Definitely in breakout territory - now for some pocket pivots to keep the good times rollin'...
Yahoo Finance has a Book Value of $7.45
Volume has been good, but no pocket pivots recorded since down day on Feb 12. Be nice to see some PPs as the recent cup pattern breakout materializes further.
That was a great time to buy at 25 cents. With a book value north of 7 bucks, doubt we will see a buying opportunity like that again.
So earnings are probably next week then...
Cup pattern breakout is 4.25+ - need volume to continue its push higher. Like to see more Pocket Pivots.
A little bit of volume kicking in last couple days (and both up days), with a pocket-pivot on the chart yesterday. Wonder if something is up...
good info - thanks
Gilbert buys Detroit riverfront land with bankruptcy creditor in quiet $5 million sale
vociferous to describe Syncora... seems like Syncora made out okay with Detroit bankruptcy proceedings (guess squeaky wheel gets the grease)
it was a head turner - thanks
exciting times for Syncora
My guess is Syncora will be sold prior to the start of the next hurricane season (why take any chances...). They are primed for a sale prior to June 1 IMO.Technically, Syncora broke out from a long consolidation at 3.89 and then more recently at 4.15, but waiting on volume to confirm.
I do not see any upside resistance, unless you go back 10 years (and that is a long time ago). What we need is nice moves up on above average volume, that is, lots of "big boy" buyers!
The Bollinger Bands Bandwidth is at the lowest since mid-July and April. Looking for a Bollinger Bands Squeeze on big, big volume. We are above traditional consolidation breakout point, but yet to see big volume to propel us up and away.
Right, would be a very prudent move to take full advantage of those valuable NOLs!
Excellent CC! Looks like by next quarter we will know the game plan going forward. Selling the company is most likely IMO. They've been getting all their ducks-in-row for such a move. Getting ahead of myself, but we may want to think about our tax consequences in '19 - but that would be a blessing :)
Sounds reasonable - thanks
Let's make a deal prior to next hurricane season.
hmm... Principal gets paid by Macquarie settlement - what do others think?
With the settlement in place, what's the logical next move for Syncora?
so the 6.03 BV does not include 38 million settlement...
How much do you think Syncora will receive (ballpark figure)?
In 2019, I believe Syncora will be sold, merge, or move to the Nasdaq or Big Board (ordered by most to least probable). An early New Year's prediction from this humble poster.
I agree with rock: after low-end for American Roads, not getting my hopes up too much. Good discussion guys. Stock responded with a good gain on high volume. Perhaps we will hear settlement details prior to market open on Monday.
We all have been very blessed with our Syncora holdings. Our patient-endurance has definitely paid off (Big League)!
High volume on an up day when market is down is great to see! We are definitely in breakout territory from the base we have been in all year. Was waiting for volume to kick in...
Pocket Pivot today nice to see, too! Like to see a Pocket Pivot above 3.89!
3.89 is the old high - break above old high and there is no upside resistance, plus it would be breakout from the consolidation we have been in all year. Big upside volume above 3.89 might make for a strong rally! Very nice to see all the volume of late - obviously the "big boys" are getting interested in stock.
Big trades in PREPA bonds at 65!
Anything in particular standout, or pretty much as expected with reinsurance deal decreasing book value? Wonder if earnings call will contain any nuggets...
Good for PR bonds: 'below-normal' 2018 Atlantic hurricane season is now expected
If you had to pick one thing Denny, what was the most significant thing you heard/learned at the meeting?
excellent info, thanks Denny!
Definitely nice to see more volume in today's action. Be nice to breakout of the consolidation we have been in for the entire year, breaking above the high of 3.89 on intense volume would be sweet!
Hope when Syncora sells itself (inevitable in this humble poster's opinion), we receive top dollar, unlike the American Roads deal, which was middle-of-the-road value IMO.
Up, up and away this morning...

thanks for info Denny!
It's happening. Have you checked PREPA prices lately...

Probably going to be a snoozer of a meeting anyway.
What's next? Anyone going to meeting tomorrow?
Today's action: 10 cent pop is nice on high volume, but finished low in the day's trading range. Could be someone knows something, or someone just wanted to get in big time. Could be price was manipulated up and then shorts took positions. The big thing is the book value is about 8 and we are trading at about 3 bucks. Can't see a lot of downside with those numbers, plus Puerto Rico bonds continue to recover. slowly but moving up.
thanks for that info, oldhamtrader!
Thanks for the info, Denny. How much do you think Syncora could receive from MacQuarie? I forgot: what does Syncora have American Roads valued on their books? Thinking deal should at least push book value north of 8 bucks a share.
7.91 book value on Yahoo Finance
Denny or anyone else, do you know what percentage of income American Roads earns on the toll bridge that the proposed Orange Beach bridge might compete against?
Syncora appears to be extremely strong financial shape! :)
