This hater article is a joke. They don't even give any technical analysis - all they do is point that the price has gone down and act like it means that means it will continue to go down. Glad to see the price go up today despite such a trashy article. This is why we are the NASDAQ - so articles like this don't tank the stock 30% with out a valid reason.

They downgraded it to sell recently I believe. I would consider waiting till they go cash positive and stop loosing money per share before buying.
That being said - HealthSouth and BMW both seem to be interested in purchasing their technology. I think it's definitely a good pick long term; more a question of when than if.
See these links:
[Frank Pochiro, an assembly planner with the automaker, said BMW has been testing bionic exoskeletons from two different manufacturers at the local plant since October in what is the first use of the technology at any BMW plant.
He said BMW plans to order 10 to 20 more of the wearable robots over the next two to three months for a “soft rollout.”
Pochiro said one of the devices is made by a U.S. firm called Ekso Bionics and a nondisclosure agreement prevented him from identifying the maker of the other.]

in addition to possibe contracts lined up, I think Ekso's market cap doesn't reflect the amount of money being spent in the industry adequately. For example, many of the studies (recently Kessler) done for Ekso Bionics have been done on grants - where the company receives value through research, but not on paper. Plus there are third party groups that are buying Ekso's for charity like soldierstrong - which surely can't hurt the company's bottom line. SoldierStrong has commited to purchase 80 Ekso Gt's.

While I respect Keith, I think money morning seems a little seedy
I've seen a lot of 'get rich quick' articles and videos that lack real substance.
As such, I'm happy that these articles are having a reduced impact. The further we can get away from them the better - even if keith happens to be right about EKSO.

The positive side of classified patents is that the 20 year timer doesn't start until after the patent is declassified.
Ekso says they have Over 190 international patent cases (granted or pending) --- yet many of these patents don't show up. Some of them may be too new and not yet categorized, but I believe others are classified. As such, I believe some of EKSO's core technology is yet to be realized
I believe a disproportionate amount of their effort is focused on military tasks. A side point to this is that the most recent DARPA contract didn't even specify how much money it was for. I'm guessing this means it was a larger sum of money, not smaller.
The U.S. military has it's eyes on 100 different fields, all of which are coalescing to make exoskeletons practical in the year 2018. The technology readiness levels have been thought out to excruciating detail, and I think their estimate is likely e0xtremely accurate.
I've been reading more and more about military physics. Currently I'm reading a book called Physics For Future Presidents, by Richard A. Muller - who is a member of JASON (a scientific advisory board to the US government)
The more I learn, the more I think TALOS is an inevitability. Exoskeletons reaching a new peak may be in 2018, but people's foresight might allow for 2017 to really take things off.

I believe we did get jibbed on the FDA approval. NASDAQ uplisting was at slightly unfavorable terms, and todays announcment doesn't equate to any increase in revenue.
In fact it's the opposite, EKSO is spending money with out making it to accomplish this study - so I'm not surprised the stock hasn't gone up.
FDA approval however, was massive and unprecedented.
I think Parker Hannafin's device being approved a couple weeks prior to EKSO's stroke approval stole EKSO's thunder so to speak. Even then, the company was so big it went largely unnoticed - not doing anything to make people watch EKSO any more closely it would seem.
As long as the hemiplegia approval leads to more sales, we will still see a big boost in due time. I expect this.

Opinions:
I believe it will be very difficult for other competitors to receive the same clearance as EKSO, based on their smart assist software.
It has to do with failsafe's in responding to a motion that might cause the exoskeleton to fall. I think that ideally the exoskeleton should not only detect motions that would cause this, but prevent the user from continuing to executing those motions.
It seems Ekso lives up to these ideal conditions due to their smart software and force sensors.
Read this from an EKSO patent:
"In existing BWST implementations, the assistance is maintained constant throughout the gait. This can be done because if the user ever requires more assistance than the device can provide, either due to stubbing the toe or not enough user strength, the device shuts off and locks the user in the current position so they hang safely from the body weight support. This is not an acceptable failure scenario in a mobile platform due to the obvious concerns of locking while walking. Until now, no BWST control strategies have provided alternative failure responses that would be acceptable for use on a mobile platform. In a mobile application, not all device postures present the same risks or benefits to the user. As a result, the inventive method varies the assistance profile based on the state of the user. One form of the preferred embodiment varies the assistance profile based on the safety risks the user is exposed to because falling is the biggest risk. The embodiment varies the assistance profile to allow the user less room to deviate when in a potentially unsafe state. One method to achieve this is with a balance classification score to rate the safety of a user\'s posture to vary the assistance level."
http://www.freshpatents.com/-dt20160204ptan20160030201.php
It's also my opinion that it will be even more difficult for competitors to achieve variable assist, with Ekso's patents already in place. Specific to this, I don't see much near term competition in the field of stroke rehabilitation.
It also would appear to me that the categories that make the technologies 'equivalent' are specific enough so that competitors will not easily be able to piggy back off ekso's clerances.

Ekso is involved with TALOS:
RICHMOND, Calif., Jan. 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ekso Bionics Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB:EKSO), a robotic exoskeleton company, announced that their leading work on the first phase of the TALOS project resulted in a grant to expand their involvement into the second phase of the project. United States Special Operation Command (SOCOM) announced last year that it was working to create a wearable uniform, which provides superhuman capabilities with superior mobility and protection, for their Special Operations Forces. This project involves four phases, with the second phase to be delivered in the latter part of 2015. With the second phase of the project, this contract marks over $35 million in total third party funded development work done by the Ekso Bionics engineering team.

Also, look at some information in a press release from RESquared Robotics involving Ekso Bionics in the context of wider military application
"The goal of the Phase II effort is to develop a simulation tool capable of producing validated biomechanical data on muscle forces, stresses, joint loads, and metabolic load that a human subject would have produced during load carriage with and without the use of a robotic exoskeleton. This data will help the Army analyze the benefits of exoskeletons and develop injury predictions.
“By directly modeling the interaction between a human user and the exoskeleton, our simulator will help to identify potential injury mechanisms and issues before any large-scale deployment of the device – ultimately reducing injuries while saving the Army time and money,” stated Jorgen Pedersen, president and CEO for RE2.
RE2 is partnering with biomechanical exoskeleton experts at Ekso Bionics™ (OTCBB: EKSO), neuromusculoskeletal simulation leader, Dr. Scott Delp and Dr. Jennifer Hicks, faculty at Stanford University, and the Human Engineering Research Laboratories at the University of Pittsburgh to design and test the Biomechanical Exoskeleton Simulator System."

So the thing about price targets is that I don't think they are modified by stock splits/ reverse splits.
They intuitively should be, but I'm not certain that they are.
I hope this clears up the confusion - maybe someone knows where to research this to know the answer for certain...
the only thing I could find is a paper that may not be relevant to the question, but it is interesting regardless:
"We analyze a mechanism – avoidance of low-priced stocks – through which the prudent-person rule affects institutional investment and show how reverse stock splits change institutional investment through this mechanism. We show that both the number of institutional investors and the percentage of shares that are held by institutional investors increase significantly after reverse splits with a pre-split price lower than $5 and a target price higher than $5. We also provide evidence in support of Merton’s (1987) theory of incomplete markets by establishing a link between changes in institutional investment and changes in share price."

It's my belief that expensive military technology is the foundation for making cost efficient rehabilitation/home devices.
These kind of patents make a home device one step closer, pardon the pun.
When EKSO does release their home version, my guess is it will be somewhere between 10-20 thousand dollars. (roughly a magnitude order of reduction)

Nicely done! I was up around 10% before the $4 offering from trading. Also, a side point on the most recent patent: it was invented while working for SOCOM - who thus has partial rights to the patent.
This invention was made with government support under Contract H92222-14-9-0001 awarded by the United States Special Operations Command. The government has certain rights in the invention.
One more sign SOCOM is not only still working, but accelerating

Often, there is no correlation between the success of a company's operations and the success of its stock over a few months or even a few years. In the long term, there is a 100 percent correlation between the success of the company and the success of its stock. This disparity is the key to making money; it pays to be patient, and to own successful companies.
