I'm always torn when that happens. I want you to see it, BUT MAYBE I DON'T!
I'm a chicken.
Well, it was fun while it lasted. You see, I do have those bathroom humor impulses at times, but I get chicken. iHub gives me the chance to let her rip, then chicken out and run.
Did you see it?
Okay! Time to retract? LOL!
I KNEW you were a charlatan.
I have no idea. Has anyone done a board search? Let me do one and see what comes up. Though, I'm kind of in a hurry today.
I'll do it later and we'll think of something to do to get back at that prankster, making Derf rent it. We'll recommend something horrible.
There was something I wanted to tell you and it's slipped my mind :(
When I think of it, you'll be the first to know.
Catch you later or Monday, I hope.
Have a great one, Lobo.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Glad we had nothing to do with that.
See, there had to be a logical explanation.
Has Derf seen it yet? I'm curious. Haven't been on the boards, trying to do life, catch up. MY HOUSE IS A DISASTER!
TX eamonnshute
I'm not really a prankster and am not a Conan fan but the rest sounds correct.
the Prankster
(43% dark, 39% spontaneous, 33% vulgar)
your humor style:
CLEAN / COMPLEX / LIGHT
Your humor has an intellectual, even conceptual slant to it. You're not pretentious, but neither are you into what some would call 'low humor'. You'd laugh at a good dirty joke, but you definitely prefer something clever to something moist.
You probably like well-thought-out pranks and/or spoofs and it's highly likely you've tried one of these things yourself. In a lot of ways, yours is the most entertaining type of humor.

I beg to differ... LOL!!!!!
;)
Phew, it wasn't me! TX for warning.
LOL!
Seen this one? I should make a list of all the movies I've seen that defy genre, yet belong to the "defies genre" genre - LOL!!!
I'm going to do that.

I'll put "The Dark Backward" in the queue. I can't believe I've never even heard of it. Sounds hilarious. It goes in to arrive soon!
Can you believe I have 250 movies in my queue?
I have to post my queue one of these days so you can tell me what to ditch. I bet you and Lobo have seen half of the stuff.
Have a good one :)
And tx!
You are too cool, Lobo. Thanks for being such a gentleman and big person. Now, before I make you and everyone else sick by gushing further, it was simply a matter of genre fatigue with Gummo and The Machinist. I completely understand why you are attracted to Neo-Noir and freak flix. It is precisely why I was and still am, often, but not at this point in time.
I would put money down that we'd agree 85% of the time.
So, let's continue to be ourselves. I will not be offended by anything you say that is contrary to the way I feel about anything. I'm more comfortable about it now. I will not use the search function! I will not use the search function! I will not use the search function! LOL!
Great seeing you in real-time for a change.
Looked at the links and better understand where you stand with Gummo, too.
See you soon!!! Have a great day.
WELCOME
Hey Lobo, I did a search for Gummo, just to see if I inadvertently offended anyone and low and behold! Both The Machinist and Gummo - lol!!!
There was a time when I would have loved Gummo. Had I seen it when it first came out I really would have. I'm simply supersaturated with dark movies that make no point. I have seen SO many of them. More than most any other kind. It's starting to feel like a freak show to me.
I think what's going on in people's lives alter their tolerance level for certain things. I really, really did see why it was an important, creative, interesting and even fascinating film, especially for when it was made.
I know that what I think isn't that important to you but I want you to know these thoughtless blurts of mine aren't meant to offend anyone. I'm going to start using the search function. I just used the search this board thingy for the first time yesterday.
I kind of feel bad now. Sorry. Sincerely didn't know you love it so much.
Hoople
I'm sure I'll get to it. I have a bunch of strange movies coming up. Wanted to shake things up a bit so I did tons of DD. The movies I've got in my queue will be unexpected and I think I'm in the mood for discovery. Ray seems like a pretty safe script, if you know what I mean.
I might get it again. Ever know you just weren't in the mood for something? Held onto it for a long time and gave up on waiting for the mood to strike. Good to know you think it was worth watching, though.
I sent Ray back without even watching it. Couldn't bring myself to care and wast my time.
From the Netflix site.....
Q: Is there a limit on the number of movies I can have in my rental queue?
A: You can add up to 500 movies and never be left without a movie to watch at home!
Are you signed up for 1,2 or 3 a week? Maybe that has something to do with it.
Oh hi! I don't know. Maybe mine's broken? Want me to send the list? I kid you not.
BTW, I didn't. Not sure where it is in my queue. Seriously, I have well over 200 movies in it. Let me see exactly how many.... OMG! 243. At this rate that takes me well into 2007. Million Dollar Baby is #73 - lol.
I think you're really going to like this one.
Hi lobo,
I was in a wild "throw anything that looks interesting into the queue" frenzy last week. Came across this one but haven't gotten it yet. It might be #200 - LOL!!
My husband asked me to look up anything else by Solondz because one of his favorite movies was Dollhouse. We did see Happiness and loved it - as a movie, of course. Hard not to like anything with Philip Seymour Hoffman in it. Dylan Baker played his role really well. Not an easy one, I'd imagine. Thank you verry much for the recommendation. I'll move the other Solondz up in the queue so we can compare notes and will add his 2004 release.
Saw Gummo the other night. Hmmm. This is one of those movies about which I can say, I see a quality to it that I might have enjoyed some other time, maybe. The morbid curiosity factor started creeping me out. Chloë Sevigny, from Boys Don't Cry, was terrific, as usual. I like her alot. All of the characters were fascinating in an icky way. It was more a freak show attraction, like the movie Freaks, than a movie... you know? It made me uncomfortably aware that being human implies far less regarding commonality than we (or I) assume in the rather limited circles we tend to travel.
Am taking a break from the movie Mondovino at the moment. I started getting crazed, wondering "When is this thing going to end already". I look, 2hrs 16 min. Had to break away. It's too early to sit in one place that long.
Let me check out some other posts while I'm here.
See you around, soon!
Flirting: Another one I just stumbled upon that was amazing.

Hi Susie,
I guess I can keep it in the 63rd slot in my queue :)
I don't expect to like it so ... I could be pleasantly surprised.
Pretty good. It's muggy and hot - yuck - that's how I am.
And how are you?
See you................
How do you like that. I just put it in my queue. I'll take it out. It's #63 anyway and it didn't even look all that great, to be perfectly honest. TX!
After Hours!!! A MUST SEE GROUNDBREAKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a cool, HILARIOUS classic. If it hasn't already been discussed here yet....
The search function here is ridiculous.

I'm done for tonight, LOL!
Welcome to the Dollhouse. Anybody see it? That was a great one (just surfing):

Remember loving this, A Midnight Clear (again, surfing and jarring memory for older movies someone may have missed):

While tooling around I came across this movie that I really, really loved. It's been awhile since I've seen it, never meet anyone else who has. So, if you don't mind foreign, this is a very cool flick:

After seeing that, here's another unique experience for anyone serious about movies:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083946/
Children of Heaven: Delicate, subtle, suspenseful story from Iran. If you liked Rabbit Proof Fence and Central Station (which I also adored) there's a good chance you'll like this one. I more than liked it. 4.5 out of 5. But I realize it's not for everyone. If you were forced to sit through The Bicycle Thief in college vs. marvel at its brilliance, this is not for you. In fact, it reminded me in many ways of The Bicycle Thief.
The director handled tenderness with surprising sophistication, never cloying, never cheap. It's not easy to make a tender film that doesn't give you a toothache but Majid Majidi did it brilliantly.

Here, in case you don't read all the new posts. This is a must see, as far as I'm concerned, if you somehow missed it:

Here's where I fell in love with Goldblum's style. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend. Ridiculously, terrificly ridiculous. Forget the stupid rating it got on IMDB. I was like... WHO IS that guy?!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086856/
The Life Aquatic - LOVED IT!
ME TOO ME TOO
Total non-keanu fan. Whew! He is a block of wood. He played some Little Buddha role that was like a comedy. Glad I didn't have to initiate that one. Am getting a complex here. In school I made a short movie with clips of him in segments that was hilarious. I truly believe he's had a lobotomy.
Know who else I'm TOTALLY sick of (will sneak one more in): John Turturro. He was good in a few early roles - period. Ducking out now............
Hi Lobo!
There are feelgood movies I've loved that you'd puke over! Not sure why some happy endings work for me and others don't. Some day I'll post ones I've liked that I shouldn't have - LOL!
See you around and TX!
