Life expectancy has dropped because of antibiotic resistance, says ONS

Like the Old Testament, very interesting ... if true.
Agreed. Besides there's a stampede underway to find a p53 Magic Bullet.
If "Innovation" is a terrible name perhaps JNJ would have benefitted from your insights.

I've been meaning to post this for sometime: the improvement in the IPIX website, the change in name from CTIX and the blog are all aimed at supporting any internal presentations that might be in the works at BPs.
Although the science is super-important big decisions in BPs are made at the highest level (BofD, Executive Committee) and those are not staffed exclusively (or maybe mainly) by scientists.
Kudos to the writers of this and other blog posts. Those well-written posts will surely be used to develop the in-house presentations needed to support big-dollar commitments at a BP.
(Surely, no one thought they were prepared for us lowly retail investors.)
A great post!
Thanks for your cleverness in enticing those mother and daughter responses.
Many thanks for confirming my guess that suture coating could be a potential app for Brilacidin.
I learned from my time at JNJ that Ethicon was one of their most profitable subsidiaries. Perhaps that would whet their appetite for partnership/acquisition.
"Tape Frozen @ .75. Has IPIX gone private ?"
Or at IPIX request trading has been suspended because announcement pending?
Thanks for that important reminder.
Too many people on this site keep hoping for big news at some conference.
Not. Going. To. Happen.
(If something big is said in a speech it would be preceded by a public PR released before the market opens.)
Many thanks for the clarification.
In your experience might the BPs routinely insist that an agreement include a "stand fast" provision, forbidding principals in the smaller company from buying or selling stock in their own company as long as the agreement is in force?
Some posters have criticized IPIX management for not buying more shares in the open market and it occurred to me that they might have contractual restrictions precluding any changes in holdings.
The quality of this presentation you posted is remarkable.

Also remarkable as you pointed out is the "coincidence" of JNJ use of "innovation" in their recent (?) announcement of interest in collaboration.
https://www.jnjinnovation.com/
Something going on?
That is one powerful presentation.
IMO the effort that went into it hints that something big may be in the works.
I don't know the terms of the CDAs and neither does anyone else on this board but if I were with a BP negotiating with IPIX (or any small biotech)I would have required a "hold fast" provision for principal executive/shareholders: no selling and no buying as long as the CDA was in force.
I am not predicting anything but if a CEO is in actual discussions re a takeover by a larger company or a partnership or other major undertaking his lawyers would advise him not to enlarge his stock holdings while those secret talks are underway.
Several paragraph breaks would have made your (important) post a lot more readable.
Thanks for doing that research.
This is exceptional news today. World-wide distribution. Surprised there is not more interest from shareholders. With the increased commitment in terms of distribution and co-marketing from Fresenius, I'm expecting an announcement about a co-development deal that will cover the costs of the sepsis clinical trial in the US later on.
This ancient holder agrees.

Could It Be Sepsis? C.D.C. Wants More People to Ask

Every time a serious scientist or a senior executive joins our little company he/she is betting on its future with much more at stake to them personally than anyone investing in stock.
So, while some continue to fuss over day-to-day stock prices and volumes I consider any single new hire where a highly competent person bets on Cellceutix's future of much greater significance.
Also Christopher Cramer, CTSO's VP in charge of Business Development was hired from J&J.
If he left on good terms that could be yuge plus.
One major complication is what's in any prospective deal for the two major principals, Ehrlich and Menon.
Yes, they're major shareholders and thus would be paid for their stock but what about their future employment?
In any prospective deal they would be negotiating "for" us shareholder and "for" their own personal futures.
Possibilities:
Major execs in the acquiring company?
Or in a re-structured Cellceutix?
Juicy "consultant" contracts?
Goodbye, but with with a "golden handshake"?

One of the basics of effective advertising: repetition.
Because it is wrong to assume everyone in the universe has already read it.
This stock will not explode if it doesn't attract a horde of new investors.
End the Sepsis Scandal
The Daily Mail is going all out on sepsis, running a series of articles and demanding action.

When the stock market hands you lemons, make a lemonade-flavored pill. That is one option for drugmakers, who can use the gloom around biotech stocks to their advantage.

A Portable Blood Cleanser for Treating Sepsis
Harvard researchers have developed a machine that can filter pathogens from the blood and offers hope for faster, more effective treatment for sepsis.
By Mike Orcutt on September 18, 2015
Why It Matters
There are 18 million reported cases of sepsis in the world each year, and one in three patients dies from complications.
A portable machine that can treat sepsis by filtering pathogens from blood is nearing the point where it could be ready for human clinical testing.
Recent tests in rats have shown that the device—which works in a similar way to the dialysis machines already used to filter the blood of patients with kidney failure—not only efficiently removes pathogenic material from the bloodstream but also works in concert with antibiotics to prevent a harmful immune response that can lead to organ malfunction and even death.
The project, led by researchers at Harvard University’s Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, is part of an effort by the U.S. defense department to design a portable machine for treating soldiers in the field. But sepsis is not just a problem in war zones. There is currently no effective therapy, and the disorder kills millions of people around the world every year.

My Times comment mentioned that owned Cellceutix stock.
Do I get a prize for telling the Times readers that it was not privately owned and that they could invest too ... and for today's little pop?
