It means CA won't go quietly if Trump orders his goons to shut down legal MJ
There'll be a run before anything else, IMO.
CANN made a lot of money for a lot of people not long ago, and since it takes weeks or a couple of months for those certificates to be transferred and exercised, we have time here.
Also, Al Borch's predictions of terror and doom are basically presented as if all the warrants will be executed on the same day, and being they're worth X or Y cents, it'll naturally drive the price back down to that level. This won't be the case, as some trading houses don't even accept those types of certs, and not everyone is going to dump them on the market and run away.
Don't forget, closing above $5 for 10 days would change things for us as well.
In my non-professional opinion, I think the new green rush will mirror the 2014 rush in many ways, just as the build up the last few months has. The bubble hasn't even formed yet... we're still in the early stages. Last time, when the bubble popped and stocks started losing their values, that was when you started seeing convertible debt issues and the like. It wasn't in the beginning, and if these investors want to make some money, the last thing they'd want to do is kill the golden goose before it lays even a single egg.
It'll make some money before then
One more trading day, then FINALLY we'll be in the land of opportunity. I know a few of us have already made some good money on CANN and others, but after the weekend, we could start looking back on October as the "cute" run up period. :D
Lots of waves to come, lots of opportunity. This type of thing happens only once in someone's life if they're lucky. WE were all fortunate enough for two green rushes almost back to back, with this second one dwarfing the first.
It's entirely possible that the first rush AND this run up to end 2016 will be chump change compared to what's coming.
This is correct. The real magic doesn't start until January. Hold on kids, this is only the beginning of one wild ride.
My portfolio was pretty dang green with pre open gaps today.
Feel that energy? It's actually the force. It surrounds us and binds us, and it's guiding us all the way to the bank
Bringing me to a grand total of 461% green. I've been pretty happy with this one. :D
Zoom is a less sophisticated Al Borch. Pay no attention. He thinks everything is a "pump" or a "dump" because his collection of stock trading terms is limited to that. He doesn't really understand what the market is doing or what this sector is doing at any given time, so everything is a scam or some other scary word his handler lets him type when he's allowed computer time.
And it would be so boring otherwise. :D I love these volatile stocks... so much opportunity on the table, so much money. 2015 and most of 2016 were SO SLOW. Finally we've had some fireworks in the last few months, AND We haven't even seen the real magic yet.
I don't think it'll be all that terrible. Even if we do close down, none of the real magic in the sector is going to happen until January anyway. Whatever happens in the next couple days is low on my list of concerns.
January. This run up and drop off for the sector was nearly identical to last time. CANN was worth $2 at the end of December 2013, having come down from approximately $4. I don't even check my holdings but once a week right now. Nothing that happens until Jan 1 even matters in my view.
In the world of communicating, we call what you're doing "grasping at straws."
Perhaps if you had anything worth while to say, you'd be taken more seriously.
Decreased sector volume indicates, to me at least, that we're in the December holding pattern I've talked about recently. Have a whisky and relax. The rest of the month will be pretty quiet compared to the past couple. Just get ready for the fun to begin in January. :D
More selective moderation of my posts. LOL. Coward.
Nice little half day for us. I wasn't expecting that, but I'll definitely take it.
I'll cheers to the green with a local Imperial Ginger beer.
I've mentioned before and I'll mention again: Fret not, boys.
Holidays are upon us. People are traveling, people are off setting tax liability, people have other things to worry about. There's no way we'll see a huge influx of money in the sector until January. During October, I was GLUED to my phone checking my holdings constantly. These days, I see how things closed and that's it, if I even check things at all. This is nothing to worry about. Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to be sitting cool at $8 right now, but we only have to wait a bit is all. :D
There could be some Sessions related fear here, but all we've ever received from Washington was tepid support anyway. The Democrats certainly weren't all on board with Marijuana, and Hillary basically gave the same "approval" Trump did. Actually, if you think about it, the green rush after Colorado Legalized was far riskier than it is now. It was a BRAND NEW industry. Legal recreational Marijuana? It was completely unheard of at the time. It was far more likely then than it is now that the feds would shut the whole thing down. I don't think what we're seeing here is any kind of real fear or panic selling because of the AG pick. I think it's just the holiday season, the end of a fiscal year, and an identical run up like 2013 to 14 was.
Kick back, have a beer and relax. Nothing bad is happening. This is just the nature of the beast. CANN was only worth $2 in January of 2014, before all the magic happened.
CHEERS FELLERS!!!!!!! I'm having a Tweak beer by Avery Brewing. It's a coffee stout and it's absolutely delicious.
It's almost like Alan has a vested interest in convincing everyone to sell right now. Rather than state his opinion and leave, he really really really wants to get that point across. It's a little odd, when you think about it. I wonder why this is the case.
When someone doesn't have the same conclusion i have on a stock, i don't try so hard to convince them, because ultimately it doesn't matter to me what people do with their money. But not Alan, he really wants us all to sell right now for some strange reason. I wonder what that reason could be.
I'm sure he's just a super nice guy and there's no ulterior motive here at all. He's just trying to do us all a favor, free of charge. No other reasons what-so-ever
Alan: You're good at just saying a bunch of things and not backing any of it up. Answer Daytrader's questions and quit ducking them, coward.
I've mentioned the 2013-2014 timeline on CANN here a couple times. I rode the waves back then pretty dang well, if I do say so myself.
I think if we don't hit the higher highs this month, we're waiting until January at least. I'm fine with this because I've been with CANN since they first went public, and I've got the majority of my current holding at ~$1. But that first green rush, Colorado legalized and the day came and went just like any other. It was as if nothing really happened. CANN actually decreased in price from around $3.90 to about $2 through November and December, then in January it started trading for between $4 and $10, and we all know what spikes we saw after that.
So fret not boys. If the fun doesn't start right away, it will. I was expecting to see $10 by now, but it's fine that we haven't. The more I see CANN and the MJ sector at large just kinda hovering around these current price points, the less I care about the rest of this year. January... trust me. Have a scotch, or if you're waiting to pull out profits, have a whisky, and relax. :D
Not a bad little monday!
I agree and have posted very similar things on this very forum in recent weeks. ;)
My point is if someone is going to "endorse" a particular person about MJ policy, neither Hillary or Trump deserve it. The best we were going to get from either office was non-intervention.
The real victory is in the voters in the affirmative in 8 of 9 states this week, not in who took office.
To be fair, neither Hillary or Trump offered great support for legalizing MJ. Trump only said he'd leave it to the states, which is tepid at best. Meanwhile, Chris Christie is actively against MJ and he's going to get a cabinet position. The Trump government isn't exactly on board with this thing, they're just claiming, so far, that they won't interfere.
I think the stocks will run because with 33 states having MJ in some capacity now, there's no stopping this thing. A majority of adults in this country currently support legalization, which includes voters from both sides. Since the Republicans just gained some seats in the legislature, the hope is they won't bite the hand that feeds them. Then again, these are the same Republicans that tried to push Jeb Bush on us and failed, then tried to stop Trump from winning the nomination and failed, so who knows what might be going through these guys' heads.
Point being, it's not like some weird picture where Hillary = bad and Trump = Awesome for Marijuana. Only one candidate in this election cycle was actively FOR legalizing MJ and it wasn't either of the chuckle heads we chose between a couple days ago.
Shut up. In November 2013, CO voted to legalize. JANUARY 2014 is when the law when into effect, and THAT'S when the magic started to happen. It wasn't "several months later," it was barely 2. The party isn't over, the party just got even harder because all these shares went on sale again.
Fret not. Say we took a similar road to the one we did in 2013-2014. CO legalized in Nov '13, and CANN decreased in price a bit until January of '14. Then it started getting more active, but the real magic didn't start until weeks after that even. People might be playing games still, but eventually we'll see the CANN we love. :D It's only day 2 after the elections.
Investors are among the dumbest people on Earth. This morning proves it. Massive shift in MJ policy, CA legalizes, "HOLY SHIT! SELL SELL!!!!! EVERYBODY PANIC!"
This will sort itself out and we'll be green again in no time, but man, sometimes I wish I could talk to some of these guys and evaluate how little gray matter they have rattling around in those noggins.
Similar volume to yesterday.
Awwww yeah, we got CA!!!!!!!!!!! AZ would have also directly benefited us, but voters down there are dipshits. I think NV and MA also being on board seriously helps the legalizing cause.
Cheers to the rest of the month you CANN heads! Had some delicious beer this afternoon.. May chase that awesome down with some whisky later.
Right there with ya buddy. This is gonna be so much fun after tomorrow
I added today!
Daytrader: How much of that was actual shorts vs. just trading? I felt like lots of people would be taking profits n such because we havent seen 5 in a couple weeks and various political/uncertainty reasons.
I'm just on the Ameritrade mobile app, so I can't see any of these details.
FO' NINTY FIVE AGAIN!!!!
I'd never heard of Sykes until last night. Did a google search, saw he's a giant tool who does lots of poses so you can see his watch, moved on with life.
I don't care what happens today. CANN will move beyond any dipshit giving any stupid webinar and all of us who are capable of thinking for ourselves will be laughing all the way to the bank.
Over a million shares in one hour. GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!
100k shares in 2 minutes. Gonna be a good day boys.
CAN YOU DIG IT?!?!
I ever tell you guys about the time I made a bunch of money on CANN? Well, *SPOILER ALERT* it's, like a lot.
WE BROKE FO' FIDDY!
1 million shares already. Not bad a'tall.
Mornin boys! This exceeded my expectations in the best way possible
