I just hope that when the downloads are available, and aren't delayed too long, that the current license agreements are still in place, otherwise we could see a repeat of 'the launch' with agreements expired.
Sounds all good to me, Go. Thanks for the posts.
Existing blln shareholders would get Qtrax shares in a ratio of 1 for x amount they hold in blln. blln shares should show a good increase, but it is the Qtrax shares that would be worth a lot, in my opinion only.
I agree, it's a long shot, but you know, if the court goes their way...
They're also identifying Audible Magic as the means by which the providers can stop the illegal downloads, so they're probably going to say, hey, there's a way you can stop it easily, but you're not doing it, and get the court to order the provider to use it. There'd be an appeal for sure, so it would drag on and on, meanwhile, the revenue keeps going down.
Losing 30% revenue as the article says is huge, and if that curve continues, the industry could well be destroyed in just a few years.
But whatever way it goes, I see it as a huge win for Qtrax anyway - if the court doesn't go with the labels, then more reason for labels to go with Qtrax asap; if the court does go with the labels, then Qtrax is in the box seat as the legal alternative.
And isn't Audible Magic a partner with Qtrax, I seem to recall.
Labels going to court today to get a precedent set. If they win this, it could be the end for illegal downloads...

Sorry dogcat, i'm relatively new to ihub land - what's a bagger?
No problem.
Overseas investors as far as I know have to trade in pink sheets (or any other board)in local US time. Yesterday's trades would have been global buyers/sellers.
Brilliant used to be called Advanced Technology Industries (AVDI) (or close to that). LTDnetwork reverse merged with AVDI. AK and others were management of LTDnetwork and became the management of AVDI after the reverse merger.
AVDI was listed on NASDAQ I believe, and had offices in Germany. I guess if AVDI was at $3, it was earlier than the reverse merger. Brilliant still has, I understand, the ownership of the 'Star Can' which was a proprietory product of AVDI.
Star Can will be every bit as big as we hope Qtrax to be, and a good reason, among others, imo, why if there is a spin-off of Qtrax, the Brilliant shares will also be very valuable at the time, but especially after they kick off Star Can. They're all of course up to their eyes in Qtrax at the moment, so Star Can is some way down the track, but it's sitting there nice and quiet in the background, I understand.
Just blogs, imo. Seem a bit behind the pace. How is Spiralfrog travelling re profitability?
GoQ is in his opinion only, imo.
morechoc, I don't know whether any more out there would be game to get on this board! Keep Faith.
GoQ, you are a brave soul. Yes, we will wait. I think there must be more people here in similar situations than we know!
Thanks to morechoc, qurious, GoQ and others for the great posts.
We need to wait...and be patient; and keep faith.
I agree with GoQ. I think we have to hang in there.
That's a very cynical commentary by Kafka imo, but probably reflects exactly the situation as of right now.
I am not sure they know exactly what is going to happen next, but I think they are going to have to do something very soon. Like GoQ said, they're appearing to be in a vise. Upfront cash was the same pre-requisite for the previous deals, so that's looks like a likely scenario this time, but I think (imo only) that there's other things going on like revenue flows which may not be able to be met - like AK said. I think it could be game over for the interim here.
In a spin-off, I understand blln holders as at the spin-off date would get a ratio holding in the qtrax spin off.
The reports of imminent major announcements either last Monday or by latest Wednesday this week seems to indicate the uncertain and volatility in the situation, imo.
It seems that they might now be looking at a spin-off, or that some other parties are looking at having an equity in qtrax. My opinion only.
In my understanding that post was way before launch, and refers to signings of deals over a long period of time, extending back a few years. All the announcements are on the Brilliant website from those times. That's what the fuss was about a month ago, I understand - that those agreements had expired or negotiations for renewal were not yet finalised.
That's what we're waiting on now. There is a media conference apparently later today where AK will be giving, I think, the first public comments on progress since the launch.
It is just on a month since launch today, and one would expect that if progress has been made on deals that were close to finalisation, that there has been enough time now to have some result.
The interview today is critical imo.
Hope you're right, but yes, last minute attorney, client hitches seem to be the norm rather than things going smoothly to plan. I agree, I think that is what is going on constantly behind the scenes here, so that the situation is changing almost by the hour. AK was quoted as saying that he will not be making the mistake of early announcements again, so I expect to hear nothing at all until the deal is absolutely done.
It makes me a little uneasy when I see a company churning out loads of PR, makes me think they are devoting more energy to the PR than to the coalface.
I get the feeling that one of the announcements is going to be that indie label songs are available for download.
Let's not get too carried away today with the possibility of announcements. As we know this company is not prone to very frequent PR or announcements, and in a way that, imo, is a good sign. I actually don't think at this stage that the timing of announcements is much in their control, despite what some people appear to be hearing. We will see, but I don't think much is going to change if we don't hear anything today or tomorrow.

Hopefully it's still current!
Great news, GoQ. Can you tell if they are indie labels or any of the majors?
Ok, found it. TVT Records, an indie label. Good start.

Is that all you have to say, r2?!
He's entitled to say what he wants to say, but do we have to hear it 500 times? I come to this board to get all views, but I'm not taking out a sub to hear the same stuff from the same person with the same apparent baggage day after day.
No, r2, I don't want to talk to you, I have a feeling I wouldn't get a word in edgeways. You do enough talking for everyone as I can see it on this board. I just want you to use up all your posts for the day guy so other people can get a go. Have a nice day.
You know r2, maybe if you say enough, blln execs might see it, and they'd like to have a talk with you, eh.
"don't have the shareholders best interests"? Care to elaborate? I'd be careful on this one if I were you.
Hey guy, how many posts you got left today as a freebie.
Thanks, guy. How about you notify the site admin people about your posts. Others have.
Just called the company as when qtrax being activated.
Switch gal said she had no information, just answering phones, but could get someone to call back.
I can't do, how about someone call the PR guy at the company and ask: 212 532 2736
Nice post, GoQ. I can just see R2D2 shorting out, just backing up and bangin into that wall again and again!
Just on the economics, I just received a 10 CD pack of music that I ordered recently from England, shipped from LA, for the grand total of around $20US including the freight. What sort of return is that for anyone - labels, artists, distributors. If that's the future of CD music, something is gonna have to change, big time, and real quick.
CDs look like they're going the way of the dinosaurs imo.
Hey, you know what, RBR2. I've just had to read through about thirty or something posts here caused by your wind-ups, and I see in your profile how many you have posted in recent weeks, almost entirely on the blln board. I see you are on a freebie membership as well. I have been on a free premium trial for the last couple of weeks, but bud, I have to say that I've told the admin people here that I won't be taking up a subscription membership because of the time that I am having to waste reading through your wind-up posts. You are always saying the same stuff which is wasting peoples time. I've suggested to admin that they deal with you, otherwise I can see a lot of people not taking up a subscription. People are actually on this board to consider well-balanced posts, not spam which you appear to be posting and clogging the board.
If people cannot get the information they are looking for because of your spamming, iHub's gonna lose money in subs. Maybe you should think about that before you get banned permanently, no matter what your pseudo, from this forum. Hey, you've only got a freebie membership, no loss to the company. Have a good day.
If anyone else feel the same way, please tell admin - IH Admin [Matt]
Whoa!!! How good is this! This will really get attention imo.
Even if nothing else happened, imagine the market for this.
(Is this new on the FAQ section?)
http://www.qtrax.com/support_artists_and_labels.html
"I am a musician and I want to post my music on Qtrax
Qtrax was created to allow musicians to monetize their music over P2P. At the moment, we are working on a solution for artists to post their work for download. If you want to be contacted when our program for posting your music is available, please e-mail: artists@qtrax.com."
I would have thought that is 'one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind'.
fair go. will take it on. Thanx
Really needs to hit the news soon, GoQ. What's the go?
http://www.qtrax.blogspot.com/
All posts here appearing at this site. Who runs this?
I hear you, keep the faith!
(You *really* mean days?)
Cool, guy.
Yeah, I gathered. Where you from, guy? Email private ok.
and as post yesterday said, as long as r2d2 (or whatever the name is) keeps posting negative, that's gotta be good too. I love it when that happens. Bad news with no depth all good to me,ok?
AK said 'within months' - didn't he? - other reports are 'soon'...we don't know yet, and they probably don't know yet. Post yesterday talked about sorting out the ad revenue distribution software. Imagine the demand for accuracy there. That's the real issue isn't it - gotta perform there. Maybe they need to tweak and prove, to keep people happy. (This is all imo.)
I think that's where they're at right now...imo only. Are there any repeat negatives from the labels...to my knowledge no. That's gotta be all good. PPS has plenty of scope to come down in this no-news climate. That's ok imo. Wait for the catch! (I'm long, so long, you dont wanna know)
Anything more, GoQ?
The car jumped the start! (just kidding - I hope!)
Don't know about the CA guy who was the face...what's that about? See ltdnetwork.com, this merged with AVDI. Not so important, except to consider that AK and team have been around for a long time with this and have overcome huge barriers to get here.
AK was there through AVDI and before AVDI.
