This guy is a "key" figure in this relationship. His connection is explained somewhere on the website. It's good to know that he is well connected:
"The evening's keynote address was delivered by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BioEnterprise Asia, Mr Gurinder Shahi. Dr. Shahi is trained in molecular biochemistry and international health policy and management and his work experience includes work on life science technology assessment, strategic business planning, R & D and work process improvement, performance appraisal of joint ventures and strategic alliances, market strategy development, economic and policy analysis for health intervention and evidence-based decision-making for investment and implementation.
Dr Gurinder Shahi speech was entitled 'Accelerating Bio Innovation & Bio Entrepreneurship Development' and he discussed the issues, challenges and opportunities facing life science technology entrepreneurs and early stage enterprises, and reveals the critical factors for successful bio-entrepreneurship that he has gleaned from years of traversing the rugged BioBusiness landscape."
Someone may want to look into BioEnterprise Asia.

So if I understand this correctly...when they are in negotiations they are not allowed to discuss it...and when they are NOT in negotiations, they are not allowed to discuss it either...someone please mail them back and ask if this is a company of mutes! lol (Just kidding, do NOT mail them back. mahastock...It has to do with the Malaysian laws regarding company organization. This should help:
Company Structure
The Companies Act 1965 is the principal legislation governing companies in Malaysia. Under the Act , every company intending to carry on business in Malaysia must register with the Registrar of Companies (ROC) before conducting any business activity. The Act provides for three types of companies:
A company limited by shares, where the personal liability of its members is limited to the par value of their shares.
A company limited by guarantee, where the members guarantee to meet liability up to a nominated amount if the company is wound up.
An unlimited company, where there is no limit to the members’ liability.
Company Limited by Shares
The most common company structure in Malaysia is a company limited by shares. Such limited companies may be either private (Sendirian Berhad or Sdn. Bhd.) or public (Berhad or Bhd.) companies.
Private Companies
A company having a share capital may be incorporated as a private company if its Memorandum or Articles of Association:
restricts the right to transfer its shares;
limits the number of its members to 50, excluding employees and some former employees;
prohibits any invitation to the public to subscribe for its shares and debentures; and
prohibits any invitation to the public to deposit money with the company.
Public Companies
A company can be formed as a public company or, alternatively, a company which is incorporated as a private company can be converted to a public company subject to Section 26 of the Companies Act 1965.
A public company cannot offer shares to the public unless a prospectus which complies with the requirements of the Companies Act has been registered with the ROC. The proposal for the issue or offer of shares to the public should first be submitted to the Securities Commission for approval before a prospectus can be accepted for registration.
A public company can apply to the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) for permission to have its shares quoted on the Exchange, subject to compliance with the requirements laid down by the KLSE. Any subsequent issue of securities (e.g. issue by way of a rights or bonus, or issue arising from an acquisition, etc.) requires the approval of the Securities Commission.

As always well thought out advice. And since it was I that posted the original link to the site, I would like to take just a moment to explain my thought process.
The link to the July 28, 2003 DNA Phenomics PR was actually passed along to me by a friend who found it but didn't have time to examine it. From his preliminary look at the PR, he thought there may be a connection, but he was on his way out and wouldn't get another chance to look at it until later in the week. He passed it along to me and told me to "Do with it what you will."
In considering whether to post it I considered the following:
1) The website is public domain as are the PR's issued by DNA Phenomics. Granted they didn't mention DNAP by name, but I recognized DNAP's science once I read the "Resources" page.
2) While looking at the Management of the company, I noted that the COO's bio contains the following text, "Working closely with his partners in the U.S., Ezehan assembled an experienced team of business leaders, scientists, and investors to quickly bring DNA Phenomics into existence." From this I concluded that, a) his partnership appeared to have been established, as in past tense, and b) the Malaysians didn't seem concerned with it being public knowledge that they were working with U.S. companies.
3) That left DNAP and their reason for privacy. Rightly or wrongly, I concluded that their reason probably has more to do with the SEC than it does with their desire that this be kept quiet. They may not be ABLE to say anything, but that wouldn't preclude some saavy investors from taking a closer look.
What the members of this board did with the original post is truly amazing. I will reiterate that this is really an all star class of invest(igat)ors...lol The fact that this came on the heels of the Senecio discovery, and that the two ended up connected is extraordinary.
I concur with the thought that we should exercise caution, and shouldn't interfere in the company's dealings. I would certainly not post anything that I thought was out of bounds, and would encourage all investors to judge their actions and the potential ramifications very carefully before acting.
At the same time, I would point out that if a group of amateurs hanging out on a stock board came up with this information, then it is likely that other entities that are seriously interested in DNAP's business dealings know this already.
Heck, look at how much more secure that site is already, once we alerted them that their backside was a bit exposed...lol
Good advice for all. Thanks.

Early...Connections to Senecio. Check this out:
Staff Members
Ezehan Reza Kamaluddin
Vice President, Operations
As Vice President of Operations, Ezehan is responsible for the company's day-to-day activites, including strategic planning and cross-company initiatives.
Upon learning of the ground-breaking work unfolding in the field of genomics and following discussions at BioMalaysia 2002 with Dr. Gurindfer Shahi, one of the region's most influential scientists, Ezehan turned his attention to the business of biotechnology. Working closely with his partners in the U.S., Ezehan assembled an experienced team of business leaders, scientists, and investors to quickly bring DNA Phenomics into existence.
Prior to the founding of DNA Phenomics, Ezehan was a Business Development Executive for an events management company (ICFM Sdn.Bhd.) where he was responsible for event management, sponsorship, and marketing. More recently he provided investment analysis for RHB Research Institute, a subsidiary of the RHB Group of companies.
A graduate of the Victoria Institution, Ezehan also holds a degree in International Business from the prestigious Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration, International Center.
Sound familiar, it should. From the Senecio site:
Strategic Alliances
The BScBA degree program and the Small Business Center of the Helsinki School of Economics, respectively, form the core academic and service programs of the Mikkeli Business Campus. In addition to the academic degree program, the campus offers students and members of the community a wide array of learning and experiential opportunities. The Small Business Center also has offices in Helsinki and St. Petersburg, Russia. The Helsinki School of Economics is the third oldest institute of higher learning in Finland. It is a member of CEMS, EQUIS and AACSB International. The Mikkeli Business Campus can be reached by telephone (+ 358 15 20441), fax (+358 15 211334), or on the world wide web (www.mli.hkkk.fi).

Miss Scarlet/GCBR/Slopster...Re: YourDNA Website
That actually is an old site. That had been discovered and discussed on the RB Board several months ago.
Kvdshade admitted that the site is his (with partner or partners), but that it is an old site that was looking to market DNAPrint tests. I believe he said that in the end, the company didn't want to deal with that small a player.
If you ask him, he'll explain it for you but I don't think it will be of any use to speculate much about that one.

The interesting part is that the website has a button on the left side menu for "Strategic Alliances". Push the button, and DNAPrint doesn't come up. However, as you point out, if you use the "search" box at the bottom of the menu, BINGO!
Just to make certain it wasn't a general internet search box, I entered a few other companies with "NO results found".

Senecio Software Continues its Growth
The early design philosophy of streamlining the survey process through the use of a GUI questionnaire editor and data collection program has been expanded to include the ability to survey anyone, anytime, anywhere - a design philosophy shaped by a growing body of powerful new Internet-related technologies and software design tools.
Engineers at Senecio Software recently completed work on the first version of our survey system, AskAnywhere®. It is now possible to write a questionnaire using any desktop computer, have that survey delivered to anywhere on the globe, in any language, from any location, and, eventually, through any delivery system - web, laptop, WAP phone, kiosk or CATI.
Along with their ongoing work on AskAnywhere®, engineers at Senecio are also designing population estimation and object identification systems using high resolution satellite imagery, and new data gathering systems for the personalization of medicine revolution.

DougS...I may have given the wrong impression. I'm not talking in terms of long term commitment or licensees. I would find it prudent to make arrangements with several providers, especially if I foresaw a potential surge in my forensics business.
Sometimes rapid growth is the most difficult to manage. It can create severe budget strain and in the case of a small company with limited manpower, your inability to produce can destroy a reputation before it is even built.
Testing for the markers themselves is fairly routine. If these other labs are running Ancestry tests, they can run DNAWitness tests (afterall, it's the same test). They can also perform the STR testing if DNAP gets a client that is looking for a one stop shop. DNAP has the ability to receive the test data via internet connection to Sarasota. All it takes then is for DNAP's software to generate the solution.
Although I certainly don't know this to be the case, if I were running things I would have made similar contingency plans. Near term, I want to be able to efficiently execute ANY business that comes my way. In the mean time, I am lining up a platform provider and developing a chip based test to address my long term goals.
I believe their long term plan is for the government labs themselves to be running the tests, and accessing the software via a secure internet connection to generate the solution. All it takes is a well established chip based genotyping platform provider and an equally well established worldwide network of secure servers. BTW, the same internet provider could provide the link to the CODIS database to facilitate rapid integration to the Federal system.
The labs buy chips and reagents from the platform provider. DNAP earns a small royalty on every kit sold. Then, every time a lab accesses the service via the web, they are charged. Billing would be nearly automatic, accounting greatly simplified, and manpower requirements almost non-existent.
The vast majority of the increase in Federal spending is going to flow to government labs to purchase new equipment, hire technicians, and perform the testing in-house. That's the money we need to tap, and that would be my plan. And of course, the private labs could purchase the test the same way down the road, so it's not as if they are being used and would be left out long term.
Of course, all of this is JMHO. Boy, I bet you're sorry you responded! lol
Talk to you later, my friend.
W2P
GoldEagle...Just to warn you, an offer like that can end up costing you a good portion of your DNAP wealth...LOL But if you insist, I have no choice BUT to graciously accept your offer. Hope to see you sooner than later.

saeternes...They offer DNAP's Ancestry test, which I find interesting in the fact that they are also a forensic DNA testing company and the Ancestry test is the same basic test as DNAWitness. Seems to be that that puts them in a position of offering DNAWitness if DNAP gets a client that wants to deal with an accredited lab, but wants DNAWitness. The witness part is speculation on my part, though.
You may also want to check out a company called Genetic Identity. They also offer DNAPrint's Ancestry test.
