Perhaps my memory is bad, but I thought I remember Obama saying
he (the government) was in charge in the gulf ? So why is it we
keep hearing BP's name mentioned.
Seep found near BP's busted oil well, says federal official

NEW ORLEANS -- A federal official said Sunday that scientists are concerned about a seep and possible methane seen near BP's busted oil well in the Gulf of Mexico.
Both could be signs there are leaks in the well that's been capped off for three days.
The official spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Sunday because an announcement about the next steps had not yet been made.
The official is familiar with the spill oversight but would not clarify what is seeping near the well. The official said BP is not complying with the government's demand for more monitoring. BP spokesman Mark Salt declined to comment on the allegation, but said "we continue to work very closely with all government scientists on this."
Retired Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen will make the final decisions on the next step. The official said Allen would issue a letter to BP shortly allowing testing to proceed in 24-hour increments, but also requiring more analysis of the seep and the possible observation of methane over the well.
If Allen doesn't get the response he wants, the testing could stop, the official said.
The custom-built cap that finally cut off the oil flowing from BP's broken well three days ago was holding steady Sunday.
A BP official said the company hoped to leave the cap in place until crews can permanently kill the leak.
That differs from the plan the federal government laid out a day earlier, in which millions more gallons of oil could be released before the cap is connected to tankers at the surface and oil is sent to be collected through a mile of pipes.
Federal officials wary of making the well unstable have said that plan would relieve pressure on the cap and may be the safer option, but it would mean three days of oil flowing into the Gulf before the collection begins.

Thanks and good luck.
Gulf clean-up effort needs technology like ours in a big way,
yet it seems as if companies that can make a difference now are
are the ones being held back, Why.
Gulf Oil Disaster Watch: VIDEO- Water along Alabama’s coast.. explodes!

Outstanding audio clip.
What's interesting to me is, since about July 5-6th there has been very little said about any major effort to clean up the
oil in the Gulf. By Saturday afternoon that new cap will have
been in place about 48 hours. If it holds like they expect, then there's now reason for further foot dragging.
They better get serious about getting started on cleaning this
mess up before a full fledged hurricane hits and major damage is
dune many miles inland over many states.
I'd pay to see that show.
At some point management needs to take a stand and assure stock
holders that progress is being made. This continuing wall of
silence does no one any good.
How sweet it is, well worth the boards time to read.
Cork, I would if I could. I'm off tomorrow to Washington DC. No
I'm not going to to give Obama my two cents worth. It's a yearly
gathering for some of us old Navy boys. We do this every year in
different parts of the country. Always good to see old friends.
If the hotel has a computer center I'll try and keep up with
what the board has to say.
Cork there is a magic wand,it's called the Presidency. All Obama
has to do is use his office.
Isn't this where Obama is suppose to step in and tell the various
agencies to quit dragging their feet, or does he have another golf
game, vacation or trip out of country planned
While we wait. I know it's a day past the 4th. of July, but I only came across this link today. It reminds you what a few moments of kindness can mean to so many over a very long
period of time.
Information will be controled even more.
This would fit in well with the $40,000.00 fine for taking pictures of oil soaked birds and animals. They don't want anyone
to know how much damage was done.
Are you starting to have second thoughts about your investment
here ?
Good enough for me.
This might be a better choice. The color scheme of that other
company didn't match. There equipment seemed to be all banana
yellow.
Intermoor on the other hand seems to be yellow and gray, perhaps
the gray looks blue under water when lit up.

LOL,we now know why BP is foot dragging, the question is why is
Washington setting on there hands ??
While we wait for news, he are some excellent photos from the
golf oil spill.

That paint job looks like our colors ??
Interesting question, It's nothing we've seen before. What ever
it is, it seems to have a fresh paint job on it. There's no question that the Gulf water is calm enough to move things in place.
A $40,000 fine and a Class D Felony for taking pictures of oil-soaked wildlife

Based on this weather map, wave heigths seem to be manageable. There should be no reason our equipment wasn't sent out today or
at least by this weekend.

Well I think most of us knew the American people where getting
screwed, the question was how it was being accomplished. It
should be obvious even to a blind person that BP has been telling
the Coast Guard what to do, and the only thing Obama is in charge
of is pandering to BP. Who would have ever gussed, LOL
I'll bet we'll be told that all the brightest minds in Washington
couldn't figure out what BP was up to,Yea right.
Great video clip.
Does any board member have eye's on the Gulf and give us an
assessment of the wave height ? Yesterday the wave height was around 7 foot.
Today is not the day unless ESPH has a get out of jail free card
from the Coast Guard. They pulled all small craft and barges
off the Gulf.
I was just listening to the Weather Channel, they indicated
there are seven (7) sea's in the Louisiana area. So nothing
is going out in the Gulf at this time.
Seems to me the various skimmers like "THE "A" WHALE" only partialy
clean the water and I don't remember reading that any of them remove
the toxins that's being generated by that spill.
US accepts international assistance for Gulf spill
US accepts international assistance in dealing with massive oil spill in Gulf of Mexico.
Ap Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The United States is accepting help from 12 countries and international organizations in dealing with the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
The State Department said in a statement Tuesday that the U.S. is working out the particulars of the help that's been accepted.
The identities of all 12 countries and international organizations were not immediately announced. One country was cited in the State Department statement -- Japan, which is providing two high-speed skimmers and fire containment boom.
More than 30 countries and international organizations have offered to help with the spill. The State Department hasn't indicated why some offers have been accepted and others have not.
Best I know our units will be on a barges.
shappy I haven't seen anything on Fox or CNN news about the Jones act being waved. Do you have any follow up info- on this ?

KngmAz give it a break, that's a one pony act. Kevin and BP will
need to put a new face on that one.
shappy don't beat yourself up over voting for him, a lot of people
made that mistake.
