The only difficult thing I see with becoming profitable is, they are in the hole something like 10-11 Million last I checked (correct me if I am wrong). Also, on the semi annual financials on PAGE 7, there is a section that states:
"Management expects operations to generate negative cash flow at least through July 2010 and the Company does not have exisiting capital resources or credit lines available that are sufficient to fund operations and capital requirements are presently planned over the next tweleve months"
So, it sounds like they could run out of money (operating capital). Unless they get a crap ton of paying customers....or some LOI, etc.
Many questions....
Don't ask me...
But I think at first they had a different vision for how the voice keywords were going to work.
More of a iphone/droid type of thing that leveraged GPS, etc. For instance, if you're in the middle of no where and needed a tow truck - just text towtruck to 46800 and the nearest one would call back.
Thats what i *think* they started of trying to do...
Now, I'm wondering if they have shifted gears on that...
That is old. the app doesn't help until LOTS of businesses are on board and the keyword is in place in advertisements, etc.
Also, I think they had a different vision with the phone app before (i.e. geo location stuff for keywords).
Just an assumption, but I think that vision and direction for the phone application might have changed.
Dude, post some pics of the company office if you can. It would be interesting to see if they have a nice logo or office setup....
That would show me they are serious. If they look and feel like a corporation and their office looks like a real office.
Steve-
I'll post it here - how has the response been? Have you got legitimate calls from companies? What size? Etc?
Thanks in advance
This would be ideal (and almost a dream) if you started seeing big Fortune 500 company logos all over GO800 website under a clients section.
Like so:
http://www.1e.com/customers/index.aspx
or like
http://www.punchkickinteractive.com/
But in all honesty, I work in the technical space (I'm an engineer, that designs large scale IT infrastructure) - large companies like to have very tailored solutions and strict control over how things work. I wonder if GO800 has the bandwidth/man power to handle the possible request for specific service request, service level agreements, custom prompts when keywords are used, etc.
If it hit .02, I am wondering if we might see a massive sell off....
But I hope not, I'm just holding where I'm at - and hoping I get lucky.
Awesome! Thank you!
Or how about at least an automated message, service, etc...
Enter your number to receive a text back to see if you're a winner of the ipad.
Yeah, some dude named steve answered. I didn't have time to talk....so I just hung up. I'm sure he is not able to handle the calls by himself, if it is just him. Just a hunch.
I don't want to waste my time either way.
I just hung up...and did not listen.
If that is true - Why are they pumping other stocks? That does not make business sense at all. Not one bit. Kind of backwards, if you ask me. If they get ANYONE really texting BULL, they need to get them interested in GOIG/GO800 only.
I really seriously, hope they are not PUMPING up and PITCHING STOCKS through this advertisement. Once again, to me another thing that just sounds a tad shady[IMHO]...
Can anyone else confirm this?
A decent looking Advertisement...good job GOIG...!
Hopefully Ike proves me wrong...big time.
From WikiPedia so take it for what its worth:
The original Fortune 500 was restricted to companies whose revenues were derived from manufacturing, mining, or energy exploration. At the same time, Fortune published companion "Fortune 50" lists of the 50 largest commercial banks (ranked by assets), utilities (ranked by assets), life insurance companies (ranked by assets), retailers (ranked by gross revenues) and transportation companies (ranked by revenues). These have been consolidated into one single list, so the Fortune 500 as it exists today includes companies that in previous years would have been on one of the "Fortune 50" lists.
Define "taken"
Does, taken equal paying? Or does "taken" equal registered in the system and using the keyword to demo the product?
Everyone here should set their ask at least at $1.
Done.
LOL ;)
I do agree with that.
I was just googling around a bit and kinda found this article had some good points:
http://gigaom.com/2007/03/16/10-things-to-know-about-short-codes/
I mean, looking at the spending of GOIG - I wonder if they can afford to charge less at this rate?
What it boils down to, is obviously some companies will choose to do this stuff on their own, rather than pay GO800.
And get very similar results.
1. If Comcast does what GO800 is doing, but on their own - creating their OWN shortcode CALLME to "XXXXX" They don't need a "universal shortcode" - like I said, its concerning that companies are doing this TYPE of thing on their own. Also, they probably want control over how this stuff works. Blah its not universal - because only their clients need to know it.
2. GO800 - you are not connected immediately to anyone. I'm always routed to a call center, etc. Rarely does a shortcode get me around any call center queue and directly to an operator or person I'd like to speak to. Maybe that feature comes later (like lucyphone.com)
3....but obviously its easy to set something up very similar (perhaps cheaper than go800 as well).
If you can't see my point - there is no helping you. We can agree to disagree. But let me try once more. Obviously, this is very simple stuff to setup if companies are doing similar txt to shortcode call back things (although not "universal"), yet it shows a demand.
Enterprise class companies like to control how things work. This stuff isn't rocket science.
However, GO800 might have a niche market with small to mid size business that can't afford the infrastucture.
That isn't like the Comcast example and the point that older post was, this type of thing does exist.
Now, how about you keep on topic of the Comcast example and answer my questions?
Hey-
I think those financials were for the first 6 months.
http://www.otcmarkets.com/stock/GOIG/financials
I'm sure you've seen those...but at the top it says for the first six months...
So, when they both end up talking to someone...
How is that different? The path there is different...but the road ends at the caller/"texter" talking to someone.
Hope that helps you understand.
You can't tell me that these both dont have the same outcome? Can you?
How AREN'T the *slightly* the same? Don't they both involve keywords rather than phone numbers? Aren't customers *ultimately connected to the company* by initiating the contact via a KEYWORD and shortcode?
Seriously. LMAO.
What is malicious? I'm confused about that part...
Do they have proof of malicious activity?
I think that could be a good starting point...especially if GO800 can place their logo as their client on the website and the G0800 logo is placed in any advertisement.
"would be" if they ended up signing up and paying...right now, my assumption is these numbers were picked by GOIG/GO800 and not the company.
I never said duplicated. I said "BASICALLY". Maybe SIMILAR would have been a better word?
There is obviously a slight different, but the concepts are similar.
So, take my words out of context if you will.
Text and you get a call back from someone from the company is very similar to Text and you get sent to a phone call.
They both solve the problem with texting a KEYWORD to a Shortcode and they both connect you to the company, but in slightly different fashions.
So, like someone else said - and I've said in the past - this does show a NEED for SHORTCODES. Although, it is concerning, that companies are doing this on their own (although its not exactly like GO800) - it is very similar. But, to reiterate it shows a demand to text a shortcode and get connected in some fashion to a company without using a phone number.
So hopefully GO800 makes it easier by already having the infrastructure in place for small to medium sized companies! Hopefully GO800 can get a footprint in place before its too late?
"Am I wrong here" was asked ;)
But also, “CALLME” request to have a Comcast customer care representative call them back.
I said Basically!!!!!! Not exactly. Right?
But since you brought that up - If you text APPL to 46800 - what happens? Are you redirected to a LIVE person directly or do you get a connection/redirect by the GO800 operator AND then the service rings and calls the company, and you are put in a queue? Is that a live person
GOIG doesn't route you around a call center queue to a live person either. However, that depends on WHICH company you are using. APPL vs. a PIZZA joint that might patch you directly to the pizza joint.
No no...I get the service.
But - the thing is...this is doing BASICALLY what GOIG does (am i wrong here)
"keyword" to shortcode and you get a call back (although NOT universal)
I'm just curious if that is enough to push a patent through. Does my question make sense?
Mike
COMCAST USING SHORTCODES SMS CALL BACK
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Comcast-Launches-COMCAST4U-bw-2715079678.html?x=0&.v=1
INTERESTING!
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Comcast is making it easier for customers to stay connected and manage their services, literally putting the answers and tools at their fingertips with the launch of COMCAST4U mobile SMS text service. An industry first, COMCAST4U (short code 266278) gives customers instant access to many of the most frequently requested account functions and more, using a simple text message from any mobile handset. COMCAST4U also allows customers to sign up to receive periodic alert messages about important service-related information. COMCAST4U even allows users to text a “CALLME” request to have a Comcast customer care representative call them back
So, are companies just doing this stuff on their own via their IT staff and voice providers?
So, is this patent infringement (kind of)?
Maybe big businesses are doing this on their own and GOIG needs to target a different audience/customer scope.
No, it doesn't mean they are officially signed up and paying client. My assumption (someone correct me if I am wrong) is that ambassadors or someone is doing some simple data entry to add keywords and numbers to the GO800 database - just to show off the functionality.
Personally, I don't think many companies at all even know they have a keyword that works on the GO800 system.
If I were GO800 - I would send flyers to all marketing managers letting them know they have keywords setup for free for x amount of time and maybe try to have a sales person follow up....
MrDD-
Agreed!
To those who say, the CFO hiring is old news - sorry I brought it back up. But its one of those things that should be revisited and I think we should all be concerned with that CFO hire.
Like you MR.DD, I don't get how people are not outraged with hiring that CFO amongst other things i.e. IKE six figure salary - it is he really worth six figures, if the stock price is at .0045?
Agreed. 100% - I've actually written Ike and suggested a different payment structure for the keywords.
It doesn't matter if it works - unless the companies KNOW about the service and eventually sign a contract.
Too me it does not matter if it works - unless these companies are advertising their keyword(s) and in the end hopefully become a paying client.
Where is the bank with 50 keywords?
Actually no - not trying to cast doubt. But I am trying gain clarity and open eyes to what people might not see. What's wrong with that?
I am a shareholder - I have lost money, like a lot of you as well. Should anyone be happy that the stock is performing poorly? Should anyone buy a stock and not do research?
I've e-mailed Brendan, Ike, etc. several times with ideas, so I support the company in its potential. But at the same time, I am not going to put on a blind fold and just jump off a bridge and burn my money. I simply like to research and dig (with any investment) - and help others with information (GOIG CFO arrested, etc). Everyone should research the hell out of every piece of news that GOIG puts out, every name that is involved in the company and learn where the dollars are going.
To be blunt - All the research I've done has told me to slam on the breaks...hopefully I am dead wrong. It's like people here aren't willing to discuss anything that might be negative about GOIG. I've posted several positive ideas and I've also posted a ton of post that pose questions about the company.
Define all the time?
And how do you "See right through me"? Explain/do tell...
LMAO - wait really?
What are you using it for? How do you even know what keywords are active and working? Do you just guess?
I find that hard to believe you use it all the time (outside of the weekly updates).
What did I say that is incorrect or slander?
GOIG will have tons of money left over to pass out to the shareholders ;)
I mean crap, maybe he is really good about hiding stuff on the financials so the SEC/shareholders think the company is doing awesome.
Just sayin ;) I find it funny....that's all. GOIG hires a shady sounding person for CFO.
