Do me a favor and put me on ignore!!!!!!!!
Do me a favor and put me on ignore!!!!!!!!
Peg, ok, so another politician/lawyer has crossed the legal line. Send him to jail or back to tax consulting and good riddance! Maybe someone with sense will get hold of this administration. I'm still dismayed but hoping that conservatives can hold on long enough to neutralize the liberals in our judiciary!
I'm not in the "blame" game any more. But you better come to understand that this is not politics-as-usual! These islamic terrorists kill democrats, republicans and whoever is not an islamic terrorist who hates western culture.
I won't dispute the substance of most of what you say. Nonetheless, I still ask: If we cut and run, THEN WHAT? Although I have much dismay about the state of our national leadership, the President is correct to stay the course at this stage of our involvement in Iraq in my opinion. God help us if we do not prevail against these islamic terrorists from this point and this place forward.
Why can't you see the forest instead of just a tree!? These islamic terrorists want to make you get on your knees and pray whenever they scream from their towers. If this is what you want, keep up the rhetoric designed to undermine the war against islamic terrorists in this country and abroad.
Whether Bush or anyone else is president , the important thing is eradicate islamic terrorism wherever this country has an interest which needs to be protected, in Iraq at this point or anywhere else.... and then get ready for Iran, because they want our destruction as much as anyone does.
Don't appease these terrorists with petty bickering about our leadership and its competency---because above all else Bush has it right at this point in time--IT'S them or us!!!
Peg, I find it more and more difficult to disagree with you about GWB. But, "don't get me wrong", as the old song goes, I still can't believe any thinking person would prefer a pandering Kerry as president in today's world. "Islamic Terrorism" is more of a threat than communism ever was!!!!!!! Kerry was a "cut and run" in this country's involvement in Viet Nam and he'd be the same today! I hope for both our interests/sakes we have better candidate's in 2008. Hope you aren't a Hilary C supporter.
They would have gone on tv after 9/11 and said "...can't we all just get along...." At least GWB has a backbone..... if not .......whatever! He's still better than anything the dems have to offer!
Hap, you have the patience of Job, biblical reference I remember but can't explain anymore, to try to bring the light of conservatism into "liberalism". Peg and the rest "just want to get along" with the Islamists. We know it's not going to happen.
I'm still trying to recover from the news of MY president's latest maneuver. I will never vote for another Texan for anything. It's depressing!
Guess what though---I still wouldn't vote democrat/leftist/liberal--- sooner go down with the ship!
Thanks for that posting---But i'm still not sure it's not Bush's fault for not signing that damn treaty like Teddy Kennedy's nephew says.
Wow! Powerful words. Can you cite a reference for us to go to? Where is a guy like Winston when you need him. Have you thought about Newt Gingrich (I really never heard why he fell from grace in republican circles)?
PS--the PBS program is about the Sixties, not just the war.
PBS in my viewing area is respinning the Vietnam War. To PBS' credit they are correctly showing that LBJ lied to escalate the war. He's the worst president in my lifetime--I voted for JFK but LBJ made me what I am today--a republican.
What I have learned since Vietnam is that the media by their liberal bias and coverage of people like Jane Fonda succeeded in brainwashing the public.
Iraq is not Vietnam---it's a lot more important. Iraq is the place for us to stop the radical Islamists---regardless of how we came to be in that land.
You may be correct. I just know that I want no alliance with the type of people the media covered in Sheehan's peace rally. I am very disappointed in this administration on any number of its actions or lack of action in the case of our borders. I am ready for Newt Gingrich to step forward and try to salvage the party.
Let's say that you are correct. I still ask the same question. If we cut and run, then what. Do we bring our warriors home? Same question again: THEN WHAT?
Here's what i think: Regardless of the reason we are in Iraq, there are a whole lot of bad guys there and they aren't us. Those bad guys want you and me dead! Our young warriors are there fighting the bad guys for you and me. Our leaders, regardless of mistakes that may have been made, want our warriors to kill the bad guys and so do I. Simplistic I know, but that's the bottom line in my mind.
What is the answer? Cut and run? We can't relive the bad decision to go into Iraq? If we pull out , what then?
my gawd, who'd believe that the globe has found something negative to say about the bush administration and the republican leadership---how novel that is and how enlightened we should now feel!
I watched these congress-person, hollywood wantabe's jump on the bash-bush bandwagon and perform for the cameras today. It's clear that congress-people and FEMA alike are incompetent---not unlike you libs who post here--to deal with the enormity of mass destruction that can be delivered by ---let's say, mother nature. Here's the order of culpability--democrats who foster dependency on government by doling out monthly handouts ,then the mayor of New Orleans, then the gov of La, then FEMA, then, somewhere between Bush's advisors and him, the President. Mother Nature have mercy on us all and send us some competents.
still same ol blame it on bush rhetoric i see---get a life.
Is that the same Jimmie Carter who should have become an innocuous minister to a well meaning but ignorant congregation but who instead charmed enough peace-loving liberal swing-voters to elect him PRESIDENT and then promptly exhibited his lack of presidential leadership, turn-the-other-cheek-religious/lust-in-my-heart/spinlessness to the shame of USA citizens who had to put up with his idealistic attempt to lead us to utopia for 4 years?.
i misspoke again--should've said liberals
for 30 years this govmt has been dispensing money according to LBJ's war on poverty/great society formula and consequently have enlarged the dems voter base of people who get govmt handouts for doing nothing. you dems need to listen to Bob Beckle(sp?), dem spokesperson who shows up on Fox cable often:he admitted yesterday on tv that you dems have perpetuated the gov giveaways for 2 generations.
U R correct, i guess---in any case,i should have said class disparity!
newsWEAK is a p o s liberal news fabricator. Pres LBJ blew it when he institutionalized race disparity by creating dependence on government checks for doing nothing in his Great Society.
I have several other than Moore-- Kerry (John, atty), Edwards (John, atty), Goldberg (Whoopie), Chase (Chevy), Rather (Dan), N Y Times, Soros and other elitists who think they have influence because they have money and recognition. Dems had better get away from these kinds of people and understand the likes of Roosevelt, Truman, and Kennedy, the first candidate for president for whom i voted.
Blue, thanks for that post. I wish I could express "things" as clearly.
i'd rather be red than dead-- when i was young that was an easy one to answer--someting to do with youthful virility. now i am really vacillating --Kerry the incoherent vs Bush the incompetent. i still go with bush and pray for competency to come to bush because i hate the pandering of kerry.
using this deceased lady's image for your posts is really questionable. why would you do this?
does relativity mean anything to u?
I'll pray for u too :in edit(as zeev would say) think i'll save the praying for the more deserving ( G) I really do appreciate reading your comments, at least so far--we'll see!?:)
Thanks for putting Clinton's sexual indiscretions in perspective, especially when one considers JFK (kennedy). However, to many of us, comparing Bush's mistakes(as sad as they have been so far) do not compare to Clinton's absolute despicability, when he chose, without provocation,to point his finger at me and EVERONE watching TV to proclaim "I never had sexual relations.....etc". Anyone who thinks this liar was a good president needs to rethink his/her "values" and hope that there is someone that will run for the presidency that a majority can agree is a good leader. Kerry certainly is not the one!
Would you or yours have gone to a "political" rally to demonstate your grief for the loss of someone you love or to demonstrate political activism?
the first vote of my life was for JFK in 1960. He scared me to death with Cuba but i was still with him. Then, LBJ (and all his deception) made me a republican. I've been that way ever since-- not bragging, just the way it is. Only man since then that I believed in was R Reagan---maybe I am just an old .. whatever? Still, all I can say is find someone you believe in and follow him. That's the way I feel about McCain--He's for Bush, then so am I.
Agree with you, except I hope neither of them think that anything but ?.......? will keep the U S safe from all sorts of EXTREME extremism. I am still trying to find the answer.
I just listened to John McCain on Fox News, Gretta et cetera--I would vote with him and for him! Would anyone else on this thread? Don't I wish I had the Opportunity to vote for him!!! You bet I do!!!
I always respect your opinion; however, when it comes to choosing one leader from another, we lesser mortals are burdened with how/what we perceive from the evidence presented us as opposed to superior reasoning power. I still believe that President Bush will work to find the solution to terrorism and the Iraq "problem" and that Kerry and his "believers" will not!
Zeev, all your reservations about Bush I can understand , but do you really think Kerry is the solution? I hope that somehow Bush and his administration will shortly find away to convince us that they have as much sense as bravado.
BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!or bore-all-us
thks tb, its nice to have someone like you expressing thoughts, that many of us have but don't express, about the extreme permissiveness of the extreme liberals. i am not a Bush fan! but better him than Kerry.
