For all we know the "call from Washington" could have been from The U.S. Dept of Energy. I seriously doubt President Trump would have been on the call. If it even happened..
Looking at the facts, I'm under the impression it did.

Eves mentioned the call. Which took place in/or after Jan 2017.

In March 2017 management went to Cheyenne and Gillette, Wyoming to participate in collective administrative and technological efforts to help revitalize the region's coal mining and export businesses. Claiming "very productive meetings with both state and local coal representatives that were coordinated by the state business development office".

In April CCTI resumed testing at the request of the DOE to complete final requirements. Followed by the granting of a full U.S. Pristine-M patent.

In May they announced Pristine-M was financed through commercialization.

In June they had an agreement for a 2 million ton facility in WY.

In Sept they received the first payment for the project.

October came the signing of the MOU with the University.
etc etc

There's a pretty good chance IMO this was likely triggered by a high-level call from Washington.

Or, perhaps they’re buying it from themselves while using U.S. Patent-protected technologies.

P.S. Coal ash contains high concentrations of elements Y and Sc.
The U.S. has a lot of that. As does China..

Essentially that's correct.

They are converting low heat (8800 BTU) coal into a more efficient/cleaner burning feedstock, while extracting chemical byproducts and rare earths.

At least that's the plan..

Many of their talking points mirror METC's.

CCTC is correct. CCTI is an abbreviation for Clean Coal Technologies, Inc.
I should have been more clear.

Ramaco believes coal is too valuable to burn.
As does CCTI

I think there's much more to the story than met coal prices.

CCTI owns a suite of Patented technologies related to coal benefication and extraction methods.

Their partnership with University of Wyoming, along with a powerhouse board of directors, should propel this forward once NETL/DOE reviews take place.

Expected Q1 2020

Any idea what patents are involved in METC's ability to extract byproducts and manufacture etc? I believe UW secured a coal to carbon fiber patent utilizing CCTI's technology partnership.

Coal and coal ash are shown to have high concentrations of scandium and yttrium. CCTI stated our patented technology is capable of extracting such elements from coal. Our University of Wyoming partners were later quoted as saying our technologies are as described on the packet. 2020/21 will get extremely interesting around here.. IMO

Coal, exports and homegrown energy technologies may top the 117th Congress agenda. Barrasso is in line to become top Republican on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

Top committee Democrat is Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

It'll be nice having full patent protection in China, should their State's clean-coal collaboration prove viable. Especially if CCTI is involved :)

I understand where you’re coming from.
However, Dr Horner was quoted as saying “We need to have conclusive proof that the coal in very large volumes is able to survive the transportation and more importantly doesn’t spontaneously combust at some point either in its transport or in storage at the other end of its journey”.

IMO Zero reabsorption for 30 days in 100% humidity, should prove conclusive.

The U.S. Government is primarily interested in REE’s they can use for defense. Manufacturing comes a close second.

The majority of these elements are found in coal.
Cartman is right when he says this isn’t the only game in WY.
One of the others is partnered with the University Of Wyoming and Austrade.

Lanthanides; neodymium, scandium and yttrium are up to 100X more prevalent in coal ash than elsewhere.
