your attitude explains why NetFlix adds and retains millions of subscribers per year when in several years we still haven't cracked 20k.
I know some like to keep their heads buried in the sand, but for anyone interested in how GameZnFlix service has been reviewing recently:
http://www.dvdrr.com/reviews/GameznFlix.html
sure it can, it's dropped 40% in just a couple weeks. on 'good' news even...
I know that Gamefly does this type of rapid return service, must be new for gzfx though. either way, I'm not gonna complain about 2-3 day turnarounds, as that's about as fast as it can possibly get. as fast as Netflix at least.
I hope for all holding that it keeps going up. I'm not touching this one again til the annual report is released.
they also checked IN my title the next business day from when it was mailed. it's not getting to California from Seattle in one day. also recieved my titles the day after that, both are firsts for me, but maybe just a lucky coincidence?
maybe you should read your own posts before casting stones, lil rebbie?
yeah, the great and powerful Oz must have seen my posts or otherwise magically fixed something, as my last two exchanges were 2-3 day turnarounds (Kent, WA). can't complain about that.
well why don't "you" delete "your" cookies and see for "your"self?
no offense.
lolxx0rz!!11one!!!1!1ele!11!!11ven!
yeah, I was seeing gzfx ads everywhere until I deleted my cookies. nice trick, JF/Chip...spend advertising dollars on current subscribers.
hahahah...does the market handle 1/100,000th of a cent???
lizzy,
I live in Seattle, and I'm telling you with 100% certainty that unless you have special equipment to receive and decode digital broadcasts, all you'll receive is the analogue channel of KHCV, which alternates between shopping and Latino programming. even being the subscriber to digital cable that I am I still can't receive KHCV's digital channels. as far as I know, the only people with digital, over the air (ota) tuners have HDTVs and probably have better things to watch. I personally don't even know anyone with an HDTV and rabbit ears that watches OTA programming. cable or satellite yes. and by satellite, I mean Dish/Directv, not these 6 foot monster dishes that the GZFX channel broadcasts to.
I think we'll hit rock bottom when the annual report comes out. I mean, c'mon, there have been good PRs the past few weeks but the stock still loses 40%?!?!?!? I certainly have no plans to buy back in until the numbers are released as they're obviously bad enough that JF/Chip have humbled themselves by finally admitting that they need outside help. a move they should have made a year or two ago, imho...next quarter, between all of the ads and word of mouth, I hope we'll be golden.
neither Millenium (48) nor Comcast (15) carry any of KHCV's digital channels, so I guess you'd need an ATSC tuner (most likely built into an HDTV) + rabbit ears to receive those feeds, ie nobody is watching.
stick with the internet ads JF/Chip...something you guys should have done long ago. if you want tv ads, pony up and get placed on channels that people can actually receive and want to watch. and scratch the production company responsible for the previous travesties please. thanks.

IT'S ABOUT TIME! (eom)
irony or prophecy? you decide:
pretty crazy that a gzfx ad came up when I was looking up this word's definition/pronunciation.
unless he gets paid in shares
I've had no issues at all with getting xbox and xbox360 games, even recent releases.
honest question: what are the chances that the annual report will be positive news? I mean, we were fully deployed in CC in the last quarter, which is by far the biggest retail quarter of the year. could we have doubled or tripled our subscriber count, or are the results so pathetic that it's the reason JF and Chip hired Moroch?
I really wish that news would have been released before any of these last few PRs, as we could have bottomed out already and been back on the upswing with the news of the tv/streaming deals, or increased our value substantially if the annual results were positive. instead, there have been 3 recent positive PRs and the stock is sinking, most likely because me and probably a lot of people like me are waiting on the sidelines until this news is released.
oh, trust me, I've had problems, but for some reason, the game part of my subscription has been flawless.
everyone around here can vouch that I don't pull any punches with my criticisms of GZFX, but even I can't complain about their 360 games. I had Gears of War shipped to me as soon as I put it in my queue (a few weeks after it was released), was able to get Lego Star Wars II pretty quickly too. all of my other 360 games show up ready to go, I just keep bumping them from my top spots for movies.
yep, they're there.
is there a chance the annual report may actually be good news?
true to my word, but to my utter shock and amazement, I received an e-mail from GameZnFlix at 14:51 PST stating that Serenity had been received.
Strong work, JF, Chip, and GZFX crew!
yeah, it's really inexplicable that the Kent distribution center is what, 10-15 miles from downtown Seattle, yet all of my media is routed through CA...I'll follow your recommendation though and e-mail customer service, although they haven't proven themselves to me much help in the past. in fact, I actually got quick results just from posting on this site once. I posted a jpeg that someone at gzfx had botched and to my amazement, it had been re-shopped and updated on their website within a just few hours.
I'm sure there has to be some redistribution of content going on among DCs, but in the 4 months I've been a subscriber, all but one of my media have come from and gone back to Northern Heights, California. the one exception was to Kentucky.
hey, xanadu, you can mark me down for keeping it real in Seattle, WA.
anyway, here's my latest experience:
I mailed two media back yesterday (2/20/2007) on my way to work. Miami Vice to NetFlix and Serenity to GameZnFlix. as of 8:05 this morning (2/21/2007) I'd already received a message from NetFlix stating that they've received Miami Vice. no word from GameZnFlix, who presumably have a distribution center about 15 miles closer to me than NetFlix' operation in Tacoma. I'll be sure to let you know when GameZnFlix acknowledges receipt of Serenity, but my bet is that it won't happen this week as it's on its way to a GameZnFlix distribution center in California.
I'd mentioned late last month that I'd already downgraded my GZFX service and would cancel it entirely within a month should they not sort out some problems with their service, namely inventory and timeliness. one of my gripes, inventory, appears to have already improved, as the list of available hd-dvds has grown exponentially since this time last month, so a big KUDOS to JF and Chip, who I am sure pay attention to this board, for sorting that out. my second gripe, timeliness, still needs to be addressed though, guys. it's inexcusable to have a distribution center in Kent, WA, yet all of my media are being funnelled through California. this seriously needs to be addressed before I even consider upgrading my account. the time for excuses is past and I expect you two (JF and Chip) to step up and do what it takes to reduce turnaround times. your pricing is right on, your website looks leagues better than even a few months ago, and I can see that your inventory is improving, but you really have to fix turnaround times.
this isn't a bash post in anyway, and should not be construed as such by anyone on this board, so spare me and the rest of the board any spastic, knee jerk responses to this post please. I'm telling it like it is, giving credit where credit is due, and providing some much needed (and free!) constructive criticism.
best of luck, guys (and gals?).
hahahahah...you guys are funny with your talk of 'badmouthing' as if you are oblivious to the fact that this stock has lost about 90% of its value since last Spring and hasn't even broken 20k subs in how many years? but ooooh, hey, lookee! we're on the jewelry shopping channel that no one watches, or we're on the business channel (in the UK?) that has nothing to do with our core business, or we're on some obscure third rate movie rental website that doesn't even offer B quality movies! you folks are easily excited and cut JF and Chip far too much slack. but oh, 'they're turning the corner' you say, and I respond 'pish-posh'. when turnaround times are under a week, inventory isn't 'on order' for 8 months, and subscriber revenue is enough to break even (all of which should have already been achieved if not for the previously mentioned diversions), then I'll give these 2 some praise. and since I'm feeling so charitable, I'll give them credit for fixing their website, which was an unmitigated disaster until recently (past 2 months or so). GOOD JOB ON THAT, JF AND CHIP!
maybe if it weren't on a jewelry shopping channel.
well, I certainly hope you're right. JF and Chip seem to have found a sure fire way of turning gold to crap. historically at least.
They know that straight advertising dollars won't get them more awareness than Netflix and if they tried, they'd go flat broke. Instead, they're going about it in a way that will accomplish their goal of brand awareness while at the same time set up a revenue stream to counter balance their advertising dollars.
it's certainly a lot better than spending millions on satellite and business channels...
I truly hope you don't regret your new shares when the quarterly report comes out...seriously.
did you see the word 'barter' in there? either way, I've never seen that post you linked to...good stuff. thanks!
the prize is microsoft(xboxlive).eom
there you go, how can I get JF kicked out and you made CEO?
well, a 'deal is a deal', but a deal isn't always a sale. this channel that you're excited about hosts 'paid programming'. think about that. JF could be paying them to air these shows and chalking it up as advertising expense. or trading them 'even'...you get free 'entertainment', and I get 'free' advertising...something like that. I highly doubt this station is paying for any content though. same as that website. maybe they get a commission or something if someone marks on their subscription signup that they heard of gzfx on that website or tv station...I dunno...just another distraction away from the pitiful subscriber count.
hey, no worries, william. I didn't take it as rude at all. I'm sure there are a lot of longs around here that look at this as positive news, which, in relation to PRs from a year or two ago, IS positive news...just not particularly positive in the grand scheme of things, imho. if they sell some of their shows to mtv or vh1 or g4 or whatever, I'll sit up and take notice.
I don't see anything in that previous PR that said they sold content to that third rate website. what was it called? Reeltime? if it had been substantial news, the price wouldn't have dropped. same with this news. the only positive I'm seeing from this is that JF isn't spending millions on business and satellite channels anymore, but is instead advertising his brand for cheap or free, and maybe, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe even making a few dollars.
hey, I'll be sure to keep you and everyone here informed as best I can, william, no sweat. I showed you what the channel is broadcasting as of now. not particularly exciting stuff. I'll let you know if things change in the future, but my point is that the demographic that watches home shopping channels is probably not 18-34 year old males...they say the other thing they boroadcast is Azteca TV. maybe that will work out better??? I get digital cable, so if I can't screen print from my pc, I'll snap and share some digipix and give you some impressions. as it stands, I'm not particularly impressed with this news.
yep, MS, Boeing, Starbucks, and tacky broads selling tacky diamond rings...
lucky you. I've been a sub since October and have had nothing come from or go to Kent.
oh, hey, great, KHCV is a shopping channel. right now some tacky broad is selling tacky diamond rings.
