will be happy to piggyback the fast growing wave of mobile advertising.
Mr Rodwell is hoping this will be the first of other similar deals, along with applications for individual sports that can provide a point of contact for people and also for college alumni who want to keep in touch with their old school.
Mobile advertising has come from nowhere to be a significant force, growing to an estimated $US7.3 billion this year and a predicted $US16.2 billion by 2015.
Facebook alone carried $US375 million of mobile ads in the first quarter of this year - 30 per cent of its total advertising revenue and up from zero a year ago.
Of course, there are no guarantees for Moko but with first-mover advantage, a tried and tested digital platform and considerable experience in customising applications, it has to be in with a chance.
A speculative buy with the potential to spread its wings once it graduates

Scores Adult Entertainment Complex Hosts Media Preview Event at the Taj
imagesATLANTIC CITY — Word of a revolutionary, $25 million adult entertainment complex coming to the Trump Taj Mahal began circulating about three years ago, and on Wednesday, Aug. 28, a media preview tour of Scores Atlantic City confirmed that the 36,000 square-foot club will be unveiled on the Taj’s second floor starting Thursday, Sept. 12.
The club will be open seven days per week year-round, with its hours of operation being Sunday through Thursday, 4pm-6am, and Friday and Saturday from 4pm-8am. Scores will be the first establishment of its kind to operate inside a U.S. hotel and casino. Starting opening night, Sept. 12, and every Monday night as a prelude to Monday Night Football, the 97.3 ESPN-FM radio team of Mike Gill and Todd Ranck will discus Philadelphia sports news from 6-8pm. The broadcast will take place in the Spread — one of Scores’ eight components. 002852_FP_RobertsAC.indd
“What we’ve created at Scores Atlantic City is a high-tech social and sensory playground built entirely around the pursuit of escape and fantasy,” said Bob Gans, managing partner of Scores Atlantic City and the man who created Scores New York — arguable the most famous adult club brand in America.
During the media tour, Gans emphasized that Scores dancers will only disrobe down to pasties and G-strings, but will not become completely naked. Scores’ labyrinth of components includes: the Electric Fantasy Room, a futuristic gentlemen’s club and showroom with multiple stages, VIP seating and cabana-style private rooms; the Distrikt, a red-light fantasy corridor; the Libertine Room, an ultra-luxe celebrity and high-roller lounge; the Black Box Cabaret, a state-of-the-art special event space that can be reserved with Scores dancers in it; the Blue Velvet Theater, the home to a male revue called the “Real Men of Scores”; the Spread, an intimate sports bar; the Deck at Scores, an oceanview day club and nightclub experience; and the Scores Collection retail store.

ATLANTIC CITY -
In just two weeks the newest adult attraction in Atlantic City will be unveiled. Scores, located in the Trump Taj Mahal is intended to be a classy adult entertainment complex.
Behind the curtains is a venue like no other. A place where Bob Gans, Managing Member for Scores, says you can drink, watch the game and partake in an exotic experience. "Each area offers something different for the night life people that come here."
Scores is a $25 million dollar adult entertainment complex, where the owners say beautiful women will dance for your entertainment. But Gans says they won't bare it all. He also says Scores will be a classy seven-venue establishment, unlike what already exists in the city.
"They are more strip clubs, than adult entertainment complexes" Gans says this will be a tasteful way to please the everyday man. "Somebody who perhaps is 40 or 50, they are not going to a dance club, they might say lets go to Scores, I understand it's a beautiful facility."
The Electric Fantasy Room is the main room of Scores, and anticipated number one money maker. That's because all of the sitting areas can be reserved ahead of time to anyone looking to spend a few extra bucks.
Down the hall is The Spread, which is a sports bar with an outside deck. Or if you are into dancing, visit the Black Box.
Coming soon for the ladies, is the Blue Velvet Theater. "Which will house the Real Men of Scores, a kind of play on some other male dancing venues. We hope to attract bachelorette parties."
But even more so casino officials want to attract these same tourists, in hopes of boosting business during the winter months.
Scores will open on September 12th. The opening is also going to provide hundreds of jobs.
OPENING DATE CONFIRMED

Ok, for those of us here, it was easy to decide when to buy, but now when push comes to shove, when do you sell?
Soon GREED, FEAR, and RISK will take over.
IF these three words take over your investing goals, you are lost. But everyone has to sell someday.................Have fun and get ready for the ride............oldmanbadman rdncoic :) :) :)
P.S. Look for the grand opening for VIPs sooner. They will have a private party for the movers and shakers as always. This will give an opportunity for the beautiful people to take a look see. Then the normal guests will be invited to come in on the 12th.....

Most of the new attractions added to the Atlantic City entertainment scene this summer have had a decidedly G-rated feel.
Well, get ready to slap an R-rating on the next one, a strip club called Scores that is scheduled to open Sept. 12 inside Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.
The $25 million pleasure palace will feature upscale decor, high-tech wizardry, exclusive VIP rooms, a sports bar and other amenities - in addition to erotic dancers performing on stripper poles.
During a media preview tour Wednesday, management portrayed Scores as a high-end entertainment venue that will give Atlantic City a leg up on the rival casino markets in surrounding states.
"This is part of the triangle - gambling, alcohol and beautiful women," said Mark Yackow, chief operating officer of Scores.
Scores is a New York import. Its Manhattan strip club is known for celebrity sightings.
"I always use the names Jay-Z and Kid Rock," Yackow said of some of the club's high-profile clients.
Bob Gans, managing member of Scores, stressed that the Atlantic City club will not be some tawdry strip joint.
"There won't be anything offensive," Gans said. "I would never own a nude club."
Dancers will strip down to pasties and G-strings but will not be allowed to get completely naked. New Jersey law prohibits nudity in Atlantic City's casinos, so the Scores dancers will retain some cover-up, however modest it may be.
"We're not fully topless," Yackow said. "The girls can dance down to G-strings. They do have pasties."
Michael Pollock, a casino analyst and managing director of Linwood-based Spectrum Gaming Group, said Scores definitely creates a sexier image for the city's entertainment scene. However, he added that Scores' success ultimately may depend on how it blends in with the broader tourism industry, particularly conventions and corporate meetings.
"The conventions and meetings business, long term, is the key segment Atlantic City needs to fully reposition itself," Pollock said. "The conventions and meetings business and all that goes with it should be the driving force that guides future marketing efforts. Adult entertainment should be positioned to assist in that effort."
Gans and Yackow said Scores is designed not only to serve as an erotic dance club, but also as a setting for special events, private parties and even a haven for conventioneers. The club is located on the second level of the Taj Mahal, across the hall from the casino's ballrooms and convention space.
"This hotel has a lot of conventions and so does Atlantic City," Yackow said, referring to the Taj Mahal.
Scores' $25 million price tag puts it near the top of the major casino attractions that have opened throughout the city this year. Only singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett's $35 million, Margaritaville-themed bar, restaurant and casino expansion at Resorts Casino Hotel cost more.
Buffett's project, along with the assorted restaurants, beach clubs, amusement rides and light shows that have entertained the crowds this summer, have been more family-oriented attractions. With Scores, Atlantic City becomes a little bit more like Las Vegas by offering high-profile, adult-themed entertainment.
"I think it's another type of venue that people will enjoy experiencing," Gans said.
Scores, however, is not alone in adult-themed casino entertainment. While planning on Scores continued, other Atlantic City casinos got the jump by debuting their own adult-oriented clubs or shows. Most notably, Ivan Kane's Royal Jelly opened last year as an elaborate burlesque club on the casino floor at Revel Casino-Hotel. Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa followed this summer with "The Burlesque Show," billed as a flirtatious variety production that pays tribute to the 1940s burlesque era.
The sprawling Scores club, though, will take adult entertainment to a new level on the Boardwalk. Gans said nothing else in Atlantic City is remotely comparable to it.
"I think it's an adult venue that is lacking in Atlantic City," he said.
Scores is not simply one club, but rather a labyrinth of bars, performance stages, private party rooms and exclusive VIP spots. Pulsating, high-tech lighting will add to the experience. Another attraction is a sports bar connected to an outdoor, oceanview deck.
Altogether, Scores features:
•The Electric Fantasy Room, a futuristic gentlemen's club and showroom with multiple stages, VIP seating and cabana-style private rooms.
•The Distrikt, a red-light fantasy corridor.
•The Libertine Room, an ultra-luxe celebrity and high roller lounge.
•The Black Box Cabaret, a state-of-the-art special event space that can be reserved with Scores dancers in it.
•Blue Velvet Theater, the home to a male revue called the "Real Men of Scores."
•The Spread, an intimate sports bar.
•The Deck at Scores, an oceanview day club and nightclub experience.
•And the Scores Collection retail store.
Yackow noted that the retail shop will sell dresses, T-shirts, shoes and other accessories. But it will not carry sex toys.
"No toys. Sorry," Yackow said, smiling.

As we told you in July—and as has been in the works since 2011, at least—Atlantic City’s Trump Taj Mahal is going to open a strip club next month, in hope that naked women will lure back all the gamblers who don’t come to town anymore. AP reports on the impending opening:
“We feel this is the third leg of the Atlantic City triangle: gambling, alcohol and adult entertainment,” said Bob Gans, the club’s managing partner. “It’s a natural.”
Gans is investing $25 million in the newest Scores, which will open Sept. 12 with five private VIP rooms, 11 stripper poles and an ultra-VIP room for celebrities and high-rollers.
Gans is confident Scores will succeed, even in a city with four other strip clubs, including one with all-nude dancers.
“There are 30 million people who come to Atlantic City every year,” he said. “You have the safety of a hotel casino, and we have the right brand and the know-how to do something that hasn’t been done before. We can be the Pied Piper here.”
And why not? There’s nothing like mixing the soul-killing adrenaline-fueled exhaustion and sadness that accompanies both gamblers and strippers at 3 a.m. Atlantic City’s about to become a 24-hour Paul Thomas Anderson movie. Those always end well, right?

4 Reasons Adult Entertainment Could Save Atlantic City

Share on Facebook!Scores says not to call its operation a strip club. The club looks at itself as providing adult-themed entertainment.
They are scheduled to open their doors in Atlantic City on September 12, the first such club to open in a casino since they started 35 years ago.
Atlantic City’s casinos have been struggling for years now. Can a drastic change from family-friendly entertainment be exactly what the resort area needs? Scores managing partner Bob Gans thinks so.
There are a number of reasons. Gans thinks the new venue for adult entertainment will help. He said, according to an Associated Press report on philly.com, "You have the safety of a hotel casino, and the know-how to do something that hasn't been done before."
He adds that his new club also has appeal for everyone. Gans said, according to atlanticcityinsiders.com, “Sports guys will love it for the sports bar. Clubgoers and anyone who loves a beautiful view of the ocean and boardwalk will enjoy the deck, there’s programming that appeals to men and women, and we’ll even have great food.”
And the attractions Scores has to offer should help Atlantic City. Scores describes itself as "an extensive labyrinth of uniquely divergent venues." Some of those venues include, according to The Press of Atlantic City, The Electric Fantasy Club, a gentleman's club and showroom with VIP seating and private rooms, The Distrikt, a red-lit “fantasy corridor,” and The Libertine Room, a celebrity and high roller lounge.
Also to be found at Scores Atlantic City are the Black Box Cabaret, a room for special events, Blue Velvet Theater, a male revue, sports bar The Spread, a retail store, and The Deck, a day club by the beach and nightclub experience.
Adding to its appeal, Gans says the new Scores will be the largest adult entertainment complex on the East Coast. He’s going for upscale clientele. He said, according to atlanticcityinsiders.com, “There is a dress code for customers and the entertainers look like they are coming from Glamour magazine.”
“It’s a game-changer for Atlantic City,” Gans added.
Thanks and a tip of the hat! I got 100,000+ of those cheap shares also. My MOKOY is doing well now so I will either take winnings from SCRH and buy MOKOY or take winnings from MOKOY and buy more SCRH..............Or not, depending on the market. V SHALL C..........oldmanbadman rdncoic

This is it guys and gals, the big pop is coming just as soon as the day traders get the news of Scores Atlantic City, and the next pop will be when revenue numbers are reported showing in the new club producing Cold.....Hard...Cash! :) :) :)

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — What if, after seven years of plunging casino revenues and fleeing customers, Atlantic City’s real problem was this: People are wearing too much clothing?
Scores, the famous New York strip club, will open a satellite establishment inside the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort next month — the first strip club inside an Atlantic City casino in the 35 years of legal gambling here.
.
It will be the most audacious adult offering in an Atlantic City casino, though it’s not the first: Revel has offered the Royal Jelly burlesque show since it opened, the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa hosts a burlesque show every Thursday night, and dancers in bras and panties are common on gambling floors, including at the Tropicana Casino and Resort and the Showboat Casino Hotel.
“We feel this is the third leg of the Atlantic City triangle: gambling, alcohol and adult entertainment,” said Bob Gans, the club’s managing partner. “It’s a natural.”
Since 2006, when the first casino opened in Pennsylvania and began taking away business that had gone to New Jersey for three decades, Atlantic City has been struggling with new competition popping up all around it. Revenue has fallen from $5.2 billion that year to just over $3 billion last year, and thousands of jobs have been lost in a decline that shows no signs of ending.
In addition to family-friendly attractions like a revamped Steel Pier amusement park, the return of the Miss America pageant and free outdoor light shows on Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City has been looking for other ways to separate people and their money. The seaside resort has a century-old reputation as an adult playground, so it’s somewhat surprising it took this long for strippers to make their way inside the gambling halls.
Gans is investing $25 million in the newest Scores, which will open Sept. 12 with five private VIP rooms, 11 stripper poles and an ultra-VIP room for celebrities and high-rollers.
Cover charges will range from $10 to $30. The club’s Diamond Dollars, which cash-strapped customers can charge to their credit cards, come with a steep 20 percent markup: $100 worth of club dollars costs $120.
Patrons and employees will have to behave; New Jersey laws governing casinos prohibit total nudity. In approving the club in December 2011, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement issued a ruling that bordered on an anatomy lesson, governing in explicit detail what can be shown and what needs to stay covered. In short, dancers may strip down only to a G-string and pasties, small fabric patches that cover the nipples. Lap dances are prohibited, as is any simulation of sexual activity.
While Las Vegas is known for its racy offerings, there are no strip clubs inside any Sin City casinos. Several offer topless stage shows and topless pools, and strip clubs regularly offer free transportation from anywhere near the Strip, including casinos.
One pool venture didn’t fare as well. The Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino partnered with a strip club to run a topless pool at the casino, but the casino shut it down in 2009 after an undercover bust resulted in 11 arrests for various prostitution charges.

Erotic-themed club Scores coming to Trump Taj Mahal
26 August 2013
NEW JERSEY -- Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort has been granted a liquor license for its new nightclub Scores, the Press of Atlantic City reported.
Scores, one of an increasing number of erotic themed clubs that flirt with Burlesque, will open shortly, the report said.
Precise details on what Scores will comprise are expected to be released imminently, according to the Press of Atlantic City.
Details about the club's grand opening are expected to be revealed this week. There are tentative plans for a media preview tour Wednesday conducted by Bob Gans, managing partner of Scores, company spokeswoman Cathleen Kiernan said.New adult-themed casino club to add to Atlantic City's sex appeal

A $25 million erotic dance club that will add to the casino industry's lineup of adult-themed entertainment has been granted regulatory approval for a liquor license.
Scores Atlantic City had been waiting for approval of a liquor license from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to open this summer inside Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.
The division has imposed a series of conditions on Scores' liquor license, but they are consistent with the standard requirements for other casino venues that serve alcohol, agency spokeswoman Lisa Spengler said.
"As with all casino hotel alcoholic beverage authorizations, additional conditions may be added to ensure adequate regulatory oversight," Spengler noted of Scores.
Details about the club's grand opening are expected to be revealed this week. There are tentative plans for a media preview tour Wednesday conducted by Bob Gans, managing partner of Scores, company spokeswoman Cathleen Kiernan said.
The project has been two years in the making, since the Division of Gaming Enforcement gave regulatory approval in 2011 allowing Scores to feature dancers clad in pasties and G-strings inside a casino. Scores' management, though, has resisted attempts by the media to label the venue as a strip club.
While planning on Scores continued, other casinos got the jump by debuting their own adult-oriented clubs or shows.
The sprawling Scores club, however, will take adult entertainment to an entirely new level on the Boardwalk. A Trump Taj Mahal press release touts Scores as "an extensive labyrinth of uniquely divergent venues." They include:
- The Electric Fantasy Club, a futuristic gentlemen's club and showroom with multiple stages, VIP seating and cabana-style private rooms.
- The Distrikt, a red-lit fantasy corridor featuring surprise attractions.
- The Libertine Room, an ultra-luxe celebrity and high roller lounge.
- The Black Box Cabaret, a state-of-the-art special event space that can be reserved with Scores dancers in it.
- Blue Velvet Theater, the home to a male revue called the Real Men of Scores.
- The Spread, an intimate sports bar.
- The Deck at Scores, an exclusive beachside day club and nightclub experience.
- And the Scores Collection retail store.
"We appreciate that the Trump Taj Mahal had the vision and business savvy to feature Scores Atlantic City as a premier nightlife attraction that appeals to everyone. It is certain to become a distinct competitive advantage in the Atlantic City marketplace," Gans said in the release.

Is Moko Australia's own next Facebook?
Date August 22, 2013

Ian Rodwell, founder and CEO of ASX-listed mobile advertising company, Moko, says the business is on track to being a $1 billion company listed on the US Nasdaq exchange.

Its origins go back to a five-person operation above a hairdresser in Perth. Now reincarnated social network company Moko is gearing up to crack the US college scene and a $US1 billion capitalisation on the world's biggest technology stock exchange.
Next month, the Western Australia company will launch a service to connect advertisers with 5 million American college students.
The ready-made audience that gave Facebook its start is proving a fertile hunting ground for the company that is hoping to crack the $US7.65 billion ($A8.5 billion) US mobile advertising market.
It's not a small challenge, given it will be competing with Google and Facebook for the dollars, but it is the first stage of a plan to list on Nasdaq, according to chief executive officer and founder Ian Rodwell.
Although this is Moko’s first tilt at US colleges, unlike Facebook, the company is no longer a start-up. Rodwell, who has a background in interactive multimedia, founded the business as Loop Mobile in 2004 to connect sports fans via instant chat on Hutchison’s 3 network in Australia. It has provided branded social networks for TV shows like Big Brother and Telstra's AFL and V8 coverage.
Moko is not alone in targeting college students. Professional networking site LinkedIn this week lowered its age threshold to accept teenage members and launched University Pages, where colleges can post updates about news and activities.
But it is counting on its users’ recreational pursuits generating a fire hose of high-value and qualified data, including location information, to inform its advertisers’ spending and result in higher ad click fees for the company.
Its first major deal with the American Collegiate Intramural Sports (AMIS) association gives it an initial audience of 5 million university students (out of 21.6 million) at 200 colleges across the country. This saves Moko from building its audience from scratch. The key to its success will be how passionate students are about their recreation, Rodwell says.
When the service goes live next month, the company will provide colleges with a back-end administrator console to list events. Students will access information from Moko’s app on their mobile devices. Moko’s challenge is to provide targeted and relevant ads alongside what are essentially calendar, chat and sharing tools.
Rodwell says the company differentiates itself by how it slices and dices student data, to ensure the right ads are shown at the right time, and its location awareness.
“The local pizza chain may not be a national or regional advertiser but it wants to reach that [college] audience,” Rodwell says. “There are regional and local advertisers who can’t get access to these audiences because they're dominated by national brands.”
The ACIS tie-up also allows it to tap into major lifestyle brands such as Nike and Adidas, as well as fast-moving consumer goods companies, Rodwell says.
“Procter & Gamble is an interesting one because they know [college] is the first time the kids have to fend for themselves and buy their own household products.
“The brand of washing powder you choose at college is probably the same brand you’re using 20 years on.”
Coming full circle
At its peak, Loop Mobile (no relationship to the Indian telecommunications reseller) had 12 million users in Australia, the US and Britain. However, this was on the old telco "closed garden" business model which was retired about five years ago when smartphones began to multiply.
The original was associated with Adultshop.com and a chat product called Kink Kommunity, but changed the product name to Moko and severed all ties with Adultshop before Loop Mobile's Australian IPO in 2007, according to a post by Rodwell to investors at the time.
The business closed its Sydney and London operations when it made the decision to concentrate on the US.
Since then, Moko has acquired smaller companies in the US and UK, provided its interactive platform for non-defunct US mobile virtual network operator Helio, and to Asian carriers. It maintains a moderation centre in Manilla to vet comments on the social networks it operates for clients.
Rodwell says Moko will continue to develop its platform from Perth, but he's relocating to New York to oversee the expanding operation.
The business earned $A18.24 million last year on operating expenses of $A21.07 million but Rodwell expects this to grow rapidly as the fresh intake of students download the app next semester.
Booming mobile ad market
It is this desire to reach consumers that last year propelled mobile advertising through triple-digit growth to $US4.26 billion and is projected to reach US$7.65 billion this year, according to market researcher eMarketer.
Google has the biggest slice with 55.7 per cent of the market followed by Facebook with 11.5 per cent. Moko will also work through buying networks to place ads on users’ screens, charging a premium and even a click-through bonus for its pre-qualified leads.
Moko’s drive towards a Nasdaq listing is causing a few headaches at home, however, as the thinly traded stock has trebled in value from 3 cents over the past month (it first listed at $0.22), causing the ASX to issue two "please explain" notices.
Moko is also spending more money than it is receiving for services, relying on investors to fund its expansion until revenues flow from some 12 pending deals.
Beyond colleges, Moko is targeting community groups with more than a million members and could grow to 100 million subscribers, Rodwell claims.
This includes political and religious associations, peak activities and adventure sports bodies, and high schools where it would customise its platform for the parents of some 50 million students, Rodwell says.
Follow IT Pro on Twitter
Moko.Mobi (MKB) 9.2c
THE results of old-media exponent Fairfax Media yesterday vaguely hinted at better conditions, thanks to cost-cutting. The broader issue though is that scattergun mass-market advertising increasingly is not working.
Enter Moko, a Perth-based mobile phone content provider hitching its fortunes to providing bespoke platforms to US colleges and sporting organisations.
Criterion assumed Harvard's most famous dropout, Mark Zuckerberg, had this covered when he devised Facebook on a bad girlfriend day.
Instead, Facebook evolved from a college-based tattle site to the global platform we all love or (increasingly) loathe.
Moko chief Ian Rodwell say the company is on a "land grab" to sign up colleges before others cotton on to the market gap.
While the platform can be used for social purposes, it's more about practical info such as advising that touch football training has been rescheduled over Thanksgiving.
Under the revenue model, Moko develops the app-based platform at no cost to the organisation, but retains the exclusive right to ad revenues and the student data base. Whether they be Nike or the local pizza joint, advertisers can tailor the message depending on whether the registered user is a nerd, jock or cheerleader.
In March, Moko signed a three-year deal with ACIS, which provides sporting services to more than 200 US colleges. Moko shares didn't react at the time to the breakthrough deal, but in freshman terminology they have gone well sick since early July.
Moko has hit a sweet spot: mobile advertising is estimated at $US7.3bn this year, five times the level of two years ago. Spec buy.

ROBERTS STEAKHOUSE AT THE TAJ
at the Trump Taj Mahal. The dry-aged beef is sublime. The steaks are aged in-house for up to 30 days. The boneless rib-eye steak, cooked at medium rare is rich, thick and flavorful. You can’t go wrong with whatever cut you select. The New York Strip and the Kobe Beef are tempting but the Rib Eye packs the biggest bite. The steak isn’t over-seasoned so you experience what you’ve come for, the steak. The unparalleled cut of meat is enough for anyone to savor. Robert’s is right up there with any steakhouse. It’s no surprise that Philadelphia Magazine named Robert’s the best steakhouse in the area. The steaks are that good and the complementary dishes are stellar as well.
The creamed spinach was more like a souffle and was a perfect complement to the unforgettable rib eye.
It’s difficult to find room for dessert after devouring such a massive piece of meat but how can you pass up the chocolate bomb, which is comprised of spiced Marsala oranges and tasty chocolate tuile? A great way to cap a night along with an expresso.

MOKO.mobi (ASX: MKB) has received its second ASX 'speeding ticket' in the form of a Price Query in successive months, following at 19% spike to $0.087 intra-day compared to the closing price last Thursday.
MKB said it was not aware of any material information that had not been released, which may explain the sudden investor interest.
The company has quite a unique business strategy, with its proprietary platform to develop and install customised mobile community applications for common interest groups such as universities and colleges.
MKB recently signed an exclusive development deal with the American Collegiate Intramural Sports Network to build and install the information system for students’ mobile devices.
This will be promoted on-campus at over 200 US colleges for up to 5 million students and branded “RecIT”.
As part of this development, MOKO has the potential to generate revenue from selling mobile advertising within RecIT.

First casino gentlemen's club looks to enhance AyCee's sex appeal

AS ANY fan of "Boardwalk Empire" knows, Atlantic City and sex have always gone hand in, um, hand. But never before has it figured so prominently in the beleaguered resort's entertainment master plan.
As you read this, several adults-only attractions are filling venues of various sizes in three different gambling dens. More to the point, Ivan Kane's Royal Jelly Burlesque and Le Male Burlesque at Revel Casino-Resort, Almost Angels at Trump Taj Mahal and "The Burlesque Show" at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa are thriving despite the town's continuing economic woes.
And later this month (the date is still TBA), adult entertainment in casinos will take a quantum leap when New York-based Scores, arguably the most famous strip-club brand in America, opens a sprawling facility on the second level of Trump Taj Mahal Casino-Resort.
So, what in the name of Hugh Hefner is going on in Vegas-by-the-Sea? According to one industry observer, the town is adding a long-missing hue to its tourism palette.
"Adult entertainment is a prominent part of the entertainment scene in Las Vegas. It is not dominant, but it is part of what makes Vegas successful," reasoned casino analyst Joe Weinert, senior vice president of Linwood, N.J.-based Spectrum Gaming. "Part of the criticism of Atlantic City over the years, rightly or wrongly, is that it is a one-horse town. Now it is being forced to broaden that base. And quality, nonseedy adult entertainment had been a missing flavor in Atlantic City."
Actually, sex in casino marketing hasn't been entirely absent in the past. Borgata famously opened in 2003 with "do not disturb" signs that read "Tied Up," instead of the traditional "Privacy Please." Male revues have come and gone through the years, while Almost Angels is 4 years old, and Ivan Kane's Royal Jelly is in its second year of operation. But this summer's additions of "The Burlesque Show" and, especially, Scores, represent a new emphasis on grown-up offerings that, if successful, likely will influence other Atlantic City gambling dens to jump into the over-21 entertainment pool.
Weinert firmly believes that using sex to lure business is a sound strategy. "I think there is room for it," he said. "Other casino operators will be looking to see if these establishments are successful and if they can add value, both to their bottom line and the city's attractions as a whole."
Also on board is the Atlantic City Alliance, the marketing office operated on behalf of the 12 casinos and charged with promoting the town.
"Atlantic City continues to diversify the entertainment to attract new and repeat customers," said Jeff Guaracino, the alliance's chief strategy officer. "Entertainment aimed at adult audiences [is] expanding in AC and includes live shows, dancers at nightclub venues and at [other] venues. Diverse entertainment options are good for Atlantic City."
There's no question that Bob Gans thinks it's time for AyCee casinos to go all-in on pasties and G-strings. If he didn't, it's doubtful that Scores Holding Co. Inc., of which he is the managing member, would be betting $25 million on the 36,000-square-foot complex on the second level of the Taj adjacent to the pedestrian bridge to Resorts Casino Hotel.
A Scores preview
Scores Atlantic City - the first establishment of its kind inside a U.S. casino - has several distinct spaces, the keystone being the 8,000-square-foot main showroom. The high-tech playpen's signature feature (besides pole-dancing "entertainers," as the company calls them) will be a 160-square-foot LED board that provides a backdrop for the stage and is capable of countless designs and graphic permutations.
There will be state-of-the-art digital "iLights" flashing on the walls and ceiling to provide a sense of animation and visual excitement (as if the dancers won't be enough).
There also are 23 private spaces of varying sizes for those who want a more personal experience with a dancer or dancers. That said, Scores will not be a typical strip club. Full body-on-body lap dancing, the raison d'etre for this type of establishment, is prohibited in casinos by state regulation.
"There will be lap dancing, but there will be no touching," said the avuncular Gans. "If you took the lap dance as the end of the line, this would be the step before that. There will be no nudity, no underage drinking, no sex, no drugs. Everything else is OK."
This restriction isn't a problem for Gans and his minions, as Scores Atlantic City was conceived as something more than a typical gentlemen's bar.
"It's not going to be a 'strip club,' " he offered. "What it is going to be is something for everybody. We have various rooms that have been created for men, men and women, and women."
In addition to the main room, Scores will include:
_ The Spread, a TV-lined sports bar.
_ Black Box Cabaret, a multi-purpose room that can be rented (with or without female entertainers) for business or social events. It also converts into a disco.
_ The Libertine Room, which the Scores folks hope will lure celebrities. It even has its own entrance so the riff-raff needn't see the bold-facers come and go.
_ The Blue Velvet Theater, which will host a male dance revue along the lines of the Chippendale dancers.
There is also a spacious deck overlooking the beach, boardwalk and Steel Pier where smokers and drinkers can congregate.

Scores Set for Dazzling Premier inside Taj
TajScoresRendering_440x234
July 31, 2013 -
PhillyGambles benefited from a behind-the-scene look at Scores recently, and even in its incomplete state the visual impact of the venue was stunning.
Behind the blacked out wall awaits a sophisticated venue.
The Electric Fantasy room was largely complete, and the artist’s rendering used as the feature image for this article only begins to capture the effect of the web of criss-crossed light tubes. Brighter and thinner than neon, the lighting draws one in like an incandescent spider web.
The other side of the club was even more impressive. A narrow stage, lit from underneath, rings the room, with the obligatory vertical brass poles spaced out along the perimeter. Behind the stage, however, a more unique feature awaits: a solid wall of light panels sensitive to the touch. The dancers will be able to interact with the panels and change the pattern simply by running their fingers along its surface.
Scores will offer a feast for the eyes, even before the Russian as well as other international and U.S. talent that may be imported from the parent club in New York and elsewhere takes the stage. It should rival any of the night clubs in Atlantic City, and at least in decor be far ahead of the other strip clubs in the city that are not inside one of the casinos.
The Deck, partially complete, faces the AC boardwalk.
In terms of cost and scale, Scores will outdistance the competition by miles. A reported $25 million is being spent on the place. That’s almost how much some entire casinos are being bought and sold for in Atlantic City these days. Scores covers 36,000 square feet winding this way and that way with private rooms and VIP areas and plush booths. There’s an outdoor deck overlooking the Boardwalk. There’s a high-end restaurant, Robert’s Steakhouse. There’s a sports bar. And, oh yes, a male revue for women that could do lights-out bachelorette party business.
A reasonable approximation is that Scores is a few weeks from opening, perhaps the end of August, give or take a week or two.
But with all the money being spent on a lavish setting, the certainty that the entertainers will be extraordinary, and add-ons like the restaurant and sports bar, Scores will have its challenges. Consider that it will be under the constant scrutiny of gaming regulators. And customers who have certain expectations from adult entertainment experiences elsewhere may find the action at a gentleman’s club in a casino a little more restricted.
Specifically, entertainers will wear pasties and g-strings, there will be no lap dances, and absolutely no two-way contact between dancers and customers. There will be table-side dances to allow for a more personal show. Table dances will largely be a stage show up-close.
So it remains to be seen whether Scores will truly appeal to the traditional strip club customer, or if it can pull in a balance of men and women. But if it fails to do either, it will not be for lack of investment in design and lighting.
If there is any pessimism to be expressed, though, it would be in comparison to Seamless, a strip club in Las Vegas near the Orleans casino. Seamless also debuted as more of a nightclub than a strip club, with an impressive stage, sound system, and a unique unisex rest room area that featured a waterfall behind the sinks, and alluring individual stalls with LCD glass doors that went from transparent to opaque with the flick of a switch. In fact Seamless tried to operate partially as a nightclub and a strip club. It failed as both.
