is figuring out how he's going to end up losing all his money... too many consecutive green days is going to bring forth some AWFUL karma...

I picked up some at 0.282... lets see some more green :)
do you ever lose money on options? lol
It's all because I bought those calls EOD
I'm just looking for a small bounce... I would like even a 5% gain... which would be around 109.50s even
I'm hoping for bounce at open
SPY almost dropped below 109 in AH already
SPY now has a Hugh Jass resistance at around 109.35... since that's close to where I bought the calls, hah...
I picked up some AUG 109 calls at 1.85... hopefully I can make a little on them really quick
EDIT: up 5% in about 3 mins, hah
NM seems to refer to QQQQ for his posts... I was wondering this for a while before I asked
I buy OTM options for the volatility... I really don't like holding them overnight when within 2 weeks of expiration though...
You win, lol
Traded SPY 114 Calls today... I rode it from 0.59 to 0.80... sweeeeeeet
EDIT: 114
He sold to open... which is like shorting, but with options
No problem... I've used it a couple of times after someone posted it on some other board

How does one NOT trade emotionally on days like today?
Lets get a good price on some calls then!
EDIT: I wonder how low they take the market today
Premarket is pretty active
Like I said........
Well I picked up some calls today... which means the market is probably going to gap down, hah...
And AOL is up >1% lol
Just out of curiosity, when do you guys (and/or gals) usually stop buying calls close to expiration? Up until the last week?
What symbol are you buying puts for?
Private sector added slightly more jobs than expected...

Watch the S&P500 go up 20 pts... just kidding
what is your average? I'm in at 0.34 and if I got 0.50 I would be VERY happy
Do you still have your PUTs?
Hmmm da boyz trying to get a signal that the recession is over a couple months before November elections, eh?
That is good news?
I have a feeling the market's not going to tank or fill the gap... and no matter what news comes out, it will still go up
I'm trying for 0.34 on the Aug 105s
Filled... lets see if that was a wise move
Same here... all cash, waiting for buy signal either way
EDIT: I may wait for another hour or so to buy... maybe more... I've been getting in the habit of pulling the trigger too fast
Exactly what I did... I lost 2k from Mondays gap, then gained back a little over 1k of that by reversing and buying calls early
with these options, using stop-losses can make you lose out on a lot of gains... it is nothing for SPY calls, for example, to drop 5-10%, then continue higher. If you use 1% stop-loss on these options, you will most likely sell immediately after you place the order.
Today the Aug 114 calls went from 0.87 to 1.25... then dropped to 1.09ish, then back up to 1.25... if I had a 1% trailing stop on those calls, I would have gotten stopped out at 0.89 or so... instead of the 1.18 I ended up selling them at...
I know what you're saying though... it's just hard to set stop-losses on options due to their volatility.
I was a bear... still kind of am, trying to regain my losses from the puts... I made most of it back from taking profits just now... Aug 114 CALLs from 0.88 to 1.18... 34% gain. Still down a little from my PUT losses
Weekly MACD looks like it may go positive in next couple days?
I picked up some 114 calls... smart to hedge with this crazy market
Of course they would be... bad news about the economy only sends the market up... that is until I'm bullish, then it sends the market down.
if 1040 is tested soon... we will be up over 200% with our puts... I would like to see that happen
soon being end of next week
Lol... have a good weekend...
and I agree, life it way too short to drink bad beer
great job lowering the avg to 0.72! I'm still at 0.80... got pulled away from my desk...
