This action raises 2.9 M CDN, at roughly the going pps.
They need a lot more than that.
However, the positive reinforcement to all of us is the real great news. SPORT is the real deal.
Now, what NEEDS TO BE DONE, is for whoever does Titan PR (your job can't get any easier!)
GET THIS F'ING NEWS OUT THERE as creatively and aggressively as you can!! PLEASE!!!
This has to be played up, big-time. By itself, it will not move the pps needle very much. Sorry, but that is the situation. Titan remains off the radar, otherwise it wouldn't be valued as it is.
Please note: concerning haptic feedback.
Senhance does have haptic feedback, but lets be specific. From the videos I have seen the haptic feedback is for push and sideways contact, of the effector stick. The long thin straight stick thing. Longterm can tell us, since I haven't followed Senhance and already wasted too much time in Titan hell: does Senhance have haptic feedback at the effector level? Answer: No. That it does is what a lot of people probably think.
Please correct me if I am wrong. What they have is something that daVinci should have by now, but it is not the holy grail of physician feels touch at the effector contact point.
So I don't think haptics is going to revolutionize the surgeon experience when using Senhance in its current generation. A hell of a lot better than nothing, but not a game changer for competition with ISRG. Someone did point out that many injury claims have been made against daVinci-users for excessive force misapplication. In that regard I think Senhance's haptics will allow for safer straight stick work.
Again, IMO; correct me if I am wrong.
Longterm,
Can you tell us what activity there is going on, or planned, to further develop the Senhance system?
I can only imagine that it is not a frozen device platform, and that there is money and engineering going into continuous development.
Who is doing that, still the Europeans, Transenterix, academic centers??
Save your money.
HC, you are absolutely correct! Hope you are reinvesting. People give you a lot of crap but you have been pretty much right all along.
I don't care what raises the pps of Titan, short of outright fraud.
I want to make some money on this 5-year pain in the ass. If Senhance really isn't that good compared to upcoming systems, so be it. People will find out soon enough. The point is we need a freakin' ARMS RACE to put Titan out there in the investor conscience. Conditions are perfect: ISRG has an unliked monopoly; we are ahead of the competition in terms of timeframe, except for Senhance which we feel is not too good and will raise interest in the sector. This is the PERFECT SITUATION to get the GD pps up before any split! Investors (which we need) are not all medical experts. Invest at your own risk.
Senhance is perfect because collectively we think it is already not what the market wants. Now, if they improve it, well that's a different story.
Like I've said many, many times, Titan has been far to righteous since the days of Fowler, Hargrove, and Rayman. The three stooges in my book. We need gamesmanship and as good as McNally appears to be, he needs a little more.
McNally, keep the INFORMATION and PR coming, even if it is not earth shattering. Jump on the TRXC news bandwagon. Please.
If and when they announce FDA/CE submission, the pps will go off the charts, especially if they present themselves as the alternative to ISRG. Hopefully still the only one at that time.
In the meantime I sincerely believe, all the good news in the world (if we continue to go it alone), will not get us over 2.50/sh. Our current price is so eroded, corroded, kicked to the curb, and diluted that only literally waiting for the approval letter from FDA will be the speculative gamble which will drive investors to price up drastically TO REALISTIC LEVELS FOR ONCE.
Speaking from experience, my large academic medical center could easily spend a year in pre-purchase decision making and planning for a system like SPORT, no matter how badly the surgeons wanted it.
Even if the money is there.
Medical Devices board submission, budget/fiscal year planning, biomedical approval, price negotiation, OR retrofitting, Info Systems planning, data security, infection control review, cleaning protocols, storage plans, training protocols for any level of staff that will near SPORT, business plan for implementation/use, nursing planning, negotiation for parts/disposables/stocking....
It's enough to make your head spin now. Doesn't matter if it is a new MRI machine or an infusion pump. They can spend a year picking out new hospital bed mattresses.
It will be a while before sales will start moving. Just to warn you all. The bureaucratic inertia is massive and getting bigger all the time. Ask any medical sales person who has been around for 10-20 years.
Agree that most of TRXC PR is garbage, but it has contributed to them being able to maintain a pps through thick and thin.
This could have also been done at Titan (we begged for it), but we've always had a crew that's been a bit to "righteous". You might commend them on that account, but there is something to be said for:
Gamesmanship - the art of winning games by using various ploys and tactics to gain a psychological advantage
Titan has NEVER had it. Unfortunately, for us.
You guys are freaking over tenths of a cent on a 20 cent stock that you reasonably expect to be worth 5 to 100 dollars in a couple years........... relax ............. plenty to worry about with Titan besides that.
Don't know about it being a great day, but this pps behavior for Titan is completely standard for this stock.
Look at the 1 and 3 year charts. This fall is just the regular noise after a significant increase.
Yea, we all begged them to get off the shit-kicker Canadian exchange back then, but I suspect Hargrove and Randall were in their pocket, so to speak.
Remember the infamous grinning clueless interview by Hargrove.
You all want the pps to continue riding organically?
The best way to do it is McNally starts talking about FDA submission, when, where, and how. He mentions it every chance he gets.
Oh, and one other thing, he talks about Titan being the only general surgery competitor to ISRG, anytime in the near future.
If I'm not mistaken, SPORT's IREP platform technology was developed at Columbia. There have got to be PLENTY of Columbia connections (engineering) that will be re-tuned into what Titan is doing. Likely mentions in Columbia's internal PR publications. Good all around.
As I've said, haptics adds enormous complexity, if even possible soon in anything other than rudimentary forms.
I'm not even sure it is practically feasible with current technology.
Senhance has it 'to some degree' in their straight stick system. That's because the straight stick can be instrumented at the non-patient end with force transducers that can relay back through the computer to activate motion drivers in the handsets. I doubt very much that Senhance has haptics at the effector level. Since SPORT is flexible arms, sensing any force on them is more difficult at all levels. It enormously complicates the cassette multi-use effector design.
If you view a youtube of a Senhance haptics demo
Also, veiled reference to deficiencies of the ONLY other robotic surgical system he could have used. He made a few digs at ISRG, no doubt.
Hitting 0.10 is certainly possible without strong positive news at least every two weeks. Titan has sat for months at times dead stagnant. I do believe we have FINALLY turned the corner with potential for actual organic interest and pps rise, but the Titan story ("in testing right now and on the way to FDA/CE submission within x months") MUST be the first thing McNally talks about. The first thing. All the time. Not the benefits of MIS surgery, or our ergonomics or surgeon input,or even the potential market. The story coming out from Titan MUST BE that we are on the final stretch to submission for commercial approval AS THE ONLY GENERAL SURGERY COMPETITOR TO ISRG CLOSE TO MARKET REALITY.
It is now time for McNally to sell Titan on the real chance of profit potential for investors. Sorry Fowler if that seems low-class, but we need money to bring this thing home now, not never-ending perfection for the moment.
I know I always harp on this, and I know a lot of people think LinkedIn sucks and has run its course, but please Paige Hargrove show some integrity and stop showing as a Titan V.P. Hope you're doing well, invested in Titan, and tell daddy hello for us, but please update your CV.
If ISRG has been unaware of these developments with Titan they must have their heads up their ass. Maybe (hopefully) they are big but stupid from growing up as a monopoly from day 1.
Regardless, expect ISRG now to begin countering the potential competition Titan represents somewhere within the next two years.
Too much dilution, that's why.
There are people with enough shares to make some chump change on a few pennies up and down.
There is just way too many shares out there.
News like today should have blown the roof off of the price. But price rise is damped out because supply is just too high.
The only solution is too over-excite the market into frenzy-buying. That means continuing great PR has to come out like we had today.
Let's face it, 20 cent stocks get overlooked by a lot of people. Still going to be a long, long slog to respectability.
I think the technology is looking great though, fortunately. That couldn't be looking better.
I also think haptics is not going to be there for this generation SPORT; that's a difficult technology to implement at this scale and for such delicate, small, contact forces and motions. FDA approval of haptics is going to be rough for the first companies to do it.
Of course, Surgibot had it. LOL!
Looked up that there Titan Medical company on LinkedIn since it's such a HOT PLAY right now!!!!
Think I'll give this little chickee a buzz on the hotline...
Paige Hargrove
Vice President, Business Development & Worldwide Sales
Titan Medical Inc
April 2014 – Present (3 years 6 months)
See if I can charm her a bit and get some pretential sales info for Y'all!
BUY!! BUY!! BUY!! THIS BABYS GOING TO THE MOON!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes he did.
We will finally see some ORGANIC recognition of the SPORT potential raising the pps. Eyes will finally remain focused on the NEXT BIG robotic surgical play.
ISRG will be countering soon.
My wife fortunately has just learned to not ask me. I'd be VERY tempted to cash out if breakeven is even remotely "stalled". Like I said though, that point is still 1083 positive percentage points in the future... maybe.
Can't wait for the day I am one cent in the black with Titan!
Only need a 1038% rise in the pps!
More like the Sport system was FINALLY rolled into the room and they connected the power cord. Sheesh!!!
An MRI system gets 'installed', not a cart on wheels.
Good news, and happy for the update, but c'mon!
Thanks. Don't know what your sources are, but if true, makes me feel a whole lot better.
A small video clip would be helpful McNally.
BECAUSE MAYBE THE POTENTIAL INVESTORS DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ROBOTIC SURGERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT'S CALLED 'EYE CANDY'!
NO GAMESMANSHIP WITH THIS CREW!!!!
Like I said Mustang, "NO GAMESMANSHIP!" from this outfit. Ever. Never.
We need an Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Donald Trump, Larry Ellison, Sergy Brin, Larry Page, even a Mark Zuckerburg would do. Or the guy from Transenterix.
Have we reached out to any major corporations? Philips, Siemens, IBM, Samsung, GE.
No, we're playing it straight - right into the ground.
NO GAMESMANSHIP!!!!
Starting with Hargrove and continuing under McNally.
Titan is not a medical engineering firm, never was. Hopefully we have the engineers and programmers and design consultants covered, as needed.
The purpose of Titan management is to SELL THE SHOW, SOLICIT THE MONEY SO THAT THE REAL CREATORS OF SPORT AND ITS IP CAN MOVE TOWARDS A MARKETABLE PRODUCT!!!
One damn professional video could put us on the map for investment opportunity. McNally yakking away with another 190 companies with stale donuts, cold coffee, a memory stick, and sweaty vinyl seats won't do it. He should be on a first name basis BOTHERING Samsung, IBM, St. Jude Medical, etc.. with monthly phone calls. That's what we need!
When your losses are about 95%, it doesn't make sense to not roll the dice once more. I can live without the 5% just fine.
Been in this fiasco for 4 years. That has never happened.
Look at the one year chart. Anything less than 20 cents is for all practical purposes noise.
If the market doesn't think the next surgical competitor to the DaVinci monopoly, thoughtfully designed with surgeon's input, being actively tested at a major center, aiming for FDA submission within 1 year, and that can be had for 10 cents a share, isn't worth a reasonable bet, then I have to take it that there is some glaring problem with this story.
McNally NEVER counted on this comatose state that NO ONE can explain. We would be better off with him doing the biggest song and dance, snake oil salesman's pitch that this world has ever seen, not crickets as usual.
The next show he's going to has hundreds of companies presenting; did you see the list? He's grasping at straws now.
IMO, Titan will be sold off at a price where he can cover his own ass; that's about it.
“Versius will launch in Europe next year, following in other markets around the world shortly after,” Frost continued. “Five years from now, we hope to be one of the largest surgical robot companies internationally with a robot in every major hospital.”
Just hired their 100th employee, apparently.
http://cmedrobotics.com/
Nice website. Titan better get moving.
Story from Fox News home page. Nice exposure.
Not feeling too confident, gentlemen.
Agree.
Announcement of submission, or partnership with MAJOR technology firm is all we've got to hope for.
Otherwise, fire sale in parts or whole.
Zzzzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzz
zzzzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..........
So f*ing what?! I'm sick of all these experts we employ. And Jasminder is the IP wizard and yada, yada, yada.
Why don't we find a competent CFO?? How about that for news???
They need a MASSIVE PR push, starting with a professionally produced video outlining Titan and the current state of SPORT.
They should let the video go out on the web.
They need a "Is Titan the next ISRG?" article in a MAJOR financial publication. Try WSJ Technology section.
They need to AGRESSIVELY SHOP/FLOAT the idea that they may be looking for a MAJOR PARTNERSHIP, with an IBM, SAMSUNG, GE, St. JUDE, etc.. They need companies to worry about their competitors going to get the jump with SPORT if they do not.
If McNally is not at least casually talking to these companies and getting them to think about if/how they can enter this technology space, that is a BIG MISTAKE.
I thought we had a PR firm and a group that was managing financing?
With the level of PR we receive from Titan I STILL THINK OF THEM as a MOM AND POP SHOP running out of an empty office in TORONTO.!!!!!
JEEZUS CHRIST, will the MYSTERY of this outfit ever end???
McNally, why are we at 10 cents? If you don't know, find someone who does - PLEASE!!!
Sounds like a bad joke now, dude. Just stow it.
Absolutely true, but I don't think that's going to speed up anything now. By virtue of the last 4+ years financial situation, SR should have been replaced.
We also have PR companies on the payroll, but are constantly out PR'd.
Yea, well I'd just like to see the first SPORT unit that can do the job, BY GETTING INTO THE MARKET!!!!!
Read up on the technology. Then, apply that to the surgical field. Then design an effective way to let the surgeon sense it through the hand controllers. Make that all failsafe, and demonstrably effective. Add two years to SPORT rollout.
Hopefully it won't be so that they can edit the 80 to 160. Ha!
