Over the next couple of weeks, the Sacromento, CA based company will change the link of their 2D barcode to fresh content from VidCon, the sold-out annual YouTube conference in Los Angeles, July 28-30.
Neustar managed barcodes allow the destination to be changed easily
versus having to update your website or reprint materials as
you would with a direct barcode. In addition, Neustar barcodes
allow the coordination of campaigns across multiple providers
and the inclusion of meta data for a much more relevant,
targeted experience.

Yes, and certainly not old news. The patent was confirmed the 2nd time around. Solid as a rock. No wonder somebody out there are desperately trying to make Neom's patent appear worthless. They failed twice on getting the PTO to change its mind about the patent.
True. People don't realized that the floodgate has FINALLY now been opened. If they thought .16 was high, they haven't seen anything yet.
Sickening to watch but happy at the same time. Oh well...
Watching all this, too. I could barely find your name amid the sea of newbies.
And the significance of that re-exam termination?
"QR code adoption in North America is now going ballistic."
Research and Markets: QR Codes - What You Need to Know Q2 2011: Start Paying Attention to QR Codes as Use and Adoption in America Jumped 1200% in the Last Six Months of 2010
It is no wonder so many of today's top brands are using QR codes. These include GMC, Ford, Google, Pepsi, Ralph Lauren, The Weather Channel, Best Buy, Chevrolet, Starbucks, Facebook, and countless more.
Over the last several years, one of the drawbacks to using QR codes was user awareness and adoption, but that is rapidly changing. According to a February 2011 report by Mobio Identity Systems, Inc., an international mobile payments and marketing company, QR code adoption in North America is now going ballistic. Use and adoption on the continent jumped 1200% in the last six months of 2010.
But you don't need market research to tell you that. All you have to do is look around. Not just what you see around (have you been to Best Buy lately?), but marketing firms around the country are regularly hailing 2010 as the year that QR code usage turned the corner.
Many of these companies are seeing QR code marketing among their clients double or even triple. Trekk-Cross Media, which was responsible for NewPage's ubiquitous QR campaign at DSCOOP, is seeing a surge in QR adoption among its clients. The Ace Group, which has produced QR campaigns for the likes of Calvin Klein and SunTrust, saw its QR adoption increase threefold by the end of 2010.

If you read the comments (http://adage.com/article/digital/qr-codes-gaining-prominence-macy-s-buy-post/149474/) below the article, who is Ronan Higgins?
It will also be hard to miss the codes in the cereal aisle, with Post's Honey Bunches of Oats adding them to more than 12 million boxes. The brand is banking on QR codes as the primary distribution vehicle for "Honey & Joy," a web-based sitcom that will premiere exclusively on Jesta Digital's mobile-web platform BitBop. Katie Lay, Honey Bunches of Oats' brand manager, cited research that showed the demand for QR-code experimentation outstripping the supply, particularly among the cereal's target audience of women ages 25 to 54. The brand found that a third of its target is looking for the codes, Ms. Lay said.
But even as the codes catch on, there's still a long way to go for them to have the kind of broad-scale adoption that major brands expect out of their marketing vehicles. And marketers are well aware, the campaigns are not foolproof. Poor internet connection, slow load times and outdated phones all contribute to an inconsistent experience for consumers. Persuading consumers to download mobile apps that can scan codes has been another major obstacle for QR-code campaigns, said Laura Marriott, CEO NeoMedia, a QR agency and tech company. That's assuming consumers already know what to do when they see the codes. And then there's the fact QR codes can seem like a hassle -- any extra step a campaign requires typically reduces response rates.
For those reasons, Julie Ask, VP-principal analyst at Forrester Research, says there's no rush when it comes to 2-D bar codes, though the environment is ripe for experimentation. "It's interesting. It's growing. And the analytics are good," she said. "There's no doubt that people are going to use their phones to engage more with the physical world. But there's a lot of different ways you can do that. ... Marketers are still mostly in the experiment stage and learning."
That made me chuckle. Thanks.
Heh. eom.
le-bon ton-roule, yes, pretty much that. From the page of Neoreader on mobile phones with auto-focus and about iPhones:
On iPhone question:
2. Why can I not scan product 1D barcodes with my iPhone?
The first version of the iPhone cannot scan 1D barcodes found on most consumer products, including books (i.e. UPC, ISBN, EAN, and JAN barcodes) because the iPhone‘s camera does not focus well enough to allow these types of barcodes to be scanned.
iPhone 3G, 3Gs & 4 are now able to scan these product barcodes.
5. What kind of codes can I read with NeoReader?
2D barcodes like Data Matrix, QR code and Aztec code can be read by the NeoReader application.
Universal Product Codes (UPC), better known as barcodes and found on most consumer products, can not be scanned by all mobile phones because the phone’s camera does not focus well enough to allow these types of barcodes to be scanned. To scan UPC codes, we recommend you use mobile phones with auto-focus.
Ditto, so have I. I've scanned UPC and EAN barcodes with Neoreader. Who else can do this?
