Hopefully we don’t have to wait until Valentine’s Day. That’s a holiday perker hasn’t used yet
Friday’s news wasn’t scary to me. How’s it’s done. Actually glad to see it come thru. Put both hands in the air.
They have been using the term “spectrum of risk” for a coupe years now.
mogen David?
Ding!!!
Zzzzz Parkher exists. Never mind. I’m wasting my fingers
Lol. Ding!
Vuse was last to markets. It’s #1. Not for long!
Xxii tech, IMO, will enable big biz to make rules around what is allowed and not allowed on the market in the future. If I was a big boy that’s where I would see the value.
I could influence policy and create a barrier to entry for smaller companies. All the while making my product uniform across the globe.
JFM — most actual retail people who invest in this stock haven’t a clue of what its truly about. I am pretty convinced of that.
They need to know what the nicotine level is before they would want to act right?
If fda tried to mandate anything below 0.4, if I were Big T I would fight hard. A 0% nicotine cig will go nowhere and cause black markets.
If smoking causes $300B in illness, even lowering nicotine to 2.4mg in cigs shows a 25% decrease in cigs smokes. At that point can we not say that eventually $75B of that $300B In smoking illness will go away? I know it’s not a 1 to 1 but there’s gotta be a bench.
In the end I foresee a 2.4 - .4 mg mandated and come into play between 5-10 years. This will allow the MJ market to develop and give lawmakers back the tax money they will lose from tobacco. I think higher nicotine products will be taxed much higher and perhaps sold in specific stores.
Anti tobacco people are hitting them at the local levels and it working. Big T got shelling in Minneapolis I believe.
This is PMs chance to change its corporate image. Less harmful and CLEAN MJ products with medicinal benefits would make PM shine as millennials gain more money power and political power. I’m sure they see it if I do, hopefully they won’t drop the ball. I stress CLEAN products. They start putting dirty crap in the products and they go right back to where they are now.
Just my 2 cents.
Anyone else find it interesting that the FDA NEJM study used a 0.4mg nicotine XXII cig as the lowest study cig, yet XXII chose 0.04mg and 0.2mg nicotine for their brand (magic)?
Why in the figgityfaq would they do that?
Test market? Launch with an expected failure?
Sure seems like it.
I wonder who got to pick the time slots and networks?
Surely Big T has relations with an entity that works with the big networks that could help them secure the adequate time slots?
Put the ads after the ads with pharma products with side effect lists through the roof or after a diabetes/obesity/heart disease ad.
Cause well... We all gonna die of something.
Smart man
Lol Docc.
A batting average can’t be negative right?
Can you say “barrier to entry”?
Hemp is a crop, but CBD is a schedule 1 drug.... and it shouldn’t be.
There is no king to stand in the way of hemp.
Just a king to be made.
Waiting for either DEA or XXII to drop a bomb for us via hemp.
Tick tock.
$5+
Now everyone hold your breath. I’ll be back next year.
So you’re holding the party when XXII rallies then right?
I’ll be bringing the tobacco and alcohol...and children.
Never mandate fully (since I have now defined what fully mandate means in my head).
If it does happen and I wrong, I expect 10+ years from now.
UNLESS MJ is legalized and handed over to BT
Should we make all beer non alcoholic? Because kids can obtain that and become alcoholics while still in school?
Better take scope off the market. Kids use it to get drunk.
Better take Pizza Hut day and the candy cart away from them too. They can get addicted to sugar and get fat and die.
We must protect the young and dumb. Thank god I had all those people around me smacking those cigs out of my hand. It takes a village.
The only way I can see a full blown VLN mandate for all cigs is if MJ is legalized and given to Big T like vape was (on a silver platter).
The govt is addicted to the tobacco tax money. A VLN mandate with nothing to offset the tax loss would be stupid on the govt part
If they mandate VLN in all cigs nobody will actually smoke them.
IMO I would imagine cig companies will negotiate to supply a VLN in each major brand with a lower tax.
Conventional cigs will be priced and taxed a lot higher than they are now and possibly only get them at certain stores.
Making vapor the obvious choice for most consumers.
FDA wins, Big T wins, consumers have choice.
Unfortunately that won’t happen until PM gets their IQOS out on the market and well into consumers hands before Brand A ever gets a final nod.
Just my opinion. Hope I am wrong
Full mandate = making combustible cigs only available in VLN
Who’s naive? Young kids are taught in 1st grade nicotine is addictive and habit forming.
Why should an 18 year old (with no ties to you) making a personal choice to vape anger you?
I met a girl just the other day who was vaping 0%. She said she buys 0% nicotine because her friend vapes and she doesn’t want to be left out but she doesn’t want the nicotine.
Why do people feel the need to handhold 15% of the population while the other 85% can use their own judgement to make proper decisions?
Ah yes let’s get someone from the trustworthy pharma industry to tell us how bad another industry is. You know, cause it’s not pharma products that is creeping into the educated suburban households, getting their consumers hooked and destroying families and lives...!
Now let’s be honest here...
Without vape being in play we would have never gotten the July 28 lifeline. Smoking is a choice. If vaping leads to smoking that’s where VLN should catch the ones that turn to combustible. I doubt a full VLN mandate would ever take place, but hopefully tax incentives used would discourage people to move from vapes to combustibles.
FDA should be striving to make sure the right options are in consumers faces, but they shouldn’t stop products from being in front of consumers faces altogether. Only bad ripple effect repercussions come from that.
We can only go by the past. All xxii has to do is prove me wrong.
Will they?
I’m skeptical for now.
Personally I was hoping for a cigarette that offered a small buzz but was below “addiction threshold” but I am not sure that exists.
Addiction threshold is pretty subjective. What’s the current avg content of cigs right now? That’s been my addiction threshold.
;)
I’m talking about nicotine content more than taste. Nobody is smoking a VLN unless they are trying to quit or want to smoke a cig for first time without worry of addiction.
I buzz very easily off nicotine. I didn’t feel a thing. A lot of people start smoking cause they want that buzz. What’s the point without the buzz!?
Pump the stock so we can make some $$ again
There is absolutely no way the VLN cigarette I tried will ever get 10% of the market lol. Just buy cig paper and put leaves in there and smoke it
Same thing was said about China in 2014 ??
Running 100 cases of some no name Filtered cigar then changing over and running a different brand for 100 cases will ensure they never make the plant profitable. CM is only good unless you can charge a high mfg price (not the case here) or if you have long runs on items (again not common in CM). A CM company gets the shit runs the main mfg doesn’t want to do cause it hurts productivity
If XXII goes it alone in cig world we will all lose out money
