Natcore Technology and Denzo Group Australia have expanded plans for the Bundaberg solar plant in Queensland, increasing the proposed capacity to 58MW from 30MW previously.
The project, to be located in the Wide BayBurnett region of the Australian state, will cover 188 hectares and also have land set aside for a battery storage facility.
Denzo has secured the land and is in advanced negotiations with Powerlink, the transmission owner.
It has also filed a pre-development application to the Bundaberg Regional Council.
Natcore and Denzo plan to form a special purpose vehicle called Clean Holdings Pty to develop the project.
Denzo managing director Ken Mathews said: Our intention is to use Natcores best of breed innovation to produce a working example of the very latest solar generation technology, coupled with the best storage available.
