North Sea Buzzard Oil-field Flows Rise Through Forties PipelineLast update: 3/14/2013 11:42:25 AMBy Cassie Werber LONDON--The key North Sea Buzzard oil field, which saw a dip in production earlier in March due to scheduled maintenance, is ramping back up and last week contributed the highest volumes into the delivery system for a month, data from BP PLC (BP) show. Buzzard is the largest oil field in the North Sea. In Autumn 2012, scheduled maintenance ran over, resulting in seven weeks when no oil at all flowed from the field. The closure helped push the U.K. economy into contraction during the final quarter 2012. Oil from Buzzard flows to shore via the Forties Pipeline System. Data released Thursday show that 39% of the oil entering the pipeline came from Buzzard in the week ending March 10. During recent maintenance the volume of Buzzard oil entering the pipeline fell to 19% in the week ending March 3. The average percentage was 45% in the second quarter of 2012, the last quarter before that year's major outage. The pipeline, operated by BP, has the capacity to carry over one million barrels of oil per day. Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields flow into the system, but Buzzard is by far the largest contributor. Hahaha!!!!! :) Yeeeehawwwwwwww!!!!!
Kramer was pumping it. It's probably more than that though.
I love your way of thinking!!!!! :)
LOL!!! You are so bad!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing, ptd. I'm sorry it didn't work out, but I like how you cut your losses quickly and moved on.
Nice buy, LB!!!
GM ATM!!!
Thank you so very much.
Thanks a bunch! You are full of good information!!! :)
Hahaha! Beautiful! Thanks so much! :)
:) I think we are night owls!
Thanks so much, bull! I really appreciate your insight! I use the indicators I am most comfortable with, but I like to try to get a handle on new ones. The only problem is that I'm not sure of myself at first and don't want to make stupid mistakes and lose money.
I think I will keep going with my original plan and watch the CMF so that I can get a feel for it and eventually use it as another indicator to trade with.
Thanks again!
For this chart, I added the CMF indicator. Am I reading this right? I'm seeing that the CMF is indicating a bearish tendency, but not a strong trend because it's not lower than -.25? In addition, the RSI is bearish, as is the MACD? I'm totally confused if this is right because I have some March 16th $27.50 calls that I got for $.14 and they are green (for now).
Do you ever wish that you could know what you know now, have the job and security you have now, but be 21? I sure do!
That's awesome, PTL!!! You're making me hungry!
Since this isn't just about stocks, but rather about all things money, I thought I'd share. This past December, over Christmas break, my girlfriends and I went to Lake Tahoe for a long weekend. We had SO MUCH FUN!!! We decided to get a time share and make it an annual girls' weekend. So, we went onto E-Bay, bought a time share for $1 (yes $1) and now have deed in hand for the week after Christmas every single year for a $750 maintenance fee per year! Yeeeeehawwwwwwww!!!
Hi PLT! When I first started trading options using ChoiceTrades, I got all messed up. I kept getting my knuckles whacked until they finally froze my account. Oops!!! It sounds like you are on the right track and have a great plan! You'll have to let us know which stock you decide to buy! I am so excited for you! :)
Oop! Note to self - turn off log scale!!! Thanks, LB!
Thanks for the links, LB! Good stuff! I have a question if anyone can help me, please. Below, where it says about point-slope form (I highlighted it in yellow), does that mean the same thing as point-slope form of a line like in math? If so, can the equation then be used to predict future pps? I'm sorry, but I will always, always be a math nerd. I just can't help myself.
Thanks, LB. Yes, the Feds are announcing at 4:30p.m. tomorrow if the banks are approved to give proposed dividend amounts and/or buyback numbers. Supposedly, since last Thursday, banks could give their information to the big boys to be reviewed and then revise, if necessary, to be approved before Thursday's announcement. After BAC didn't hold its pps well last Friday, I thought its ship had sunk. However, today it held up better than C and JPM, so I'm wondering if a dividend increase is starting to possibly be the consensus?
