PotNetwork Holdings is Well Positioned Amid Global Cannabis Industry Growth

Canada legalized recreational cannabis on Oct. 17 last year, with its passage of Bill C-45, more commonly known as the Cannabis Act. Meanwhile, full legalization for cannabis is still a bit unsteady in the U.S., although cannabidiol (CBD) products are currently legal in all 50 states of the country.
According to ArcView Market Research and BDS Analytics, global spending on legal cannabis is projected to reach at least $57 billion by the year 2027, and it’s because there’s clearly a global shift happening with regard to cannabis as a plant and what it can do for us.
Misinformation doomed the plant to an almost century-long prohibition, yet thanks to renewed interest and numerous studies, the recent years have seen a looser grasp on the plant, and it all boils down to one of its compounds.
The said compound, CBD, has proven to be quite useful, widely known for having a wide array of holistic medicinal benefits, such as healing pain, aches, relieving anxiety and even acting as an antidepressant. As a result, CBD single-handedly started an international industry, with companies making everything from candies for you to supplements for your pet.
One such company that took advantage of the opportunity and spearheaded the change is PotNetwork Holdings, Inc. (POTN[OTO] - $0.13 ), a publicly traded company that’s focused on the development, research, and multi-national distribution of premium hemp-derived extracts that contain a wide range of cannabinoids and natural hemp derivatives.
POTN operates as a holding company for its subsidiaries, which include First Capital Ventures, Inc. and Diamond CBD, the leading manufacturer of CBD products in the United States.
As a matter of fact, POTN has managed to consistently top previous years’ sales records through the success of Diamond CBD’s products. POTN also recently engaged law firms to aid in the registration of trademarks and patents, as well as evaluate the feasibility of FDA regulations on its products. The company’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Richard Goulding, will be leading the project with help from the company’s scientific advisory board.
Specializing in research and distribution of innovative CBD hemp extracts, Diamond CBD consists of a team of experts and scientists dedicated to producing only the finest and purest CBD products by way of supercritical CO2 extraction, using pressurized carbon dioxide to “pull” CBD and other compounds from the plant. As a result, Diamond CBD is able to make high-quality CBD products that are easily accessible in the consumer market.
Recently, Diamond CBD’s revenues surpassed $2 million in sales per month. The company was able to drive its revenues up to 639% above 2017’s levels as a result of online sales climbing up to $669,000 last May. Diamond CBD has been able to establish a strong and sizable foothold in the markets for its products, and we think it has the ability to continually grow and expand as a result of crafting products that meet the needs and desires of its customers.
Although much of its focus has been on the United States, the company has already begun making efforts to reach international markets.
One of these efforts was the July 2018 Las Vegas CHAMPS Show, where the company showcased its premium quality CBD products. According to POTN, Diamond CBD scored over $300,000 in sales by the end of the show, successfully drawing the attention of prospective vendors from all around the world.
What’s more, the company also drew international attention last year at the SuperZoo event, the national show for pet retailers, when it exhibited its MediPets product line. A CBD line for pets, it garnered interest from over 200 new wholesale distributors well suited to carry the brand internationally at the 2018 Global Pet Expo. Leading research firms expect this specific section of the industry to grow significantly, and MediPets offers retailers an early head start by giving them the chance to take part in this global trend.
A global opportunity
Cannabis companies have seen extreme growth in a short amount of time, driven by legislation that has opened commercial doors. Which country is best positioned to drive sustainable, long term growth?
With medical use approved since 2001, and national legislation for recreational use passed in 2018, Canada clearly has a head start. But exporting around the world poses a few problems, with shipping sure to increase production cost. Additionally, Canada has a climate that is less desirable for cannabis production, making the U.S. and Europe more favorable for investors. And while cannabis legalization is still unclear in the U.S., the industry already has gained a solid footing in the country.
In addition, more and more millennials are investing in legal marijuana stocks, adding to the growth. Indeed, the cannabis movement is a recreational, medical and global phenomenon. And there’s no question that it has become one of the most significant opportunities of this generation and the next.
