Have you read the messages here about phone calls? Who do you think we are trying to get in touch with Elvis? Actually I would prefer to talk to someone who speaks the truth so that would probably exclude management.
You are probably giving him way too much credit.
ROFL! ROFL!
I will believe it when I see results. Nobody here should have to be explaining to the company about the merits of good communication. If they don't get it on their own they shouldn't be in business.
I think it is a secret printing press for shares and also serves as an oven to burn shareholders.
I am very dissapointed with UPZS. There are so many deficiencies in the way they handle relatively simple matters. How can they master anything of importance? Those little touches like returning phone calls, providing basic information to shareholders and informing the public don't require a tremedous amount of effort.
I would be releived if they just told the truth (ugly or not) just once instead of making false statements about the AF's, the web page etc. Right now any accurate info would be appreciated - emphasis on "accurate".
I keep hearing the accolades in tribute of the UPZS management team. What have they done that is so impressive other than look inefficient and have other people make excuses for them?
I remember the time that JV's mommy got on the CC and was asked to share. My jaw dropped to the floor. It was hokey at best. I was waiting to see if they were going to do a sing along or call in a UPZS pizza delivery man to share a few tearful motivational stories.
If you look at my comments I have always kept a somewhat balanced yet lately critical view in regards to this company.
Anyway best of luck to all UPZS shareholders
One other thing, I have tried calling UPZS three times with no call back response. Has anyone else called and received any information recently? If so, who do you speak to at the company? I am trying to find out when the AF's are going to be released and when the website will be updated.
For the sake of argument, since when have laws stopped criminal behavior?????
If I put a million dollars on a table with a note saying "take this and you are breaking the law". How long do you think that million dollars would last? Where there is a will there is a way to break laws.
I am not saying the UPZS has engaged in any kind of criminal activity but they have a lack of integrity and they have continually proved it. (Lack of promised AF's, web page completion, pumped up projections, and dealings with FC). All the "all stars" on their team and not one of them in all their experience has been able to open more than a few stores. Then when they open one or two stores they can't do a press release because it is too expensive???? That is the hallmark of poor management. I will be impressed with the market plan, the management team and Bob Fidler, when they can prove that they are up to the challenge - and are not running the business like a typical clownish bunch of pink sheeters.
If this continues look for an all time low in share price. IMO
AF's?
Web Page?
IMO it is hard to believe that a company that has continually lied through their teeth is going to give out accurate information on a CC.
What is someone supposed to believe???? If they didn't lie than their actions show incompetence. How many times did they say the AF's would be released? How about the completely revamped web page? Where's the beef???????
That is not even taking into account their ridiculous and inaccurate projections on the opening of stores.
JV and the Dream Team are the "self proclaimed" experts and IMO have failed miserably on many of their claims. To me it is dishonest. If not it would seem they are bumbling idiots. And we all know there is no way that could be the case.
Netman,
Were you taliking about lawyers or foxes???? LOL!
Third time to post here. Greatly appreciate your insight. Thanks for all the information.
Best Wishes,
Crown
Thanks pennyhungry.
If you reread my post it says that I received a message from him. I would probably still be on the phone asking questions had I been able to actually talk to him.
UPZS is too busy to call me back and give ACCURATE information. I called three times asking for the same information. I received one call back on my answering machine with information that had nothing to do with my question.
So I will kindly ask again, who is your source and do you work for UPZS by any chance?
Just curious - do you have a source for that info?
No CC's. Garland Harris became a franchisee.
Jack Carol from UPZS just called and left a message saying "I understand that you are looking for information about becoming a franchisee". After giving me his phone number he further states," I also understand that you want to know where to purchase additional stock" He then proceeds to give me Tom's name and number.
These are the questions I originally asked when I spoke to the person that took my message:
* What is going on with Garland Harris and the store
that is supposed to be opening in Austin? I have heard
conflicting reports. Lonnie at FC tells me that the
Austin location permits have been approved and that
construction should already be started.
I heard somewhere else (IHUB) that one of the Austin
stores (see Post # 3872) will be opening in May. That is
very quick is this true?
* Where are the audited financials that were promised????
Do you have a timeline???
I am sitting here rolling my eyes trying to figure out how they took a very clear and concise message and screwed it up so badly. But then again, poor communication has been a major problem for UPZS so i probably shouldn't be surprized.

Another interesting article from 2006 with a few projections.

Unique Pizza and Subs continues projected sales
Pittsburgh-based Unique Pizza and Subs is projecting sales of more than $11 million in the North Carolina and Virginia markets by the end of 2007 and more than $13 million in the Pittsburgh market.
In North Carolina and Virginia, local residents Steve and Debbie Hamm and Rick and
Rayanne Trader plan to have their first of five locations open by this August. An aggressive program is also in place to convert 21 existing pizzerias in the region into Unique Pizza and Subs over the next 18 months.
"Our franchisees reflect the attitude of this market; young, ambitious and professional," says James Vowler, president and CEO of Unique Pizza and Subs. "With the expansion of 26 new franchises in the North Carolina and Virginia market it is another strong indication to our loyal shareholders how committed we are towards national expansion."
During the next 60 days, Unique Pizza and Subs also plans to open three new locations in Monaca, Wexford and Robinson Townships in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Unique Pizza and Subs is in various stages of negotiations with numerous prospective franchisees throughout Western Pennsylvania. The company is projecting the opening of six new stores and the conversion of 25 independent stores by the end of 2007 with total sales of $13,285,300.
"As the only publicly traded pizza franchise that is headquartered in
Pittsburgh, we are extremely excited about our growth throughout Western Pennsylvania. I designed Unique Pizza and Subs from its conception to be a publicly traded, nationwide franchise. A franchise that would have the quality of a 'mom-and-pop' pizza shop but with the consistency of a major franchise," Vowler says.
Unique Pizza and Subs Corporation currently is a startup/development stage company. It recently announced the appointment of David L. Sherbondy as its vice president of commissary.
I have a second call in to UPZS. I called yesterday in regards to the Austin location(s) and wanted to know the status of the AF. They did not return my call. Someone named Andrew is supposed to call me back. Is that name familar to anyone? It was the same name given to me as yesterday. The person answering the phone was very friendly and professional.
Isn't this one of the "Gold Club" famous picks??????
"Currently, the finacials are listed somewhere between Beowolf and Aesop"
Actually that is incorrect. Both the poem and the fables have been published and can be read and critiqued by investors.
GO UNIQUE!
Keep your eyes open PKG. I am not a politically correct person and I am sure in time I will write something else that will send you packing again. I changed my sig because I am a big fan of Mark Twain.
Just like with UPZS I try to see the good the bad and the ugly. I am really taking time now to communicate with them because I want answers not speculation.
I have a call into corporate because I have heard conflicting reports on Austin. I was told by Lonnie yesterday that some of the hurdles were overcome in regards to construction. I believe someone here said that Austin will be open by the end of May. That would be pretty quick IMO.
Also requested information on when FA and info would be released.
Hey! Welcome back.
Greetings,
I just spent a significant amount of time on the phone with Lonnie Thomas of Fountain Capital. I initiated the call because yet another friend of mine (also a UPZS investor via FC) had been contacted by FC pushing something.
I asked a lot of questions, and gave a lot of "feedback" on the perception that I have held in regards to the integrity of Fountain Capital, Garland Harris, and the relationship between FC and UPZS. I also discussed the issue of troptions which were promised a year ago.
Although I am not going to join the FC fan club any time soon, I felt that Lonnie was very up front with me and that he was giving me honest answers to my questions. He stated to me that anyone who has questions in regards to FC in relation to UPZS could contact him.
Here is his number.

I thought you recommended this at one time on the GoldClub or am I mistaken?
I'm truly humbled and shaking in my boots.....The UPZS-X Files The truth is out there. I'm sure I will find it in two weeks.
As far as I am concerned anything mentioned on a UPZS CC is not a fact until it is actually verifiable with proof.
Can you support that with documentation????????
Oh brother! If I owned stock in Quiznos I would be glad to do the research. Here is something interesting to take a look at. Probably not exactly recent but interesting nonetheless.
http://www.kylemore.ie/pages/quiz1.htm
"With more than 5,000 restaurants open worldwide and a further 2,000 under construction, Quiznos is one of the fastest growing quick service restaurant chains in the world. Kylemore are proud to introduce this exciting brand to the Irish Market. Founded in Denver , Colorado in 1981 it is estimated that a new Quiznos location opens every 16 hours somewhere in the world."
Should i call them and get time and dates on ALL the permits or just the one down the street or three others that i have seen take over other stores??????
I know what you are getting at Skunksyard that permits etc. take time. I understand that but it is not impossible.
Someone asked me about new Quiznos stores. There is one that is right down the street from me that just opened. i have seen others as well and they moved in quickly. I don't like Quiznos but for some reason they get in and start operating quickly. I wish the same for UPZS but I don't see it.
I am amazed at the small amount of stock it takes to move the price.
This is kind of interesting as it relates to UPZS. I thought FC was in a hurry to open UPZS shops? Evidently they have plenty of time while waiting for permits.

GTP123, Inc. Announces Operating Plan
Thursday April 19, 5:35 pm ET
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 19, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- GTP123, Inc. (Other OTC:GTPI.PK - News), announced today its new operating plan to become a source of information and support for small companies wishing to raise capital and become publicly traded companies. The Company, through its subsidiaries Fountain Capital University, Inc. (``FCU''), Global Trading Partners Corp. (``GTP'') and New Dynamic Media Productions, Inc. (``NDMP''), will provide a variety of classes, information, support and encouragement for the management of small companies.

President and CEO Garland E. Harris stated, ``Our goal is to help up 62,400 small companies raise capital and get their stock traded on an entry level public market. We realize that this will necessitate the invention of additional markets and supporting services that do not exist today. We are doing this because we believe that while many companies are chasing business in China, India, and other countries, there are vast opportunities for entrepreneurs that exist right here in the greatest market in the world, the United States of America. We believe that if the United States doesn't make the effort to support its own entrepreneurs, our economy will suffer in the end. We want to be part of that support effort.''
Mr. Harris added, ``While much of what we will teach entrepreneurs is available in books, academic classes and lectures from various groups and institutions around the country, we believe that if people don't have consistently available support and reinforcement, they won't make adequate use of that information. Our company will supply that support and coaching.''
Mr. Harris emphasized that the Company will not be a stockbroker or a financing finder, rather it plans to fill an unfilled need for information, coaching and support for entrepreneurs with potentially, high-growth companies.
The Company's operating plan is to have its subsidiaries make available to entrepreneurs various kinds of support. FCU will assist companies to understand the process of raising capital and the options which are available to them. It will also provide guidance to interested companies on how get their stock traded on the entry level stock markets. GTP will provide global consulting services to companies on how to benefit from a specialized financial instrument it calls a Troption. NDMP will provide promotion, production and media services to public companies to replace the usually ineffective investor relations services. GTPI intends to grow through developing and acquiring businesses that will assist small companies in the process of raising capital and going public.
Mr. Harris, who has over 20 years of management, training and entrepreneurial-related experience with several companies in fields ranging from real estate to barter trading, led a group which acquired the Company (formally traded under the symbol NOVX) earlier this year. The Company has offices in Austin, Texas; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada.

<<Unless you are a restaurateur and have more experience than they and Fidler, your opinions do not mean much.>>
I am not saying this to be rude but where did you get the elitest attitude???? what do they have at this point? I don't need to be an "expert" in the restaurant business to see that they are currently a small time east coast pizza company with big ideas, Fidler's name, and very few pizza places.
Granted, they have a great plan and a good team...I think. But until they produce results they are still nothing.
I have said this before if a person is an "expert" in the business they should have a clue about permit delays. Making false claims or massive miscalculations in time frames is the true sign of an amatuer not an expert. Right now they can't even get the website up and running.
Where is Fidler building here???????? As far as I have heard NOTHING is being built here yet. Do you have any info to share? I know he was out here a week or so ago.
I have NEVER eaten at a Quiznos.
I hear the "Revention Call Center Program" (which is worth millions when you have many, many, pizza locations or seven) also has software for "race car spotting". This way, in between all the pizza orders they can give direction to one of the many Nascar UPZS race car drivers! Just kidding! Blowin off a little steam. I do think the race cars are a good thing.
Hopefully this will all turn out well. I have kept my trust in UPZS but i have yet to warm up again to my friends at FC. Can someone explain to me how I have watched everything in my portfolio that cost a fraction of what I have put into UPZS race past UPZS into green and now outvalues my UPZS stock by double or triple? Hmmmmm.
Yeah.....I am a complainer right now. Yes I did do my research...Yes I did go on their initial word. Sorry if that irks some of you, but I was under the assumption that the stock should eventually be climbing and that even the recent promises would occur soon. I hope so. Still waiting to see. I am seeing Quiznos stores go into recently vacated properties. I wonder how that happens? I wish it was UPZS. Hopefully UPZS will come through that is what we are banking on.....all IMHO
PA,
Burning through credit is a way of life out here in CA for MANY people not just businesses! LOL!
Pizzaking,
It takes money to make money. This is true. So what did they make on all the other money? I hope more than promises.
Newswire - Unique Pizza and Subs (UPZS) Unique Pizza and subs an east coast pizza franchise is in the process of expanding into Austin Texas, Hilo Hawaii, San Diego California, and the Las Vegas Nevada Market. CEO Jim Vowler feels that within two weeks (Or a couple of years) when UPZS merges the private company with the public company and Phelps Motorsports, UPZS should have at least 150 cars running the Nascar circut. LOL! JK! JK!
Honestly PK I am hoping that people far beyond my low level of intelligence are right about UPZS.
