SI in molasses mode.
I found the perfect long. The chart is actually very bullish. Very nice bull flag. But you have to read the business profile from yahoo. The stock has gone up some 20% since march with having *no* business and *no* business prospects.

Clarus Corporation is in transition. The Company previously developed, marketed and supported Internet-based business-to-business e-commerce solutions that automate the procurement, sourcing and settlement of goods and services. In December 2002, the Company sold substantially all of the operating assets related to its software business. Clarus is pursuing an asset redeployment strategy in which it will use its cash and cash equivalents to acquire or merge with an operating business that will serve as a platform company, enhancing future growth and shareholder value. The Company is actively seeking to acquire one or more established businesses and is not targeting specific industries.
Clarus Corporation has no business operations and is seeking potential acquisition and merger candidates. It was formerly a provider of e-commerce business solutions until the sale of its assets in 12/02. For the three months ended 3/31/03, revenues fell 99% to $53 thousand. Net loss fell 63% to $2.4 million. Revenues reflect the sale of substantially all operating assets. Lower loss reflects the absence of marketing expenses and research and development costs.
Nobody on my threads every took joy in anybody losing money. Calling a stock a POS is not the same as focusing on individuals losing money. For some reason you seem to think that having a different opinion on the market is the same as hoping that the other person is harmed. You have brought up several times that people on my threads took joy in others losing money and it is just a flat out lie. Many of my friends on SI are bulls and have been while I was a bear...and vice versa. What I see with DW's thread is called schadenfreude and I consider it disgusting and I always have.
why does DW need sticking up for if he does the same thing that velo does? (has longer term positions that may be counter to what is perceived as the shorter term trend)?
and I dont wish anyone to lose $$$.
you guys on DW's thread seem to be having a great time enjoying the bears losing money. Frankly, I find it disgusting.
wasn't sticking up for them and have no opinion on soros. I just found it odd that you were criticizing velo for the same thing that dw does.
JXN saw Nemo on Friday....I didn't go. He is collecting all the mcdonalds toys now.
you considered that a shot?
p/c ratio not unreasonably high at .77

things seem to be deteriorating pretty rapidly. Thinking we just finished a "b" and are going to have a "c" down to 950ish.

I did some work in Malaysia and became familiar with the term there. I'm trying to remember who came up with the comparison to "manana"...a recognized writer, if I remember correctly.
Music was a big part of my Mom's life, there was no way that her music wasn't imprinted on my sister and I. I remember that song.
Hi Rudi,
nope, it's me. Not going to LV anytime soon....
the phrase "ish allah" is a muslim saying that roughly means "if allah wishes it to be so". It is a term that has been compared to "manana" without the urgency. (in other words, if someone says "ish allah" in response to a request that you make, don't count on it happening in your lifetime.
it wasn't a reference to ish on SI.
SI will be back...........ish allah
so, going back to the original point, do you think that there are more shorts in the market right now?
I don't think that it is fair to use you as a representative sample. If the NYSE and Dow and the SPX nearly revisited their october lows, somebody felt some pain.
I agree with you about the nasdaq, but if you look at the SPX, Dow or NYSE, they came within spitting distance of the october lows. That will have caused some pain with bulls and may have knocked a few out of the equation. The point though is that I doubt very seriously that you have new shorts entering the game at this point. Still some stubborn shorts, but the past two months are not going to turn bulls into bears.
this chart shows where bonds and equities have moved up together.

I think that the ratio of shorters may have gone up, but that is just by virtue of the fact that more bulls were wiped out in the drop through March. But I don't think you are seeing a lot of new participants in shorting.
I think that a lot of the shorts are making the same mistakes that the bulls have during the whole bear market....and it will be interesting to see if the bulls become a bit more humble if there is another big drop.
well, you could be right...but of course, bear market rallies are really designed to wipe out the shorts and they can be very convincing....I believe that the market is a fundamental and technical short at this point....but, I could be wrong...again.
I played the NVDA earnings. I went long at 15.30, but covered too early (but made good coin), I then flipped and shorted at 17.50.....but covered at 17.98 before the AH trading closed. I was happy I did so.
I think any of the old shorts in nvda are toast, which should help the downward momentum.
for the record...shorted NVDA in AH.
good point......that just wouldn't work...
I guess that means that neither Norma nor I wins....but that tuck guy got pretty close.
I am pretty sure that Bob will announce that he got a job with the Piano manufacturers mentioned in the movie "South Park, Bigger, Longer, Uncut"
How did you get that????
well, I could be wrong....and well, though I think that i got close...I don't have any reason to think I nailed it...for some reason I can't remember exactly what my wag was, but I was thinking that I said 'minus 12' in my head when I posted my wag.
I probably said -35 or something.
thanks for the info...
This certainly is the slowest topping action I have seen in a while.
aha! 2 69s, good point....
