I think there will be a program set up that certain criteria must be met to become a small scale contractor.
Yes Mulberry is harvested year round no offseason in lam dong.
I have no doubt there will be egg production at Lam dong facility in future.
First let me be clear on the Hatchery.
Kbl hasn't used a Hatchery before as far as I know.
Me bringing up a Hatchery is me thinking out loud why kbl mentioned them visiting during December in regards to expansion.
My belief after looking at the puzzle pieces is that the production model for 3rd party contracting will include both small and large scale producers along with hatcheries to supply small producers.
I have no first hand knowledge on your question.
But I think there were signs at both prodigy and gss of small and loose cocoons.
From the information by kbl so far and meeting with hatcheries I'm thinking prodigy sends eggs to hatchery.
The Hatchery then hatches eggs and then sends those out to smaller contractors.
Cocoons then sent to Prodigy Lam Dong branch or directly to reelers.
The pics are from a hatchery in lam dong.
They are not kbl worms in the pics.
Just showing the process used when farmers buy from hatchery instead of buying eggs.
I can confirm that kbl did vet additional production locations and partners, for 2024 and beyond.
It is not a production site yet.
Just like with gss, trials first and then signed agreements.
I'm not aware if an agreement has been signed with potential partners.
Another paragraph that intrigued me was from the upcoming vietnam visit pr in December
This trip will lay the groundwork for the upcoming spring rearing season, strengthening its team, and preparing its facilities. The Company is leveraging the winter offseason to align its staff and contractors to ensure ideal conditions for the launch of the 2024 season. Senior management will also meet with hatcheries and spinners to look for opportunities to expand the Company’s integration into the supply chain and to vet additional production locations and partners, for 2024 and beyond.
Meeting with hatcheries wasn't about learning from them.
A popular earner in lam dong is buying young silkworms from hatcheries because of the quick turnaround and paid in a couple weeks.
This aligns with the smaller contractors.
Possibly a cooperative is formed strictly for spidersilk.
This might be the avenue for monster silk.
so, not at kblb's new Lam Dong facility?
Correct
And not a large facility.
Smaller scale that is more common.
are we conducting trials with the possibility of signing on a new contractor in Lam Dong?
I believe there will be numerous smaller scale contractors as eggs become more available.
In the process of that test, we also learned how we can improve our procedures and business model beyond mere silkworm robustness to achieve our production objectives. We have active negotiations in process with public and private sector actors, which would have been unimaginable six months ago.
You've been
"BAM"-BOOZLED
Explain it in detail and I am willing to listen.
But you never do.
All you have ever had is cut and paste.
Some additional news for others.
The silk you saw in December was not produced at Prodigy or GSS.
Produced in lam dong by another group .
Almost like it was drop in and go.
“New Spider Silk Production Facility in Vietnam’s Silk Capital”. Exact words last PR
Also exact words
The facility is located in the center of Vietnam’s largest silk-producing region, providing excellent access to fresh mulberry, skilled sericulture staffing, and cocoon reeling facilities.
Thank God this storage room is close to fresh Mulberry and skilled sericulture staffing.
You can't store Silk if you don't have fresh Mulberry.
And you need skilled sericulture staffing to handle delivery.
That's their job right.
Lol
Yeah it isn't the usual lately.
Steady news of progress each week and share price is acting accordingly.
After the December high of .052 i put an order at 0342 on December 26
Hit twice in January but only 80% completed.
I was a day late getting funds cleared this week for some more .045
But I can't complain, it's just cherries on top
Great first week of the year of the dragon
Vietnam has talked about sourcing eggs from other countries for a number of years. And the last 5 years they have basically spun their wheels.
But now options are starting to appear.
After their 2 year trial with Korea they found a suitable strain for Vietnam.
While it didn't shatter records it is a stable option for the region.
Vietnam has just partnered with Uzbekistan to help supply eggs.
They have a number of strains they have developed from China and other countries.
As for kbl I don't think the goal is to supply Vietnam at this stage.
I believe they are using Vietnams resources to further develop strains to be used for spidersilk with the added benefit for Vietnam for mundane silk.
This partnership helps free up the time and resources kbl is spending on production silkworm strains.
expand its production capacities and footprint in the first quarter of 2024
Every time kbl mentions expand production footprint it results in a new facility coming online.

Mojo doesn't care.
Sold at profit and then got in much lower.
Lol
Another step forward.
Keep on taking those steps kbl, definitely heading in the right direction.
The momentum has been ongoing over the last 12 months.
The share price will start catching up as more proof of that momentum is released by kbl.
Starting with acceptance in lam dong back in 2022.
Close work with larec helping kbl source worms for their hybrid program.
Hiring Jeff Dorton to develop new yarns that gave kbl more insight and resulted in the purchase of equipment and
a set of processing steps and protocols that have proven to improve the silk staple fiber separation and alignment, which will increase the overall quality and uniformity of the composite yarns.
Hiring senior level genetic engineering members
Hiring researchers with 50 years of sericulture experience.
Hiring scientists from notre dame with spidersilk experience.
Hiring sericulture experts with 30 years experience at senior level positions.
The last 12 months has seen multiple steps forward without the past 2 steps back.
This is no longer just kim, rice and candy cane show with a repurposed factory in dai loc and a prodigy team with a lack of breeding experience.
Those days are long gone.
A don't forget the Airforce
For those wondering the weight of a bale of silk to compare with kbl bale.

Today's announcement gave an important detail that may tie in his meeting with larec.
"The purpose of the upcoming field trials is to gain data from hybrids which we have developed over the last 12 months."
the purpose of the meeting last weekend was for cooperation in research and selection of silkworm breeds in the near future.
Now makes me wonder if those silkworms were in fact kbl hybrids that will give the data kbl needs.
After all, collecting data is what they do at larec.
With that data they can then confirm it at gss and possibly another contractor in a different region of Vietnam.
Either way,more news to come
Just Vietnam documenting the visit.
Turns out I got my wires crossed.
The meeting did not involve The Vietnam Ethnic Minorities Association.
Was Mulberry Association,kbl and Larec.
Which now makes sense at this stage.
The photos were from larec campus.
I do not believe those young silkworms were kbl worms.
Sorry for any confusion.
Yes,thanks for rebooting the memory.
Nam Ban silk is the Ham La project.
I'm guessing the group out of Dambri commune are the Bao Loc project.
I wrote about quang nam trials and vh2020 December 2022

Vh2020 is pretty meh to be honest.
Doesn't yield great in hot climate or wet season.
Large pupae reducing shell weight.
Even in ideal climate the yield isn't amazing with a run of the mill thread length.
Interesting media release today
Could be just a coincidence or something to keep an eye on
Attracting investment in 7 livestock and plant breed production projects
In the period 2023 - 2025, the whole province will attract investment in 7 livestock and plant breed production projects, with a total capital of 84 billion VND.
Among them, there are 2 silkworm egg production projects in Lam Ha district and Bao Loc city, with a total investment capital of 36 billion VND, corresponding to an output of 200,000 boxes/year.
Da Lat City has 2 investment projects worth 25 billion VND to produce flower varieties using growth peak culturing technology, importing, and cross-breeding flower varieties for export.
3 districts of Lam Ha, Don Duong, Bao Lam attract investment of 23 billion VND in 3 projects of raising high-yield beef cattle, producing high-tech silkworm breeds, and producing high-quality vegetable and fruit varieties.
Just one meeting of many
Of course spidersilk isn't on the back burner.
Always one extreme to the other on here.
You didn't get it
Lam Dong has year round production.
The key is that Mulberry can be harvested continuously in Lam Dong.
My belief was this meeting involved research and breeding with the parties involved.
If that is correct i don't see this involving spidersilk. Kbl and Prodigy handle that.
I believe larec played a big role in the selection of silkworms used for the multi line silkworm .
Vietnam currently has zero breeding of level 2 silkworms. All imported.
From the pr
Senior management will also meet with hatcheries and spinners to look for opportunities to expand the Company’s integration into the supply chain and to vet additional production locations and partners, for 2024 and beyond.
Vietnam needs quality egg supply and a facility with refrigeration requirements.
Kbl could assist with 1 part and Vietnam the other.
Or another arrangement
I was surprised Kim actually went.
Only times I can remember were 2014 to meet the vice pm and 2017 for the investment certificate.
Guy on the left is chairman of Mulberry under the larec umbrella.
He has been meeting with kbl from the start when kbl first imported their worms and recommended the higher yielding S7-CB Mulberry.
Guy on the right was a surprise to me.
I believe he represents the ethnic minorities association.
Sericulture has played a big role in lifting minorities out of poverty.
Basically the whole village works at a central rearing house which has shown to have great success.
I have doubts that this is for spidersilk though.
If it is for spidersilk I can see a mulberry deal being done to support research and breeding.
Have to wait and see.
Why do you panic so much when kbl info is presented.
Lol
This meeting was in lam dong yesterday.
Last Saturday was the national sericulture meeting that once again highlighted the need for new hybrids for Vietnam instead of 90% Chinese worms.
When kbl confirmed the business license in lam dong last year they put in a paragraph that I don't think many understood at the time or even noticed.
In June, management from Kraig Labs traveled to Lam Dong for meetings with officials from the Lam Dong Agro-Forestry Research Experiment Center (LAREC) to assess the opportunities to expand silk production into the province and to tour the regional support infrastructure. The LAREC operates as the authority in Vietnamese sericulture, maintaining 47 unique species of Vietnamese silkworms.
Kbl has now officially expanded their footprint in lam dong.
I'll let kbl fill in the rest and who else is involved.
Alot of people interested in the new hybrid worms.
That is a good question.
Is it really?
The July announcement stated they were researcher positions.
They were introducing egg hatching protocols and screening.
These consultants are bringing the commercial production expertise to kblb from the ground up.
Was hoping for the tuesday no pr letdown sells and got another chunk at 2.6 cents this morning.
Up to this year kbl has survived with 1 scientist and a junior.
Along with numerous minimum wage hires.
Unfortunately for kbl there are not alot of people with experience in the field in the usa .
When they become available you hire them.
So now kbl have been able to balance their staff with sericultureists and scientists with experience who don't simply change employment on a whim.
It doesn't mean failure or success with their worms.
They have simply strengthened their staff.
Some dumbass sold me some cheap shares.
Lol
Haters lol
Not my fault spiber uses garbage inputs with garbage output.
What on earth happened to the pic of the sleeve.
Did they drag it across concrete .
Lol
