While I would love to see oil back at $20 and DCR through the roof, long term I think this is/was needed to spur alternative energy investment. I've never seen so many articles online about automakers ramping up hybrids, politics, microbiological research in oil fields, etc. If oil keeps it up long enough, we could see some major changes in energy consumption thought processes and improved solar, wind, tidal, and storage technologies.
As a side note to this whole mess, I would think that the US midwest flooding is going to hamper ethanol production/supplies some also.
I'm looking forward to the next DCR though. DCR was a good idea, the timing just wasn't right and all stocks and investments are about timing.
you can also see them here real time.

Oil microbes and LS9. Wish I could buy some stock in that.

And if you notice the B/A fading out to 4 digits. I think oil coming down in a big way starting tomorrow.
WTIC $110 by Friday and DCR and DUG gonna boom I think.
"Even with record highs in the U.S., prices remain far cheaper than in Europe and some parts of Asia. Oil-related protests have swept Europe, with fishermen staging strikes in Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium and Italy. Several Asian countries, including India, Indonesia and Malaysia, have slashed fuel subsidies, raising prices for millions of consumers and sparking demonstrations."
I guess the squeaky wheel syndrome and enough people raising hell gits the job done every time.

"The Saudis are concerned that sustained high oil prices will eventually slacken the world's appetite for oil, affecting them in the long run."
That's what I think too. When you're selling something and you think the price is too high, that warrants some serious introspective in my book.

Commodities
Good article on the weather in the midwest and commodity prices.

Hittin below 131 now.
You are correct, however a lot can happen in 15 days.
BTW, Orlando was great. Disney has done a wonderful job with the parks and transportation there. Weather was beautiful and the post holiday crowds were pretty light. Great part of the country.
It's risky all right, but bought it with play money so I'm gonna just see what happens. If it goes to zero, well I won't be surprised.
Well, MOD or no MOD I'm buyin some DCR right here.
lol, as a side note WM is at a 13 year low.
Anybody know of some good bicycle, skateboard, or scooter companies?
19 million share days are not indicative of 35 million outstanding shares.
technically maybe. But I remember a guy named Rudy who signed some ACUP papers before the R/S so lets not split hairs here.
Hope everyone has a great week next week. Heading out to Orlando for 10 days. May the pincers keep on pinching whilst I'm away lol!
Picked up a few AAAE this morning
Yeah me too. Been in and out of it a few times, it's been a slow, steady mover though.
AFT filling the gap
BRLC 15 min pinch
What will really be cool would be to see the short interest right now after it ran above $2.50.
Wait until this 15 min pinch fills out and everyone will feel much better by the end of the day. It's going to go up just as fast or faster than it came down.
VVUS
that should've been on a divers list a few days ago
I think it's got legs.
Reminds me of IPII back a few years ago before it ran to $30. Low float just like IPII only this has way, way more potential.
I'm just hanging around swingin with the punches. My honest opinion and some of you might laugh is that if the technology proves out, market cap of $300 million is not unrealistic in the least.
Today's pullback was expected by many I think. I know I did.
Can't believe there is still only 14 boardmarks! Amazing.
NEXM up big today.
MMGW in whoopeeville.
---------------
Wow, what a day.
Just got in, market cap is still very low for the technology. The Army plan is really more or less a validation of the augmenter technology so my plan is to just sit tight. Maybe I'll put a stop down about 1.70 or so but otherwise, in for the ride.
Even a $50 million buyout puts this way on up there.
I tend to make more money when I don't sit around and look at L2 all day anyway.
Sell dem shares Rudy, sell 'em! We all knew it would happen after the 9000 R/S. Personally, I think the tiger is wearing the wrong stripes but that's just my opinion!
And I was the 8th today. Looking good here!
5 million authorized too MA SOS
wish I'd seen it a week ago.
MMGW
WHOOSH
Wow, only 8 boardmarks here now?
NEXM with some volume too
XRIT 15 min pinch
TREN
I've been trying to figure out why this hook looks so good considering the recent Cornell info about them but I can't figure it out. The stuff I'm reading says keep away with a big stick. Just an FYI since this is coming up on some of my scans.
Here's the March 6 info from Yahoo:
"The Company is party to an Investment Agreement, dated as of June 28, 2006 (the "Investment Agreement"), with YA Global Investments, L.P. (formerly Cornell Capital Partners, L.P.) ("YA Global"), pursuant to which the Company issued to YA Global 25,000 shares of Series E Convertible Preferred Stock. On March 1, 2008, the Company failed to make a mandatory redemption payment required under the terms of the Investment Agreement and related transaction documents. Pursuant to the terms of the Investment Agreement and related transaction documents, the failure to make such payment constitutes an Event of Default, upon which YA Global may require the Company to redeem all or any portion of its Series E Preferred Shares. As previously disclosed in the Company's current report on Form 8-K filed with the Commission on February 14, 2008, YA Global has already demanded that the Company redeem all of YA Global's shares of Series E Convertible Preferred Stock for the full liquidation amount, plus accumulated and unpaid dividends thereon, in the aggregate amount of $22,491,147."
congrats skidzz on becoming mod!
NEXM pincer BB tight
MERX running a bit on low volume
AFT looking good
