Indeed... a huge Thank You and the best of all futures to Bruce.
Initial architect of the global cannabis industry will look pretty good on the resume.
Holding the majority. Trimmed on my short term portfolio and rolled some of that into Acreage @ 15.03.

You don't get involved in Gaming and NYC real estate without having relationships with folks in dark places and I don't think they're ready.
John 1311 said a long time ago he would play it as a re-election card and I agree. Also believe like Happyglass that he could have easily done it already but hasn't even though it would create jobs and tax revenue, and in line with his America first policy. Don't see him blocking Satate's Rights but believe it will be difficult legislation for Congress to pass.
My guess is it gets to be a promise if re-elected deal. He gets to play the card without actually doing anything.
Hope I'm wrong.
Me too...
By separating out the Canadian side of the business they could have a positive impact on an otherwise uneventful quarter.
Sooner or later investors are going to like the numbers and outlook. When that happens the stock will go on a tear and anyone on the sidelines gets left behind.
Extended hours run until 8:00 pm. Canopy moving up.
Agree after hours close.
Cannabis being left out of today's rally.
Talked with Tyler during Rivers acquisition.
Believe he was new at the time. Was trying to figure out if Canopy shareholders would be issued shares of Rivers.
Congrats to you both!
Been traveling but I think the debate has clarified the issue.
Thought Bruce had said it would be one possible triggering event. IR may be able to clear it up.
Good points.
That's the geezer talking...
You guy's rolling you're CGC into Acreage have balls... and I hope you all crush it.
More constraints than I expected.
Lol... I'm just trying to figure out how to hold on to my humble accomplishments.
Yup.. Until these companies have an established framework to operate in we're going to be at the mercy of the legislators and those who influence them.
I think that's the story regardless of what country your looking at.
Charting and PPS will become more important down the road as the industry stabilizes. JMO
Agree that the black market will transition those interests into legitimate businesses and that's when political change will follow.
It's good to consider how to use that in our strategy for both protection and gain as I see it potentially delaying the US political timeline.
It seems that would put Acreage at an advantage and it does look like folks have been selling other US cannabis companies and buying Acreage. JMO
We know policy change will open the floodgates in the US and there will be fortunes that will be made as a result. It's all just a matter of positioning yourself in the right companies before that happens.
Great interview and opinion...thanks HG.
To be blunt, NY, NJ and RI have well established black markets.
If they collectively decide Rec isn't going to happen in the region that's probably going to be the outcome.
Considering Trump has long standing connections in NY and NJ, and could have made more progress towards easing the situation for states who have legalized med and/or rec, he hasn't. He's only hinted at a somewhat favorable position while nothing has actually changed.
At some point you have to connect the dots, accept what they indicate and factor that into your investment strategy. JMO
It's a step in the right direction.
Unfortunately it's just a panel and it doesn't really protect banks.
It's all about who controls the politics.
The forces that influence political decision making in NJ, RI & NY, are very well organized.
If you look at the trend of the progression of states that have legalized, they most often share a boarder with one that has passed rec.
That should have made Conn. a slam dunk give our shared boarder with Mass. who has passed rec, the overwhelming support to pass a rec bill by residents and the Governor who needs the revenue.
Except, Conn. also shares a boarder with RI and NY which by coincidence, like NJ, have backed off of rec passage when it looked like it could pass in at least three of the four states in the last legislative session.
For me that's more than just a coincidence and reason to be cautious. I'm less optimistic that the federal Gov. will make any meaningful changes to the existing situation beyond something they can pass to make it appear like they are moving the ball forward.

Would love to be wrong. I expect it will give Acreage an advantage over other US companies as they leverage CGC's knowledge which Bruce believes will be the case.
Added more shares of Acreage.
Always good to add another state until the laws change.
I'll join the indifference camp once that mountain has been conquered.
Connecticut on the sidelines for another year.

Yea it wasn't very long ago.
We were sure it was a slam dunk many months before it happened which is probably why it seems like it's been so much longer.
The sector also sees a massive amount of news which adds to things like political change seeming like it's moving head banging-ly slow.
At times progress seems pretty slow even though we've come a long way.

It's not unusual for stocks that have split to drop slightly and then rise after a short period because they become more "affordable" in the eyes of a buyer.
Acreage shareholders would benefit under that scenario. That's also a big maybe.
HG it was me... splits are self adjusting. It would be illegal if they wern't.
Ex.
2 for 1 split, CGC would produce twice as many shares at half the price.
So Acreage shareholders would get twice as many CGC shares as pre split agreement which automatically offsets that they are now half the value.
Lots of resources on line that you can check. (recommended)
Your past success speaks well. Bought more today. :)
My moves are more adjustments than bold action.
Expect the next biggest moves will be in the US markets. Lots of shoes waiting to drop that could send shares up. Just a matter of when at this point. Can't argue that Acreage is in the sweet spot.
Dude you have one serious set of stones.
Hope you knock it out of the park.
Thanks
Amazing... Fidelity?
There was an article about a year ago when they first found the problem. Glad their getting caught.
Cheers!
The transaction for a split would be "self adjusting".
Even if Canopy were issuing shares to buy Acreage. It could actually work to Acreage shareholders advantage if the split caused a spike in Canopy's stock price after the stock split.
It wouldn't have an effect on a strategy where someone sold Canopy to buy Acreage shares.
Thanks for the link Expresso.
Thought it was interesting that Bruce was hoping it takes a while for the US market to become legal (in some form), as it gives Acreage time to leverage the knowledge it will gain from Canopy to put Acreage further ahead of the US competition when the companies become one.
Interesting didn't know the backstory of Canadian med. Your US observations are spot on imo.
The things we normally can't, or don't want to see like illegal Drug traffickers paying more in federal taxes than what has been suggested the legal market will end up contributing, are the things holding back progress.
Eventually those forces will lose their political grip.
Cannabis is the future and becoming too big to ignore.
Thanks for the update. GLTU
Certainly looks to be the case eventually as long as medical beliefs persist.
One thing this sector has taught us is patience.
GLTU
Lol.....
Thanks for the links DB!
A continuation of states passing medical legislation is what is needed most to go after getting out from under 280e.
So NJ is still in play and important.
Bruce has always said, basically, that medical will be the political entry point globally. Imo, investing accordingly is where the smart money will make it's greatest gains.
