pantmaker, I agree. Goverment will respond.
AJ, the trend is not confined to manufacturing. Millions of white collar jobs are projected to shift to foreigners. A jobless recovery is not a recovery.
AJ, what can/should be done to stem the flow of jobs to China and India?
AJ, you're in business. You're plugged in to big cheeses and high muckymucks. What do the cognoscenti say about employment? Has hirng turned the corner? Is it even clear that layoffs are abating?
Syl, beyond September, what are your intermediate and longer term outlooks?
M_W, if that's your take, too, how should the A end game play?
Thank you,
A

AJTJ, Onischka had a 1370 target. Did he ever say what would come next?
After comparing this market unfavorably to February, 2000, are you leaning against 1640 holding?
Zeev, some Max Pain followers claim that the September through November QQQ P/C open interest is such that we cannot get a steep selloff here. What has to happen for a Debacle-ought-trey to materialize?
Relatedly, NYSE short interest is at its lowest level in more than a year. Nasdaq short interest fell sharply in August. Commercials are net short the SPX and NDX.
a.
RTS, Nasdaq short interest declined by roughly 280,000,000 shares in August. This was the year's largest monthly swing in either direction. http://www.nasdaqnews.com/
RtS, upon further review, Investors Intelligence came in at 56-19.
With respect to BPs, what actions would convince you that a broad-market top has been set? Are you watching chart patterns or absolute levels?
a.
Bloomberg Television reported a small rise in bullishness. To the best of my recollection, the revised figures are around 56 and 20.
tommy and punkle, thanks.
a.
CALIFORNIANS: Does anyone have current recall election polling numbers?
Now that we know what Onischka is saying, how good is this guy? How long have all of you been tracking his calls?
Hey. You. Boldface. At 1640, what measures would be required to support the bear case? For examples: How many new lows? BP levels? Your best voodoo, please.
a.
metsin2, what else did Bloch have to say? Did he set any targets?
Thanks,
a
Bearmove, which natgas plays are on your list?
NYSE breadth turned negative about 45 minutes into the session.
Here's one for you, Godfrey: NDX 5-day RSI is 88.7.
Don Zeev, what do you say to those who are looking for a blowoff top?
Zeev, SMH is more than a point below its daily high. In percentage terms, SOX is doing twice as well. Is this topping action?
a.
Trade Hard, how often does Onischka update his outlook?
a
Yo. Hardhat. What's the smart money doing?
a.
Jerry, the SOX seems to be breaking down. Looking out 2-3 months, how low is down?
AJTJ, is that 950 area now your preferred year-end target?
On the subject of cyclical bull markets:
--How long, minimum to maximum, does a cyclical bull run?
--Have you decided for yourself between cyclical bull and "fakeout"?
a.
Okay, you eggheads, wastrels, and ebulliosmit's, is it yahooey or Yahoo-y?
Futures. Let's talk futures. http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=1267204
Been watching the futures. Intraday, regardless of market action, the cash Dow and S&P seem to trade safely higher than the futures. The cash NDX nearly constantly is two-plus points lower. What gives?

Bear, what would lead you to put some of that cash to work on the short side?
a.
AJTJ, what's your take on the rising 10-year bond yield?
Quotes from Mr. P and Paul Desmond: http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/p52252.asp
Does anyone know the expiration date of the auto workers' contract?
Augie the Human, there aren't many inspired characters hereabouts. We know how Zeev became a turnip farmer. What's the 'Boo's backstory?
Mint jelly.
AJTJ and Company, thank you, my two-legged friends.
AJTJ and others, where do you guys think COMP/NDX
will end the year?
Six point four. Thirty thousand. The numbers were grizzly. This is a reality check for the market, and I am surprised at the mutedness of the moves in the futures. Limit down is warranted.
