.. I got stopped out of my SMH long this morning for a 23c gain. Had a nice entry on the 6/7 day low. Pity I switched from day to swing trading... I would have made a lot more money (lol).

.. In addition to your comments.. notice the 6/7 day touched the lower trendline.. until now only the 14 day or 5 week low would get down that low. Also..the behavior of SMH around the FED announcement screamed "nervous investors", lots of turbulence.. lots of volume.

.. The SMH components also paint a confusing picture.. with INTC's 30 minute chart heading downward after a weak attempt at a rally yesterday.. TXN's 30 minute headed downward to the moving average and is poised to drop. AMAT right now appears to be the only major SMH component capable of a (limited) rally.

..It's possible SMH might make one more rally before the 10-week low, but I think the odds are against it.

.. look at a 5 min chart for INTC, TXN, AMAT, ALTR, etc... sticks out like a sore thumb

So the Fed didn't raise rates and the market's up because..

(1) they expect "below trend growth for the next 1 1/2 years"
(translation - the economy's heading into the crapper)
(2) they're not sure what effect 17 straight rate hikes
will have on the economy (duh)
(3) and they may still have to raise rates due to the distinct
possibility that inflation is not yet contained

IMO.. SMH is headed back down to 29

.. was long SMH @ average 31.46 & put a stop loss at 31.56 once we got to 31.63

.. watched it trade down to my stop... was trading at 31.56 for several minutes...order is still open

.. then trading at 31.55 for a couple of minutes.. still no fill...WTF !??

.. cancelled the order and sold at 31.54 to hit the bid (saw it had enough volume to fill my order )

.. I'm becoming convinced these $8 trades are really not worth the risk when they consistently trade through my order )
