Su,
Excellent news...thanks for the post. Gold is up in Asia trading and I suspect it will add to the pop we will see from this news.
-faz
I always hate wishing ill on people, but in this case, I will make an exception. I too hope that the shorts got their asses handed to them and it will be interesting what happens next week with the Fed meeting.
have a great weekend!

For stockbandid,
I agree with your assessment. I believe that with news of exploration in Alaska, this stock will take a bounce and if they can get some kind of production, then it will skyrocket. For me, I have been watching this one for a while. I bought a bunch at .26 a while back and turned a profit when it hit .57. I have since bought back my position at .45 and .42 and will be holding this for the long term.
Thanks for the heads up and you did leave me scratching my head regarding DOIG and LXRA.
Have a great weekend!
-faz
Awesome site. Thanks for that!
I just wish I had the stomach to pull the trigger before the earnings were released. I just couldn't justify the risk with the way a large number of companies were reporting decent results and were getting clobbered. Anyway, I am happy about my entry point as we will definitely be higher in a month.
-faz
I think we will see $41+ before Thanksgiving!
-faz
smart move. I waited until earnings report was in and I bought in today at 34.71. I think that this has the potential to run to $50+ if China continues to develop at brake neck speed.
Thanks for having a board on this one. Great company.
-faz
Makes,
I have been asking myself one question for quite a while now and that is: Did Berman start this new direction for the company with the honest intention of mining Uranium or did he knowingly plan on screwing over the investors?
Everything that we have seen would indicate that it is the latter, but I still try to give Berman the benefit of the doubt.
What are your thoughts?
-faz
Good call on the entry point. Did you end up holding out until now? We just need some kind of news out and mention of revenue generation and we could see an increase in PPS. Until then, I think we are going to trade at these levels.
-faz
NXG is getting a lot of love lately. Motley Fool (who cares though) said this is a good stock for new money.
We just need to break through the 50 day MA at 2.86 and then we can can start looking higher.
Doesn't hurt that gold is making new highs!
-faz
EZ,
That is a nice article as it shows the politicians are in a tough spot right now. If these guys give the impression that they are not going to promote business in their provinces, then maybe the miners will begin applying some pressure by suggesting that another candidate might be more attractive during the next election cycle.
I am not a Canadian and can't begin to understand the FN issues but politicians are all the same, they just need power and money.
I wonder if all the upgrades that are coming in have a little more behind the scenes info than anyone here. I still think that the FN guys should be loading up on shares and then capitulate to Northgate and watch the money come rolling in.

Sorry bro. My subscription went to free a while back and have not gotten around to renewing it. What a great day today!!
Thanks for keeping me honest.
-faz
Make that 167 million!
Let the selling begin!! 77 million so far.
Excellent news. November 5th will be an interesting conference call. Looking forward to it.
-faz
Righty,
I have been traveling for the last 3 weeks and have not had a chance to post very much. I should have a chance to be more visible over the next few days. I have a lot of posts to read.
Thanks for the updates!
-faz
Nope, I have just been away travelling like a maniac for the past three weeks. I have a tough enough time keeping an eye on my positions let alone post.
I like this company a lot since they have a good group of people running things. I have loaded the boat between .45 and .49. This is a very long term play for me and I think they will turn things around in 2008, I just think this is the bottom here.
-faz
Thanks Blue!
It has been on the radar screen, however, my time has been consumed lately by BLTA and DPDW.
Might have to unload the profits that I made with DPDW and put them in here.
-faz
NYBob,
I have been looking into this company and it looks like a real steal right now. I am going to be doing some more DD for the next few weeks, however, with gold at record highs, this is not going to stay at these levels for long.
-faz
I think we will see a breakout into the .20's here very soon. I think this stock had great potential. I am sitting on tens of thousand of shares that have been paid for, so I am sitting back and going to let this one fly (no pun intended!)
-faz
Tell me about it. That is why trying to trade a stock like this from day to day is so tough and warrants either taking up drinking or buying a huge supply of pepto!
I like what this company has and will be making my next position permanent. With all my other stocks, I buy them and forget about them.
-faz
What news is really going to move this stock other than that they have hit a sizable uranium deposit and they will be beginning mining operations. I would love to see more on the details of how they plan to sell this. I am assuming Denison, but what are the terms.
I would expect a little pop, but other than that, I am not holding my breath.
Aware...nice efforts on the website. Things look great. If we only had this 4 months ago, things may have been different. Keep up the good work!
-faz
Bro, I would be up the creek big time, but I would be buying boat loads. I have a substantial position in Schlumberger that I have held for many years and have continued to add to. There is a lot of noise out there right now of SLB moving to make another acquisition. I am not sure what it is, but your post could have some truth behind it!
-faz
You still holding any RSDS or have you moved it all into this stock?
Love the chart. I am surprised it didn't take a breather a day or so back. I sold at 1.49 thinking that would be the top. Kicked myself for that seeing that we have gone much higher. Almost pulled the trigger to get back in this morning, but was traveling and couldn't get to my broker.
Love this company and my next position will be for a long term hold. The Oilfield Services sector is heating up and I think a good earnings report from SLB(which I am fully expecting) on the 19th of October will move this stock higher, especially if DPDW drops a news update about there dealings with SLB right after the earnings release.
-faz
Hey Dak!!
Nice to see you! I have been gone for a while. Loving this action on DPDW. I am not sure where it will pull back to but I think that anything between 1.30 and 1.40 will be a good buy. My orders are in!
-faz
50 day is at .44 and it hasn't touched below that since early September. If this does flirt underneath the 50 day MA, it won't be in any great volume. I have my orders in for .45 and will hold tight. Once those are gone, I hope that you get all your fills there and when this thing breaks out, I think we will form a new base in the .60's. As soon as we get to drilling in Alaska, we will be sitting nice.
Nice to see this board getting a little more attention. Good luck to you!
-faz
Cheers EZ!!
I watched the L2's for the past few days and added to my position this morning at 2.63. I am a bit disappointed that I missed out on the 2.55's, but hey, I am now positioned nicely for the long haul. I am really looking forward to the conference call.
-faz
stockbandid,
I like the charts from here and think that there is some potential for a .10 to .15 swing to the upside. I have been sitting on the sidelines since I sold at .63 after picking some up at .26. I think that we have been sliding along the 50 day MA and will hang out here for a little while, however, I think that this is the bottom. I will be adding here tomorrow at .45.
-faz
I am showing a buy of about 55,000 shares at 2.76 at the close? Is that right?
-faz
Hey guys, any thoughts on the action today? I have been away for a while traveling like a maniac, thus my absence on the board. I will be here more frequently and have a lot of messages to catch up on.
-faz
Do we know which mill? We can assume it is the White Mesa Mill, but why be so secretive.
"A contract has been obtained from a mill and, upon its completion and subsequent acceptance, Russell Industries will receive a "lot number" designated for the uranium ore it delivers."
Also looks like they don't have the acceptance yet. They have the pile, but just no buyer yet.
Last thing, why are we getting so worked up over a pile of tailings found on one of the claims? I would be much happier if this came out of the ground from holes we were drilling.
-faz
there she goes!!!
Just need to break through the .94 barrier and then on to the huge psychological barrier of $1.00
Love todays action so far!!
-faz
Dak!!
Loving the news!! I know Schlumberger very, very well and I am very excited that Deep Down is dealing with them. If the leader in oilfield technology is buying your product, then you know it is good.
-faz
Captain,
Very true. Good links. Schlumberger is the leading oilfeild services provider in the world. They provide awesome technology and expertise to the upstream side of the oil and gas industry. They are buying lots of companies to continue to grow their already massive portfolio of services. However, I do not think that they will acquire Deep Down as it is not the right fit for the company. They used to seal in rigs, bits, IT stuff, but it pulled them away from pure oilfield services. This is what they do best. I would not be surprised if Schlumberger bought a large chunk of the company, but I don't think they would buy it outright to assimilate into their company.
Loved the PR today. This stock is going to start moving really soon, IMO.
-faz
Anyone who did not vote to condemn the moveon ad is in no way fit to be the President of the United States. If the Republican's were smart, they would jump all over this. Nice thing is that it is on the record and she can't spin it, therefore, it could always come back to nail her in the campaign for the general election.
-faz
Has there been any confirmation that she has in fact returned the money?

MIT Student Arrested For Fake Bomb At Logan
Police Say Simpson Had Circuit Board, Wiring, and Play-Doh
(WBZ) BOSTON An MIT student with a fake bomb strapped to her chest was arrested at gunpoint Friday at Logan International Airport and later claimed it was artwork, officials said.
Star Simpson, 19, had a computer circuit board and wiring in plain view over a black hooded sweat shirt she was wearing, said State Police Maj. Scott Pare, the commanding officer at the airport.
"She said that it was a piece of art and she wanted to stand out on career day," Pare said at a news conference. "She claims that it was just art, and that she was proud of the art and she wanted to display it."
The battery-powered rectangular device had nine flashing lights, he said. Simpson also had Play-Doh in her hands, he said.
The phrases "Socket to me" and "Course VI" were written on the back of sweat shirt, which authorities displayed to the media. Course VI appears to be a reference to MIT's major of electrical engineering and computer science.
Simpson was charged with disturbing the peace and possessing a hoax device, and was to be arraigned in East Boston District Court later Friday.
"I'm shocked and appalled that somebody would wear this type of device to an airport," Pare said.
Simpson was "extremely lucky she followed the instructions or deadly force would have been used," Pare said. "She's lucky to be in a cell as opposed to the morgue."
Simpson is a Massachusetts Institute of Technology sophomore from Hawaii, officials said.
Simpson was a member of MIT's swimming and diving team in 2006, according to the team's Web site, which lists her hometown as Kihei, Hawaii, and her high school as Hawaii Preparatory. MIT spokeswoman Patti Richards confirmed that Simpson is an MIT student, but said the school could not immediately confirm any other details and did not have further comment.
She was arrested about 8 a.m. outside Terminal C, home to United Airlines, Jet Blue and other carriers.
A Massachusetts Port Authority staffer manning an information booth in the terminal became suspicious when Simpson -- wearing the device -- approached to ask about an incoming flight, Pare said. Simpson then walked outside, and the information booth attendant notified a nearby trooper.
The trooper, joined by others with submachine guns, confronted her at a traffic island in front of the terminal.
"She was immediately told to stop, to raise her hands and not to make any movement, so we could observe all her movements to see if she was trying to trip any type of device," Pare said. "Had she not followed the protocol, we might have used deadly force."
Pare said Simpson took a subway to the airport, but he was not sure if she had the device on at that time.
She told authorities she was at the airport to greet someone arriving on a flight from Oakland. Authorities verified information as to the name of the passenger she was greeting, and said he had already left the airport.
"She did seem a bit upset that she was in custody. However, she was rational, and she did answer all questions as required," Pare said.
The major praised the booth attendant but said the incident is a reminder of the terrorism threat confronting the civil aviation system. Two of the four passenger jets hijacked on Sept. 11, 2001, took off from Logan.
"In this day and age, the threat continues to be there," said Pare. "She certainly jeopardized her own safety by bringing this to the airport, as well as the safety of everybody around her."
The city was the focus of a major security scare Jan. 31 when dozens of battery-powered devices were discovered in various locations. Bomb squads were deployed, and highways, bridges and some transit stations were temporarily closed. They turned out to be a promotion for cable TV's Cartoon Network.

Not too smart...thought MIT was supposed to be the best and the brightest??? I think her name says it all.

Ahmadinejad to Speak on Campus
By John Davisson
PUBLISHED SEPTEMBER 19, 2007
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran, has accepted an invitation to speak at Columbia from School of International and Public Affairs interim dean John Coatsworth, according to a spokesman.
The event is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 24--the same day that Ahmadinejad is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly--as part of the World Leaders Forum and will be sponsored by SIPA.
"Necessarily, on occasion this will bring us into contact with beliefs many, most, or even all of us will find offensive and even odious," University President Lee Bollinger said in a statement. "We trust our community, including our students, to be fully capable of dealing with these occasions, through the powers of dialogue and reason."
"Opportunities to hear, challenge, and learn from controversial speakers of different views are central to the education and training of students for citizenship in a shrinking and still dangerous world. This is especially true for SIPA students, many of whose careers will require them to confront human rights and security issues throughout the globe," Coatsworth said in a statement.
Registration for the event was closed down less than an hour and a half. A university spokesman said that 600 people could fit in the event.
Almost exactly one year ago, then-Dean of SIPA Lisa Anderson invited Ahmadinejad to speak on campus during the week of the World Leaders Forum on behalf of the School. Bollinger, upon learning of the event, chose not to lend it the sponsorship of the University as a whole. One day after news of the invitation broke, Anderson rescinded it, but not before many students and alumni spoke out both in favor and against the event.
Several student leaders received invitations today to speak tomorrow with University President Lee Bollinger regarding the event. Many leaders, including the heads of class councils, several club funding boards, and a number of clubs went into a discussion last soon after hearing the news of the invitation to form a statement.
"I think that first and foremost any dialogue is positive, so even though I may not agree with what Ahmadinejad says, I think any dialogue between him … and the U.S. is a positive step," Iranian-American Sheena Shirakhon, CC '08 and a member of Students against MIlitary Intervention in Iran, said of the invitation. "Mostly, that’s the result of my belief that war in Iran … would be horribly detrimental to the Iranain people, whether you support Ahmadinejad or not."
Ahmadinejad made waves earlier in the day when it came out that he had requested an opportunity to visit Ground Zero, but that the opportunity was blocked for security reasons.
- Oh so troubling!
