What kind of problems are you having with your Gateway? I've had a Gateway laptop for almost a year and so far, no problems. My only complaint is the screen has such a glare shine, I can't use it outside. I didn't have that problem with my old Dell laptop. I used to work on the patio a lot but can't do that with the Gateway. Do you know if they make a "glare free" screen?
Here's wishing a good NSHV week for everyone!
I have some questions about TriMark and hope someone out there has some answers. I understand how the encryption will work, and it sounds like a great plan. But like everything else, this technology poses more questions than answers. For instance, if I should download the new Christmas album (whenever it becomes available,) pay my .89 the legal way....and then later loan the downloaded version to a friend, who decides to upload it to the internet to share with others. Am I still liable for that CD, even though I've done nothing illegal? How will the prosecutors handle this? I guess the simple answer here would be "don't loan out your downloads".
Wonder if a record label couldn't just put together a sample album of promo clips from the new album, instead of sending out the completed album with the newspapers. It would give the potential customer a reason to buy the album, rather than getting the entire CD for free. Just a thought.
Tihs emaplxe of tnimreal csae of Fat Fgenir Smordyne is tlury azaming. I had to go bcak and raed it aiagn.
Well, that was a good half day's read. Thanks Eliot. You're a good man. You have some great words of wisdom. NSHV could use a lot more of this.
What a week we've had. Pretty monontone.
Good Morning all. Ready to go green today?
14thPGA, that's a great response! However, if you watched the CMA Music Fest the other night, you didn't see much of that ole twangy stuff. What they're calling "Country" nowadays is just about as far removed from traditional country and as close to rock and roll as they've ever been. With acts like Big & Rich, Keith Urban, Sugarland and Little Big Town. I wouldn't call that country but it's great stuff....and it sells! Sugarland played a huge role in Bon Jovi's big come-back last year when they teamed up on the song "You Can't Go Home". So you might try listening to some of that "Modern Country". You might even like it! Especially since Nashville Records is scheduled to be one of the team players.
P.S. I like smooth jazz too!
Back in the green again. That's good news!
They needed parking meter money.
I'm with you. NR could be the next "major" independent with the right promotion.
Yes, you're right. Thanks for doing the search.
Big Blue, this is just a very small amount of the record labels in Nashville. This source may be something that you have to subscribe to in order to be listed. As you will notice, all of the MAJOR labels are not even listed, such as Curb, Arista and BNA. I don't think this is even one tenth of the independent labels. A good source is usually the Country Music Association or the Academy of Country Music. Nashville Records should belong to both of them. If they haven't joined yet, it would behoove them to get involved in both associations. It just lends credibility to the Company.
14thPGA, I also believe the new albums could become collectors items, especially the military album. It's good to see so many board members looking forward to the long term effects of Nashville Records.
Charlie Daniels has a new album "Live From Iraq" which features his powerful, patriotic song "In America". The one where he opens with a recitation of The Pledge of Allegiance. You can bet Charlie does the original version of the Pledge. The USS New York album on the Nashville Records label will be a good follow-up.
This post is in reference to Nashville Records IHUB. Wonders never cease.
Thanks. Now I gotta go to prayer meetin' and visit with some of the other grandmas. Talk to you later. ;)
Good analogy about the Chicken Little Story.
The Christmas Album sounds terrific. I think everyone should send Arlene (the coordinator) a note of appreciation at AandR@nashvillerecords.com for doing such a tremendous job. She's worked her buns off trying to get this thing done in time for the manufacturing deadline. And coordinating all those stars, managers, agents, producers and studios was not an easy task. She's another Company Board Member that DOESN'T GET PAID FOR WHAT SHE DOES. But a little word of thanks from us would be nice. Especially after all the bashing the company has taken these past few days. I don't know about the rest of you, but it looks to me like the Company is still in business and running strong. Too bad a few have decided to give up the ship early. JMO
I thought we had that news last week.
I think this show is taped....not sure. It looks like Fan Fair... which was around the second week of June. Probably before the nshv letter of intent.
That would be nice, wouldn't it?
If you guys wanna lighten up, LeAnn Rimes is performing on the CMA Music Festival on ABC tonight.
Building a record label isn't something that happens in a matter of months. I can certainly understand the frustrations of those who've never been in the "business" end of the music business. If you need to move on, that's your choice. But, in my opinion, if you can possibly hang in there until this thing gets off the ground, you will most definitely be rewarded in the long run. An update from headquarters WOULD be nice at this point.
ohhh...a live one!! lol
Sure is quiet here. Did everyone leave town?
Yes, I agree, all all need patience. Thanks for all your help.
Can we send the VOD to Nashville anytime during the year? When I talked to David last week, he said there has been some confusion on how it's supposed to be done, and that he would be sending out another PR with more detailed instructions very soon. I haven't seen it yet, but I could have missed it. My computer was down for a while.
Greg...it's Dollywood. But you were close. :)
Yes, I'm sure this was a very important occasion for him and he probably needed a vacation. I wasn't criticizing...just passing the word along. I'm sure the Company was left in capable hands while he was gone. I wasn't checking on his whereabouts...the girl volunteered the information.
I don't think Gene went out of town to take care of the injunction. Unless Idaho is where you'd do that sort of thing. According to the office, he's at a family reunion in Idaho. Are you guys beginning to feel like an abandoned ship without a Captain? I am. Still waiting for a PR on SOMETHING!!!
Bama, good to see you back. That's a good song title "No Relief In Sight". Send that to Anita Cox! Maybe she'll split royalties with you. lol
We have people who like to be kept informed on what's happening with the Company...and we have people who think the PRs are fluff. Wish we could strike a happy medium here. Personally, I think a Company PR once a week is good. We probably don't need two. JMO
Not right now for sure. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. It's never gone to sub-penny since I've been involved. Maybe Cat or 53Chevy can give you a better answer.
You've got a good alias if you're looking for sub-penny. :) I'd say now's as good a time as any.
I bought in mid June but I'm hanging in there for the ride.
Thanks for the phone numbers. Do you have any questions you want me to ask?
I'll see if I can find him listed in the Yellow Pages.
Who has the answers to all these questions? Is it David, the investor guy, or is it Gene, the President? Somebody MUST be keeping records on this stock. Someone SHOULD KNOW how many shares have been bought, how many shares have been sold, and how many are still available. It seems quite that simple, even with what little knowledge I have. Who's in charge here???? This it the craziest thing I've ever been involved in.
OK...here's what we can do. I'll try to find some answers for everyone. Tell me who to direct the questions to, and I will get you some answers. You can either send me a PM or post it on the board. There's no sense in continuing to hash this thing over, if no one has any solutions to the problems. Let's get to the bottom of it. I'm not in it for the money. Just trying to get a little OJT. And if you believe that, I've got some ocean front property in Arizona that I'll sell cheap.
As we all do. Good point.
