One VERY plausible possibility to rapidly assist us is IF CSN manufactured some 20-40 mill "enhanced" CDs this month.
IF they did, I would anticipate seeing a new SCMI #of CDs PR at the beginning of August.

Hooray Holdingthebag!! eom
Collin & Neilbolton just wanted to say how much I appreciate your posts!!
Keep 'em coming.
~ii2
IF that's the case then explain the "business" reason for 2 other majors (Sony & EMI) selecting other technologies from MVSN & F4i, and publically stating the fact that they are going w/ the other 2 technologies?
~ii2
>>"Don't look now if you don't want to, but the the astonishing thing is that EV and his team has been quietly solving one problem after another -- problems that have completely floored Macrovision and First4Internet"<<
P.S. Pls show me a news article or PR that validates your opinion:
"EMI has begun its international launch with MediaMax"
Thanks. All I've seen publically is EMI stating they are going w/ MVSN.
Bleu, would you pls elaborate on your post a few days ago regarding "needing a bigger boat"?
Thx
~ii2
0 CREDIBILITY! "THEIR" PROBLEM is they tell investors this "after" the fact....after the "truth" comes out!!!
Even scarier is if their own development team/tech support doesn't know what's going on the latest releases!! What a bunch of BS!! Coming from the SW industry, I find that extremely ridiculous (especially as small as they are)...if it's the truth we're in big trouble. Hopefully, it was just their scapegoat excuse.
Bottom-line, unfortunately, this MGMT team DOES NOT SEEM TO LEARN how this kind of funny business hurts them, the company, and thus the shareholders!!
JMO.
Disgusted.
~ii2
IMO, short-term means within this '05 year! So, if SCMI is stating 60 (and who really knows what they define as "short term"), and mix that with my own DD, which I believe was around 40's...w/over 25 years in customer service I've been thoroughly trained in the "Under promise and Over deliver" expectation strategy....always, better to exceed customers (or in this case investors) expectations! Therefore, my hope would be in the 20-40 range.
Again JMO,
ii2
Sorry Corey, but I've been here way too long and could unfortunately write several lengthy posts reflecting the numerous objectives that Peter & Co have never achieved.
Therefore, based on mgmt's poor performance thus far in meeting their own objectives, I am unable to put a lot of credence in them achieving objectives this time (same w/ a lot of other investors thus the pps)...I've been told 2 years in a row that we'd be getting the BMG X'mas CDs NEVER HAPPENED!!!
Obviously, I hope for all the shareholders it will happen this year but I definitely wouldn't be willing to bank money on it (again, thus the pps). As Flydoc has said, "seeing is believing with this company".
CSN? I believe we'll be lucky if we get a 20-40 mill CD deployment this year. If so, then yes we could achieve some change from the CSN deal long term. But again, this deal is for "copy enhancement"....which at any time CSN has a handful of other vendors they could switch to. Not what we bought into, but obviously could help our desperate need for revenue.
JMO
~ii2
My CSN understanding is that their CDs will only utilize "copy enhancement" functionality - they don't need to copy protect (oops, I mean "manage") their content.
"IF" the deal starts to rollout this month, it "could" produce appx. 20-40 million CDs. However, investors bought into "industry standard" on music CDs (especially since there are A LOT of copy "enhancement" technologies on the market).
I personally believe we were VERY lucky that BMG wanted to get into the CSN's business (i.e. Sonapress), and touted SCMI to CSN for us. But it's not a done deal IMO until the CDs are manufactured and in the market.
JMO,
ii2
ONLY 10 Mill CDs sold so far this year, is what the PR makes it sound like (a VERY far cry from reaching 147mill. by end of the yr...half way through the year and not even 1/4 of the goal achieved. No wonder they've been having to sell shares to cover costs!).
Today's PR states "With Almost 20 Million MediaMax'd CDs"
Absolutely NADDA about the 20 million being released since 1/2005!! (Which is what we all we're "hoping" for!!)
compare to:
5/10/05 PR: SunnComm Generates Record Revenue by Including MediaMax on More Than 2 Million CDs for April.
compare to:
1/18/05 PR SunnComm's MediaMax Copy Management Technology is included On a Record 10 Million CDs in North America
IMO...not great and a VERY disappointing PR. Some ramp up, but nothing outstanding compared to the number of outstanding shares :)
JMO
~ii2
Joe, I pay around 8-10 per trade w/Ameritrade...no other commissions.
~ii2
For now, I'd like just to see a public PR verifying the 20mill CDs manufactured over the last few months (as touted), and/or a PR with significant ramp up in releases for May & June.
~ii2
P.S. Oh, and a PR stating that EMI is using SunnComm in Europe vs. MVSN only would be a nice verification of touts also.
JMO
AGREE Collin. Especially, since shareholders were told MM5 was going to be on ALL releases after Dave Matthews and we found out, after the fact, that it wasn't the case.
Thx Sam, a few questions:
Any idea/understanding of the business reasoning for the company choosing not to release a PR informing investors that they've significantly ramped up by releasing 20 mill CDs this year (especially when shareholder's confidence and the pps are at all time lows)?
Also, why has EMI been publically stating utilizing MVSN?
Thanks for sharing. "Hope" it all comes true.
~ii2
A RECORD mo. could very well be in store for SCMI, this month, "IF" they manufacture 20-40 mill enhanced CDs for CSN (despite whatever may or may not be transpiring with BMG).
But, in order to meet, or even come close to mgm'ts touts for the year we sure do need A LOT more business from the labels.
Waiting to see once again IF we get the X'mas rush I'm doubtful of....since it's been touted to me for the last 2 Xmas seasons and never transpired.
JMO
~ii2
A PR reflecting substantial ramping up is EXTREMELY important:
1. it shows growth, and revenue coming in
2. it will, at the very least, create a little confidence to prevent further substantial liquidation from long/heavy shareholders.
JMO
~ii2
& WHY wouldn't the co. release a PR about such a substantial ramp up?
~ii2
Thank you Berg for taking the time to go to the store to verify, and for sharing it with us!
~ii2
Collin, 20 mill in what time frame (since 1/05 or from SCMI's inception)? If it's from 1/05, which would be great, why wouldn't they make a PR out of it?
Did you happen to hear any reason for not announcing release numbers for May & June?
THANKS!!
~ii2
P.S. BTW, what number of enhanced CDs have you heard for CSN to be manufactured this month, for deployment I believe starting in August?
Collin, what does the office say when you call?
I'm curious, since I've been unable to get my question answered for weeks now.
thx,
~ii2
1 immediate boost could come this month in manufacturing 20-40 mill. enhanced CDs for the CSN deal due to come out next month. As far as my DD can discover, that at least seems to be still on track.
Of course, the real confidence booster is needing to see at least a PR with continued growth numbers for May & June...and real ramping up in revenue via the MMXT quarterly report.
JMO
~ii2
Eagle, thanks for the post. After several years of major touts which go unfullfilled there are a lot of us feeling the same way.
Hopefully, mgm't will come through "this time". I do believe it is beneficial to let them know we plan to keep them accountable on this one.
~ii2
MARIO, then EXPLAIN WHY INVESTORS HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN A PUBLIC update on the number of releases for May & June IF what you are saying is true:
"market dominance, market leadership and rapid revenue growth"
Show us the facts/proof (vs. touts), for a change.
Additionally, how can you tout market dominance when 2 of the major labels have PUBLICALLY stated that they are utilizing our competitors technology and not SunnComm's?
Thanks,
~ii2
FACTS/CREDIBILITY/PERFORMANCE RECORD thus far:
1. BMG full Xmas deployment touted twice by company...never transpired!
2. Numerous promises of SunnComm audits and achieving reporting status....never transpired!
3. Promises of dividends....Dstg never received! QTIG only 1 out of 4 received by shareholders. As of end of Feb. company still telling shareholders they would be receiving dividends by end of March nadda.
4. 2 major achieved, and Universal touted as a REAL deal vs. just an agreement of an option to use technology....however, after 6 months still 0 commercial releases.
5. Shareholders told after June commercial releases would contain MM5, now "after the fact" that shareholders are discovering that's not the case mgmt & Investor Relations amend their statements that only some will be MM5.
6. Shareholders told in Dec, '04 that the F4i PR was absolutely bogus...now we're discovering that the Sony division is STILL and currently rolling out with F4i!
7. Summer of 04 shareholders told we landed EMI...only to discover it was just a testing agreement.
8. Shareholders have been told for years that Peter & Co have the "best interest" of the shareholders in mind...however, we see extremely outrageous salaries, consultant fees, mass dilution, and a 80% loss (pps)in the last 2 years....shareholder's reward for "keeping the faith" thus far.
9. Company states in their own PR that shareholders may discuss the status of IPOD during conference call, and other questions will be answered...proved not to be the case. And the company still elects not to address poignant shareholder questions/concerns publically on their own forum (Ask SunnComm).
10. Company touts that we are the "industry standard" and superior product however we still are seeing major labels utilizing other tehnologies (and only BMG division using MM).
11. Shareholders told 1 million in revenue for end of '03...never transpired.
etc. etc. etc.
Unfortunately, this record does not exude shareholders confidence. Thus the reason for the pps.
Makes one feel REALLY secure that a merger will go through in a timely fashion, as a 1:1, and that we won't ever see a reverse split (as the company has repeatedly assured shareholders).
Thus the reason for wanting to SEE a PUBLIC PR stating the number of releases for May & June (vs. speculation from a list of CDs listed on a support page that may or may not be commercial releases).
JMO
~ii2
It's not a rant. It is A VERY VIABLE BUSINESS QUESTION!! If you can't see that, then I suggest you ignore my posts.
Bottom-line, the company refuses to address the question, yet they have had NO problem releasing numbers when they were favorable in April.
~ii2
Then again I ask, WHY then doesn't SunnComm release a PR SHOWING the number of new releases for May & June (like they did in April)? Don't you think IF our new releases have been growing monthly that management would want to publically release that information to attract new investors, and build shareholders confidence?
IMO, by management (and their chosen IR, Mario) "choosing" not to release, or tell us the the number of releases manufactured in May & June (via a PR, Ask SunnComm or when we call in) investors can only assume that we have not been rolling out more than the 2 mill. that mgm't happily announced in April...otherwise they would publically release the info!
Ditto for me Sam! & thus the pps.
~ii2
IF sales are ramping up, then why can't SunnComm release a PR stating the number of releases manufactured for May & June (like they did in April)? Wouldn't they want to show investors the continued growth (vs. speculation from CDs listed on a support page that may or may not be commercial releases)?
~ii2
Neilbolton, once again thank you for your very intelligent DD and posts!!
~ii2
Interesting, ONCE AGAIN MARIO RESPONDS TO the board without answering the REAL question of where are the PRs regarding the numbers of releases for May & June. Same with the co.
Thanks. If both continue to choose not to answer then that says it all IMO (and if the numbers are to be released soon, within a week, then why not at least inform investors?).
~ii2
I'm asking to SEE the number of CDs "manufactured" (in a public PR, vs speculation of CDs that may or may not be commercial CDs on a support page) for the months of May & June, not revenue numbers. The company was able, and wisely, provided this information in April (2 million).
Make no mistake about it, management definitely knows "for sure" how many CDs were manufactured for the month of May & June by now.
Jmo
~ii2
WHY won't anyone answer this VERY simple & credible question (including the company)? It's not a matter of going to a record store (LOL, what a great business strategy to attract new investors and make shareholders DIG for positive info! If that's how this mgm't team runs a business then no wonder the pps is SO pathetic).
It's a PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS technique for a struggling company (especially in lieu of a consistently declining pathetic pps, lack of credibility & shareholder's confidence) to release a PR showing continued monthly ramp up.
Interesting, how you choose to twist this very viable BUSINESS question into a sarcastic joke, instead of answering it with a viable business answer.
~ii2
LOTS of TALK, Where are the FACTs to back it up (numbers for May & June)? If all the new releases on the support page are true AND represent COMMERCIAL releases why wouldn't SunnComm take advantage and reflect the continued growth in a PR?
Thx
~ii2
WHY HASN'T SCMI RELEASED NUMBERS on new releases released for MAY & JUNE (like they did in April) IF WE ARE STILL CONTINUING TO RAMP UP? WHY NOT PROVE the big touts, and build some much needed credibility and confidence?
Mario will you, actually or anyone, pls answer that?
& Mario (since you love posting on this board about how great SunnComm is doing), if you don't answer why no numbers are being released that says it all!!
Thx,
~ii2
MARIO, Pls explain WHY we have not seen numbers (for releases) for May and June if things are going so well, and continuing to ramp up as was suggested in April when SCMI posted their 2 mill PR?
Thx,
~ii2
NO, it's just those pesky MM's again. LOL
WHERE's the REALEASE/REVENUE info for May & June?
"IF" there has been such a great ramp up, as SunnComm has been touting, WHY not release those numbers to PROVE continued growth and gain a little shareholders confidence?
Did we beat the 2 mill number, or have we declined the last few months?
Numbers would be A LOT more beneficial right now vs. a bunch of "whens" that may never transpire!
JMO
~ii2
BS, AS USUAL! & A LOT OF "WHENS"...When this happens, when that happens blah blah blah...long shareholders have been waiting for some of these "whens" to be completed for over 2 years now! Note, nothing about giving investors any type of time frame for these "whens". And once again blaming our declining pps solely on the MM's.
JMO
~ii2
"When Peter is ready to unleash MediaMax to the news outlets"?!
IF he had anything really ready to go and SO awesome why wouldn't he be releasing it now?
& why wouldn't it be being reflected in the pps?
Thx
~ii2
& how many are MMXT vs SCMI's?
Good question Bleu.
STEHSUCKER, are you still reading the board?
What happened to your sources touts re: Ipod and Universal last February?
Thx,
~ii2
